is it possible to make this working on our device?

i think we can make something like this for our phone...
Wrong section for request my friend !
I think its besides the point if this could be ported...
The uses of it are:
1. Pentest networks.
2. Break into networks where you shouldn't be going.
1. Should be a planned event with permission, you could just bring your laptop along, or even a desktop, just for testing.
2. Aircracking a network would make your Ace's battery drop so much that you'd have none left for actually using the network, not to mention the fact its immoral.
As another post said, just use a laptop. Use debian or ubuntu.

Well I am currently running Froyo 2.2 rooted on my Captivate. I have no internet at home so I am reduced to tethering via usb. What is a cheap way to do this? I have tried renameing/deleteing the tetheringmanager but didnt work.
Even links to forums that could help me would be appreciated, and I wont mind using a rom or something else as long as its free lol
Thanks for the help

Flash a rom. They all have it enabled by going around at&t

Any good ones that you have tried?

Loaded question
I have flashed nearly everyone available. They are all good in their own right. Telling you one is best or better is mostly opinion. Depends on what you are looking for especially in appearance. The one I would avoid for a first timer is cm7, which is what I am running but is not as easy to flash.
Look at captivate development. Take a look at the Roms available.

Thanks for the info! And what I am mostly looking for is usability and tethering lol it could look beautiful but if it lags, cant support flash 10.1, and you can't barely do anything with it besides call and text then it ain't for me lol

Abd another reason I ask cause since I don't have internet..i brick I screwed..
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897
You are right and I would not flash without internet.
Maybe someone can provide a safer option

That is what I am thinking..
Plus I have yet to try flashing because of having no internet.
If I could find possibly someone that knows how to change APK files and change the file tetheringmanager114.apk and just install it so it allows it to use the mobile AP and usb tethering no problem but I have yet to find it or a forum with an idea how to.

The Klink app works great with the HTC one for tethering without root.
It does require you to set it up on the computer you're tethering with, and the phone.
Long time lurker and I haven't hit the post requirement for link posting, just search Klink in the play store.
I'm not sure if this is common knowledge, if so please let the post sink and disregard it.
I just purchased based on your opinion..it's Pretty good ..thanks

It appears you can usb tether with sense too, just need to install HTC sync manager and enable usb sync in the phone settings.
I didn't bother installing HTC sync manager, so couldn't confirm yet. But information seems that it'll work.

I am glad USB tethering works. I have been using EasyTether on my Moto Photon for about 1.5 years without a single problem. very stable.
It's my first time hearing of Klink.... is it stable?

Does klink tether on tablet?

I'm trying to bypass at&t block on tethering apps in order to use my plan with my tablet as well. I rooted my phone, but every app i downloaded appears to be blocked from accessing my phone connection by at&t (they charge separately for that "honor").
Any suggestion?
Thanks
Ivan

If you want to use stock ROM, there's a WiFi tether fix in the AT&T Development forum.

Both posts found in the AT&T One Development forum. Both on first page and one thread apart. Seems to me like you didn't really bother looking or using the search function. Took me less than two minutes to find the threads and post this reply.
Most others will tell you to search on your own, so you might want to get familiar with using the forum and it's capabilities.

I find it intriguing on why would you post on the development section instead of the general as a question? There is a setting called Wi-Fi tethering in the settings, don't use any app.
i know its out of order but I've broken my right arm and hand.
dont have my laptop and did nit realise it was in the wrong thread.
cant even type.....

There is the Tethering & Mobile Hotspot under settigs and it works. If you cannot enable it, the reason is false insettings under APN. Check it and add supl and dun to APN type if you doesn't have them already.
Hey guys I've been familiar with backtrack (now Kali) for some time and was really curious if some kind soul on xda could help me figure out (a)why bcmon is failing to enable monitor mode and (b)what I can do to correct the problem and get it running. I'm pretty sure our phones are equipped with the bcm4330 chipset required -if I'm wrong please tell me- but something at the driver level is hanging up the process I think.. I'd love to see this work.. Anyone with any ideas or possibly info on how to compile a custom WiFi driver package for our phone to add support I'd love to hear what you have to say. And before anyone says anything about trying to steal someone's WiFi please understand this is purely for fun I have and pay for my own internet lol..
