Okay so i did something i shouldn't of.
After buying a T-mobile dell streak 7 online, i found out it had been rooted with clockwork recovery mod by dj steve v4.0.1.4. When i tried working with it i found out i couldn't use the phone functions of the tablet so i decided to do a factory reset in the settings. To my dismay the problem only got worse and now when the tablet boots up normally it asks me for a password that wasn't on there before. I read on a thread somewhere that this is because the device is trying to decrypt something but that it's because there's no OS on it. I can still boot up in recovery mode and perform all the options in there.
So i bought a usb cable for it hoping that i would be able to flash it back to factory settings, but now i am unable to get it to work with usb.
I have a win 7 64 bit and i have tried downloading divers from all kinds of places which seem to be the right ones but windows will not allow me to install them and insists that the best ones are installed.
I've downloaded android sdk tools and installed all the components that are pertinent to this version and make (at least i think)
I've tried downloading PDAnet, the pc sync tool that is available on the dell site and that didn't work either. Under fastboot mode on the tablet the driver is installed correctly but still appears as a unknow device and i don't see the fastboot window show up when i plug it in so...
I've literally read hundreds of threads to see if maybe i could do it by placing update.zip files on the sd card and then installing them under CWM, some have worked, some haven't but when i reboot it's still the same.
Please help!!!

You need to grab a NVFLash pack, put device in APX mode, install the APX drivers, and install a complete full restore.

Thank you so much for taking your time to help.
Ok so i downloaded NVFlash, that i have found to be able to put my device in APX mode i need to hold down the power button and the volume - button at the same time when booting up but that sends me to fastboot. Is this the same as APX ? Sorry i don't know much about this.
Also when you say install the APX drivers, i have not been able to find these, could you send me a link ?
I don't mean to be rude or mean, but this is a question that has been answered a hundred times here, please look around and read a bit, we are getting tired of holding baby hands.
Thanks for your imput

Hey! Thank you for answering. Please don't be too quick to pass judgement, I have read hundreds of threads and i have downloaded all kinds of different drivers, roms, and recovery images. I've followed all the instructions of the related posts but the Tablet's OS wont boot up. I cannot install any .pkg updates because any option i select when i boot it up holding down power and volume + buttons sends me to CWM recovery mod and all the update.zip roms that i have installed this way have made no difference.
I have come to the conclusion that i need to flash a recovery image from the computer but i cannot because all the drivers i have found for it have not worked. My device does not appear as a drive therefore i can't see it in nvflash or even windows for that matter. yesterday i called dell support to see if they had any drivers available that weren't already posted on their site but with no luck.
The reason i'm writing this is because i was hoping someone had a similar problem and could help me, i know you deal with people that don't even take the trouble to look into the other threads every day, but believe me i have.
If you can help i would greatly appreciate it, or point me to what i'm doing wrong Tks.
In NVflash or APX mode the S7 doesn't appear as a drive. With your S7 on plugged into your PC, you don't see it as a drive? This should work right out of the box. Although some have reported the manual mentioned Driver. Zip folder is missing.
If hold the Volume + and - button in a plug into your PC, do your hear a beep? If so, you would then go into the device manager, select the APX device and install the drivars from the NVflash download package.

Thank you so much, i was finally able to install the drivers in APX mode. Flashing it from here shouldn't be too much of a hassle. Very grateful for your help. Cheers

Phone is ATT captivate SGH-I897 1008
Had my phone for 4 months or so, most of the time with cognition 2.x on it. Tried to update to 3.02 yesterday, and it had an error in the middle, left me at a recovery screen of sorts, and I chose to reboot from the possible selections. It got stuck on the ATT worldcom splash screen.
I tried several things. First, I tried to boot into recovery mode (vol up+power, then release) stays on splash screen. However, in this mode, if I connect my phone via USB, an adb devices command shows as connected. From there I tried both an adb reboot recovery, and adb reboot download command. The adb reboot recovery reboots into the worldcom splash screen just like the key combo does. I can't recall what the download option did, though I think it worked.
Secondly, I realized I could reliably get the phone into download mode, so I decided I would try the download mode, and restore to stock. I found an ODIN on the seminal ODIN thread, downloaded it, and started it up. Put the phone into download mode (hold vol + and vol -, plug in the usb) and that worked fine, however, ODIN doesn't see my phone. I left the phone in this mode for a couple hours just to make sure, and tried disconnecting, and reconnecting, and initialized the procedure from the beginning several times -- no go.
So, I am stuck, and coming to the experts. Hopefully, someone has some good suggestions. I was unable to find someone in a similar predicament, so maybe I am SOL.
Thanks in advance for any help.
UPDATE:
I rebooted my laptop (windows XP) and when I plugged in my phone, it saw "new" hardware and the name of the hardware it sees is "gadget serial." This might explain, if it is not initializing the right drivers why ODIN can't see the phone. The only problem is I don't have any clue how to redirect it to see the right hardware now.
Success Update
After reading the seminal ODIN thread a bit more careful, I came across someone who had similar issues with the gadget serial device. Apparently the drivers I got (I think from the Samsung site) are not good enough to cover that aspect of use. I installed with the drivers from links on the ODIN post and my phone was recognized! As I type, I am installing back to stock.
Thanks everyone for their efforts, and I hope my experience could be useful.
Desk top or laptop, have you tried all the ports
I would test to see if adb recognizes your device first during normal operations. I'd that doesn't work, your usb port may not have enough power or you have a bad usb cable. I think adb can also restart right into download mode but check around first.

I tried two differing cables, both of good quality. One was the cable that came with the phone, the other was a mini-usb cable with a micro adapter. Neither worked. I can't do normal operations right now (that I know of), seeing how the phone is in a bad state.

Use rear usb ports on desktop. Make sure you are using original oem cord
Have you used odin before

Sorry, didn't read your first post close enough. I'm not sure what you can do, someone suggested the battery pull method in another thread, but that was just to get their phone in Download mode. It had nothing to do with ODIN after it was in download mode. Hopefully someone will have a suggestion for you. Good luck.
I'm having a similar issue except that odin sees the phone when booted into the rom, which I find odd.
Would you be so kind as to link the drivers?

im trying to do that but when im on heimdall and i connect my tablet it wont even recognize it so i can install the drivers and proceed to the next step here is what i been trying. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=967175 so every time i connect my tablet to the pc its saying that the device was not recognized...im to the point of giving up twice i have done everything by the book and always something goes wrong
I see. So does it give an error when you try to install the drivers with zadig.exe, or have you completed that step and the device is still not recognized by heimdall? It's probably unrelated, but heimdall only recognizes my tab on one of the two usb ports on my crappy old laptop. (They both work for mass storage) it's a long shot, but maybe try another port?
Sent from right behind you...
ok this is what i get once i plugged it on my pc it did not reconize it then i did zadig and this is what i get:

I looked through other similiar threads but they are for other phones so i wanted to start this thread to get unstuck with my samsung i897 with clockwork mod installed. I guess im good at learning things the hard way so here i am stuck at the mercy of you guys. this is what i figure i can do to get the update.zip i can put my sd card in a sd card reader then hook it up to my pc then manually copy update.zip to it to get access through the clockwork mod bios then point it to the freshly copied file but the prob is i dont have a usb sd card reader and i have ignorantly formatted everything on my phone so i can boot up only to the clockwork mod bios with nothing for it to work with so can any of you give me a laymens term step by step noobie style walkthru out of the kindness of your heart or pure boredom? thanks and i figue almost bricking my phone is a good way to learn this stuff So am i stuck having to get a sd card reader for my pc then download the update.zip or if there are alternatives to update.zip then id like to know but is this the only way to get me out of this situation of just having the clockwork bios and nothing else? if someone has a quickfix please let me know or point me to some solution please
Flash back to stock with ODIN that will fix your phone.... Why would u format?

Ok I tried the [STOCK ROM] Odin3 One-Click Downloader and Drivers CAPTIVATE ONLY
thread located at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989 and i did it step by step with the mentioned drivers installed and i cant get oden to reconize my phone im in download mode followed the directions to a t with nothin :/ do you have any other ideas?
Is your phone running CyanogenMod or MIUI?
its running the \update-cm-7.1.0-Captivate-signed.zip or it says this when it boots into the custom bios clockwork mod recovery v2.5.1.0 speedmod ulfk and the bios text is in green with the reboot system now options - apply sdcard:update.zip and -wipe data/factory reset and - wipe cach partition and install zip from sdcard and - backup and restore and - mounsts and storage and advanced clockworkmod feautures and - advanced speedmod ulk features and- ********go back******* etc and their subdirectories but thats all i can get because i guess thats all left on my phone . i can get the com recognition when i boot up to recovery mode but not when i boot into download mode which is what i need to be in obviously because i cant get odin to run all the way through in recovery mode it sticks and freezes and this is what i get <ID:0/005> Added!!
<ID:0/005> Odin v.3 engine (ID:5)..
<ID:0/005> File analysis..
Then you need Nexus S drivers. I recommend you also download android SDK while your at it. FYI any AOSP (CyanogenMod, MIUI, etc) use Nexus S drivers.
Ok im trying to reinstall my driver for windows 7 nexus driver u mentioned btw my device is listed as gadget serial under devices and printers ok ive chosen 16_Shrewsbury and trying to update the gadget serial to the shrewsbury driver i keep getting select device - the folder you specified doesnt contain a compatible software driver for your device. if the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with windows for 32-bit systems and just to let you know the driver file name i downloaded is samsung_driver the one i was using before was SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_x86 so it seems i have a tricky aggravating device driver problem that is what makes all this hard in the first place trying to find needle in the haystack drivers when they should be outlined correctly instead of this. but anyway im hanging int their because i have a brick with nothing else so far. thanks agian for your patience in joining in my aggravatiion.
I really can't say. I just use SDK for that. =/ I've never installed any nexus S drivers, but I assume you can grab legit drivers from nexus site.
This is what im going to try now, im going to unistall and try to seek out all the drivers and do away with them i wish there was a samsung driver eliminator program so i can go through the trial and error correct driver thing which i shouldnt be going through because i had the correct drivers before enough to root my phone in the first place this is just crazy but i consistently run across these driver issues when dealing with windows so i should just accept this i how it is and keep plugging at it till i finally have a phone again well if anyone has a miracle answer for me then feel free to relieve my anxiety and bless me with just 1 time a simple fix lol. I guess if this was simple in the first place everyone would be doing it.
When i ran MIUI, the only time i had a driver problem was with adb. Rest if the t time, Samsung drivers worked fine. You could always use heimdall, on Ubuntu (google wubi installer)
im still stuck trying to get odin3 to reconize my device in download mode so i can one click fix my phone back to factory default , the trouble im facing is that i cant seem to get the correct driver ive tried so many different ones and im fighting windows 7 because it keeps putting i9000 or nexus drivers in automaticallly when i unplug the usb and reinsert in to initiate download mode. like i said in an earlier post i wish i had a proggie that could seek out the device drivers and annihilate them so i could start from scractch as yet im trying to find them myself manually and do away with them with not much luck.
Soft Brick Fix - Samsung Captivate
Another "Jump the gunner". That's me in a nutshell.
Here are the steps you will need to take in order to un-brick your phone.
(I have done this so many times, but I have never written a tutorial)
First off, it sounds like you have the wrong drivers installed for your phone. Most computers have more than one use port, and it will attempt to install the driver for the phone for every different port you plug it into. But lets fix the one that you have that's messed up already.
-With your phone in download mode, plug it into the USB port.
-Open control panel, system, then click on device manager in the left column of the window.
-At the bottom of the list you will see "Universal Serial Bus Controllers"
-Expand this list.
-Find the device that is supposed to be resembling your phone. If you don't know the name, you may be able to check by the windows clock for the green circle with the check mark in it, clicking this will tell you what "Ejectable" USB devices are connected.
-Right click the matching device name in the Device manager screen and then click uninstall.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Download the correct drivers:
Samsung USB Drivers
(go here, click software, USB driver should be first listing)
-Install the driver from where you downloaded it to.
-Plug in your phone while in download mode.
-Verify that the correct driver has been installed.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Open your phone and remove the battery.
-Replace the battery and battery cover.
-Open any Odin one click from this thread (Recommend one with Gingerbread bootloaders)...
Odin One Clicks
-Boot phone into download mode
-Plug phone into USB (After Odin is open)
-When you see the yellow COM port lit up, flash.
That should do it!
followed your advice and im still stuck with every device driver i try it either says will not reconzie my device or that device cannot start etc. i refuse to give up so if you guys are on this journey with me thats kewl. ok instead of manually trying to install the driver i goto setup now and when i run it i get this message
Install driver - SAMSUNG Android USB Modem Software was not installed successfully (16) There is a driver installed for the device, please uninstall first.
So now im in device manager trying to find the correct driver to uninstall since its not listed under usb devices it only comes up as gadget serial under other devices. Im trying to get rid of the drivers but i seem to be stuck in a loop . i found this link http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/window-on-windows/get-rid-of-old-device-drivers-hidden-in-vista/867 so im trying the advice here and seeing if i can remove the device and add the right one man i should just reformat my hd and put in linux or unix or any os besides windows then id probably be ok.
You don't have to reformat to do Linux. It will run via a live usb drive or a side-by-side installation.
ok i used the advice from http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/window-on-windows/get-rid-of-old-device-drivers-hidden-in-vista/867 and showed hidden devices and removed all samsung drivers or anything remotely resembling samsung usb drivers including the gadget serial device and then reinstalled the supposedly correct drivers for my i897 atnt captivate or craptivate and it installed but gives me this error gadget serial control failed so now i suppose i have to find a driver that doesnt exist for a device that isnt correctly being identified by win 7 as a samsung galaxy s sgh-i897 antnt captivate. or does anyone know of a gadget serial control driver that will work so that odin3 will reconize my device so i can get some semblance of a cellphone back? no im trying the advice from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1355666 with the title [SOLVED] Gadget Serial Issue - No Flash my problem is i have the same prob but require a flash.
Have you given heimdall a try? It uses different drivers than Odin.
I didnt have to use heimdal odin3 finally reconized my phone after following my previous post option and installing previous set of drivers for my phone not the newest seems u can save a brick after all but pain in the rear but now ive learned so im
ready to hack my phone to death lol btw if anyone else has this prob feel free to ask me fer help lol and thank you very much for all the help in this wonderful forum top notch support guys with this kind of diligence there is nothing u guys cant do )
Good Luck
Looking to root/new rom girlfriend's old phone, can't get it into recovery/boot menu.
I'm aware that the method is meant to be volume up, home button, power. I've watched videos of people doing it and read guides, pretty certain I'm doing it right.
I've done it keeping them held down the whole time (until Samsung galaxy screen cycles) and also releasing the buttons as soon as something comes up on the screen (as the youtube videos I've watched seem to do).
Have rooted my own phone and flashed several roms, so I'm moderately aware on this whole situation.
Running stock rom, I think Optus. Firmware 2.1-update1. So I think I need to update before rooting.
Download mode doesn't work either (volume down).
I also can't get it to appear on computer. Samsung Kies detects that the phone is plugged in but just keeps trying to initialise. I have downloaded Samsung Galaxy S x64 drivers from softpedia, tried to install driver that you can download as part of Android SDK. And hence, I have tried Android SDK but it isn't seen when I run 'adb devices'.
I set the USB mode on the phone accordingly. There actually was one point when the volumes were picked up on the computer, with USB mode as mass storage and debugging off, but it never happened again.
I've used two different usb cables, micro usb from Nook, new HTC cable.
Hope I've put through all the right information, really appreciate any help, this is getting frustrating.

You need to use an original Samsung USB cable or Huawei USB cable as most others will not work , for better reference visit your wiki http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Samsung_Galaxy_S_Series as how to enter download mode

thanks for the reply. The USB mounting is now working on another computer, the drivers must be confused on my desktop.
Surely micro USB cables are mostly electronically identical?
Currently trying to install 'Kies' on netbook... maybe that will work.
Reckon the boot to recovery command from Android SDK is my best bet?
Thanks for the wiki link, I hadn't come across that

Pin outs on micro USB cable varies and most differ from samsungs, have tested them ...laptop do function better when it comes to flashing Samsung phones , you can download Andro platina from My android collections link below for recovery or download mode
Ok, I will have a Samsung cord later. If Android SDK stuff doesn't work I'll take a look at the tools you linked. Nice collection.
hmmm got the cable, and android SDK picks it up now, "adb devices" returned an item for the phone, and adb reboot recovery and download worked.
Went on with the directions here: [can't post url, but the cyanogen mod Galaxy S full update guide], got to the end of "Installing the ClockworkMod Recovery". On running point 6, phone just loops the Galaxy boot screen.
Guess I'm gonna be looking at more of these tools, and hoping that some can operate while it's booting....

i had the same problem as you! but i had 3bottons combo working, so i entered recovery and it was a new cwm(5.x.x.x) wiped data/factory reset and cache, flashed cm7 againg and then it worked. here on the forum there was a guide to get the 3 bottons combo work but i cannot find it anymore. I hope jig will help you, also if you want CM7 ask to someone more experienced then me to buil odin file for it! so you can flash it with jig!
ok I have the usb jig working. I'm pretty sure that I do have CWM installed, I just can't get into recovery mode, only download mode.
I'm a bit unsure where to go from here. I think it's Odin, but I don't know what version to use. I want to use the most up to date method possible, that's why I'm trying to use the established Cyanogen Mod guide, but now that I'm using a workaround it doesn't apply to me I guess.
I'm going to be trying to get the right version of Odin and find a guide for it (probably from your tools xsenman, thanks) but if anyone would like to tell me precisely what I should do I would appreciate the peace of mind
.... far out these recaptchas are difficult. Can't wait till I'm proper member :S
Can I use Heimdall to boot my phone into recovery mode?
EDIT:
Pretty sure I can't do that now. I've had a look through the heimdall commands now (ie read the help text from the command line). So far I'm looking for something that I can use with the flash command, to either get me back running factory, or allowing me to get into recovery mode.

yeah but... the links inside. I'm not game to just try to download files that I think are the same
now something seems to have broken the tenuous driver situation I had going on. I got the files for EzOdin in your guides, but it doesn't pick up the phone. Neither does heimdall, even though it used to
alright, I'm done!
In the end, here were my problems:
Flashing Clockwork Mod 'bricked' the phone putting it into a boot loop. This was because I was meant to be on 2.3, but I was on 2.1 (I think).
I couldn't easily escape boot loop, because this version of the Galaxy S didn't have the 3 button method to enter recovery or download mode. This is somewhat common, especially in Australia from what I've seen. I had to enter into download mode by using the usb jig where you connect a 301k ohm resistor between pins 4 and 5 of the usb port.
It took me a loooong time to progress from here, but I think the main cause of this was usb drivers. I think for most people it will be plug and play though. The thing that got me there in the end was the right combination of uninstalling, and using the driver tool with the Heimdall suite.
I ended up having to install another rom via another method, to give me access to recovery mode, so that I could then install CM 9.1. I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991792, and had to get the files from ,https://www.dropbox.com/s/d382m2kyorzum16/ezbase recovery kit gb.zip (hopefully that's still up for future readers)
Then from download mode again, I had to redo the kernel flash using Heimdall, as described http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S:_Full_Update_Guide.
I had problems here where I thought I was on clockwork mod but wasn't, and hence the packages were read as invalid (I guess it was expecting a Samsung/Optus one). But with that kernel flash, now that I was [*actually*] on Clockwork Mod, the Cyanogen Mod zip was recognised properly and it installed
Hope this helps future readers, and thanks for the help.
Hello!
I am a happy owner of a OP3T 128GB version, but I've currently ran into an interesting issue . I am familiar with rooting android, fastboot, adb and stuff and I have limited experience (a begginer, but a quick learner ) with some other android phones. I hope I'm not creating a duplicit question - I am really sorry if I am, but I haven't found a solution to my problem even after hours spend behind the desk.
Long story short - accidentaly did an Advanced wiped in TWRP (3.1.1-0) and wiped my system (OS) and everything in the phone. I don't really care about the data, but checking the Sysem box in Advanced wipe menu has brought me into serious trouble it seems. Of course, I got a bootloop - my bad, right , nothing I can't fix I thought... But when I approached to try to flash a zip or .img of a system file/stock ROM respectively, I found literally no way to do so. My phone isn't recognized by my PC(s) (Windows and Mac) and I tried everything I could. The device isn't even a Qualcomm or sth. in the device manager - simply nothing, I can only get the device to charge sometimes when connected to the PC (seen in TWRP). I cannot connect an USB key to it via OTG either in TWRP to flash from there - TWRP just does not seem to know I even plugged a USB into the phone. I tried OP drivers, adb naked drivers, the phone and the PC just don't seem to be communicating at all.
The device can boot into fastboot, recovery (TWRP) and if proceeded TWRP prompts with "No OS installed" and I get a bootloop as expected. Is there any way I could try to flash the device with proper firmware? I do have the firmware and everything, I just can't seem to find a way how to flash it . I am a young student who just likes to play with tech stuff and devices and messed up and cannot help myself and I am really hopeless at this point . Any advice is greatly appriciated.
Thank you so much.

If you can flash/boot into TWRP, then probably nothing is lost. While in TWRP, if you connect your phone with PC, what happens? Do you hear the usual USB connection sound? If yes, what appears in the device manager?
Even if it doesn't appear in device manager, don't worry.
Boot into TWRP, go to storage, DISABLE MTP and enable it again. I know it sounds dumb, but just try it. It will be recognized as long as you have the proper drivers installed.
After that copy the zip of an OxygenOS based ROM like FreedomOS and flash it. Don't wipe anything. It will boot fine. I've done that a few times, never had a problem.
Thanks for the advice guys - no, no sound, nothing - as I said, I only get the charging (+) icon in twpr next to the battery percentage.
I did disable and enable MTP before - although not plugged in a pc during the process - will try if I have the chance.
One more thing that might ring a bell for someone - I tried the key combo for hard reset today(power + vol down) for a couple second and moments later I got a fuzzy (random colored pixels) screen and a red led. Weird, if you ask me.
P.S.: Today I tried to chat with OP a bit - 230 Eur for a new MB (64GB) and 255 Eur for my 128GB version - I just wanted to know, I'm still not admitting failure though. But as a student, these numbers from the support literally hurt me when reading...

1) try to update the twrp to the official 3.1.1.0. Then flash the latest modem firmware for your device and try to flash a custom rom like lineage os (a 7.x rom)
If you connect the phone to PC in TWRP and your phone is not recognized, chances are good that either your phone's USB or the cable (or the USB port on the computer) is not working. You can try to download the adb driver installer from here, just to check if your phone is listed by the installer: http://adbdriver.com/downloads/
Update - tried the MTP Enable/disable option in TWRP (in the Mount menu) while plugged into the PC, with no luck
IvanPrince - have you actually read the description of my problem? I have the 3.1.1-0 and even if not, how should I actually flash another version of twrp? The problem here is I cannot seem to find a WAY how to flash ANYTHING on the device.
I'll see about the adb drivers and update.
Thanks all,
Does the phone show up as anything on the PC when you boot to fastboot? I re-read but didn't see anything about it.
Nope - nothing. By now, I believe it is a hardware problem as the phone indeed got wet before my mistake with the advanced wipe. It appears to work just fine though, apart from the connectivity issue, so I believe the MB should be ok as everything else, including the screen is.
I just have one, perhaps a little courageous thing I'd like to ask from someone kind enough. Anyone with a Oneplus 3 or 3T who's not afraid to open the phone for a couplne minutes and has a multimeter alongside with a USB cable should be able to help me.
Could you, my awesome stranger, check where the 4 USB pins (on the side where you plug them into the PC) lead (make contact/'BEEP' on the multimeter) with the actual phone motherboard? It would REALLY help me in troubleshooting and perhaps saving 250 Eur. So far, I have this: (same color means contact) at that point. See picture.
BLACK - GND (all the heatsinks are connected to GROUND as well)
GREEN - DATA +
YELLOW - DATA -
RED - VCC
If anyone decides to open up their phone and help out a fellow xda guy, it will be greatly appriciated.
Hey Bro I was curious to know if you tried this method of recovering from a hard brick... When I first got my 3t something similar happened to me. I can't remember all the details of my hard brick but I thought I was f***ed. Please try this if you have not already.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/unbrick-unbrick-tutorial-oneplus-3t-t3515306
Might be a dumb question, but you did remember to mount the USB when you connected the otg right?
If the bootloader is unlocked, you can save it.
I would flash the stock recovery and the latest factory image (4.1.7)
Download them both from here:
http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-3t/oneplus_3t_oxygenos_4.1.7/
After flashing the stock recovery using fastboot, boot to stock recovery and sideload through ADB the stock factory image.
Reboot and after checking that everything is working fine, feel free to relock the bootloader if you wish to stay 100% stock.
If the computer doesn't recognize it at all then it's a driver problem, not the phone... at least that's what I think.
