Could someone please help me?
I succesfully installed "Universal auto Install Root, Busybox, Enable BLN , Init.d support, Swap support and OC kernel upto 1.1Ghz".
My phone was running perfect, but I wanted to try Swapper 2 (for Root users). After I installed Swapper 2 and rebooted my phone, the Samsung logo appears (and is moving a bit strange) and my phone won't boot.
I don't see any graphics on the screen, so I don't know if I'm able to boot recovery mode.
Odin is stuck on '<ID:0/010> SetupConnection..'.
First, I used the method from mk-14 to root my S6500D.
After that, I flashed the original Mini 2 firmware from SamFirmware.
Then, I flashed ClockWorkMod 5.0.2.8 (Jena).
After that, I flashed "Universal auto Install Root, Busybox, Enable BLN , Init.d support, Swap support and OC kernel upto 1.1Ghz".
The problem started after I used Parted Magic to add a swap partition (already had a EXT4 partition) to my SD card and installed Swapper 2 (for Root users). After I turned off my phone, it wouldn't boot normally anymore.
There are no graphics when booting. Only a black background, strange white bar (which is moving a little bit) on the side and the white Samsung logo. After trying some button combinations, sometimes it boots without the Samsung logo (so a black background with a white bar which sometimes becomes 1px smaller).

When I attach my phone to my computer (W7 Home Premium 64 bit), it recognizes the phone, but I can't use Odin to flash the stock rom back.
Device Manager show:
- Modems:
SAMSUNG Mobile Modem #2
- Ports (COM & LPT)
SAMSUNG Mobile Modem Diagnostic Serial Port (WDM)
- Universal Serial Bus-controllers
SAMSUNG USB Composite Device
Is it possible to solve this problem?
take out both sim card and sd card then try again
Thanks for helping me.
Unfortunately, I already tried with no success.

Stuck at <ID:0/012> SetupConnection..
So, I probably can't get into download mode.
Does a JIG can make my phone go into download mode?
can you enstablish an ADB connection?
try to do it when you are on many states (recovery, normal boot) even if you dont see anything the phone might actually go there

(Already) tried it a couple of times without success:
Try ClockWorkMod Recovery download here
Put zip file onto your SDcard. Do it through your PC.
Boot into download mode, then recovery, choose zip from SDcard, run CWMR
READ thread on link above, should help.

sorry dude but it seems like you bricked it
go to samsung service center.they will fix it for 20 euro...
Yeah, I also think it's bricked.
I hope it doesn't take very long to fix it. I'm already experiencing withdrawal symptoms .
Do you have any idea what I did wrong?
I created a swap partition on my SD card and installed the app you recommended. Did you also tried that app?

"Universal auto Install Root, Busybox, Enable BLN , Init.d support, Swap support and OC kernel upto 1.1Ghz" from squadzone was running fine on my phone for a couple of days.
All I can say is that in my case, my phone got bricked after adding a swap partition to my SD card with Parted Magic (GParted), installing Swapper 2 and applying some settings.
I don't want to say right now that installing Swapper 2 equals bricking your phone. It could have been a combination of factors that led to the brick of my phone. But I think you should be careful. My phone was running smooth anyway, so I don't know if it was necessary to add a swap partition. I just wanted to try it.

Learned my lesson .
Hate to say this too, but you where right .
Today, the phone didn't boot at all...
I went to a local Samsung Service Center (with the 20 euro's you mentioned in mind). They told me it had to be send to Samsung. It would probably cost more then the value of a new device (I mentioned it was rooted). After that, they advised me to bring it to the store where I bought it, so I did.
The store is going to send it to Samsung (which means I have to miss it for about three weeks). I hope it doesn't cost me much. They mentioned, I only have to pay if the cause is water damage or damage from falling.

Hi,
I have Samsung Galaxy S I9000 with Android 2.2 (FROYO) system upgraded from 2.1 version using oden.
Yesterday I tried to update this system because I have some problem in my phone (shutdown automatically...). I used the same method I used before to UPGRADE the system (oden write SBL above the port number colored in yellow).
Unfortunately, when the phone was in "download mode", oden has stop working on 30% approx. it says that the com port is not available (knowing that this port worked correctly when oden established the connection). So I removed the battery from my phone...... (I know it is a stupid idea).
Now the phone do not start-up and when I connect it to pc nothing happens.
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease help me what must I do??
Thank you guys
Can You Boot the phone into download mode manually ?
press volume down + home + power simultaneously
ps that wasn't stupid idea - it was the only solution to turn off broken flashing, but You must try boot it again to download mode and flash again but this time make sure that every file is properly placed in odin: file with MODEM as phone, CSC to CSC and third to PDA.
Oy.
As far as I know losing power to the phone or rebooting the pc while flashing the bootloader is one of the only ways to properly brick the sgs.
This sounds bad...very bad. If the bootloader had been erased but the new one hadn't been written before you pulled the battery, then I fear it is Goodnight Charlie. No bootloader, no phone.
If you can use the three button method to get to download mode as the post above me suggested, you will be alright.
If not....maybe a jig but I would doubt it.

Hi,
The button combination do not work
what did you mean by "jig". I am sure there is a solution
You seem expert so you can find a creative solution
try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551 or give it to nearest samsung service, just say it is broken doesn't start - do never ever say its broken because i flashed it
Long time ago i have bricked motorola, said its broken and wont start - what they did was main-board replacing of course free by warranty

i would strongly suggest you first try building the jig with resistors
if that doesn't get you into download mode, then you can take the phone to your provider.

How can I do this, I know that if the Samsung logo does not appear (like my case), then this method will not work. What do you think?

if you see this then it can be saved, if its just a black screen you are kind of screwed
Does the phone show any reaction? Does the acreen show anything? Any Sound? If it's just a black stone and doesnt react at all, send it to Samsung and as reason for the phone to be bricked, just say Kies f***ed it up while you tried to sync contacts or so. I did that one week ago and as you can see it's working again.
Well if it shows reaction try building your own jig as mentioned in the thread above or buy one from ebay to boot your phone into download mode.

ONLY black screen. The phone is out of warranty, will this cost a lot? they will fix it by hardware (change a part) or by software?
Try this:
1. Take everything out of the phone (sim, micro sd, battery)
2. Press volume up+home+power
3. Put the battery back in while still having the three buttons pressed.
4. Hopefully you are in download mode.

O my problem is i was trying to flash OVERCOME Icarus and following the guide on the overcome site i downloaded the stock v5 file unziped and started the included odin in download mode selected the files as instructed set repartition and pressed start. After couple minutes odin gave me a green PASS and rebooted my phone but it wont turn on soft keys are on but screen is of. If i press the power button the keys turn of. Conecting it to power outlet (original included charger) turn on soft keys after a few secs but no battery icon displayed.
After about 30 mins in this state i tried plugging it to my pc (windows 7x64Ultimate) and windows made the sound that it detected something but i cud not check what hardware it detected and odin did not detect device.
Is this a SOFT-Brick or a HARD-Brick and how can i correct my problem if possible
Edit: ok when i plugg it in windows Device manager shows SAMSUNG Android USB Modem, and SAMSUNG Android composite adb interface. Also if i start kies it tries to connect but after a while gives me a device not responding to resolve this issue reboot the device. Odin still does not detect it
Edit2: Ok tried going tru command prompt adb with adb devices command and it gives me a device conected in recovery mode i guess the is still hope still if some1 can help ill apreciate it

download mode
looks like the tab was booting but the screen wasnt turning on i replaced the kernel with one found in post #1 from this treadhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14728425#post14728425 and instalation continued still no screen the followed instructions from post#4 of same thread and got screen to turn on but stuck at galaxy tab boot screen, got fed up and im restoring my original rotobackup using heimdall 1.1 frontend the bar at heimdall shows 100% but no other success or failure message been like that for bout 10mins device screen show download bar but i dont see any advance btw im at the phone-yellow triangle-pc download screen
that is cool , simply you are a Worrier
did you unplugged or not yet ?
sooner or later you gonna do
still nothing
damm this tab used odin to flash my roto backup of original rom and nothing normal boot goes past galaxy tab screen into operator(telcel:mexico) animation and then gets stuck in samsung logo.
Recovery mode shows following errore:cant mount /dev/bñock/mmcblk0p2 (invalid Argument)
E:install_aplication_for_customer: cant mount DATA:
Good news looks like a software brik bad news=a really bad software brik any help will b thanked and apreciated
i think you need to flash your firmware " http://www.samfirmware.com/apps/auth/login?why=pw&try=1&wp=1&next=WEBPROTECT-p1000.htm" download it from this link ans flash it with PIT FILE
Finally
Ok Im a very happy tab owner now dont really know what worked but i tried the rom from samfirmware and the same so i retraced my steps got overcome in there again managed to get the sexy voice withoout screen went back to samfirmware at this point the error changet to cant mount dev sdcard or something like that so i went back to my own rotobackup and was back on last error.
I was almost thinking of sending it for repair when (and i dont know why i did) in the factory recovery menu i pressed home on the wipe cache option i got android with sign so i get desperate and press home dunno how many times and sudenly the cache was wiped i did the same on factory reset and after that my tab booted into my operator rotobackup(rooted ofc).
Guess I will stick to froyo for now and thanks for the help
Telcel
I'm anothere desesperated user that tried to update the Galaxy Table P1000L toandroid Gingerbread, but screen is not working anymore, I hate my self for trying doing this, What should I do? I wasn't able to download rotohammer tools as http : // files. deodexed. com/ModADroid-Galaxy-Tablet/Rotohammer/JME/ is not working anymore, help!!!! please!!!!
So... same problem here.... My tab p1000l bricked and then when i finally got the answear the battery got drained... so... if i understand it correctly if it was not a hard brick i can charge already if i plug it for at least 4 hours to charge?
I lost connection to the PC when reflashing back to Stock 2.3.5 and now the phone only displays a picture of a phone and a PC with a triangle warning sign between them. (wish I could post the pic).

Thanks!

Having a Jig is always a good idea. Remove battery, open Odin, connect phone in PC press Vol up and down, insert battery. If that doesn't work then get a jig.
If for whatevever reason after the Odin process you get the "Firmware Upgrade fail !, Try using recovery mode" screen,
don't worry. Treat that screen just like the regular download screen. Go ahead and pull the battery and
get back into download mode (that failure screen will come up), Odin should recognize your phone and then you can repeat
the Odin process. And it should Pass.
Thanks for reply. Tried everything to get Odin to recognize but no luck. Might need to see how fast I can get a jig...
If ur screen has the "Firmware upgrade fail etc., etc." then Odin will recognize ur phone. Close the Odin, then right click it and run as administrator, then connect ur phone to the computer (use a usb in the back of it if u r on a desktop or first port on a laptop--don't use a usb hub). Then if the com port on Odin turns yellow, u r good to go.

Looks like I hard bricked my cappy finally after a year and a half of flashing it...it is my fault, I thought my cable was securely plugged into my computer, but my cat decided to walk in between my phone and the computer, unplugging it during an Odin flash...Now all I get is a black screen and nothing. I reseated the battery, same deal....did the whole, remove battery, hold down vol up and vol down and plugged in usb and then placed battery in and still no love....I also tried the normal, remove battery, replace battery, hold down vol up and vol down and then plugging in usb...nothing...computer doesn't beep as to recognize a usb deivce has been plugged in and I even booted into my Linux box and it doesnt see it...I think I finally killed it...I do have a Jig on order though that is set to arrive tomorrow...I am hoping that puts me in download mode, if not it looks like I am buying a SG2. Anyone else have any ideas that I could throw a this thing other than what I already did? I mean I even tried different versions of Odin and Odin wont even recognize it.
If your phone shows no sign on life, you have only two options, one is JTAG and other in UnBrickableMod by Adam Outler.
First apply this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1206216
Second do this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242466
If you can not handle the hardware modification yourself, contact Adam, he can do it for you for a nominal cost.

The phone-pc-triangle is not a hard brick.
1. Use adam outler's one click unbrick. For this, i have to ask if your COMPUTER (not necessarily) even sees the device.
2. or it is jig time. If you cannot wait, and can access radio shack, make this simple jig http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=889128. There are lots like this.......I know, because this home made one worked just fine for me.
Remember, for some reason the second time around the exact same 'jig" - previously used - did not work, so it looks like a one time shot ??
good luck !

Ah, I used a Live CD to install my copy of Ubuntu, it looks like i didnt install that tool when I installed the OS. I am looking through the software installer within Ubuntu to see where I can find that.
Edit: I did finally get it to run, unfortunately the Unbrickable software says, Failed to find Device. So it looks like I need to ship this thing out for some mods.
Well, I got my Jig....My cappy is dead...The jig did not do anything, I knew it was a slight chance that it would work.

Flash it through Odin or Heimdall. Then reboot into the CWM Recovery. There is an option to obtain Root there.
Done.

Thanks for the info. If I follow this procedure, will all the factory installed software (Google Play, Messaging, Contacts, Music Play, Gallery, etc.) disappear?
Nope.
But once u r Rooted u can get rid of bloat that u don't want...through Titanium Backup Pro, etc.
Here is the link to the Corn Kernel thread...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18233847&postcount=1
Here is Odin if u need it... View attachment 1038976
Download and then open Odin, select the PDA slot, navigate to the .tar 7.0A Corn Kernel that u downloaded to ur pc and select it, connect usb end of ur cable to the pc, put ur phone in download mode, connect micro usb end to ur phone, after Odin recognizes it hit the Start.
Takes less than 10 seconds to flash the kernel.
Disconnect after the Pass, which indicates a successful flash. Remove the cable from ur phone. Reboot into the CWM Recovery. Go to "Reformatting, tweaks and more". Goto "Install Root / Extras". Then select "Install Superuser and Busybox (root)". Reboot.
Rooted and good to go.

Thanks again for the info. I finally got around to rooting my phone, and everything went perfectly. I used Corn Kernel 7.06.
There are instructions here (androidforums.com/captivate-all-things-root/493850-guide-rooting-adding-cwm-recovery-2-3-5-corn-kernel.html) which detail the same method as you recommended. They are very detailed, and include screen shots.
For future readers, you can use the utility in my signature to help you do the same thing.
thanks!
Thank you for putting this script together. I'm new to all this, and it helped me feel more confident trying this out. It all worked fine until the end, when the batch script was saying I should be selecting items from the recovery mode menu. My phone had rebooted into normal mode. I tried to run the script again, and the phone was not recognized, and then became locked into downloading mode. I though I had killed it. After trying many other things, I pushed the buttons to manually enter recovery mode and it turned off, after which I could turn the phone on again, at least. There's no superuser app, so I guess the root wasn't successful, but on startup the screen does say something about the corn kernel, so something was loaded. I'm not sure what to do at this point, except maybe just leave it alone since it seems to be working. If there's a final step that would complete the process, I'd be glad to know it.

To complete your root, go in recovery -> advance and root.
If you're uncertain if you're rooted, try to run a app like Titanium Backup, which requires root.
sort of the same problem..
SuperOneClick froze the first time I used it at step 7 for two hours I tried it again and it my Computer and my phone shut off
My phone rebooted(It did not root) But everytime I try to boot my laptop my startup repair program comes up and after about twenty minutes
it says "a program you recently installed is preventing your computer from starting" I cant find anyone else having this problem. I Havent installed any other program recently, so can someone help me out here? I downloaded it from shortfuse.

I assume your priority is to get your laptop working again. If you can get it to boot at all or boot into safe mode, I would probably do a "System Restore" on it. That may sound a little scary, but I have system restored various computers quite a few times without problems. A system restore should not be done lightly, but it sounds like your laptop is kind of trashed. A system restore does not take very long, and is fairly easy:
* Close all programs
* Click Start, then Control Panel, then System (see below)
* Click "Advanced System Settings"
* Click "System Protection"
* Click "System Restore"
* You may see a "Recommended Restore". You may see a list of restore points.
* Select the most recent restore point (that should be prior to your SuperOneClick install)
* You can click "Scan for affected Programs" if you want. SuperOneClick should be among those that will be deleted
* Click "Next" to restore the computer
* If you installed any other programs after the restore point, you will have to re-install them
* Your documents and data should not be affected
After starting the system restore, you may have to wait 5 or 10 minutes. Do not shut the computer off, or do anything else on the computer. Let it run. The computer will run, and re-boot. When it re-boots, Windows should have restored it to the same condition as before it got messed up.
Depending on how your computer is set up, the System launch Icon may not be directly on your control panel display. You might have to drill down to get it.
You can set up system restore points manually, and it is a good idea to do that before you install any program that you may have any doubts about. Some programs automatically set up a system restore point when you install them, but many do not.
Good luck, and let me know how you make out.

For some reason I'm not finding this anywhere else; so...I used odin and followed the steps exactly. I got everything done, had my phone in download mode and everything, but for some reason...Odin doesn't pass my flash???
I'm a massive noob, so I'm sure I sound stupid right now but trail and error is how one learns, however I've done this trial and error quite a few times now and nothings working for me.
I've tried SuperOneClick and it froze.
I have an LG Escape 4.0.4
Can you maybe tell me what I can do to root my device because I'm so lost it's just ridiculous.

I don't have any idea what I'm supposed to be doing here so I guess if you want to get technical, I suppose that was the case, yes.
I searched how to root my android device and this is what I was reading all over google so I just did what it said.
Apparently that was wrong, which is why I'm here.
Care to remedy my situation? You know more than I do and I'd appreciate the help.
Don't think there is a forum for the LG Escape but a quick search turned up this...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33752762&postcount=1. It is a start for ya. Now the rest u will have to do on ur own. I suggest a lot of reading and understanding before u do stuff and possibly make ur phone into a paperweight.
There is a lot of helpful info here on xda. Just take time to read and comprehend.

This trial and error method will lead sooner or later to permanent damage to your LG phone. Odin software and Corn kernel are for Samsung phones only.
Hey guys,
I own a SGS+ and tried to flash a ROM a few month ago.
Not sure which one it was in particular but it was a 4.1.2 ROM.
Normally it worked pretty well but that time it broke my phone apparently.
So now a few month later I tried to get it to work again.
My phone stucks at the splashscreen, easy said.
It boots till the splash screen and then it's on for about 3-4 minutes I guess and then the screen turns off.
But apparently it still runs because if I try to start it again over the power button it doesn't work.
I have to remove the battery, insert it again and then I can use the power button.
I tried several things and I'm out of information here.
So maybe one of you guys can help me out here?
Thanks for reading!
Try wiping cache an dalvik cache and fix permissions. If that doesn't help do a full wipe and install a new rom. If it still doesn't work, flash a stock rom via odin. Also, which recovery are you using?

Already did everything you mentioned, multiple times.
Well I used at first CWM 6.0.1.2 then switched to 6.0.2.8, then 6.0.3.2, then 6.0.3.6 and then TWRP 2.4.0.0 and TWRP 2.6.0.0.
I tried those who should be for the bricked phones.
Try to flash a new kernel, then flash a new ROM. You should be able to get into download mode...

..
That's not the problem.
I can get into download mode, I could get into download mode all the time.
I don't think you got my problem right:
My phone stucks at the splash screen.
Doesn't turn off only screen turns off but the phone is still running.
I can only reboot if I take the battery out.
So it boots up to the splashscreen and stucks.
I flashed a few new roms and nothing worked.
If you can get into download mode, try flahing a stock rom via odin.

1.Remove your battery.
2.Reinsert battery.
3.Put in download mode.
4.Flash stock rom.
5.Profit!

Download BroodRom(Not ics or jb just the old GB edition) it's a lifesaver.
1.Go to recovery.
2.Format EVERYTHING(data, cache, dalvik AND system.)
3.Download mode
4.Flash broodrom with Odin.
That should work!

Not really, still the same.
My phone still stucks in splashscreen.
Does nobody else know a solution?
I can flash normal, go to download mode easily and everything else too.
It just stucks in the splashscreen.
Follow my tutorial about how to flash back to stock. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44047896&postcount=2

Maybe you didn't flash appropriate ROM for your device. Read this thread, especially the first post by our forum mate xsensman and try to check if it could be concerning also your device:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1890667
Even through I know how to flash, I tried the two links from the guys above and tried them.
Again nothing happened either.
Flashing was okay, everything was fine.
Unfortunately the phone still stucks in splashscreen.
No one else knows what I could do?
verify serial No

Mate, something is strange there. With splashscreen you mean bootloop, right? So you see the logo, but the phone doesn't really loads the Android?
OK, here we go: please remove the battery and write down your serial No and google a bit is it really i9001? There are about 20 different types of SGS so just to make sure which model do you have.
That bootloop can happen for several reasons, but I would assume that in your case it happens either for:
bootloader isn't working properly
you haven't flashed the proper ROM for your device.
I suspect very strongly the bootloader, so re-flashing the bootloader via Odin, theoretically, should revive your phone. Just check (as written above) do you REALLY have i9001, (as otherwise -if not- you could brick it with the bootloader for i9001):
First post, "5. Follow the instruction" (all files there)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32144697
I'm 100% sure that I have a real i9001, not a special edition or something like that.
And I flashed before it got broken a few month and the roms worked just fine.
Well but then it broke somehow.
I just see that my phone with the CWM-Recovery can't format /data and hangs.
Can't do anything unless I remove the battery and boot up again.
Could this be a hint for you guys?

I have no idea what may that be, but are you sure your phone is bricked?
Have you tried to use normal TWRP 2.6 instead of that one for bricked phones?
I don't know, but maybe this helps:
Guide: How to Recover from a bootloop http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660596
@tetakpatak: Yes, I did it like the post "suggested".
@3L4CK_5C0RP10N: No, I'm actually not sure, that's why I wrote "bricked/broken".
I'm not the best guy at those things as you can guess.
No, I didn't tried the normal one, gonna try it now, atleast it's worth trying.
I read the post you linked me here and tried those things, unfortunately nothing happened.
Even tried it with ADB, also no solution found there.
But thanks already for the work guys!
suggest you try the following:-
1) power it down, remove battery, remove SIM card and Ext SD card and press and hold your power button for at least 30 seconds to a min, before reinserting battery and entering CWM recovery
2) In CWM recovery, enter Mounts and Storage and Format every partition, that can be formatted, repeat it twice ( You will lose all your data ) meaning you will be trying to get a clean environment for a fresh start. Do not reboot but pull out battery, press power for a few seconds and insert battery.
If you need your data, in mounts and storage, enter usb storage, here with usb connected to PC you can copy your entiere internal SDcard to PC, for salvage later.
3) get into Download mode, to flash the oldest i9000 Stock ROM 2.3.3 with AriesVe.ops using Odin 4.43 ( with ops ticked) How to flash follow this
download ROM from here
