Camera not working! - HTC Incredible S

Hey guys, today my IncS camera application stopped working I am on stock 2.3.3 gingerbread and sense 2.1. Is there a way to fix this? I've tried powering off and powering back on, and restarting. Then I tried to force stop the camera app and it still doesn't fully load.
Edit: I found a solution on the internet. All I had to do was take out the battery and reboot and it worked!

Have you tried clearing app data for Camera app?

If clearing the app doesn't work try a factory reset...

I really don't want to wipe the whole thing just for the camera. I have a lot of stuff on it. Any other ways?

I guess if you're on stock than no. Did you try an other camera app like lgcamera?

I tried camera ics, still doesn't work. Any camera application just goes to a black screen and stays like that until I hit the home button. (Back button does not work when it is like this)

Clear the data for the app etc etc and check all your settings.
Accelerator problem by the sounds of it... have you dropped the phone before or anything? If not then it's just bad luck I'm afraid.
I have dropped my phone

HTC desire c stuck in landscape

Hi
I'm wondering if anyone can help me out with this. I have the desire c (branded to 3 and rooted) it has worked great for awhile but recently the screen keeps going into landscape and getting stuck there (even when holding it up right) I've tried turning auto rotate off but it still happens usually a restart fixes it for awhile but then it starts again. I found a app on the market that can force it back into portrait but then I can't make some apps full screen like YouTube. I've tried a factory reset a few times both through settings and by pushing power and volume up but not long after it starts happening again.
Anyone have any idea why this is happening?
Thanks.

Maybe you should backup your current rom, and then install a custom one maybe some files relating to the sensors could be corrupt.
Thanks i may try using a generic rom to see if it fixes it. What's the best way to back up my current rom? Gonna need to go back to it if I have to sent it off to get fixed.

Well I tried nameless Rom but it didn't fix it so looks like I'm gonna have to send my phone off for repair

Try calibrating your sensors.

Thanks I tried that but no luck the odd thing is the sensor seems to work cause I can play that game where you control the ball with the sensor. But its started doing other stuff now like it keeps turning the screen on on its own and putting phone on loud speaker and pausing music etc.

Weird... The game works, but the accelorometer doesn't work at other places

My wife's Desire C has the same problem. Stuck in landscape most of the time. Screen turning on, phonecalls sometimes suddently go to speaker. Sensors are working fine if you ask me.
I was trying to root it when I read this topic, I still might try a custom rom though.
Glad I'm not the only one who had this problem. Maybe there's a fault with some of the handsets or something.
I gave up and sent mine off for repair now.

Heyyy!!! Did u find any solution for your problem. My phone is also starting to behave in the same way....
I think I found the solution. It seems like the problem is with HTC's ROM based on ICS 4.0 and 4.0.4. I tried just about any ROM based on ICS (stock and custom) with any kernel combination and the problem repeats itself.
Flashed CM 10.1 and the problem is gone.

Perform a full wipe of everything except SD card. Install stock ROM and see if it works. If not then its probably a hardware defect

My HTC incredible s has the same problem. I installed Sabsa, everything works fine only softkeys backlight not work (

It is against the forum rules, that you agreed upon when signing up for this website, to bump before 24 hours of no activity.
See above, you can bump posts after 24 hours, understand you are experiencing issues, try google to see if other folks outside of XDA have had similar issues.
I did google first thats why I ask is it a hard ware issue

[Q] CM10 Camera Problem

Hello,
I'm new on these forums and my English is't wonderfull, sorry for that.
I got a HTC Desire c Rooted and with CM10, NOPE Kernel. My problem is the camera, I don't like the stock android camera with the grey box. So I searched for APK-files and found some good ones(Google camera, the on with the blue button).
It all worked fine but when I try to take a picture of a face it Force Closes itself.
This is with all the files I tried. there is also no option to disable face recognisation.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I'm running Andoid 4.1.2
Thanks
You can use Cyanogenmod 10.1 camera apk.it is not boxed but you can only have 3 mp cam

Hi,
I'm using cm10.0 with 4.1.2 But that camera is for 4.2
Is that a problem or not?
---------EDIT------
So, I flashed tjhe cm 10.1 camera. It runs but when I try to snap a picture of a face it force closes
Isn't there a fix for this? or is this something else like missing files on my phone.

What do you mean?
The stock camera isn't causing the problem. It is just ugly XD
It is with all the cameras I tried but they all FC when I try to take a picture of a face.
Could this be a missing or broken Face detection module?
Is this fixable?
I'm using another camera (camera zoom fx) but I prefer the minimalistic one with the blue dot (KitKat I think)
Julian
I know.... It is sort of ugly, but since it works, I use it.

Dunno.... Bugs while porting the apk I guess.
