Rogers Raider with holics - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

I have a rogers raider its updated to ics by ota then I unlocked bootloader. And used vivid all in one and have cwm recovery on my phone. I tried to perma root but it didn't stick because it was still stock Rom. So who can I use holics without s-off?

I'm s-on and I have succesfully installed holics rom in the past, the last version I tested was 9.b.
Just follow the instrucciones in the guide and flashing the kernel manually using fastboot command

Go to the Android Development Section and follow the SuperGuide to the letter... It will explain to you in great detail how to install ROMs and flash kernals even if you are S-on.

[Q] Primadonna/AuraSense/Quattro

I got the Problem that Primadonna/NiksAuraSense/Quattro doesnt boots for me. Its not because the Oc Value. Not because of Wipe cause I wiped everything. Also the Sd card too. Everything exept the Rom.zip
It must be something from the boot.img (reflash it via fastboot doesn't workes too).
I think It's the Virtuous Oc but idk how to disable it.
My Phone have the Blackrose HBoot 2.00 S-Off, 14_M Radio, latest 4ext Touch Recovery and I got it shipped with Hboot 2.00 too but unlocked via Htcdev, downgraded and so on.
Anybody can help me?

Ahh I'm unsure tbh I've only ever used CWM. Couldn't you just install cwm over it to erase it or something ?

Have you try wait for it longer time?..mine take some time to boot up too.
Swyped from my ics device using tapatalk
First boot takes couple of mins but I assume he's flashed before. There must be a logical reason. Is it possible to flash a different kernel to begin with other than the one in the boot.img?
Sent from my Incredible S using xda premium
I wait about 15 min but just a annoying black screen.
I dont know which other kernel to Flash bcos he wrote the Kernel completely self :s

Have you tried to use "fastboot flash boot boot.IMG" via computer? If this method work, please flash the hboot back to eng for a better result.

I believe tiatmat and ice cold kernels should work basically any ICS ones. Got nothing to lose by trying one of them I suppose?
Sent from my Incredible S using xda premium
Alright, I try it right now with the latest tiamat for ics.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda premium
Edit: It boots, but System not responding, touchscreen not respondig, stucked ob this error.
But before it does "optimize Applications", 195 of them..
Edit2: Let it Boot with the latest Tiamat, pull Battery out and in, flash boot.img from Rom via fastboot and trying to let it boot againt doesnt works. It dont boots.
I'm literally all out of ideas then. Sorry

Engineering hboot.

Does anyone have a copy of the engineering hboot that was posted here a month or so ago? The thread appears to have been removed.

I went looking through the forum for an ENG HBOOT but I didn't find anything at all. I wish someone would come forward with one though. Was it for the GB build or the ICS build?

Gb but it shouldn't matter. Should be able to flash it now and then just update it to the lastest firmware excluding the new hboot. I don't know why they deleted their post.

What about the ENG HBOOT of a Raider or Velocity? Could you use that? I'm looking for anything that might help.
Sent from my HTC Vivid
I think any eng hboot will work so long as its in the proper nbo format. Having it signed shouldn't matter now that we have s-off

Would it help to try to track down the owner of the prototype?
Found this post and was wondering if it would help or if it's too old:

EDIT: Or would this help? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1515969
Nope, we need an ICS ENG HBOOT as far as I know, if we want to continue using ICS. I'd rather have ICS than ENG HBOOT if I had to choose.
I'm pretty sure we don't. If you have the eng bootloader you can remove the bootloader from the ics firmware update and flash it in the bootloader and this should update the old eng hboot with the ics firmware minus the updated hboot.

So we can user that bootloader

Could you give us more details? What method are you using to flash the kernel? I'm assuming you are S-ON as well.
i am currently s-off with the hboot that came with s-off. im running stock ICS and i have root. i'm bootloader unlocked as well and i just flash the zip like a regular flash but at the end of the process the kernel ends up saying something about a failed assert. i'm currently running wcx recovery as well.
Whole thing says
assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/newboot.img", "boot")
This typically means you're coming from a stock ROM. Flash a custom ROM that as an insecure boot.IMG and then the kernel should flash without any problems.

S-off is kind of like rooting where as you need to **** off and read.

We don't use such softwares when rooting. We just download superuser.zip from www.clockworkmod.com and flash it via recovery.

BlackRose is a modified Bootloader for IncS that has S-Off enabled and supports the /Lib partition that was introduced in GB 2.3.5 and was carried over to ICS 4.0,4. You must be S-Off using Revolutionary.io before you can upgrade to BlackRose.
Is it necessary? I want to jast root & unlock the phone to install cyanogenmod 10.1 on any stable rom.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda app-developers app
Yes you can, but however you having unlocked your Inc. S with S - On, you will have to boot your boot.img. file manually, Or u will be stuck with the HTC splash screen for hours.
Just flash the boot file from the ROM you download
