Hi,
i've looked around but it seems i am the only one with this problem:
Since i've got the OTA font size has become so small i can barely read text and menus. I think it has to do with a different way to handle dpi density on ics (??!), anyway the situation was so terrible i unlocked at htcdev and flashed Nik's Project X (which is great by the way) and thanks god (and Nik) it solved the problem. Now that WE WANT ICS v4 is out i was just wondering if it handles text the same way as stock or if it's modded.
I apologise in advance for my use of english, i'm from rome
I never had problems reading text in We_Want_ICS v3. I guess in v4 it's pretty much the same but I can't tell U for sure because my phone is getting repaired... But you can test it yourself. Backup your current ROM, flash We_Want_ICS v4 and see if you can read the text properly. But I think you can edit font size in settings anyway. But I'm not sure though...
I hope this helped a little...
I always thought the text size in Gingerbread was too big so I quite like them in ICS, everyone is different though, I think there should always be a setting to change this kind of thing, if Cyanogenmod can do it, why can't HTC do it in HTC Sense...
I remember the first update from froyo to gb came with supersize fonte as a bug: best ten minutes of my life (then i got another ota which fixed them )

hey, i've been screwing around pulling .apks from /system/app + /framework...and pretending i'm some hardcore themer or something...lol anyway...
firstly sorry for my lack of correct terminology...i only learnt how to use adb properly a few days ago and am very green when it comes to all this stuff.
i've managed to pull some pngs from com.htc.resource.apk which correspond to the main part of the sense/rosie interface (ie the buttons at the bottom of the home screen).
All i have been looking at doing is editing the colours of these pngs to add slight customisation..for now.
After editing i pushed com.htc.resource.apk back to my hero and hey presto it worked...nice new coloured interface (just the bottom of the homescreen, not everything like i've seen in some themers work and metamorph themes) but alas i came across a MASSIVE issue:
I lost the ability to sign into my google account and sync my contacts!!!!
I tried again and had the same issue...very strange i thought seen as i was only editing images...but i know computer systems can be temperamental...
so does anyone know what i'm doing wrong? possibly how i can fix this issue? it's been bugging me for at least 24 hrs and i'm sure there must be some easy fix. at first i thought it could be something to do with signing the files, but as far as i'm aware as i'm only playing with pngs no signing has to be done...correct me if i'm wrong.
I'm using villain rom 10.3 at the moment...if that makes a difference to whatever answers i'm hoping to get.
I've attached an image oh my status bar so far. i'm hoping to make a corresponding rosie/sense button thingy interface in the near future...
all help is GREATLY appreciated and i'm happy to share any "work" that i've done with anyone..so don't be shy.
Cheers
hey bro! i was playing around with the htc.com.resources.apk too! was trying to edit the lockscreen to a different style but too encounter the exact same problems as you faced!
apparently this guy, odin13 in his post
"clear sense lockscreen for Cronos 1.7.1"
managed to edit the htc.com.resources.apk without any facing any problems like us. im actually using his edited htc.com.resources.apk for clear lockscreen right now..
Cheers for the reply, bit of a flummoxing problem. I'll try an find odin and see if he can help!
Please anyone else feel free to help me here :-D
Hi guys,
Sorry for my late response but i just noticed the msg i got...
I'm really sorry but i really can't help you with this problem.
You should better ask it in the Villain forum since i'm no developer or some like that.
The boyz at Villain will definately be able to help you out with this or at least they can tell you what's going wrong.
The 'trick' with lockscreen is something i read once in a post ( can't remember which forum though ) so it's not even something i will take credit for.
Good luck bro and srry again for the late response!
hoi,
odin
Hey thanks for getting back to me man, greatly appreciated. Those boys at villain did solve it, i think it was a combination of pulsar & ultimately shen who sorted me out.
For stuff like the lockscreen and sense interface you need to create an update signed zip file and flash that way. no more loss of contacts which is great!
Happy days!
Hi,
First off thanks to all the developers. I bought a DHD a couple of weeks ago. With the help of some very useful noob guides (thanks again) its all rooted and booted, out of its shackles and ready to fly as it was meant to. I have put cyanogen6.1.0 RC2 on it and I love it.
The only issue I am having so far is to do with the keyboard. I have fat fingers and often mis type or get mis auto corrected. to fix I have to tap on the area of text I need to correct. Problem is fat fingers mean cant put the cursor exactly where I want and a few seconds of unnecessary frustration. On my previous Magic I could scrol with the roller ball.
Anyways to conclude my essay, the HTC sense keyboard that was originally on my phone had arrows that would allow me to move around (good for fat fingers) the cyanogen keyboard doesnt (not so fat finger friendly).
Is there a way I can find the HTC sense Keyboard apk and use on the cyanogen? Where do I find this file?
Sorry for the long post,
here you go this is as close as youll get to sense keyboard

Never fear things are much, much better in Gingerbread. Cyanogenmod 7 will alleviate all your woes. I've been told by the developers that it even cures cancer and of course there will be no world hunger if everyone has Gingerbread to eat.
Sent from my Gingerbread eating Desire HD.
When is CM 7 out?
@ fkofilee thanks muchos
Fat finger loving, cancer busting, sweet gingerbread crumbs in the shape of cyanogen 7 for my DHD bird! boom boom! You have my attention.
I just tried the HTC_IME_hi22. I have selected it (ticked it) in my 'Language and Keyboard' and in the settings tried to mess about with swipe gestures to move between words. No luck. The keyboard seems exactly the same as it was before and fat finger issue still persists. Do I need to somehoe deactivate the old keyboard? can I not find the apk from my sense rom and drop it into cyanogen rom?
I see you have enabled the keyboard, but have you selected it? Press and hold on text entry box and choose "Input method", then select "HTC_IME mod". Your new keyboard will now be used.
Elementary my dear watson! Thanks,
Thats exactly what I had not done! the app looks the part, but still no luck from the finger swipe and navigation arrows. Ive had a look at swype and one or two others. they dont have this navigation either. Fat fingers crossed for gingerbread
to serve this key can be changed, thanks
HTC Sense Keyboard for Incredible S/CM7
I realize this is the Desire HD forum, but I thought I would post here first before starting a new thread. I've been searching around for a while, and along with this thread, I found another (link below), that provides links to and HTC sense keyboard .apk that can be used instead of the stock CM7 keyboard. I used the Sense keyboard for almost a year on my Incredible S before I installed CM7, and so really miss the long press for special characters, as well as the auto-correct feature I came to rely on so much.
My question is, If I download and install one of these .apk's (either the one in this thread, or the thread I linked), SHOULD it work on the Incredible S, or do I need to find an .apk specific to my phone. I tired installing the one from the link, but when trying to switch to it in the Messaging app, it just force closes right away.
Apologies if there is already a thread related to this for the Incredible S. I did some searching but couldn't find anything. And of course, Thanks in advance for any help you folks can provide.

Seriously dude? There is a Q&A thread for things like this for one and yout question has nothing to do with themes.
You can just download gingerbread keyboard from the market and enable it from settings.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Got it.
Thanks

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but the HTC_IME_hi22 actually worked on my RaZr. Only problem, there is a bit of a gap on the right side. So the keyboard seems to be slightly 'left aligned' badly put.
Can any1 help me with this. Am on RaZr, qHD screen.
hi guys,
i just flashed the 'Energy.XPERIA.28244.Sense2.5.Feb.01' rom onto my dads x1, which was still stock from the day he bought it haha.
the flashing process went fine, but the camera flash doesnt work, nor can i find the setting to activate it.
Also, is there any way to make the font size in the sms app bigger? i already set it to largest in the font size, but is there a zoom function of sorts or a mod to make it even bigger? even on largest, its still a tad small for my dad.
thanks guys,
kylec

Hi,
I've searched and even PM'd a couple of people but haven't got anywhere so far with this...
I've ported a rom from the Desire S to the Incredible S and it's rather lovely but I can't get the backlights on the buttons to work. There is a script that I can run once booted but it only lasts one boot so you have to run it again each time - also, rotation doesn't work but that's not a killer really, just a nice to have.
It's only a GB 2.3.7 based rom built on Cyanogen 7.2RC2 so I know this is something very simple for a lot of devs out there (most roms have it working already) but I'm very new at all this and having a hard time teaching myself pretty much anything!
I'm very willing to put the work in but I'm really struggling so anything anyone can do to help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
DF
You need to decompile the framework-res.apk
go to res/values and open arrays.xml in a note editor
Scroll down to I think it is config_autoBrightnessButtonBacklightValues
Edit the values (make them like the LCD backlight)
Recompile the apk
I recommend using apk tool for this
OR
You can just copy the arrays.xml from another CM7 rom to save you the trouble
And a question for you, what rom is it?
Oh I could just kiss you! That is great, I've decompiled and can't find arrays.xml but I don't care cos it is a push in the right direction and now I'm rolling... I'll find it somewhere!
The rom is called IncredibleSmoke. It is a port of BlindSMOKE (a mooke os) from blindndumb and it really is a very nice rom to use... It's in the developers forum (but that version had all the device details in build.prop wrong so I will replace it as soon as I get the lights working).
Also have a little issue with the volume controls on the rom. Voice quality isn't great in calls so I have to work on that too.
So you've got it working?
The rom looks awesome, clean looking
Sorry I can't help you with that
Anyway, are you going to post it??
Took a while to get the files. Neither of my source roms had those files (worrying) so I went and got the generic Cyanogen 7.2 release for the Incredible and pulled the files from there. Applying it in a few mins after I finish taking a backup to see if I got it right... Fingers crossed it will work and if it does then yes, I'll be uploading it
After that I'll start to work on the voice quality issues (currently a bit loud, volume in call is not very responsive and the other end can hear an echo).
Hmm. Not so successful. Not that the lights might not have worked but unfortunately can't boot so restoring and I'll go have a look at what I done wrong. Maybe I killed it in the decompile/compile as I don't think the addition of the files itself would have knackered it.
Anyway, second try will come soon
Hi guys.
I've noticed that practicaly every custom rom based on stock have problem with textures in topbar.
Yes, I know that 99% people don't see any problem, but I see them every time I take the phone in hands.
See this two screenshots.
Problems:
Background under career name (Image: public.egerev.me/1.png)
Background in the center of topbar (look at the location icon) (Image: public.egerev.me/2.png)
How to fix it?
it's not really a "problem" as all ROMS are based off of the stock ROM and so it's HTC's fault and therefore doesn't need fixing, nor do I know if this can even be changed.
Actually it can be fixed by someone who is good at themes but I'm not sure if anyone is going to put forth the effort.

But in official rom everything is ok. Problem appears only in ROM's with modded UI.

I see. Good luck finding a fix for that because I've no idea how to go about this.
Invite Bad Boyz Sprint ONE ROMz and Rage One developers to thread.
May be others too. But I've tested both ROM's and noticed this problem. (Couldn't reply in their threads because of restrictions)
