Well what have you tried? The drivers needed to get adb to recognize your phone are found in the sdk, the ones for eclipse are also there, different drivers. Go to android sdk and there are a full set of instructions on how to get both

what do you mean? if you are up and running then start with "hello world!" there are tutorials all over for this
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
Okay I know how to run a "HelloWorld" but what I don't understand is how ? Like what is there specific commands to use or to get into adb shell to unbrick or even to registrar the G1 when its in registration. Idk maaynee? I need help.
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda app-developers app
eclipse only helps you make apps, it can't unbrick a phone.
what are you trying to accomplish? I'm just not fully understanding
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
Im trying to unbrick my phone using adb. I was also interested in making apps but I was able to? Because I never figured it out :c
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda app-developers app
well what is wrong with the phone? are you attempting a jtag repair?
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
Well tots my old t mobile phone and I don't have T-Mobile anymore so I'm trying to unbrick it and root it and unlock it because its stuck at the registration part.
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda app-developers app
if its stuck at regestration then it isn't bricked. if you don't have sim card with data then you need to bypass the sign in screen correct? google search "bypass sign in g1" you will find directions how to do this via adb.
to root it google "cyanogen wiki root g1"
to update further look for ezterry's thread on the 2708+ update in the developers section here in xda
check the dev section for rom choices
to sim unlock you will need to contact htc or tmobile to get a sim unlock code or by one from ebay or another online seller

Hey guys I sold my captivate to a friend that lives in NY, and before I shipped it to him it got signal fine, but it won't work for him. He's flashed other roms and modems. Does anyone have any idea

Sent from my HTC Desire HD using XDA Premium App
It might be worth letting us know what rom/kernel he's on, as well as what modems he has tried. The more info you can give, the better.
Well he when I sent him the phone he was running the continuum gingerbread with the modem in that version, and the reoriented kernal. The dev section has a lot of new stuff since I had my captivate. I'll get with him and get all the correct info

Have him flash the phone to stock and verify that it works.
Could be the sim card as well.

From looking at the attached thread, it should still be possible to edit the files successfully without an existing backup.
Is it any good and dose anyone know wheat I can download it?

It is the best rooting-tool for firmware up to 1.3*.
Just google it.
It is easy to find and use.
Firmware, do you mean hboot?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Ok, download apk, installed on my wife's desire. Turned on debug and unknown sources. Hit temp root. Get visionary logo and trying to root then screen gose black with notification bar still visible after long time still like this.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
This is meant for the desire hd with software version below 1.7xxx. It won't work on the desire at all or the hd if your software is 1.7xxx or above.

What do you mean by 1.7 is that hboot?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
No htc software version. Most software versions are now 2.36xx or above.

You haven't offended anyone here.
You could take a look the guides that allow you to root your device.
That's all. We are all piece of cake.
Bye man
Has any one tried using this app with their Inc S? How did it go?
I've installed it, loaded 3 roms (2 install from zip and 1 nandroid backup) and can't get any to boot. They all get stuck at the Splash screen.
I'm unlocked, S off, using Blackrose and have never had an issue installing those roms before.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda premium
I had it, but just for two rom. Do you selected install boot.IMG with?
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda app-developers app
I just followed the on screen prompts. Install zip, so I then select the zip I wanted. And when I try to boot to that rom it does nothing.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda premium
A reason could be the blackrose hboot with the lip partition..
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda app-developers app
Do you know of any way to get it to work?
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda premium
For me it looks like ics is too unstable for that, it doesn't run on my device flawlessly. You could go back to a non Blackrose HBoot, flash a Rom who don't need blackrose and try it again
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda app-developers app
New to the HTC one, not necessarily to rooting or android. Can I get a pointer to the root tools /wifi tethering stuff?

I will not recommend using a toolkit at all. Just learn how to use fastboot. It is very very simple. And it is, after all, "the right way".
1. Always search the forum BEFORE making a new thread.
2. Using a toolkit is cheating, and you will learn nothing.
3. Using commands on the CMD line is far better because you get too see the outputs in their raw form.
4. Again search before posting! I can't stress this enough.
If you need any help, throw me a PM and I'll reply back, in my own time.
Learn your fastboot commands, there are more than plenty guides around on XDA to help you with that.
Actually, in the fastboot CMD window you can type something along the lines of "help" and it will show all of the possible and usable first commands.
Downloading android SDK is a very big.so I just prefer toolkit.and toolkit saves lot of time...but I need to learn how to use cmd...
