[Q] Unlock Bootloader Safe?

Can i safely unlock my bootloader without getting sim lock(now its is without simlock) or other problems? I got date code 11W02 ( i think 29+ its critical).
i tested my phone with s1tool the code is below. sorry if a thread like that exists, i didnt found one.

I have 11W02. Which guide is best to unlock ? Flashtool? I heard you cant get simlock if your phone had one in the past. Is tha right?

Huh? Why ahouldnt he unlock? 11w02 is safe. I'm 11w06 and I was fine, as were others with 11w06 (B.Jay and _Sparks)

I got my X8 back from service 3 days ago.poor phone was hard bricked while trying to unlock bootloader.I might have done something wrong though because it seemed to have unlocked at a point, maybe not...Anyway i think it was 11W43.The one i have now is 11w03 but whatever it was i wouldn't try it again.2.3.7 is good already no need for ICS

He can try if he wants, BUT ( quote taken from b.jay's post of bootloader problem)
If the date code on the sticker reads 11W29, or any later date (11W30, 11W31, 11W32, 11W33, ...), DO NOT attempt to unlock the boot loader.

no, i didnt read properly earlier, i thought you said 11w29 but you actually said 11w02
Anyway, no, the risk is low, there will be 99.9 /100 % you can do it, the only thing that can screw it up now, is if something interrupts the process like anti-virus etc

I left my Antivirus on and it was fine

uhhh, ummm, if you were unlocked to any network (if that is what you mean) then you will return to being locked to original network
@Irishstuff09 some anti-virus can interupt (lol, i didnt turn mine off but worked for me too )
but sometimes, the programm can fool the antivirus (which is good in this case, but bad cuz it shows how s*it the anti-virus is and how it can bypass etc)

Yea, When I had Kaspersky it always detected a virus in the Android SDK

lol, when i had windows, i used to have kaspersky, but i run linux mint now, and i run Avast!
very simple layout, nothin fancy.

This is what i mean. I am afraid of getting simlock. I think my phone had one because i got it with 2.1 not 1.6,which the x8 had on release. And the box was seald with the sticker of a german provider

Then look at the sticker on your battery. The sticker on your mother is like 2 more or less than the sticker on your bord. So in the battery it can say 11w20 and your board can say 11w22 or 11w18 .
My sicker on battery is 10w23 and board 10w21

check your phone last setting
dont forget is that your word is "r" or "R"
so you know that your device is unlock or not...

How to Unlock Bootloader in Xperia x8 11w48 ?

Is there any way to unlock the Bootloader without bricking it ?
I want to install GingerDX on it and change the kernel and so.
I have now GingerXperia v10, android version 2.3.7, and Kernel Version 2.6.29 [email protected] #1
What I need is to make my android smoother because it's so slow with the GingerXperia, so I thought it would be better if I get GingerDX or anything else but keep the 2.3.7 version.
Any Ideas ?

Even if you can't unlock you're phone.. gingerdx for stock is available..
To unlock above 11W29 you'll have to pay.. and it's quite risky for the ones above 11W35..

But if I keep it with stock kernel will it be faster and smoother than the GingerXperia V10?

I think it is safe to unlock your bootloader. The ones which get hardbricked are the models which have 11w29 + manufacturing date

and does each and every rom of X8 out in the market is supported by w8 or not....i mean there are hardly any rom for w8 only....what if i install those roms made for x8 in w8....as my w8 has model number E15i in its back under the battery

Yes EVERY rom for x8 works with w8 as well

Of course and you had hardbrick your date is 11w43, which is 11w29+.
maruna2047's date is 10w37.

do it only if you can send it to repair if it hardbricks bro..
you should have tried sending the arc to repair shop instead of throwing it away

If u do it via s1 tool sure hardbrick if u want unlock via paid then in fb search for XPERIA UNLOCK SERVICE

use testpoint2 if im not mistaken to unlock bootloader from 11w28+
if you take the risk and it fails just relock the bootloader again and update it using PCC or SEUS to revive it again

x8 from e15a to e15i

Hi guys I own a x8 e15a, I went to a shop last monday to unlock it to any carrrier and actually they did it.
The only weird thing is that my phone is listed as e15i...Does that mean my phone has unlocked bootloader? Can I restore it? It is safe?
Its kinda strange......hope you can help me out

hi there, yes I think you have unlocked bootloader, first of all, open the back part of the phone, get the battery out and find your manufacturing date e.g. 11W29, 10W44, etc...
if you have 11W28 and below, you can safely unlock your bootloader using this link

i'd advise against unlocking your bootloader as it's very risky. ise s1tool to check the status of your bl. network/sim unlock is different from bl unlock.

i might be wrong but since the difference between the two is that the e15a has UMTS/HSPA 850/1900/2100 while the
e15i has UMTS/HSPA 900/2100, maybe it's a question of basebands. i'm not sure. hopefully someone who knows will be able to shed some light on this.

no no no my friend, it is very risky because it is 12W++ and setool2 isn't tested to work on 11W29+ devices with full compatibility so stick to stock ROMs my friend

Yeah but I dont see the real reason....will they make a carrier unlock just by changing that? I dont think so...Well anyway its carrier unlocked but bootloader locked

which doesn't really change anything if you check the difference between the two. i can make edits to make my x8 an "sgs3" but it doesn't really matter, does it?
