problems viewing my profile and msgs - Off-topic

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and I followed the rules by searching to see if there was another thread like this but to my dismay i didn't find one. So here is my problem. I log in to XDA, I have 2 unread msgs and everytime I click on them to view it it makes me sign in again; so I do that and then it won't let me sign in.
It's pretty strange considering the fact that I sent msgs already and now it won't let me sign in to view my msgs but yet here I am signed in doing this thread.
Has anyone else had this problem before or having this problem?
I hope this works.... It wont even let me reply or post a comment so maybe this is the only way to get my msg across... 85gallon, I cleared the entire history got rid of cache, cookies, form data, EVERYTHING and same **** is still happening. this is ****ing weird because I was posting comments monday and now it doesnt work...

Have you cleared your cookies and temporary internet files?

Is this finally working?!?!
ok so it is... you know how long ive been trying to post something or check my msgs? now randomly it works... this is messed up!

Just hit wait, it might take 3-4 or more times but it will eventually delete them. Just need a bit of patience.

This issue has been either fixed with Cupcake (1.5) or just with the JF build which I doubt its just one build.
I was able to delete an 700+ thread without a problem but then got curious so I racked up 1,030 then deleted it and I was amazed and even though its not that big of a deal when i hit delete thread it delayed for about 3 sec then deleted.

I think my phone is bugged, any help?

Yes this is the development thread, and all I really have is a problem, but I think it's something only solvable by you devs.
My phones sms has been completely Effing up lately.
I will get the notification up in the bar, and I can pull that down and read into the message, but if I open Handcent or the default app the text won't show up and will not be there.
So reasonably I stopped using Handcent, and Message widget and all sorts or things like that, wiped my phone, cleared the partition, flashed a new rom. Different firmwares [1.6 and the new open eclair]
But nothing really seems to help or work, apparenlty mms has been failing a lot which I know is more so on Tmobile's end then it is my phone but idk whats up, tonight I get this new Android notification
"com.android.mms a large number of sms messages are being send. select "ok" to continue of "cancel" to stop sending"
whenever I hit send, I haven't yet rebooted to see if it persists but it's a pain.
Is there any device log or collection I can submit so someone can look into it, possibly a bug? Virus? Somethin' stupid like that?
Thanks.
p.s. and my inbox isn't full or anything ridiculous like 1000+ messages, I've got about less than 50 currently, and when I said stopped using Handcent and MessageWidget, I mean uninstalled.
This happened to me on rare occasions while I was using Handcent. But it doesn't happen when I use the default messaging app. So I assumed it was due to handcent. Not quite sure why you're getting the other problems though... =/
This happened to me as well when I changed to a 2.1 rom. I chose to go back to Dwangs 1.6 rom until the 2.1 roms have been completely stable.
Hey try using ChompSMS. I think its better than Handcent SMS

That doesn't sound good at all.
Have you checked with t-mobile to see if you are sending a stupid amount of text messages? It could be someone is sending spam messages via your phone or something. It could explain why you are unable to receive messages.
I think you are from the government, trying to find out whom on here knows how to subvert there android espionage. I for one will state to you officer, that I know nothing about this, and am stupid to the whole concept of bugs.
PS Do not try to trace my post, as both me and my computer are wearing tinfoil hats (with the shiny side out).
In all reality, one trick I learned as a teenager to check if your phone may be bugged, is to find an old business that still uses a switchboard phone system (this was hard in the early 90's, and may be impossible now) and phone them. If your phone was bugged, then they would see two lines coming in as one and become quite confused.
Whoa guys, by "bugged" I meant viruses not I'm being spied on haha.
It's occured on the 2.1 build Open Eclair
and a Cyan 1.6 build.
With and without using alternative applications for messaging.
I got sick and tired of it so I decided to go back to my most solid rom I've ever used.
A Soul Life 1.5 build, and I haven't had any troubles yet.
When I preformed the nandroid backup however it still tried to act like my sd card was partitioned and the market was buggy for a few but the cache is cleared up and it's all good now.

[Q] Issues with G1 add account. please help.

So I installed the CyanogenMod-6 on my G1, and when I start the phone, it doesnt give me the "first time start-up" walkthrough, nor can i manually add an account in settings. it gives me a weird "add server info" page i've never seen before.
This also happened with Super-E, so I know it's not the ROM. I can't imagine what I could have done to the phone to make it glitch out like this.
It runs, I just cant add an account, or see certain button presses light up.
I searched through the forums but came across nothing. anyone got an idea?
thanks in advance.
I deeply apologize. it's late at night and I had never experienced the add account in the form of the exchange setup method.
I got it all figured out and it is running well. Once again, I apologize. Thread may be deleted.

Messaging screwing up?

Hey everyone, first of all I'd like to say that this website is plain great for finding things for my phone.
Secondly, I have a problem with my phone's text messaging.
Just recently while chatting to my friend, she was receiving weird messages from me which consisted of parts of a previous message I sent from days ago mixed with parts of the actual message I typed in.
For Example (The following are not the actual messages from the incident.)
Me: ABCDEFGHIKJLMNOP
Friend: Meeting tomorrow at 2:30.
Me: Okay I will be GHIKJLMNOP
Friend: Huh?
Me: What?
I know, sounds insane right?
The only changes I have made to my phone are, rooting with SuperOneClick, installing latest Neoblazer kernel (great kernel btw), and overclocked to 1.4Ghz.
I don't see how any of these changes could have done that. But do you guys have any idea about what's going on?
Cheers.
I don't think this is a kernel related problem... Anyway try to fix permissions (ROM Manager) and see if it's happening again
Thanks for your suggestion. I will try ASAP.
Hi again. I tried what you said, it has been 3-4 weeks and I am still getting this problem. Do you have any other suggestions? Or should I just get over it?
Try a third party messaging app, like handcent SMS, maybe that'll work...

WhatsApp& Hangouts Notification problem...

Dear xda users,
I have quiet some time a problem getting notification message in whatsapp and hangouts (even in the previously version on Google talk).
When i clear all apps with Task Manager. Exit to home screen. meaning, Whatsapp is not running in the background, I get no pushed messages, no notifications. Nothing at all.
I then launch the app and get all my "missed" message ,then exit back to the home screen and now I see the messages and notifications.
The same thing happen when the screen is off, actually it seem it start there.
I have no limitation on the background apps, surf only with 3g and it is happen also with hangouts,it is started a few months back before google update her app,in the old Google talk also.
The most strange thing is when i launch a game, because it uses the internet when i exit from it and not clear my task manger it seems like whatsapp and hangout getting the message for day or two and there again nothing, maybe i imagine i really do not know
My phone model is i9305 with official Samsung Nordic Rom.
i used avast anti virus until couple days ago.
By the way whatsapp+ that i saw here recently could help me in any way?
I really appreciate your help. :good:
want to clear it one and for all to enjoy my phone.
Thanks in advance,
David
Hi David,
you kinda answered yourself, the problem is with the task manager. I suggest reading the following:
http://www.howtogeek.com/127388/htg-explains-why-you-shouldnt-use-a-task-killer-on-android/
Chris Hoffman can explain better than me
BTW it's also says directly on whatsapp that it will not work well with task managers.
Cheers
Dear eytan123,
Thank you for your replay,I want to clarify myself and tell you that i do not use any external task manger, but only the built in one in jellybean.
In addition even when i do not "clear" my ram it still no working,i also compare it to others galaxy 3-i9300&i9305 that use and clear the ram with the built in task manager and still not suffer from this Phenomenon.
I guess Samsung keeps this app because it lets inexperienced users(unlike you and myself, or for that matter anyone in XDA ) the feeling that they can upgrade their performance...anyhow - It's strongly suggested that you don't activate\use ANY task killer.
Why not trying the suggested method for a couple of days? I'm sure your results will be much better
Thanks again for trying to help, but i already try this couple of times before open this thread.
Unfortunately not a single method that i tried was useful to me.
like to hear if you have another idea
upp
bumping a thread more than once every 24 hours is against the rules. don't post until you read them
Just noticed you asked about the whatsapp+ - it's not supposed to make things any better, only customizations. And you said the problem persists at the new hangouts.
If you're certain that your internet connection(cellular of course) is working good, before I suggest wiping and re-flashing or trying another rom I suggestthat you use the following app(it increases battery usage in a VERY MINOR way):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5hbmRxbGltYXgucHVzaGZpeGVyIl0.
Try clear data
Make sure sync is on

Hi,
Thanks eytan123 but this app that you gave me it is just for rooted phones,i do not want to root my phone in this moment, about the rom,it is the same problem that i experienced in my previous official rom.
Still glad to hear about this app for future notice
Thanks hello5629,if you mean to clear app data i already try this also
You wanna tell me that only my phone suffer this problem?
Just making sure - have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the apps ?
yep,several times..
Well I guess that leaves you with factory reset your phone.
But since your'e not rooted keep in mind you'll lose all your apps..
ya i know,i do not really want to do it,i think i will open a thread in general android forum, maybe there when it is not only i9305 community, maybe some will have the answer.
Thanks again for your effort
