I was at the mall yesterday and my family has been having problems with AT&T
and considering switching so we checked out verizon...
I live in a city of about 80k so its suprising verizon actually has LTE where i am... AT&T only has 4g so i was pretty eager to try it out..
Well, i was really impressed!! I got 20mps down and 10mps up.
In comparison i tried out a iphone 3gs on at&t and it got .31mps down and .1mps up. Normally its better though like 1.7mps down 1 mps up.
Its really cool to see how far mobile techlogy has come!! Its faster then my home internet lol!

Your lucky. If you lived anywhere around where I live those decimals would be moved one digit to the left on Tmo.
I get at least 20 down and 5 up. I have personally gotten as high as 44 down and average in the 25-30 down range.
Been with Verizon for years, and yes its a little pricer than other providers but you get what you pay for.
A bigger LTE network than the other big 3 carriers combined.

Does Anyone know if huspa takes MORE, LESS, or EQUAL amount of data as 3G??
It takes equal amounts of data, H just does it faster. And speeds depends on your modem, and the service where you live.

If I'm correct, it's showing the cell tower icons in the picture next to the recorded speeds, so he is receiving those speeds on HSDPA/HSUPA. Great download speeds, I average between 3-4mb/s. Google Fiber
If you get internet plus TV for $120 per month, you get a free N7 for the remote. With a 2 year contract.
Only catch seems to be moving to Kansas City.
And according to this article, the general public got the N7 a week after the I/O. Someone didn't really check his facts.
At any rate, I hope google fiber works out in KC.
I'm in KC.. and I sure wish the coverage maps were looking a bit better. Or I hope they plan to expand. I currently know no one that lives in the covered area.
Imagine being a mile or two from where the cutoff is currently. If I never get it because of that 2 miles. ugh
I will move but I won't be happy about it. lol
Essentially the plan is TV and Internet, for 120 a month. If you sign a 2 year agreement they waive the 300 install fee.
Your remote control is a Nexus 7 tablet. You can watch on 8 different tv's. 500hour dvr, and 1tb cloud storage.
This is going to put Comcast and Time Warner along with all the others when it goes to other cities out of business. I'm all for it.

The other thing that I think is cool about this is, think of all those households that are iPad and iphone only. Simply because they don't know any better. They're all going to have an android tablet now. The more they use it, surely the more they'll like it.
This could be huge as far as the android vs. ios battle goes.

Google Fiber will never come to Canada. If Google tries Rogers, Bell, Telus, Shaw would go running to the CRTC and block it. Just look how much trouble Wind had when it opened up in Canada, I know its a different industry but its pretty much governed the same way. :crying:

It cost me $899 + 13% tax ($116.87) = $1,015.87 (Atleast they offered free shipping!)
Now, after paying that much, I better hope this phone is real good. I am already on 4S 64GB but you can say that I am an iSheep!
The fast graphics chip, bigger screen and LTE really got me going. My LTE data plan can finally be put to real use. What you all think?
EDIT: Oh I can also sell off the 4S 64GB Black + several accessories (3 high quality juice packs, otterbox etc) for a good $550 - $600 hopefully. It is locked to BELL. So I am only paying $400 or so out of my pocket.

I think something got lost in translation on that. A 300 year plan is not something investors want to hear. At least not American investors. That's a lot of time for something to go wrong or to fail to turn a profit.

I am a Sprint customer. Their service sucks sometimes but the price keeps me with them. If the competition would offer comparable plans at even only slightly above Sprint's rates I would make the switch. I don't think they have another 300 years in them, especially without an American company at the helm.
Sprint and softbank. Interesting...

I here you on getting rid of VZ, I got screwed out of unlimited data over a year ago and still pissed about it. The problem is I can barley even watch 30 min. episodes on Netflix a month or I end up going over with all the other data I use.

Well I thought the same thing, but then i realized that I would rather pay the outrageous price and have ridiculously fast 4G LTE EVERYWHERE!!... unfortunately I am still with sprint
Sprint is alright in my books where I live (after I got the airave the only place left without strong service in my city is covered), but I want 4G everywhere I go, and faster and more 3G, and better phones (not their fault). If softbank keeps most of the prices/plans/contracts the same, and just boosts mobile data speeds and coverage I cant wait for Sprint to be bought out!
Yeah I agree, I hope soft bank improves the network and I think they should transform it into a GSM Network...id love that

Yeah we just can't win. Meanwhile Verizon users will be pulling 20mb+
I was contemplating leaving Sprint, BUT LTE is going up all over the place here and depending on signal strength I get great LTE speeds.
Plus with my Sero plan, I'm glad I stuck with Sprint.

But this makes me not glad I'm on Sprint

That's terrible speeds. Mine used to be slow but now my area has full LTE and I get speeds between 20 to 30 down and 5 to 8 up consistently. Plus unlimited makes it totally tje best.

Okay, even if the T-Mobile variant is unlocked, most people will have a locked bootloader on their S4. Sprint's still the minority.
Update: *The T-Mobile Galaxy S4 currently has an unlocked bootloader, contrary to the company's statement to The Verge, we have reached out for more information. Thanks to François Simond and Justin Case for the correction.

Hopefully the AT&T/Verizon variants will be as easy to unlock as the S3 was on Verizon. It didn't seem to take too long for the S3/Note 2 to have their bootloader unlocked.
S4 on Sprint so far.
Hey there... about Sprint:
Was pretty happy with picking up my S4 from Sprint.
Went to check it out on the second day of sales. They said, "Oh, we just sold the last one a couple hours ago."
I was all like, "Oh crap, and I wasn't going to come at all because I thought they would be sold out."
The guy said, "We will have more tomorrow"
So I came back the next day and got one!

Sprint appears to be the most loving when it comes to XDA or Rootz development.

This is what is confusing to me. If it is 100% up to the carriers (like everyone keeps saying) on whether a device is locked or not than how come they lock one device and not the other? Things that make you go Hmmmm.
