Force Reboot on Calls - HTC Incredible S

Hi everyone.)
I have a problem with my HIS, am getting reboots when I call smone.(
actually it reboots whet the person is answering my call...or when I answer a call (so I guess it's about whet the connection gets established)
I figured it not on all ROMs and not on all Radios...on some combinations of ROM&Radio it works w/o reboot.
now I'm on Nik's Project X v2 with 20.72.30.0833U_3831.17.00.24_M Radio....I've tried different Radios including :
20.74.30.0833U_3831.18.00.11_M;
20.4805.30.0822U_3822.01.08.14_M;
20.4805.30.0822U_3822.11.08.29_M;
20.4802.30.0822U_3822.10.08.28_M;
I noticed that it happened when the signal strength is low (and the phone is changing from WCDMA to GSM or vice versa):
can anyone help me with this problem IT'S ANNOYING ..!!!!!!!(((
and I'm just afraid that my HIS could get bad in terms of H/W 'coz of these reboots...
p.s. sorry 4 my English if smthing is not clear 2 understand.)

Make a backup, than wipe everything except SD Card, and than reflash. What for a recovery you using, your HBoot and on which roms do you get reboots?
If reflash brings nothing, try another call app, could work.

already done this things....i've changes a lot of ROMs...including GB and ICS (from stock GB with Sense 2.x/3.0/3.5/3.6 to ICS with Sense 3.6/4.0 and AOKP)
I guess, can it be 'coz of a wrong Radio 4 a specific ROM.?
I saw people writing about the specific Radio 4 their builds...!?
now am on BlackRose 2.02.0002, and 4ext Recovery Touch v1.0.0.5 RC5
can it be because of the region I live in.?
is ICS with Sense 4 compatible with this : 20.4802.30.0822U_3822.10.08.28_M; or this 20.4805.30.0822U_3822.11.08.29_M Radios ?
with one of those I got no reboots (but it was on GB) that's why I'm asking.)

Android hanging

Hi, i have tried all android builds, those using ext2 partition, and those which don't need it, on different roms, different radios, with and without swap partition, but android always hangs after a while.
Both partitions are set to primary. I used task29 before each flash. SD Card was always formatted. Don't know what else can i do to make it work.
I noticed that it has something to do with gsm, because when i try to turn it off, then nothing happens, and after a while android freezes.
anyone found a solution to this problem ?
if you don't have solution for my problem , then please tell me what you are doing to make it work, step by step, maybe i'm doing something wrong ... i would be really happy to have android on my phone
i have the same problem
i dont even know it related to gsm, if did not post about this.
i already ask about this on neopeek forum, but still did not solve the problem.
maybe you could visit neopeek forum, explain the problem (from your prespective), then we can help the dev to solve this problem
i turned off gsm and android was working fine, but when i turned it back on , then phone hanged after a while ... so , it is related with gsm

I think you may have something here.
I get some hangs, and the screen fails to wake some times with SIM card in.
If i remove SIM everything seems fine i can not make it to hang.
RADIO: 1.16
I've experienced this too. In fact I struggled to even install with most kernels as it would hang at the initial setup wizard. Once the sim card was removed it installed fine, and runs much better. My radio is version 1.17.25.09.
the people in neopeek forum suggest me to change radio
right now i'm using version 1.16.25
bobblesop use 1.17.25
XangoAbada, which version you're using right now?
right now i'm using 1.17.25 radio, but i tried all radios available on xda forum, and all kernels from sp3dev and sandeans, result always is the same, adroid hangs
I have the same problem.
For me works:
- cyanogen 6.1 thread from neopeek
- kernel from xdandroid.2 from this thread
- radio 1.14.25.55
- Energy ROM (updated yesterday)
Try this too and say if your problem gone.
I don't know what's the reason of hanging android. Kernels: sp3dev, seandean doesn't work for me
PS. SIM with pin
gsobczyk , your combination really works ;P how is battery on that kernel ? and what should we do now, when we know what works and what not ? don't know if any developer will have time to resolve our problem :/
Battery - not so good. I use android from time to time and test some kernels (first installed android - 4 days ago ). I'm not android's kernel developer so I have only hope that someone find the reason of this behavior.
I'm wondering if presence of PIN code has difference. Unfortunately I can't disable it.
i have disabled asking for pin, so i don't have problem with this ... and i think it's not related with the hanging problem ... i think it's something with the gsm driver ... maybe on neopeek forum they will find the answer
there is a solution for our hanging problem
chester0 wrote:
How i solved my hangs: (happened to me with all versions i tried)
Go to settings -> wireless & network settings -> mobile networks -> uncheck "Data enabled", reboot.
if it hangs before you can get there, remove the sim card and try again.
radio 1.10xxxx
rom winmo 6.1

I'm having the same issue too for com.android.phone. EXACTLY the same as u. I lose signal for a few secs then it's ok again.
Look in the "Stock 2.3.4" thread, there is a cmw.zip with a fixed Phone.apk, just flash it via CWM...

I also get this on JVH (and JVB before that) - always phone dialler searching for contacts by entering digits. Also using Go SMS or stock SMS client it sometimes happens.
CF Root.
I have even flashed 2.2.1 and upgraded to 2.3.3. though Kies. Still the same. It's driving me nuts.
Same fc issue. I had to revert back to 2.3.3 again. Very annoying. Another thing everybody i am talking told me to speak more loudly because they can not hear me and that my voice is not clear.

I had the exact same problem with JVH (but not with any other firmware, including JVP). I tried to re-flash JVH (with re-partition), but it persisted.
I then went for an even older FW (an Eclair ROM), then re-flashed JHV (with bootloaders) and it worked just fine.
I still don't know what caused the problem, but that's how I solved it... Hope this helps!

Why you guys even did not read the first page instead of posting rubbish?
Shame on you!
I was on a call and it FC'd and network signal was lost as well.
I dont know if FC was due to lost signal or lost signal because it FC'd, either way its a major bug in JVP.
Sorry man but are you stupid?
I had that too but only 1 time, after i hang up phone suddenly lost network and after cuple of seconds it was back. No FC no errors. Maybe it is becouse of dirty sim card, i had samsung i5700 before and had to clean sim card, after cleaning it never happend again.

Which kernels have you tried? And have you performed a full wipe/re-install of the rom for each different kernel you have tried?

When having unfixable problems sometimes the only thing that will work is returning to stock. Relock and start all over from the very beginning.

I just installed MIUI 2.9.29 on my Bell Raider (which has a current base of the Rogers ICS RUU). I am S-OFF so I'm sure the kernel flashed fine as part of the rom install, but I went into Settings/About Phone to confirm. It says it is running the faux kernel it comes with (3.0.33-MSM8660-Faux123-v007+)
- Call volume is just fine for me and when it is in Speaker mode it goes pretty loud! However - It doesn't seem to do LTE (dealbreaker for me). I checked the APN. It had everything correct. I only get HSDPA. I even went into the special phone menu and the choices were only GSM or WCDMA (no LTE items listed).
- GPS also seemed to work fine for me. I installed Google Maps from the market, launched it, the GPS icon started flashing in the notification bar, and it detected my exact location pretty quickly.
- The gallery and music player showed duplicates of each photo/song for me. Strange!
I still wonder if it's a kernel issue you're having. When you do a fresh flash of MIUI, and boot into it, go into Settings/About Phone, scroll down, and check what it says for Kernel Version. Also, if you go to flash a different kernel manually via fastboot (immediately after a fresh install of the rom), go into that same menu and see if the kernel you flahed is listed.
If the kernels don't seem to be flashing, I wonder if your phone has to experience an 'insecure' kernel flash first (this can be done by flashing Kozmik's 'stockish' kernel via fastboot). I'm not sure if this even applies to S-ON phones though...
I do agree with drwario though - starting fresh from scratch (re-locking bootloader and running your specific stock ICS RUU) is a good idea.
you are s-on? sounds like what happens when you dont flash kernel correctly. try to flash the kernel using fastboot and see if it fixes it
Relock your bootloader then reflash it to stock with no interruptions then just go back unlock the bootloader and reflash your Rom make sure that if u are s-on to flash the kernel.via fastboot

Stuck on "Searching for Service" in CM 10 RC1

I just updated to CM 10 RC1 over-the-air from CyanogenMod on my Sprint HTC One a few days ago (when it was released). I went to update to the newest nightly today, but cancelled the download midway because my WiFi speeds were way too slow and the download was draining my battery too fast. Now, my phone is stuck on "Searching for Service", and I can't figure out how to get it to get signal again, because I AM in an area with very good signal. Any ideas? I need my phone working ASAP!
I've tried rebooting, as well. No luck. Also tried restoring an older Nandroid - still no luck.

I am also having the same problem. After flashing the latest release candidate. I lost my service and my mobile network state says disconnected now. I've tried everything so far no luck. I've gone back into my original stock nandroid and nothing. No matter what I flash to, phone has no service.
Change the network mode once after reboot otherwise you get no service at all...T_T

I have this same issue with the RC1 and have been changing the network mode to get service as well. After that the phone is fine. Does anyone know what causes this or if there's any way to resolve it or if that is purely on CM's end? When using the previous 10.1 nightlies (specifically 8/7/13) I don't have this problem, but when moving to this RC and the 10.2 nightlies (september 5) I still have the issue despite a full wipe (data, system...) before flashing each ROM. Don't have this issue with sense-based roms though.

thanks so much!!! :good: this worked for me. just a heads up though - I accidentally tried this with the cm10.2 nightlies first (despite the fact that this problem exists with those nightlies too) and it ended up causing an error (com.android something continuously popping up...) but this fixed the signal problem after restart with the 10.1.3 RC2 rom.
much appreciated!

[Q] Data connection >> reboot

I've recently flashed Sensational Rom v4 and it was all normal, but today(no restart) it started rebooting everytime i tried to connect to data. I've read that it is because my cell radios and bootloader are of different version than what this Rom and i had to flash a RUU. But in the flashing the RUU guide it says if i have S-ON it cannot flash a lower version of hboot and mine is 1.31.0000(written in the bootloader) while the rom is 1.28.0000.
Is there a way to fix this ? Will i face the same problem with all the sense based roms(even a stock one)? Should i flash to 4.1.2 roms?
i have:Sensational rom v4 ,Prometheus kernel 678mhz, Indian CID
PS: i'm new to this
Thanks
Yeah. Try a cm10 based ROM.
Sent from my HTC Desire C using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
so the cm10 based roms won't make the phone reboot? the thing is data connection was working 1-2 days ago ,and i didn't reboot and no mods installed the phone and today it suddenly stopped working.
i'll try a 4.1.2 rom, but with my bad luck my phone has a great chance of being stuck to not having no access to the net...
Thanks
Since sense based ROMs are I think based on stock. So your problem might be fixed by flashing a 4.1.2 ROM.

any suggestions?
EDIT:looks like it was because of the SIM ,weird as another phone with that SIM connects to 3g without any problems

Thanks
