Got another system update after 4.1.1 - Nexus 7 General

Expect to to get this soon. It was only 859kb. It said performance would increase. It sure did! Those random micro lags are 95 percent gone. Sweet!

Yes I did!

my real question is, is it going to make my Google Now stupid?

It didn't fix anything :l

On my unlocked, rooted, N7 I tried to apply the update but it error'd out on the recovery screen. After rebooting, it remained at the old build # and says it is up to date & will not even try to update again.

you need stock recovery or disable signature verification in CWM

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1775746

Thanks, after a little digging, I was able to figure our how to disable signature verification in CWM & locate the update .zip file in the /cache folder. I copied the update file into my /sdcard/download folder then rebooted into recovery & flashed the update. All updated now.

Received it yesterday. Booted it one time. Turned debugging on, typed "adb reboot-bootloader" and unlocked the bootloader, flashed CWM. Booted into CWM and flashed AOKP.
My Nexus 4 was shipped with pre-production software.
I think I have to change something before I get the update as well, because I got the AOSP browser or something. I really hope there's nothing else in the way, since I've only rooted and unlocked the bootloader other than that.
Just sideloaded it, pretty cool process.
Just as predicted. December is back in the People app. Nothing else is different, as far as I can tell.
Edit: The Kernel still has the November 8th date stamp, that obviously hasn't been played around with.

The usb host function is not working at all. When you use a usb otg cable to connect something like a keyboard, mouse or android accessory it dose not power or recognize the device like it should. Its still unknown if this is a software or hardware problem.

With CWM recovery you need to download the ota zip file for your N7 (wifi or 3g) which can be installed in CWM recovery. I know it can because that's what I did. Updating lost root and CWM recovery, but I used Wugfresh Nexus Root Toolkit to get root and reinstall recovery. I actually installed TWRP recovery and flashed Chainfire's SuperSu 1.43 to complete the root process. Now I'm updated with TWRP recovery and root.
Got mine. Booted into TWRP bit updated. OTA Rootkeeper didn't work. Will need to re-root.

Grouper and Sky Go

This has got me totally demented. I need sky go to keep up with the footie when I'm away from home. I dunno what detection routines sky go uses but it sucks lol.
I've tried unrooting various ROMs using supersu to no avail.
So now I've installed multirom and slimkat 4.4, tried titanium complained about no root. Tried a few other apps with the same result, excellent.
Tried sky go, as usual it teases me, everything is looking good then the dreaded message "sky go is not supported on rooted android device"
So how the f**k can sky go detect it but nothing else can

Sorry for the double post. Tapatalk :-\
the only way to get it working is to have it completely stock, any kernel/rom thats not stock will cause the error so if you have the superuser app its still rooted

I suspect they're doing something crazy like checksumming the system partition. That would explain also why even minor OS updates render it unusable for weeks (4.4 support? Dream on..), and it only works on a limited subset of phones.
I reckon it's possible to make one that works on most stuff but any attempt at decompiling/recompiling the APK breaks it as it also internally checks itself to make sure it's not been modified, and I haven't dug far enough to remove that check.

Great minds are working on things. With the kernel source just released development should start picking up.
Awesome! Got the phone on impulse and did not see if anyone was getting into the development and was not aware when the source was released. I'm glad to hear this, I'm not one of the people that push for ETA's so I didn't want to come off the wrong way!

Sent from my 831C using Tapatalk
usually when everything is quite that's a very good sign. That means that devs are doing their thing and by the look of it. They are the kind of devs that don't release half done roms. That's always good for us.
So lets just be patient and enjoy the ride.

Mines working fine. No issues as far as I can tell. Battery seems to have taken a hit, then again might need a few cycles.
I didn't even get to see what was new in 4.4.3, lol! I needed to reset to factory due to insufficient space as my son downloads ever free game under the moon and was running Uber slow!
