Hi guys i have a galaxy s phone and it's working really great, but now a days it shows me some weird battery problems...
ProblemNo:1.Some times my battery shows like 45% or like that and it goes up to 46 or 47% after a few minutes during discharge
2.Some times when i have about 55% then if i remove my battery and put it back and when i reboot it shows only 5%, this problem is very rare but it's occurred more than 2 times
3. when i am charging my phone it's reach up to 99% then it drop down to 98% then 99,100
These are my problems,i am using MIUI 2.4.20 ROM
what causing these problems is it my battery faulty or do i have a hardware problem
or is it the ROM
please any one help me.....
Have you tried wiping the battery stats in cwm?
Or, trying a battery calibration app from the play store? For example, Battery Calibration.
Problem number 1 occurred to me a few times it isn't a serious issue.
Problem 3 you need to wipe battery stats and calibrate your battery (play store has apps for that)

My guess is that using multiple batteries is playing havoc with your battery stats, but what the solution is I have no idea to be honest

Yes i use battery calibration and every known app to wipe my battery stats file also i even wipe it from cwm but no luck

i am using only one battery not multiple batteries
i don't think that battery stats file has anything to do with this problem, it's something else...
my worst fear is that is it my phone's any hardware part is faulty.....!!
Or guys is this problem occur if my battery is faulty....?
help me to sort out the problem............

I fond that if its at say 50% and I reboot and it drops to say 5% it takes ages to discharge that 5% so I guess it has the same charge just reading it wrong, if I leave it for a while without using it it will go back up

Just a quick one and any responses from personal experiance would be great.
Has anyone used an app to re-calibrate the battery? If so did it help or did it seem to make the battery life worse?
I had a major drain on my battery so did a complete reinstall of tweaky ROM and the drain has stopped. Just wondering if I should bother to recalibrate

Calibration did not help me, I have the same stamina... JVH + Criskelo v56 + CF-Root 3.2
from those many many times i have tried to do calibration in all possible ways that has being suggested even waiting a few days for the cycle to end...
my conclusion its bull**** it depends on the rom or apps that are running ....
the only thing it does it shows u 100% when u finish charging in case u dont see it already.
Does it work or does waiting two weeks for battery to settle down work .

My findings are similar to JJE. After flashing a ROM, it will take 4-5 charge cycles (just charging every night, nothing special....may run down to 0% after first charge) before I see a stable, decent battery life.

Ditto, I try not to judge a ROMs battery appetite until about a week, espescially if I was to lazy to flash at 100%.. But I think that is what is meant by battery calibration..

hey guys,
i got a little problem with my sgs: it shows me that the battery charges itselfs if i don't use my phone for a little bit (for example: i play half an our lane splitter and battery goes to 23% then i leave it for an our in standby and when i come back it shows 28!)

Did you also try battery calibration app from market?I don't know if it does anything else than clearing battery stats, but I think it's worth trying...root is needed though.

You can try to do a wipe battery stats in recovery after you have done a full charage.
..
Maybe just your battery is already death, try another battery if you have a possibility.

I have this issue too. I think it estimates battery and when it is left to idle it gets more accurate. I notice if I continue using it it still dies but idling saved battery..... could show battery percentage according to usage ? ( although I'm guessing here)

So my phone died earlier and I charged it up to 100%. Note that I was also running ICS4Bionic (latest build). So I switched back to stock by toggling Safe Mode and it tells me that my battery charge is at 40%.. (???)
I rebooted just to make sure and the battery level IS ACTUALLY AT 40%. Weirdest thing I've ever seen. Do I need to do something with battery stats or what? It doesn't even make sense.

I essentially had the same problem. 100% to 40% when switching back to nonsafe.
It's probably not actually draining. Maybe you just need to reset the battery stats like it was suggested. It did work for me.

Mine is a different problem. I know what your talking about because that happened to me also. I'm talking about my battery level draining really fast while in using it. I've reset the battery stats already and recollaberated it. My cell standby is really draining the battery very fast.

Get a free battery calibrate app from market. Wiping battery stats do no really do anything reported by Google.
I was messing with my phone (rooting, testing out roms, etc.) and I decided I just wanted plain old stock. So I put it back to stock (official 2.3.5 gingerbread) and rooted it. Then I decided to calibrate the battery by using the Battery Calibration app in the Play Store.
Now my battery drains about 15% every hours in standby mode. Do I need to wait more time for the Battery calibration to take effect?
The calibration doesn't work on stock it only work on custom ROMs... kies calibrates the phone and reset the batterystats.bin so there should be something else killing your battery especially 3g...disable what ever you are not using rotation/data sync/bt/ ect.

"Calibrating" the battery is huge myth. It does absolutely nothing.
batterystats.bin is used to display what has been using your battery in about phone/battery use. That's it. Has nothing to do with calculating the remaining battery, or does not improve or decrease battery life in any way.
Furthermore it is reset EVERY TIME YOU CHARGE TO 100%

That's what I've read but it must do something, because since I ran that app and 'recalibrated' the battery, the battery dies in about 7 hours on stand-by. It would last me all day before I ran that app.
I did find one thing that was using battery on standby...my Beautiful Widgets Live Wallpaper. I set the wallpaper turned off the screen and after three hours I checked the battery use. I found that 'Display' was using the most at 50%. And during that time, it drained about 45%. I'll keep testing.
Oh yeah forgot live wall paper kill around 20% never use it so case close....

It looks like that's the culprit. I must've put on the live wallpaper sometime after 'recalibrating' and didn't remember. I'll let you know if I have anymore problems.

hello
after flashing a few roms, my battery gauge is messed up.
the things i noticed, when my ace turns off deu to low power. the gauge shows 0%.
but when my ace shuts it self down and i plug in the wall charger. the battery gauge shows me a percentage around 75%.
the things i have done to solve this problem is deleting battery stats by cwm and a calibration app nothing did solve the problem.
also i have let the battery drain to zero and then charge it up to 100 and let it drain to zero again. also that didnt solve my problem.
so i flashed back the stock rom by odin. also not solving the problem.
is ther another way to solve the problem

The problem is not with your battery. It's with the battery notifier in the ace. It works well for a time and then goes absolutely crazy. Whenever your battery gets low, about 10% for example, connect the charger and charge blindly for 3 hours. Don't worry about the 100% notification. Try your battery now. It should be fine now. But if you're using battery extender kernel, there's a bug in it that brings down the battery for 50% in a short time after using.

i`am on stock gingerbread, the phone is about two years old. i also noticed that when i turn of my phone and pull the battery out for about three minutes en then put it back in the percentage is higher. so i do think that the battery gauge is messed p but when i use a calibration app to solve it, it gets worse or doesnt change. when i use code *#*#4636#*#* the status of my battery is good. im thinking to buy a new battery but i doubt that it would solve my problem.
Calibration is all fake. Do as I said and you'll definitely witness the results.

Hi, I have the same problem with the ace of my wife. When I charge it, it says 100% after 10 min charging !
And when I use it not charging, it drops down ...
I try to let it charge longer, but is that sure that the battery continue charging even if the notifier indicates 100% ?
I'm on [ROM] CM7.2-DEMOCRACY FINAL EDITION .. is there also a kernel to change to help ?

in dialer u must enter the code *#*#4636#*#* there will appear 4 tabs there is one for battery tap it and you wil see the health of youre battery.
Guys, forget about battery level notification, etc. Any app doing so would collect the info from the android itself. Just do as I said. Everything will be fine.

I bought my wife a new battery @2000mA and she lasts 2 days now, so the answer seems to be the battery-life ...

CM 9, 10.1,PAC consume battery like hell, but not that much also.
If there r such huge drops that too after charging the fone for 3 hrs then i guess there is a problem with the battery.

I too have the crazy battery problem, but funny thing is if i were to ignore the indicator and just use it from a 3hr-full charge till it dies off, i could achieve 2.5hours of internet surfing (wifi not 3g). To me this is good enough, all calibration fixes do not work for me. Any suggestions?
PS: I have the system time problem too with S'perience Rom, Eg. when i shut down the phone at 1pm to remove the simcard, after booting up the phone the time shows 11am. This happened to me more than 5 times this week. I dono if it's the rom or the battery that gives this problem. I dono about how it was when running stock rom because this phone does not belong to me. Any help is much appreciated.

Try a full discharge and then plug your phone until it is fully charged, finally without unplug it boot into CWM and wipe battery stats, finally reboot and charge it until 100%
