Hi the information is a bit outdated, wondering if since official release nightly the camera works? Thanks
I DONT have the device yet hence why im asking
No it doesn't. The ICS ROMs still don't officially support a camera yet. It is a driver issue. ICS is a completely new architecture and the old drivers won't work. Since drivers are proprietary we have to wait on an Official Samsung ROM. No developer for the 8.9 has really made much headway or even tried to hard recently to get a working camera.
Hello guys,
I recently installed latest paranoid jelly bean cm10 coming from paranoid 0.5 ics and I am experiencing HUUUGE bugs and force closes and all that stuff.. I tried reinstalling everything with complete data wipe etc but still the same.
So I just want to know what is the safest and the best way to do a complete clean install of ICS. Or even jelly bean if someone knows some stable roms that can be used daily.
Thank you!
If you are new to these stuff and better stuck with stock ROM for some time.
Best way to go clean is Flash GB ROM, wipe completely.
flash stock ICS, root it and flash safe kernel and enjoy it for some time, before moving to custom ROM.
so far the best and still the most stable ICS Rom I know is the stock Samsung ICS TW 4.0.4. Most custom ROMs have their share still of kinks and bugs so that it's expected some way or the other. That's the reason why there are always ROM updates on most custom ROMS out there (primarily to fix the bugs on the previous version)
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a Paranoid Android/AOKP/CM Rom that supports USB-OTG?
I need to the USB-OTG support in order to connect my arduino to my phone for school and I in general just want a more customizable rom. Yesterday I probably flashed at least 5 to 6 roms (I believe I tried PACMAN, AOSPA, Slimbean, Vanilla Rootbox, and Dirty Unicorns; maybe one more), but all attempts failed. I also tried flashing Thoravukk's kernel alongside the ROMs since it states " // • full otg support •" but I could not get a single one of those ROMs to work with either my USB drive or my arduino.
For the time being I'm on Nocturnal's Google Edition 4.2.2 and everything works fine there... just hoping I could get something better.
hi , iam using slimroms since a rough year on my former sgs1 and now on my note 1 . i realized now that even i love the rom and all the abilities of newer android versions , i have to go stock because of the unreliable usb drivers that regularly break connection and have poor performance when running as storage device from within android . for that reason i was looking in the forums about the stock roms and came across those stock and tw based roms . my question is now are these stock roms wich got tweaked and rooted but inherit all the properiat drivers that samsung got in his version and will these roms provide all levels of hardware support that i need for reliable working. despite beeing stuck on 4.1.2 then . and are these stock kernels like phillz one also working with the hardware as expected . finally the question about the different carrier versions wich seem to be the thing for newer stock roms like xxlt9 etc ... what does this mean in regard to the rom as i only know this numbering from the radios . thank you , chris

Hello everybody, sometimes, I flash my legendary Nexus 5, and test roms con Multirom forma ser their stability only, and think... Which ROMs are functional with pseudo kernel (Boot inject) from Multirom?
Based on my experiences says the following:
If you use the bootpatches for KitKat, you've problems with more of two Roms (Excluded the "Internal" *ROM base where you have been installed Multirom*); and should be reinstall it.
If you use bootpatches for Lollipop, all your Roms have battery drains and some errores for read files allocated in another Roms.
If you use bootpatches for Marshmallow, al works "perfecty", less when you try install another ROM based on MM.
Now:
Compatibility:
Multirom is Compatible with Stock Kernels only, FrancoKernel, Experience Kernel and others haven't a bootpatch for support that TWRP version.
All Roms based on KitKat, Stock, CAF and Cyanogenmod, included Sailfish OS, Ubuntu Touch and Firefox OS.
All Roms based on Lollipop that don't use FrancoKernel by default.
Almost all Marshmallow Roms (Some roms doesn't boot on Multirom), esencially Cyanogenmod based Roms.
Almost all Nougat Roms (LineageOS and "forkeds" Included), in Hammerhead CAF, non-CAF bases Roms, works too; CAF based Roms on Normal Nexus 5, and some based on Aosp, "Developer Options" doesn't works (Use Android Terminal for enable that options).
Oreo 8.0 Roms (Not Aosp Based) works only.
The Kernel and Bootloader update (I guess), don't leave that 8.1 Roms works on Multirom, the logic reason really IDK.
With supported Roms, sometimes "Developer Options" doesn't work; other times, SystemUI has Stopped is the reason (Included LineageOS 15.1 from @P4Block), but, in general, works without many problemas.
hello i have a serious question, so if i have 2 roms, and root and also flash xposed on my primary does that mean that my second rom will automatically have xposed aswell or is it up to me to decide whether i want to have it on secondary aswell, because i want to have my primary one with root and xposed but my secondary i want without root or xposed, so is that possible please?

Is possible.
Root Bridge (SuperSU or Magisk) and Xposed only works on the Rom that you choose for install it.
In my case, I'm using Kitkat (With root, but without Xposed), and Nougat (With root and Xposed).
