Google Now port - HTC Incredible S

Is anyone working on porting Google Now for our IS?
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda app-developers app

I'd like to see a Google Now port too =D
BTW: I've heard that Voice search with Google now is impossible because its linked with Jelly bean. But I'm pretty sure it got nothing to do with it and that we could replace it with our google voice search. Am i wrong?

I have it now, on ice cold but the voice search is not working obviously
But searching with keyboard still works

How did you get it? I tried flashing it from another thread and got stuck at HTC boot logo....(had to reflash my rom after)

Voice search is what excites me. Anybody working on it? Or is it not possible to implement on ICS.

I just took the apk and lib and put them in the right places in es file explorer, and set the right permissions
Flashing didn't work for me either

Can you give me link to apk and lib? I'll try now using your method. Thanks!

Hot Boot Feature

IHTFP69 was nice enough to prepare a hot boot patch for us Virtuous users. This is based on version 3.1 - flash at your own risk. Don't forget to nandroid first!!! Flash in Clockwork Mod and you'll have reboot in your power menu with 4 options (Recovery, Bootloader, Normal and Hot Boot).

I use the hot reboot all the time and it works in the HD rom.
Redemption Revolution has a working hot reboot. Believe Redemption ROM does too. Ask Lou.

You can buy it on the market, or use SkyRaider3.3 which has hibernate as well. I go back and forth between SR and stock with the 3-in-1 reboot feature and the hot reboot from the market.
That thread you posted worked great. Any idea how to change up the icons?
If I were to supply the icons, would someone be able to swap them out? I'm assuming the icons are embedded in the jar file... if anyone can guide on where I can find out how to edit the jar file, I'd appreciate it. The jar file is all that I am pushing to my phone and the icons are still changing on the power menu so they must be in there somewhere.
Help a guy learn! ;p
The actual system icons are only in framework-res.apk and no where else. For Sense roms, there are also some in com.htc.resources.apk. There are only references to them in the framework (jar) files.
Holy ****... how in the hell is it possible that flashing that hotboot zip in the thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=792542
I flashed that and all of my icons were different... black and white only and different graphics. I'll post a screenshot shortly.
Here we go.. Is the jar file maybe referencing different png files?
Edit: can't upload this format. I'll convert it when I'm on the computer.

That's because its a system app. You have to put it in /system/app/ with a root capable file explorer. Change permissions to match the rest of the apps there too.

Yes indeed! I guess I forgot to mention that I'm one of the low-life bums who haven't rooted yet (might not either) and am wondering if someone can create an installable .apk . I realize the earlier version that was posted is installable, but as was stated in the post, the resolution is not correct.
Just root it... I rooted mine within about 10 minutes of ownership

[Tool][1-20-12]Stock App Installer

Here it is, a stock app installer!!!
What is this?
This is an all in one tool to install any stock app that was removed with GingerVolt. This will only work on a deodexed rom with my Blitzkrieg kernel or stock kernel that came with GingerVolt. If there are any problems, please let me know! Some apps may not like being dodexed and in turn not work. I make no promises on the apps working once installed, I just provided them and a tool to make it easier. Also, GingerVolt Rom includes the App Widget Picker, so the LG widgets will work on any launcher!!!

How do I use this?
1.) Download the .zip & extract
2.) Make sure drivers are installed
3.) Connect phone and put phone in Internet Connection mode
4.) Open folder
5.) Run StockAppInstaller.bat
6.) Follow options to install whichever apps you want
7.) Reboot when done

Brilliant tool. I cannot however seem to get the stock alarm app to show up anywhere. Any suggestions? I am sure it is something I am doing wrong or missed.

You may have to delete the alarm clock app in the rom first with root explorer. It may just not overwrite it.

I am having trouble locating the file I would need to copy. I thought it was alarm.apk but I cannot check the stock install because I do not have the tools to access my backup system.img
Any ideas? I could have sworn it was alarm.apk on the stock image.
