Hello everyone,
Just a quick question. Maybe someone tried all of our beloved ICS roms and kernels? If yes, could you please share your experience with them? I would be grateful! Testing requires tons of time .. which i do not have much.
Currently on CM9 Owain 79 build with Jarvis v7 kernel with apex launcher, OC 14** mhz. Well battery life is enough for me, actually is great (3days of light usage), just feeling some latency. Any tips (don't use that, use that, etc..)?
P.s. I know all the builds are great and all the combos are great for someone and for someone not, because of ridiculous angle of different p990 region devices. Just share your experience if you have tried and find something great! Thank you!

First of all, since hardware acceleration isn't present as well as the other drivers for ICS on our phone, you won't get it as fluid as Gingerbread was.
What you can do however is to test Owain's rom without Jarvis kernel as i've noticed that the Jarves kernel doesn't get rid of any UI lag at all.
Secondly, if what LG's facebook page says is true, we'll get an official ICS build somewhere in Q3 meaning pretty soon.. Now i know LG hasn't kept it's word before... but hey if this is true, your problem will be solved soon enough.
If you really want your phone to be nearly lag free, i'd suggest switching back to CM7-based ROMs for a while.
I tried nova hd. Perfectly developed I think. It has very few bugs and incredibly fast. Try it with lightning speed kernel.

have you installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1730872 ? With the dalivk fix your rom should be very buttery smooth
I tried EaglesBlood AOSP - so far its very smooth too but then i missed some settings from CM and went over to paranoid+Jarvis 7.
Cheers
Currently running xxMrHyde unofficial build with nova kernel 1.0.7 and it's doing great.. though battery drains much faster compared to cm7..
Running MIUIv4 (bihariel's build). MIUI has simply stunning looks and its theming engine (and available themes) are simply awesome.
Be advised, you need to sacrifice a bit of performance a functionality on MIUI over other ICS builds like CM9, only for its looks, but i love it so much that for me, its worth it
will the official ICS version have hardware gpu acceleration? or we will never see ics with hardware gpu acc on our phone?

I also running v4 MIUI by bihariel. I agree that the management issues is something exceptional. But I must say that I have tried many roms and gb ics and have not found a difference in performance or slow as you say. Using another launcher, so MIUI home which is very heavy and a couple of kill app to lighten the ram, perhaps because of this.
However, all the rom try this is extraordinary.

Not sure about the big differences in roms, but if you want a smooth CM9 launcher, I recommend LG UI 3.0! smoother than samsung touchwiz home, nova, trebuchet. Not had anything smoother since then.

LG 3.0 IU tried rom NOVA HD and it seemed a little heavy, maybe on this rom. Instead I am comfortable with Xperia launcher 0.9.1b + widgets and icons support. I also used on other rom, stable and lightweight.

Well, the launcher along with its customizability (icons etc) is one if the main reasons to choose MIUI over cm, so changing that would ruin all the fun

[KERNEL] HorsePower 2x, [ROM] PARANOIDNANDROID v1.5
Hello all together,
I have a short question and I hope my school-english will be enough so you can understand.
My O2X was suffering from some strange battery-drain-issue while using the latest CM7 nightly. Because of that I flashed to the latest version of the "PARANOIDANDROID v1.5 [Build 2]"-ROM. Now I am experiencing some strange problem:
1. My phone seems to do a short "break" before it opens up any app. That means, I tap on the icon and for approx. 1-2 seconds, there is nothing happening. Then the app starts. Is this normal?
2. When playing a game ( e.g. Defender II ), it runs very very smooth for the first few minutes but then it starts to stutter around so bad that it becomes unplayable... seems like a RAM-related problem to me?
When I came from CM7, I did a full wipe and restored no apps. I am using the BB 725 with the V20f-RIL and my service provider is Congstar ( D1 ).
I first tried the latest Harsh-Kernel and then switched to the latest Nova-Kernel-Pure-Edition, but that did not lead to any success concerning my problem.
I also tried several settings like zRAM, Kernel Samepage etc. but also no success here.
Apart from this, the ROM is running awesome, very smooth scrolling, hilarious battery life, everything fine. But those two problems are really annoying me.
I would be so grateful if you could help me. Thanks very much in advance!
Greetings!

Please do a full wipe, including /system, then reflash and first try it with the stock kernel.
I have none of these issues.
Oh and: disable zRam (compcache), that's not perfectly working on our 2x.

Hi Guys,
after about 2 Hours of searching I'm trying this way
Is it possible to port the Framework with the Look and Feel of MIUI (including Launcher, Lockscreen, Lockscreen with Incoming Call, and so on...) to Cyanogenmod? Maybe not the launcher, LauncherPro is quite Perfect
I really like the MIUI Lockscreen and also when getting an incoming call but theres no theme to get this look.
I've tried to replace the whole framework in Cyanogen with the one included in MIUI but this gave me only Bootloops and I'm not really familiar with Java Code

why don't use just use miui rom , it's cm based ...
i also love the LOOK of miui rom, but its not as good as cm.
for one its based on quite an old rc 1 for our 2x, then the cammera sux there (but that can b changed), also it manages storage in some weird way which suggests that i dont even have an external sd, also i can not get my mobile data on any version of miui working. its sad, i really love the look. but cm is just better.
@xilw3r , I have long been on the CM, for some time I went on MIUI (1.9.30), it's not worse than the CM, I can say to you

I beg to disagree on this. I used MIUI 1.9.30 for about a week, and in the short span of time, I've had more issues than I've ever had all the other ROMs combined. It tends to lose data and/or voice connectivity for no apparent reason. It also forced a hard power-off while it was connected to a charger and didn't want to power back on until I pulled the battery out. I've never had this issue with the stock, leaked ROMs (e.g. 20e, 20i), or CM.
I love the look and feel of MIUI but its stability leaves much to be desired.

I've tried MIUI as well but I have to agree with the guys, it's not good as Cyanogen. MIUI isn't as fast as CM and for me it wasn't really stable to use.
Also I had a hugh Battery Drain in MIUI and this is a No-Go for a daily-driver...
Yes muiu is very much laggy compared with cm

I´m using Miui 1.9.30 Roadrunner Edition (german) and since the newest update it´s ****ing fast!
I had CM7 on my last phone but now i won´t give Miui away
I'm using MIUI 1.9.30 netDrg EXT4 + VorkKernel + tweak Pack from Owain94.
Today I tried to test the latest CM (7.1.0 stable), and..... my MIUI is most faster
Miui is comvienent to use, but so much slower than CM... :S Had lots of issues to install owain's tweak on miui. Miui was always lagging when placing a widget on the laucher. :S Just felt bad after CM.
For some reason, I had a lot of issues with 1.9.30, but I decided to give another shot when 1.10.8 was released.
I am in an awkward situation where I am forced to swallow my own words written only a few days ago. It's fast, stable, and best of all, very battery friendly. I went through the whole day (14+ hours) with 45% to spare. That's the best battery life I've seen out of this phone with any ROM.
I don't give a whole lot of credit to the synthetic benchmarks, but it does really well on the stock MIUI/CM kernel. I am consistently getting 3700+ on Quadrant and 930'ish on Vellamo.
Anyone can port it?
Which is the best ics rom now available, which have 720p recording, fm radio etc
After trying a couple of them, I am sticking to custom GB ROM (MIUI Mintberry) as stability and "everything works" is more important for me. Every ICS ROM I tried needed some or the other compromise to be made.
But to answer your question, I personally felt one by team ICSSGS was good though they have pulled their latest beta 4 due to issues. You could try DrZmiui if you like the MIUI interface.
MIUI is a very good ICS rom, but Mobile tethering doesnt work.
Anyone else who have this problem?
I am on ICSSGS RC4 . It works like a charm, wifi and usb tethering also.
I am still watching on battery usage, but seems to be as a Ginger Rom

well, that question that you asks us is hard to answer because it's different for every user.
Well, I like MIUI a lot so i've recently start using DrZmiui's ROM and it works like a charm. But heard a lot of good news about mintberry, so if you really want to know you've got to compare them and maybe install them all just once to compare.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned cm9 yet. It works smoothly for me, but like all ICS roms, the lack of ram on the SGS causes minimised apps to occasionally close. That's pretty much the only weakness I see in the rom.

No, ICSSGS is an AOSP meaning "as google intended"
Im on CM9 and its a stable ROM, but there is no fmradio So you can try TEAMICS
does it have the power widget and ad hoc wifi support?
Also, I had earlier tried OneCosmic's build, currently using teamhacksung. So far I like teamhacksung build 15 barring some minor issues. like headphone icon doesn't appear, mic doesn't work, gps icon doesn't appaer in status bar, but it is in power widget, so not major issue. And now I noticed youtube app not playing anything, though browser is able to play.

Are these roms will receive updates to 4.0.4 ? (for nexus it's already out)
I used CM9 build 15, still alot not working and alot of FC's.
Went back to CM7, think they need a little bit more time to get the rom stable.
I am using ICSSGS RC3.1 for past two weeks still now I haven't faced any issues. Its a smooth ICS ROM.
Badly waiting for RC4, which they have pulled due to some serious WIFI/Data issues.
ICSSGS it certainly is.
I fully agree with devav, Team ICSSGS' rom's the best around for now ), even if it's RC3.1 (I'm too waiting for RC4). There you can find working 720p HD video @ 30fps that REALLY works (no stutter), panorama photography, face unlock, fully working hardware acceleration, music player, e-mail, Holo UI with all its eyecandy etc. (~98% of all rom is working).
NOTICE: ICS is a quite new OS which is primarily optimized for modern dual- or even quad-core processors and ~1024Mb RAM. So you have to get yourself an appkiller / any other RAM emptier + auto cache cleaner because of the ICS' memory-hunger. ICS can be a bit laggy when using stock 100/1000 clocks.
I highly recommend an OC with undervolting (to save juice).
My settings are:
GOV: smartass v2
MAX: 1200MHz (UV)
MIN: 400MHz (UV), and my battery lasts for 7-8 hours of moderate usage and my phone being able to run team ICSSGS' rom pretty flawlessly.

I've had my OG droid for over two years, and I think I've tried every possible ROM there is. The Gingerbread ROM are nice, but they lag really badly on the device. It doesn't have the CPU or memory to handle it well enough. You could do it, but things like the camera and games will almost always end up bogging the device to unresponsive.
I've had the best luck with Liquid Frozen Yogurt 1.95. It s a 2.2.1 ROM (Froyo) and it is really smooth. The camera actually works which is a problem for most of the GB ROMs. Bugless Beast is also a good ROM.

What's wrong with CM 7.2.0 RC1 by kabaldan? I'm planing to install it on my 2.2 stock ROM but retain the 600mhz frequency for battery life reason. Would I suffer worse performance than my current stock?
thanks
I'm in the same boat as the OP.
I am setting up my friend's OG Droid and I'm curious the best ROM.
I have to say I'm pretty happy with CM 7.1 stable release so far. It works great so far and I haven't noticed any problems. The camera seems fine.
Is GB really that bad?
I did try CM 7.2 experimental build (from CM download page) and it was working great until I noticed that the flashlight app, torch wouldn't work. I really wanted it to work in the Power Widget. After screwing around with it for quite a while, I ended reflashing back to CM7.1 stable.
Assuming games won't be games played on the device, I think that CM7 is the way to go unless there are more RAM-hogging apps running. I'm a newb to the OG Droid though.
*EDIT*
P.S. Do you guys have a favorite recovery? I am using CWM 2.5.0.1. The weird thing is it doesn't display Dalvik as wiped when I wipe Dalvik Cache. I dunno if it is a problem or not. I actually searched around a fair bit. What is the best recovery for the OG Droid? Stability, nandroids, and functionality are key. I don't care about touch interface.
Thanks. Feel free to flame me if I am overlooking this info.
recovery i use minimod, hava any scripts (supercharge), unistall system apps, backup apps and have a script to wipe a ext partition.
I used all roms for milestone and cm6 (or shadowmod discontinued a long time ago ) is the best, the only one it works fine, another roms always have a problem with performance (i don't play in my phone).
I have been runnning a rooted overclocked (800mhz) stock rom for ages, but still had issues with it freezing when surfing and quitting apps.
Yesterday I finally got round to changing to CM 7.2.0 RC1. Performance is so much better, more options, smoother scrolling, but the battery life is worse. I had to charge it twice today which is usually a rare occurance. So I have knocked it back down to 800mhz again from 1ghz, setup the 2g toggle, and made a few other tweeks. Will see how that does for now, but if not then will look into battery calibration.
I rarely use my phone for gaming, so couldn't comment on the performance, but if its anything like what I experienced elsewhere you should be happy. Slightly earlier builds have been mentioned to have a better battery life too.
Hope that helps
Best ROM on the Milestone right now? MIUI 2.4.20 hands down.
Damn... new users can't post outside link but Google it.
And btw, it seems that the ROM was designed for Chinese Milestone so the physical keyboard layout is kinda messed up if you use Europe or HK milestone. And since I don't use the physical keyboard at all so it's not a huge problem. But seriously, this is the best damn thing you can put on a Milestone, try it out
Cheers

While it will probably work better than a stock ROM, I'd suggest you try a Froyo based ROM. The biggest issue with GB on a Milestone is the RAM. I tried out every single workaround I came across for over a year, only to end up going back to CM6 (vikasbn's version).

That's the one I'm currently using and so far it's worked like charm. It's also the only one that seems to be updated.
Hello everyone,
I have an A853 (Milestone). I am looking for advice on what SBF and ROM to install, and how to optimize the performance.
I hope it is ok for me to join this thread (instead of opening a new one). Below are my concerns; I am looking forward to advice from experienced forum members (reading from your posts, you definitively are experienced):
1. underlying firmware (OS)
If I understand correctly, due to the locked bootloader I can only change which kernel I will be running by flashing a different SBF file:
- SHOLS_U2_02.31.0 (I believe this is stock Eclair?)
- SHOLS_U2_05.26.3 (and this should be stock Froyo?)
Which SBF should I flash my phone with, so that the ROM I will later choose will work best? Of course, I'll apply a vulnerable SBF afterwards.
2. ROM
I am most keen on MIUI (the latest and final build for this device is 2.4.20?), since I was using it before and I really like its user interface. However, I experienced some problems with it (unresponsive/laggy, not receiving SMS messages after some time, etc.).
Is the MIUI-derivate NIMIUI any better? Moreover, I saw there is another ''chef'' quynhnt that is further developing NIMIUI but I see user responses that it is kind of buggy?
I've tried FroyoMOD which seemed the fastest to me (although I would be really missing MIUI features), however it did not let me connect to my home WiFi (WPA2+AES+Radius) so I let it go.
ICS seems kind of no-go to me because Milestone only has 256MB of RAM (which is very little); I've tried the unofficial alpha CM9 and although everything worked, it was just too laggy. I believe the unofficial MIUI v4 would be the same.
Any suggestions? I am leaning towards official MIUI but with thorough testing of incoming SMS (I can't afford not to receive them) and additional optimizations that are decribed below. Or am I missing something?
3. optimizations
SuperCharger
Definitively I would like to use the SuperCharger V6 (or is it V8 - any differences?). Which settings profile should I select based on the following demands:
- I don't play games on my phone
- I want a responsive phone with no lag
- The most demanding app I use is Exchange sync (6 accounts), nothing more
Build.prop modifications?
Should I take care of anything here? Maybe change the Dalvik heap size (to what?)
ext3 on sdcard
Can this somehow help me? I have prepared a functioning ext3 partition on my sd, I just don't know if it is possible to somehow manage a swapfile on it and if this should help my phone being less laggy? Can MIUI handle this out-of-the-box?
I kindly thank to anyone who would be willing to help me with advice.
Best regards, d11
I got an OG Droid i use for multimedia... The screen is crystal clear with LIquid Smooth... the launcher sometimes gets buggy but everything works including torch etc... It basically made an old system useful again. I'll try out other system and post my results... Froyo versions first and so on...
Hi!
I recently updated my IS to the newest Android 4 and god, it's slow. There is lag everywhere, I click on a icon and it takes like a second for screen to appear. The previous version was much smoother.
I disabled the animations and it seems to helped a bit, is there anything else I can do? Or just revert to the older version?
Anybody else experiencing the same problem?
Thanks

Thats a known problem with stock ICS
If you flash a custom rom, generally they are faster
for example I had Ice Cold for a few months, rock solid and super fast
I bought my incredible more than one year ago and I've never thought to unlock and go with custom rom until i got the last OTA. I was so disappointed i flashed Nik's project x almost the same day. You should really consider trying a custom rom. If you like stock appearance you could try android revolution HD i bet it will perform way better than stock ics

Thanks for your confirmations!
I'll try a custom ROM then.
As for the appearance I use a custom homepage anyway.
After using CM7 for a while, which was great, I upgraded to IceCold 8.1.1. I found it slow and laggy. Then I updated to Official Stock ICS. Same. I updated the radio to the '11' version. Still the same. Now I am using Ice Cold 8.3. Still the same. I did full wipe, and restored apps with Titanium.
I am very frustrated. I want ICS, but I am thinking of going back to CM7.2. I should be happy with IceCold, but I'm not. Slow, laggy, and lots of 'not responding' messages. Facebook app is the worst - almost unusable.
Any ideas anyone? I have:
IceColdSandwich 8.3 Rossi
4EXT Recovery
Blackrose 2.02 S-OFF
Ice cold is not laggy for me at all
How long have you let the ROM settle before deeming it laggy?
What clock speed for CPU? And maybe try go to recovery and clear both cache an dalvik cache, and make sure to do that after every rom flash if you don't already
Just that most of us are having a smooth nearly flawless ICS experience, hard to think only you are having problems

@jcr67: It's funny how mine is the other way round. I mean I didn't use the stock ROM (or whatever it is called) and installed CM 7.2 as soon as I got my phone because I didn't like the stock UI at all and I had seen CM 7.2 running on DHD with my cousin so I was kinda impressed. I kept using it until I visited my cousin and comparing both the phones (play store, I had a topic on that) was just awful. My play store searching, loading, agreement would take ages. I had been trying lots of ROMs until I came across Ice cream sandwich ROMs and the speeds were great (Virtuous Vivo) but it was the stock UI again which got me bored. I, yesterday, came across a topic by Nathan about Incredible S ROMs and battery life and after reading each and every post, I knew IceColdSandwich is my next ROM or I am selling this ****. Then and now, this is the best ROM I tried till now. No lag, great UI (after theme installation that was in the topic itself, it's become even greater). The only problem I am having is with my battery life. I had this on other ROMs too. So all I can say is that I am more than just satisfied with this ROM.
Try reinstalling the ROM by after running the SuperWipe script (inside the Android Revolution HD ROM topic.)
Sorry for the long post.

i have the same problem ..
could any one help how to return to official old Android ROM before 4.0. version ?
Update - It is getting better!

Ignore my earlier comments, re IceCold.
I always clear dalvik, wipe etc, when installing. But I repeated this anyway, just to make sure. I let it settle down. It got better. And better. And now I have V6 supercharged it.
It's pretty great now.
Except for the battery life. I'm getting not much more than half a day, without doing much.
Usually I ensure that the following are disabled unless I really want them:
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- GPS
- Vibration (keyboard)
- keyboard tones
- USB debugging
Optional: Automatic brightness turned off and set brightness to comfortable level
If you are overclocking it try to use it at usual clock speed. Overclocking consumes more battery.

I started to use custom ROM after upgrade to ICS. Laggy, even.the apps & notification drawer also laggy.
for me the latest ota ics upgrade is quite good, just sometimes i can feel that things just dun get smooth enough, made my mind and tried few custom roms. Most of them are just really gud in term of performances and looks. Now im gud to go with ice cold rom, much better than official rom of course, and on the battery issue, just make sure u turn off anything u dun need when u dun need them
I find ARHD 3.0.1 with V6 Supercharger script properly installed (no KickAssKernelizer cos I want to wait for a custom kernel) and ultrasmooth rosie.apk to be a fairly smooth running experience.
Tip:
I've improved battery life and reduced common running temperature and hence increased performance/stability/speed by simply running GSM only instead of GSM/HSPA unless I'm in a good signal zone and want to browse data quickly. (I'm talking 2G/3G switching in the mobile network settings.. may not be labelled gsm/hspa in some ROMs). This is a good bet, especially when indoors. I live in a basement so signal drops are more steep for the higher frequency 3G signal.
This should be true for any ROM. Anywhere your data browsing is slow to heart-rendingly unusable.. should definitely save battery, reduce temp, and improve text and call reception to switch to GSM only!

OK, I have a simple question: Is any ICS custom ROM as fast as the Gingerbread stock ROM? OR do I need to find a way do downgrade to Gingerbread? Which will be a pain in the bottom parts...

I find project X to be really quick and doesn't seem to struggle with multiple apps running I.e spotify, Facebook and chrome.
Easy to flash too!

For 'We Want CS' I still can see lag when open apps drawer & pull down notification. Anyway, its still better than OTA update.

There have now been severel JellyBean ROMS released for the HTC Incredible S.
I was hoping that I could get some opinion on how well each one is working.
So far i have found the following ROMS:
Codename Android and JellyBean Evolution by Nic
There is a comparison of them here.
The thread pretty much outlines that they are smooth bountiful ROMS which they are. They work really well, however, I have noticed some extra things wrong with them other then the outlined ones:
-Loudspeaker does not work and breaks the mic for the call.
-Sometimes the text on the homescreen becomes blurred, you have to lock the screen for a while to get that to go away.
-The full screen videos crash the phone, the fix doesn't work on my phone.
The next ROM i have seen is the CyanVivo X mod. I haven't tried this one but it seems like it has all the same problems. Front camera doesn't work. Full screen vids etc.
There is one that has been released recently:
It is an unofficial CM release:
It seems to have solved all of the problems with the ROM, the front camera works, it seems like it is quick, the only thing it doesnt handle is video camera. Can anyone tell me about problems with this ROM.
I was hoping to make a good Thread which compares each of these ROMs and which ones are the best?
The first two are just ROMs to say you have JB on your phone, both are buggy but some people can live with this and use them daily. These were the first JB ROMs, the same Dev got them running then support stopped.
CV10 is the breakthrough JB ROM, Dev working on it and the ROM has potential. More stable than the first two ROMs as Dev focusing on the kernel, currently still got a couple of bugs which some people can live with to be able to use the ROM daily. Keep an eye on this thread for development progress and regular feedback.
CM10 has a ninja for a Dev, works in the background and appears absent from the forum. Then ROM appears. The ROM currently seems to be the most stable/complete JB ROM and has least bugs. Many people using this as a daily use ROM. But is the Dev still working on it to perfect it, how long until the next update... nobody knows!
I tried this ROM, battery life seemed short, I struggled to get a days normal use from one charge. Plus I wanted my video camera to be working so I can film my young kids when I needed to. Back on ICS/sense ROM now.
These are just my own crude opinions.

there is a paranoid android JB ROM by Nikhil: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1863862
I had used the ones you have listed below as well as the paranoid android ROM.. i found the paranoid to be less buggy...give it a shot.. it is a very different visual experience.. the rom is based on CM9.. you will have some minor issues:
1. front camera won't work
2. Adjusting in call volume resets the ringtone volume
3. Google now may not work..
4. tablet mode won't have an option to enable USB connectivity...
...
Give it a try; apart from the above issues, it is a very stable ROM; i was on it for about 6 months with no issues..
1. It is a different experience altogether - not many tweaks is what I found but a visual delight
2. google now issue will be resolved after you flash the "4.1 to 4.2" package; it will also introduce photosphere: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1991734

From reading the thread on the paranoid android it looks like it has more bugs then the Unofficial CM ROM. Things including permenant sleep and crashing with full screen video, which i experienced with the original ROMS from Nik.
The only problems I have with the Unofficial ROM is that the battery drains quite quickly (About 10Hrs on Battery with Juice Defender Pro), it can be a bit Laggy at times which i didn't experience with Niks ROMS and sometimes it doesn't quite wake up properly, (The button lights come on but you have to wait a bit for the screen)
Hi,
My experience with the ROM was different.. yes is an issue with the full screen video but the thread mentions the solution.. I did not have any issues with phone not-able-to-sleep... the battery was also good - it used to last atleast a day with good usage on calls...
With tools like 'Easy Battery Saver' it even touched 2 days with normal usage..
I was on the ROM for six months with no issues.. also i did not use the default launcher bundled with the ROM; I had installed APEX launcher rather..

Try turning off network based location in gps settings and rebooting the phone. it's a known bug with cm. :/
Are you only looking at CM/AOSP/AOKP roms?
I really don't think any are ready for daily use. Every one I used I thought was okay, then I needed to use the camera or some setting and it would crash. I'm going to wait for szezso to make a fully working kernel.
I think I'm going to test lacoste right now though... I'll tell you what I think.

I've been using dla5244's Unofficial CM10 for more than a week now. It's definitely a daily driver. With v2, even camcorder works wonderfully. I believe the v2 kernel is full featured and I can find no bugs at all so far.

What CPU governor are you using? I once switched to Interactive with some bad tweaks which resulted in something like you're experiencing now. After switching to ondemand/smartassv2 everything is fine now.
