GPS FasterFix Europe
What does it do : It will change/create your "gps.conf" file, so your phone will connect with the Nokia NTP Servers in Europe instead of Google. You should get a faster GPS fix.
Installation : apply zip in CWM Recovery

Hidden menu fix : use nokia servers & avtivate SLP Auto Provision
all credits to conceptics @ modaco !!
To get it to work as flawless I have made the following adjustments that seem to work well:
1. Go into the LG hidden menu
2. Go into GPS Test
3. Go into System Settings
4. MOLR Protocol (is set to User-Plane)
5. SULP Setting -> SLP Server Setting, I created a new one for the nokia servers (slp address: supl.nokia.com, port: 7275, no cert and no TLS setting)
6. SLP Auto Provision is activated
I'm in Switzerland and with this settings (supl.nokia.com), the GPS fix is relatively quick and works consistently within about 10 seconds of starting Google-Maps.
Still not sure if this is indeed FR15 related or if the problem is purely SSL Certificate related. If it is SSL Certificate related wouldn't the problem be much more widespread and wouldn't google already have updated the certificate by now?
Anyway, hope the above works at least as a temporary workaround.

this fix really works like a charm, you nearly get an instant fix !
access hidden menu :
In launcher pro you just press and hold on one of the home screens until a menu shows up.
Select "Shortcuts" then choose "Activities" scroll down until you find com.lge.hiddenmenu.
tap on it then tap on HiddenMenu. now you have a shortcut on the home screen.
if you have cooked ROM without hidden menu, you can use my zip to install in recovery first :

my zip can´t be the reason for this behavior ...
it just copies "gps.conf" to system/etc
if you like to remove it : navigate to system/etc with root explorer, mount rw, and delete "gps.conf"
that´s it !
does it work for the stock rom???
Nice fix, just pushed the file with root explorer on system/etc, now faster fix work on Stock Rom (V10c).

hi, i use ginger dx since the first version and am having the same problem since the beginning. i cant post in the gdx thread coz i m nt experienced enough. well, the problem is with GPS. my phone never shows the gps idle or working icon on the statusbar. and my position on the gps, too is never accurate. i tried faster fix and many apps but the problem persists. please help me!
It's strange, I never had such problem. For me GPS "only" is turning off data traffic when appear. Try to do "clean" installation of GingerDX (flashtool+root+xRecovery) and full wipe after. Did you had such problems on stock rom?

Use the fasterfix app again, set location. Or maybe you can try using gps libs from FreeXperia team.
Edit;
Backup first and copy all of this into your /etc/gps.conf file. Erase every line in there other than the one about NTP_SERVER before copying this into there.

No it isn't Google's problem . Some people have experienced the same with cm10 .

Hi,
I had a few problems with GPS in IZS so I search a bit and try to compile a fix. For me, this appears to be working... But other testers and appreciated
You just have to do the fowling:
In recovery, flash the attached zip
After reboot, using a app like GPS Test (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chartcross.gpstest&hl=en), clear AGPS data
Please, give feedback.
UPDATE:
I've uploaded a new fix (GPS_fix_2_world). This is a different fix from the other, one that isn't depended on any continent.

UPDATE2 - NEW FIX - From Mackey
I've upload a new GPS fix - GPS_FIX_WORLD.zip
This fix is based on Mackey/ShenDu/MokeeOS's ROM, and to be sincere, it is the best fix I've ever seen so far. I've got a lock within a minute without any data/wifi on, without any AGPS data...
Steps for this fix:
Turn off wifi/mobile data (so that it wont download any new AGPS data)
Clear the AGPS data (to be a clean slate)
Reboot to recovery
Flash the fix
Clear cache and dalvik cache (this is the first time I tried and it seems a important step for the fix to work)
Reboot and that's it
Please, try it and give feedback!
UPDATE3 - NEW FIX - Using LG server
After many hours of testing... He is my conclusion. The GPS alone can't get a useful signal...
To make this new fix work...
turn off the AGPS*
clear the AGPS data
delete the files (not folder) in /data/gps
reboot to recovery and flash (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42195149&postcount=56)
reboot
open an app like GPS Status and download the AGPS data only from the app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eclipsim.gpsstatus2)
* To turn on/off the AGPS go to localization services and turn on the option that is something like "use wifi and/or mobile data to determine your location"
Don't use AGPS from localization services... You just have to download the AGPS from time to time.
UPDATE4: NEW GPS FIX TWEAKED BY DCOP7
I've made a new fix and I want a few testers. Who can help me?
To make this new fix work...
turn off the AGPS*
delete the files (not folder) in /data/gps
reboot to recovery and flash GPS_fix_tweaked_by_dcop7.zip
Turn on mobile data of Wifi and open GPS Status or something. This will download a file explained below
Need to turn on mobile data or wifi when getting a GPS signal every few days to refresh the file downloaded in point 4.
* To turn on/off the AGPS go to localization services and turn on the option that is something like "use wifi and/or mobile data to determine your location"
What is the difference between this fix and other fixes?
This fix is configured to download the information: Long Term Orbits. This information is like and enhanced AGPS data. The Mackey fix sometimes use this information, that is why some people get a lock very fast, even if they clear AGPS (this information isn't cleared when GPS Status clean the AGPS data). To clear every bit of AGPS data, delete the files present in /data/gps (point 2).
What took me a long time to understand is when this information is downloaded, what interval, etc... It was difficult to understand why the Mackey fix download this information without any patter. That is why, with Mackey fix, after a few days, the GPS performance dropped.
I think I figure it out. Please, test this fix and give some feedback.

Cm10.1 and no change after flash. Maybe the issue is CM itself
I'll try another place with IZS tomorrow.
Thank you for your work, I am curious to read other experiences on JB.
It was my reason for switching from JB to IZS. GPS never worked for me on JB, but it's working as a blast on IZS. I don't know how huexxx did it, but I always have a fix within 5 seconds outside, and within 20 seconds inside.
