I tried a new kernel, but forgot to put the flash file on the internal card first. Now my phone wont boot as there is no OS on my phone. I can't mount the USB as it keep saying something about can only mount usb in idle mode. And I cant seem to mount USB in recovery mode either. MTP keep failing in windows.
Only way is somehow to transfer that damn zip file by Odin or some other ways
Any help?

Have you tried to plug the cable to a different USB port? Sometimes it resolves the issue as it needs to install new drivers on that port.
No Mount USB

Yea, So working on something very close.
I formated my phone, and then wiped all the data on it after. My problem is I wiped the ROM that I was using at the time (otherwise I would boot back up and replace my deleted ROM using Android file transfer). I've also deleted the new ROM (and everything else) on the internal SD card that I was going to switch to. How can I force a ROM back onto my SD card? I can't boot back into the phone save for Recovery, and dowload screens so I can't enable the phone to "act as a usb device"
I have CWR 6.0.1, and can only boot into that program, and the Samsung Download screen.
I tried to go to mounts but only see system, cache and data. I can mount and unmount those (but they don't change anything. I also have a /sdcard option to mount, but i can't do anything with it, it doesn't switch back and forth between mount and unmount like the others do. I don't see a Mount USB option like you were talking about above.
I am using a VZW GNex (toro)
Macbook running snow lepord.
Go to samfirmware and dowload the 2.3.6 rom for the i9000 anf flash it with odin next install cwm recovery and its done

Is the operating system working normally? If yes, you can use option "connect as media storage" as it isn't enabled by default
tetakpatalked from 1+One
when i go into recovery mode and select mounts and storage menu then i select mount /sd-ex it show error mounting sd-ext ..................... i just want to move my files that are located in internal storage to my pc..... is there any way to do that
Hi azar
Did you tried to transfer using ADB . in your case if you have a custom recovery installed its possible
google this "transfer file using adb from recovery mode"
Hope this helps..
found the solution with recovery mode :
in windows hardware manager : delete adb I9100
in recovery mode press "unmount" : this will reload the phone driver and give full access to internal memory and sdcard on windows explorer
in your windows manager you should now see a warning device called GT-I9100
this worked after I reinstalled drivers (not from kies)
This problems happens because windows detects a new device and downloads this "adb driver" ONLY in recovery mode. So this is not the samsung driver.
Hi!
I messed something with my system. It's still working, it's not that bad, but i want to sort the mess out.
I upgraded to CM 10.1, and I didn't like it, so I used backup of stock JB from clockwork recoverymod (gboot).
Well, Android 4.2 messed something with my SD cards (external and the phone memory), from nearly 10 GB in the phone memory it became 1,5GB. I know that 4.2 implements new way of management of user memory, but I still can't comprehend this management (probably messed because of the restore I made).
Also, app for the NFC doesn't work (I tried to replace it and now NFC is not working completely).
I would really like to go back to the beginning and try again from the stock JB. Is the proper solution to flash the original 4.1.2 using KDZ?
Thanks in advance for solutions
Yes.

hahahah, this.
Well, i know that if u flash CM after having stock, then all things u hah on internal storage before, are in data/media. And if u roll out to stock from CM again, they're existing in folder named 0
Okay, and if I flash the stock JB using kdz, it will solve the problem of the SD cards, and it will recover all system apps?
yes
Well, it didn't work. Only restored system apps I deleted (nfc was just not working, the app wasn't deleted) and didn't help with the memory neither.
to wipe /data AND internal storage:
(user apps, system settings, user data, internal storage get deleted)
stock recovery: choose option 'factory reset'
cwm: mount --> format /data
twrp: wipe --> /data
factory reset option in cwm and twrp doesnt touch the internal storage
another option is to copy everything from /data/media/0 to /data/media if you want to keep ur files or entirely remove everything inside /data/media/ if you dont care.
with installing cm10.1, it moved everything from /data/media to /data/media/0
kdz flash doesnt wipe /data. be sure you perform a factory reset with stock recovery after kdz flash

This is the first time I've done this so I have NO idea how to fix it . I was just flashing a new rom
when I accidently checked off system in WIPE. Everything is gone obviously. Can someone please tell me what to do from here? I have no access to a computer till later today. Any help is appreciated thank you!
Update: internal storage is also deleted. The phone has nothing. No OS what so ever.
What do i do?
Thanks for any help
You deleted system or internal storage? If just system then reflash the rom. The zip should still be on your phone
your sdcard contents are still there, since sdcard "lives" in /data/media NOT in /system
proceed to flash whatever ROM+gapps you were going to install, wiping system is actually one of the steps many people do when doing a clean install
if internal storage is deleted you have 2 options
1. copy ROM and gaps on a USB flash drive , use a OTG cable to connect them, reboot into recovery , mount USB-OTG, you can install whatever zips you have on the flash drive
2. push the files to the sdcard from your computer using ADB push

TWRP Supports MTP connections. Plug the phone in via USB then go into "Mounts" and "enable MTP". Then just drag and drop the files into internal storage
the babadook! ?
Hello guys, i was trying to update my CM 13 today and it didn't work. It made the download but once in the recovery, nothing happened :S i'm trying to understand why and i hope some of you know of this.
By the way, my TWRP version is the 2.8.7.0 if it helps..
ugh...Can't really understand what happened
You installed via OTA/cm updater? meaning you downloaded with your phone
Just download the zip directly and flash it with twrp
You'll also need to re-flash gapps unless you're using TWRP 3.0.0
Make sure that you have not installed any additional mods which alters system partition (kernels, soundmods etc.) If not, easiest solution would be to dirtyflash new one or clean install.
Same problem here.
405. CM13. TWRP 3.0.0. Merged SD card with internal storage.
In Recovery I can see folder structure but no files. I know its because of SD-encryption but I hoped I could at least see files in internal storage to update. Hope there's a solution soon. Does anyone have a workaround?

Filesystem of sdcard mount point
What is your /sdcard mount point filesystem? Mine is 'auto' (Maybe that might be causing the problem?) , and you can check by going into TWRP -> Wipe -> sdcard -> Repair or Change File System
Thank you for your answer. I checked that quickly, but couldn't find the option 'repair or change filesystem' without actually wiping the storage... I'll check again later if there's more time.
I found and changed the option from exFAT to ext4. All folders on the SD were lost in TWRP. Changed back to exFAT: couldn't see them either..
When using adopted storage (i.e. formatting external SD and using it as internal storage), then /sdcard in Android becomes /emmc in TWRP. At least it's what I see here using TWRP 3.0.0 Dark Blue.
From what I've looked, all internal storage is used only for app and app data once I started using adopted storage, so the only way I can think of using internal storage in TWRP to flash anything is either sideloading or using MTP in TWRP.
I managed updating through sideload.
1. Connect your phone to your computer via USB
2. Activate sideload in TWRP (advanced)
3. In platform-tools folder press Shift+right click to open commandline
4. If your device is connected properly ('adb devices') you can sideload zips (in platformfolder) via the command 'adb sideload filename.zip'
5. Restart device. Note: It took a few minutes for all apps to appear in the appdrawer again.
Thank you all for your help! I will looks after the folder emmc, but as I see no files, just folders anywhere, I am not that hopeful. But at least it works now

What did you wipe prior to your sideload? I want to do a wipe and fresh install of gapps and cm13, but I am afraid I could soft brick my phone.
I chose both. Dalvik and the other option ( I believe cache). No issues.

Mine gets stuck at "detected filesystem ext4 for /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system" then it just reboots to TWRP again. Sideload says "
serving: 'cm-13.0-20160322-NIGHTLY-w7.zip' (~0%) * failed to read command: No error". Did you wipe system before you sideloaded?
I did not wipe anything beforehand.
My Oneplus 3t recently got a bootloop issue where the phone won't turn on, it only getting warm, with either green or white notification light on. The only way to turn off the phone is by entering fastboot, then I can enter recovery, or turn off the phone. I already try clearing cache, delete data, and reinstalling stock OS 5.0.8 twice, but it still facing the same problem. And also, if i wipe cache through recovery, the device will load the OS, enter the new phone set up process, then freeze up after a few seconds, then the screen goes off, device got warm, and the cycle continues. Is there any solution for this issue? is it a motherboard issue? or battery issue perhaps?
Sounds like a failed system upgrade. Also downgrading to OxygenOS 2.x is not a good idea due to changes in encryption methodology between OxygenOS generations. As long as you can unlock the encryption in recovery, I would recommend you to backup the internal data storage using "adb pull /sdcard" and then use the Qualcomm factory restore solution to return phone to factory defaults, hopefully the phone will return to working order and you would then run "adb push" path to local copy of sdcard dump" /" to restore all your photos and files. You will of course lose the info in the data partition, but since there's a great chance that there's where the problem lies I don't see any other way to get back on track.

Okey, well then your problem is not in the system partition but rather in the data partition as i suspected.

You using stock recovery, or TWRP?
If you are using TWRP, you can format the storage (in Wipe options) and see if that helps.

i'm using stock recovery, is formating storage = wipe everything? if so, I did that a couple times already
I haven't used stock recovery for years so I wouldn't know what Oneplus define as "storage". But doing a factory restore in recovery should erase the data partition where the system saves all configuration files and folders and where apps store protected data.
And if that doesn't helt, then you just follow the Qualcomm factory restore guide here in the forums, that will for sure restore your phone to working order, as long as there's no hardware at fault of course.

No, wiping and formatting are not the same. Formatting will sometimes fix data partition corruption, when wiping doesn't usually do that. It's fairly easy to do on custom recovery (TWRP). But no option for that on stock recovery, unfortunately.
you can try formating using fastboot command
"fastboot format userdata" then sideload the latest OOS ROM
