But why it bricks the sga?
This bug is a long time known... the devs of the app could it fix...
but i think the sga is to old...
If you want to use a customrom... you can use the recoverymode of the sga to install cwm. If you installed cwm you can flash easiely any customrom for your sga
Why do you want a manager , aint that cool...and yeah don't think they want to invest in a phone like this
i think there are a lot of sga-users and the newbes can flash their sga easier with this app...
i used the app for my galaxy 5 and galaxy 3 and everything worked fine
and i can't imagine why it should be so difficault to fix the app for the sga...

hello guys!!
well it's been only a month since i bought ace but it's kinda slow nowadays.
i really would appreciate if anyone can suggest safe methods of increasing speed of stock rom with tweaks and increase free space on ram.
Thanx
and one more thing, i'm running low on internal memory. so which is the best app/script out there which can work similar to s2e for cm? i've realized that one can install alot of appz by that script without running low on space. so please suggest something for my stock rom ddkq8.
Stock samsung roms are always slow. But the latest one i.e 2.3.6 ddkq8 rom is the fastest among stock roms. U can flash that rom via odin.but custom roms are many a times faster than samsung ones. So y dont u flash a custom rom. It has a better rom managment as well. Hence speedy.
from XDA app
Press THANKS if I helped
well i'm already on 2.3.6 but don't know i'm afraid of flashing any custom rom. :--(
why are u even here if u scared.
Tgars ur choice. But its quite safe provided u do it the right way

i can assure you if you fullfill following things then you are good to go
1. Read English
2. Use Serach Button
3. Do not do some R&D things on your own [like flashing other device roms+kernels , rom manager , similar things]

Your phone will less likely bricked if you don't use ODIN much. I try to stay away from ODIN most of the time and just flash ROMs via CWM whenever possible

Hey there
I've read this: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_Mini:_Full_Update_Guide
i seen "Method via ROM Manager"...
This means that it's possible to install ROM Manager in stock rom without risk?? is now compatible??
As I've read, ROM Manager isn't compatible with our device, and it can brick the device. But I'm kinda noob and can't tell you more details
Brasileiro?

I bricked my last SGM with Rom Manager too, but then Koush added support for other devices (SGM is supported now) I haven't tried it as i don't want to risk another brick and i can't afford a new phone :/
Yuup, so many people traumatized with this app. Prefer installing CWM via odin and flashing ROM manually...

Hey Everyone
I have SAMSUNG GALAXY S and is currently running on the FROYO 2.2.1
FROYO.XXJPU and want to go to the ICS version
I tried searching on the forums and still not got the complete answer
Please let me know on how to do this
Thanks
First flash valĂșe pack and then root it using cfroot.
After that install any ics rom you like through recovery mode.

You would need to be on GB to be able to upgrade to ICS...
1st Step is to Update your phone to GB: https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum/threads/samsung-galaxy-s-gt-i9000-flashing-to-original-rom.46/
2nd Step is to root your phone: https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum...-i9000-rooting-gt-i9000-2-3-3-india-ddjv9.47/
3rd Step is try any ICS ROMs available: https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum...dwich-4-0-x-for-samsung-galaxy-s-gt-i9000.83/

Why all the spam?
- CF ROOT
- CM7 or straight CM9 will be enough too imho!
I prefer going to CM9 through CM7. Giving me less problems.
So CF ROOT - just pick a CM7 nightly here http ://get.cm/?device=galaxysmtd - a CM9/ICS ROM of choice and let's go!

As I have FROYO 2.2.1 XXJPU right now
Do I install any of these
CF-Root-XX_OXA_JPU-v1.3-BusyBox-1.15.3.zip
CF-Root-XX_OXA_JPU-v1.3-BusyBox-1.17.1.zip
Again thanks for your help
Just take the last one, and you can flash it in Heimdall or Odin. Don't forget to install the proper drivers.

WHat could be the reason for this ???????????????????????????????????/

you have to flash it twice, to get in new recovery, i mean the update.zip from rom manager...
after then flash CM9 twice, because on the first time it bootloops- dont panic! just do a three combo (to get to recovery and then flash cm9 and then any ICS Rom of your choise)
did it work?

For some reasons the CM9 was giving errors
(THIS APPLICATION HAS STOPPED WORKING)
so I flashed another rom [ICS ROM]Tiramisu+ I.C.E.A.G.E. V.1.9.6 I'M DIFFERENT!
and its working great.
I was thinking if there is any way by which we could keep multiple roms on phone. SO that we could choose at the boot which one to logon.
I wish if that was possible.
Sorry again ratl0lz, but this is not spamming. I have already written something for helping others and just asking them to visit the page instead of reproducing everything here. Just see the reply to your reply, just writing too technical may not help for someone who does not know things as good as you know.
Thanks,
I'm currently running CWM Recovery 5.0.2.6 on my Galaxy Ace. I've been warned away from using ROM Manager by basically everybody. But I want to install CWM Touch Recovery on my Ace, and ROM Manager seems to be the only way to do that.
First, is CWM Touch Recovery compatible with the Galaxy Ace?
Second, has ROM Manager improved? I bricked an Ace last February trying to flash CWM Recovery (it didn't have the my model listed). Current version is 5.0.0.8. Can I use it to safely flash CWM Touch Recovery (assuming Touch Recovery is compatible with Galaxy Ace?
Third, is there any place I can get CWM Touch Recovery for the Galaxy Ace without using ROM Manager?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Dude as you have said. You have been warned by everybody for using rom manager. But if you still insist on using it, feel free. Its your choice! I think there is already a cwm touch recovery for ace. Search in ace development section. But I think its buggy and discontinued.

I'm not disagreeing with you; ask the audience usually works. But everything I'm seeing telling me not to use ROM Manager is almost a year old (fall 2011 or earlier), and this is a very recent version of ROM Manager that recognizes my phone, where all the older versions didn't.
Is there anyone who has used ROM Manager 5.0.0.6 or 5.0.0.8 on their Galaxy Ace? If so, please let me know how it went, good or bad.

Hi everyone
I have just gotten a Samsung galaxy mini. I rooted it and unlocked it okay.
But then I wanted to flash rom and stuff, so I downloaded Odin, and flashed cwm, but... When Odin says pass, it press home + power and the Samsung screen flashed twice and sticks.
But the strangest thing is that it can still boot into android sometimes.
I am on android 2.2.1
iBook anybody can help as it is worrying me a lot
before flashing rom or CWM you will need to upgrade to gingerbread either through odin or Kies
and then flash cwm and after that flash rom with cwm
Thanks for the reply
I can't seem to upgrade via kies, can you provide a link that contains stock Roms for my samsung that can be upgraded via Odin.
Is there any chance of bricking at all?
Do you need any other info?
Thanks
