Hi all,
Was wondering if anyone experience jerky performances.
I have about 10 pages of apps installed mostly games and stock apps.
When I use advance app killer, usually i see stock apps eg. facebook, browser, ebook, etc.. When I kill them all, performance doesn't improve much.
If the 10 pages are the reason, any way to know which is running in background and sucking up resources?
The performance of your Gtab is jerky coz of the apps that run in the background even if you close them they restart.. u cn use startup auditor app to increase performance... if all fails hard reset nd install only required Apps not the apps u don't use but run behind nd eat up RAM nd battery

a certain app may be using up too much background resources. try uninstalling the culprit. detct it by trial and error
I was in a similar situation until I last had to factory reset my Tab due to the whole issue with Google Apps Google Accounts not having access to Google Checkout on the Android Market.
Installed over 100 apps on my first day with the Tab (over-excited, I know ), and realized that my Tab started to lag when opening the app drawer. The problem became most apparent when I shut down or rebooted the Tab; it would literally take minutes to boot up, and often it would freeze and force close my launcher several times in a row.
I chalked it down to having too many apps, but later read that many apps start themselves up on boot even if they had no reason to (e.g. Amazon, Aldiko, etc.)
I've since only installed apps that I would really use throughout the day, but would you guys say that so long these apps do not run on startup (say I disable them using the Autostarts app), I can install a hundred or even two hundred apps without the boot up lag?
So there's no way to see which app is running in background and % memory used, similar to windows task manager?
When I use Advanced task killer, are those 'apps shown' considered as background apps or are background apps invisible?
From my RAM manager, I see like 180+ to 200mb out of 400+mb. I think that's the remaining RAM ?
Anyone knows the stock RAM out of the box?
It might be because carriers pre load crap on them

Installed the free startup app and found the culprits ... GAMELOFT games. They are huge in size and think they eat up the memory in background/at startup.
After disabling, all back to normal.

Why on earth would you want to detect it by trial and error when there is plenty of apps you can use to find it specifically?

Use a app like system panel, It will show you all the running apps and there memory/cpu consumption etc.

Hi every one, I have recommend for you to have more stable than when run android. If you often use any Task Manager app, please don't use option kill all app or auto kill app. It will make more eror, stop app, keypad die ! I don't use any Task Manager and it run more stable than other people !
Why? because don't like windows or IOS, android don't have option to stop app exactly! I develop game in android and find all document but never see how to stop app. just have option to close app but it still run in background ! system will auto free it when needed! have you ever see any button like "close" in all app from google?
So, please try if you want use task manager, just manual kill app or game you don't want use, and don't kill any system app ! Better thing is don't use task manager like me ! maybe you will not see any eror again and report here if it work for you ! Thanks all !
I never use any auto kill apps and i only ever experience key freezes, never SOD's.
So your quite right i think

I think you're right
I don`t agree. If you wish to kill any application you can allways go to settings manage applications and to force close when you select it from the menu

Yes, you can force close, but only ONE app! if you choo option kill all or auto kill ... it will kill all app, include system app ..., then it can have eror!
Hey, hope your're fine, people.
Say me please: is it possible to make an exception for one of the user's apps from MIUI App Killer?
I'll explain:
For example, imagine that i installed an application (in my case it's "wave launcher") that should work on the background, but App Killer is closing all non-system processes, when i'm pressing the button "App Killer". So can i make an exception for the MIUI App Killer by myself or find its settings anywhere? Does it have any settings or something as well?
I'm on MIUI. Not regular Android.
Thank you!

Yeah ^^
I wana do the same...
Might play around with moving apps to system with root explorer [after nandroid BU o/c]
Maybe that'll keep my monitoring/scaling apps from being restarted & having to re-do settings ain:
Yea yea I did search for task killers and process managenet. Didnt find what I wanted. I want to prevent apps to launch not to kill them instantly when they launch. Anyone know any app that makes this happen ?
you could freeze the apps with titanium backup, dont know if you need the pro version to do that.
otherwise you could search around for autostart apps, i used one for some time ago to prevent apps from starting at startup, but i dont renember what the app was called!
just search around the market for autostart
Hope this helps you!
thanks i'll check that out
check out Gemini App manager. it does what u need and free.
Hi,
I have a doubt in "Force stop"ing applications.
I have some applications that run in background after closing it. For example Facebook, YouTube, etc.,
If I use any task manager to kill the app, it automatically opens again in seconds.
But I came to know from one of xda member, if we "Force stop" the application using settings -> app manager, it will not be started until we launch the application again. My expected option.
Now my question:
Is there any app available in market that force closes (not kill) selected apps?
Note: Please don't bring up the story that "android by itself have task killer and manage itself". I want to know a functionality similar to force stop available in app manager.
Thanks in advance,
Senthur
