I am frequently having problem of accidentally pushing the play button on my headset and music player start playing music. Is there anyway to disable play key on headset? It is really irritating me.

With poweramp you can customise or disable the button functions on headset.

I tried to control the mp3 player with the headphone but all it does is stop/play .. is there some combination or setting to skip songs also?
I know poweramp can do this, but it sucks alot of battery so I would like to avoid using it.
Or is there any lightweight mp3 player that supports the button skip?
I looked in the manual and searched google but didnt find anything.
I remember answering this once... forgot the answer though. But yes, there should be a way to skip songs.
2 taps to skip forward, 3 to skip back

I did several searches, but was unable to find an answer to this. I hope one of you can enlighten me
I recently installed the "Listen" app to listen to podcasts. When i plug in the stock headphones that come with the Captivate and then click the mic button on it, it will bring up & control the media player playback instead of Listen. Is there a way to configure the behavior of this button? Is there a way to keep it from bringing up the Media Player app and instead control the Listen app?
Thanks!
I've been having the same issue. I installed winamp, but I get the same thing.
I installed doubleTwist, and it looks like it properly takes over button so that the stock music player app is no longer launched. Does this mean Listen is not doing it right?
When I push the button on the wired headset's switch on the wire, the music player starts playing.
And I was unable to find the option to switch it off.
pls, help!

I am using poweramp music player and with single press on the wire headset, the music starts and if i press again the music stops. You can configure the headset button according to your convenience. You can do this by opening the poweramp and go to the setting. Within this setting, you will will find an option called "headset". There you can set your response option of the headset bottom. There is also a software in the android market for configuring the headset button response. Hope this response help.

(I accidentally posted to the wrong forum this morning (Butterfly Q&A) which is why I'm reposting it here, mods.)
Just got my One yesterday and I have an extensive music library stored with Google Music. As you have to use their app to play streamed music stored on their service, I noticed that even with maximum volume settings, it is not playing as loud as I hoped through the speakers. Headphone volume is fine and also other apps like YouTube play loud so it's not apparently the phone, but apparently limitations in the Play Music app? It makes no difference with beats on or off and yes, I have maximum volume set for "media and music" in settings plus the volume rocker on the phone is set to max. Does anyone know of an app I can use with Play Music to increase the sound when using the speakers and has anyone else noticed this?
i use poweramp try that

Thanks for the suggestion jay and I've used Poweramp before and it works good. The only problem is that you're forced to use Google's "Play Music" app to play your music stored on their servers AFAIK. I guess I can just transfer some to the phone outright and use poweramp.
Has anybody run into the issue of being able to pause music with the inline button on their headphones, but not able to resume music?
I'm not using the stock Samsung headphones, but on my Note 3 I didn't have a problem pausing/resuming music with these headphones.
Yeah, for me the music app rarely responds to play/pause and is inconsistent about loading at all. Very frustrating.

I'm getting this issue using Google Play Music as well. I think I might have remembered this issue when I was using my Note 3. I might try disabling the music app and see if that fixes it!
I have similar issues with the controls... e.g. I'll be watching kodi and press the play/pause button... the video will stop and my music app (which isn't even open) will immediately start playing. Pressing the button again will pause the music and so on... like kodi doesnt exist.... dont seem to have the issue with pandora though... is there any particular software running that tells the inline controls to only support music or whatever? Can it be configured?
