Can any1 school me on this?
I flashed LPF to my polish N7000 along w a new bootloader & csc (Hong Kong TGY) I flashed them all...it works great
I want 2 go to 4.0.4
but I'm worried about my bootloader and csc since most stayed on LPA & didn't flash the new bootloader I'm worried my downgrade process is different...I don't kno anything about bootloaders and understandably w all the bricking drama I'm paranoid about it...
Can any1 tell me what Rom kernal bootloader csc should I flash...to safely get off LPF and get 2 a safe rooted versatile ICS kernal through GB?
-Thanks

A safe bet would be to go to stock GB, root it, flash required recovery and then flash the 4.0.4 through the GB Recovery you have installed. Or use Abyss and flash your way through. Cheers!

This ^^
But bare in mind that there are no "Safe" 100% kernels on ICS - in 4.0.4 the reports seems to be that brickbug is still present in the kernel..
Most, if not all will tell you never to reset / factory wipe with ICS Kernel.

Yes, you can flash CF-Root using PC Odin or Heimdall, but you will get the triangle and trip your binary counter.
There is a way to do it without voiding your warranty. Go to Abyss thread, and you will find out how.

[UPDATED]
Bootloaders...
1. i9000 was launched with Éclair so the bootloader was of course an Éclair bootloader?
My answer: Yes (Or a Froyo one... before Froyo came out).
2. People who upgraded to Gingerbread from Éclair without upgrading via Kies had to flash a Gingerbread bootloader via Odin?
My answer: Yes, unless flashing different rom complete with a bootloader.
3. Flashing ANY rom wont change the bootloader? Like CyanogenMod.
My answer: No, some rom's do come complete with a bootloader like stock or stock based ones. But CyanogenMod does not.
4. I'm running CM9... does that mean I have an Ice Cream Sandwich bootloader now?
My answer: No, the Gingerbread bootloader is more than capable.
Are my own answers correct?
I'm so confused by different things I've read off the net... please please someone put my mind to rest! I'm writing a few BIG guides and kinda came unstuck when I got to this subject lol.

No cyanogenmod packages come with bootloaders. I don't think that cwm will flash them. I think you need Odin or Heimdall to flash bootloaders. Unless you flashed a package that had bootloaders, you should still be on gb bootloaders, which work for just about everything.

1. Idk that was along time ago lol
2. If you update with Odin factory images, it always contains the boot loader.
3/4. Flashing custom ROMs use the gingerbread bootloader, and do not change it ever.

You want to unroot... which you don't need to to upgrade! Use Odin! Btw, do some reading around here! READ READ READ! AND USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!
but when my phone operator want to make an over air update it download then it say cant upgrade because unlocked bootloader.
I have only root it with abyss kernel. for some apps.
OTA needs stock recovery so stock kernel .. you need to flash stock rom using pc odin or mobile odin to install OTA updates
ok.

There is guide for that, look for it. You can't just flash any GB.

of course there is a guide to downgrade, but he's rightly saying ZSMG2 has some issue with the modem file. I've already posted the problem at 3 different threads. once you flash ZSMG2 then you cant even flash any other JB stock rom, coz once u do it shows everything in 'about phone' section as unknown e.g. baseband IMEI etc. once u flash it again, everything becomes normal. I spent 2 weeks thinking I've bricked my fone but ultimately I flashed it n now its working though I really want to flash JVBMD1 but I cant. any views? and thanks in advance.
Edit: can someone try it. Or maybe find a way to edit that modemfs folder file. It seems as if ZSMG2 has gotten printed on the device which cannot be changed. Otherwise, any1 trying to flash this rom, pls dont. Not becoz its laggy or sumthng but bcoz of the reason mentioned above. Thanx
i think my phone locked and only zsmg2 can flashed and other ROM stock cannot flash
only i have one problem is don't have Farsi keyboard in stock ROM
