ok, that's the 3rd release date i've heard so far and second name change. i've got ATT reps in the building I work (CSRs in a call center) They couldn't confirm anything for me (and I asked 5 of them, and not noob csr either, people with over 1yr exper). So it looks like it'll be released this month but I'm not gonna hold my breath anymore for a certain day or features (ie front video camera). Where are you getting this info?

How can anyone guarantee anything. I have found opinions are like asswholes...everyones got one
I have a good friend that works at a very large att store and him and his manager cannot get any definitive info so I would venture to say that these dates are just wishful thinking.

It's been confirmed on other sites the name will be AT&T 8925. "Tilt" was a nickname unless you have new super uber info.
People comming here with an old info and old dates lets see what happens over the weekend.
It has already been confirmed that the AT&T warehouse will be receiving phones on Sept 3rd.
As far as when your local retailer will get the phones is a completely different story.

Sorry about the upstir. This is what happen, I went in the At&t store and ask them when will the Kaiser be available. Nobody knew what the kaiser was. The customer rep. said we have a new phone coming out in Sept. called the Tilt. He show me a photo of the pocket pc, and there it was the HTC Kaiser. It looked just like the kaiser. He said the the phone keyboard slides out and then you can tilt it upwards, hence the name " TILT". He said it will be on sale around Sept. 12. He didn't give me a price. But what i'm going to do is go back and talk to him/them again to get a price, and I want him to tell me again the release date for this phone. I will report back tonight with a answer. If everything he tells me is true, i'll even post the store number and ya'll can talk to him. I have no reason to lie. Why make up some **** like this, we are all waiting for this phone.
O.K , I just got back from the AT&T store located at 1880 Okeechobee Blvd. West Palm Beach Florida. The telephone numbers to the retail sales rep. is 561-687-8600 and 561-573-3542. His email address is [email protected] and His name is Joshua St. Louis but his name tag said " Jean". Now this time he called his manager to assist me with the question I had asked above. The manager confirmed that the new pocket pc will be called the " AT&T Tilt " but the release date will be on Sept. 24. Now this is strange because now I have four to five release dates. Sept. 3, but this is Labor Day Holiday in the U.S and I don't think the stores will be open on Sept. 3-4. The other dates are Sept. 13, Sept. 14, Sept. 18, which came from the retail sales consultants, and Sept. 24 which came from the manager at the AT&T store. So I told you I didn't lie about ****. Go call yourself because I was just passing on info that came from the AT&T source. If I could fly to taiwan, I would ask the owner of HTC himself/herself , but I can't. I'm just going to have to wait for the damn phone like everybody else. So don't come down on me people.
Sept 3 is Labor Day
Everyone is quoting Sept. 3rd as the release date, but I'm pretty sure AT&T stores aren't even open that day.......
I am not sure how much clearer I can make it... let me try again.
The AT&T Warehouse is Fort worth Texas or whatever will receive the phone from HTC on Sept 3rd. Not the retail stores, not the Corporate stores, not that guy with the cell phone cart in the mall, JUST the AT&T warehouse.
They will be receiving around 3,000 phones. You MIGHT see the website update to list the phone on Sept 3rd/4th. However, the device will not be widely available until mid-late September.
You are correct sir

Thanks for the info. It looks like, based on several other member's experiences with ATT stores, that they aren't really informed on wtf is going on with the phone until it pops up in their delivery truck with the marketing material. Some ATT Reps are calling it the 8925 and others are calling it the "tilt". I wouldn't trust anything an average in store ATT sales person is saying right now until the phone is released. That's good information though..
What amazes me is that these guys working in the phone store usually could give a flying rats ass about their upcomming products. In sales if I worked for ATT I would be all over that. That's what happens when you take kids out of high school and have them selling phones they know little about.
"The iPhone is the best phone we sell. it does everything!"
"usually" ... the 1st batch are "non-branded/unlocked" anyway ( usually )
So ... why does it matter what it is called ??
I'll called it --- >>> MINE !!! thank you very much !!
i just checked with my local AT&T store 2 days ago and the manager said that its still on for the 3rd of sept. and that the pricing will be $499 as an upgrade or 1 year contract, $399 as a new 2 yr contract, plus a $50 mail in rebate that brings it down to $349 and for some reason i seem to be eligible for another $50 off and a waived upgrade fee.
hope that helps
::EDIT:: it was a corp. store and they had both the pricing info and the rebate forms already... ohh and it WILL be the TILT

I just hope the 19.99 MediaMax will work with the Tilt
the best bet is to call at&t on monday and see what they say.

And if you don't know something to be true, then don't post it!
In the amount of time it takes to type "I'm pretty sure AT&T Stores aren't even open on Labor Day" you could actually call one and find out that they are!!!
Everyone have a great weekend and we'll see what happens on Monday.

If $399 for a 2yr contract is true that that is definitely a very good price!
The phone was released on 26 Sep afternoon.
Just ordered mine. Delivery on Fri. There were 15 left when I placed the call, none 5 minutes later.
Spoke to the cancellations department, or whatever is called.
Yep, 6 left when i called, delivery tommorrow...
Ooo, maybe that means I'll actually get mine today rather than another Compact III. I await in anticipation!
no mention
there is no mention of this on the tmobile website,
i will happily give my hermes300 away when i get this
Cheers for the heads up, mine will be here before 1pm tommorow
Just spoken to T-mobile uk to get an upgrade and they wouldn't even give me a price as "it's not out until October"
How have people managed to find someone who says different?
same here - thanks for the heads up Dan!
Read this thread last night at about midnight and thought I might have missed the boat, but phoned up new connections this morning at around 9am and ordered mine (think they said they had about 45 or so in stock at the time).
PAC code activated and delivery before 1pm tomorrow... woo hoo!
Goodbye Orange and thanks for all the erm.... (oh yeah... not a lot!!! )
I'm tempted to upgrade to this (even though i've bought a standalone Kaiser in the meantime) then just flog it on e-bay
Called a couple times this morning said they were out of stock until October !
Called back the guy said he just had an email and they got more stock so Ive ordered mine, coming before 1pm tomorrow.
What prices did you guys pay? I paid £80 on a 18 month with free eves & weekends, I was promised £60 on a 12 month contract but wanted the order to hurry and go through so ill call back and argue that...lol
Also what tarifs and deals did you get?
wow that sounds really cheap :O
I wonder how much the upgrade price will be....

LOL you won't be saying that once you try the service
I'm considering changing to T-Mobile myself for the cheaper calls and unlimited data but to be honest I've had several business phones with them and my girlfriend and sister in law are with them and the signal often disappears in places you'd never expect it.
If you're always close to town then it probably isn't a problem but I don't think their coverage is anything like they advertise

I can vouch for that! It does depend on the phone to a certain extent, but their coverage is far from the best. Luckily it's good enough around where I live and work to not cause an issue, but there are places close-by that have horrible reception.
I'm with T-Mobile for their tariffs, not their coverage!
My T-Mobile MDA Vario III should be here tomorrow as well.
Im on Flext 20, and paid £30 to upgrade.
Why? They owed me one. Or 250!
Hmmm I wonder how much they'll go for on e-bay etc....

Heh...
If Orange spent as much time and effort in providing a decent (and courteous) level of customer care as they do on thinking up silly animal names for talk plans then I might still be with them (it's a long story... ).
Thankfully, I live and spend most of my time in one of the bigger cities here in the UK so I can't imagine there being too many problems with getting/holding a signal (well no more than I experienced with Orange in certain areas).
Besides I have 14 days to play with it and if it really sucks that bad they can have it back
I've been waiting for these to arrive on T-Mobile so I can move across from O2. Went into the local T-Mobile shop today and they said not in yet, but have taken my phone number and will call me when they get them.
In the meantime, I went across the road to the O2 shop, to just check what they can offer me (clearly not a Kaiser, as they don't so them... yet). They guy in the shop said, "yes T-mobile have had better data plans for a long time, but I would highly recommend waiting until Monday, as we are announcing some new plans that include unlimited data, and they will put T-mobile to shame... and I've been waiting for a LONG time to say that... and thought it might never happen! We also have new phones being released, but I can't say anything more."
Not sure what he means, but I will now wait for Monday and hope he isn't just pulling my leg and spouting marketing speak, but he seemed genuinely excited by it all!
I don't think they will have the kaiser, so I will probably still go with T-Mobile, but I do like O2 all the same! And being with them for 9 years should mean I get a good discount on any tariff I pick with them. But any ideas how I could get the Kaiser onto O2 at a reasonable price.
Should I get a "no-phone tariff" and buy it unlocked? Or should I get the most expensive (and re-saleable) phone I can from them, and flog it on Ebay to fund my unlocked Kaiser. Or should I dump O2 and move to T-mobile and be done with it?
The comments here about poor network coverage on T-Mobile worry me, and the O2 guy said the same (albeit, he would wouldn't he!), and boasted about the strength of the O2 network. I certainly seem to get signal everywhere with O2! (except inside my house! but T-Mobile are no better in my house either!)
Decisions, Decisions....

Do they put T-Mobile to shame?. I think not.
Note 200MB fair use policy! LOL!
O2 launches unlimited data packages
12:56AM Thu 27 September 2007
O2 will launch unlimited data downloads on 1 October for its prepay and contract customers for £7.50 a month.
The package is for users wanting to browse the internet and send emails and comes with a fair usage policy that offers around 200MB a month, which is equivalent to around 1,400 web pages.
The service is the same price as T-Mobile's Web'n'Walk package, which gives users 1GB of usage a month.
The network will also launch O2 Web Max for customers who want to connect their handset to a PC or use a data card. This costs £30 a month and comes with 3GB of usage a month.
Business customers have also been targeted by O2 with a service called Unlimited BlackBerry. This gives users unlimited access to the internet on BlackBerry with a fair usage policy of 200MB at £10 a month. It is aimed at customers who want to browse the web while their email is pushed to their handset via the BlackBerry service.

congratulations to all of you in europe! hopefully the AT&T version will hit the uS soon.
When the TMobile Sale/Swap goes thru with Vodafone or O2 or whoever (as if I care!) - will that give me an opportunity to cancel my contract with TMobile? I have been with them since July 2008 and expiring on Aug 2009. The service is really good when I am in and about - but really crap at my residence. May dropped calls and SMS’s - Only reason I never gave up earlier was I got a great deal wth them for Touch HD. If I do get a chance to cancel - will I need to return the phone ?
Would'nt mind getting my hands on Hero or something new !!!
Anyone knows?
I have heard from 2 diffent sources that T-Mobile will release the G2X on April 6th. Has anyone else heard this?

I really wonder how much they will charge US off contract. I am currently on contract with them and i will be upgrading as soon as the phone comes out and would like to know just how much i will have to put out upfront.

Im with you on that.. Im hoping that with the OPTIMUS 3D coming out real soon it will help the 2X stay at a reasonable price.. I bought the HD2 off contract for $449.. I wouldnt spend more than that for this phone..
I believe this phone off contract will probably be around $500.
The way i look at it, i will just renew my contract with tmobile and NOT pay the full price and hopefully if AT&T buys them then i can cancel my contract and hopefully NOT pay and penalty
where did u hear apr 6?
If it is April 6th, great. If not, I may wait for the HTC Pyramid or the SGS2.

My boss was having problems with one if his phones. The CSR offered him an upgrade and said wait until the 6th. She said there are 3 phone going to be released that day and the g2x is one of them. I read there is a nokia to be released that day, maybe the other is the sidekick?
The second source was someone else who also was told by a CSR rep.
I doubt we see this phone on 4/6. If we do then somebody in T Mobile USA marketing dropped the ball.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App
The Nokia Astound was announced for April 6th. The CSR is confused about the g2x. No way it would come out in a week when there has been no advertising, nor a price.

She did say 3 phones were going to be released on the same day.
Astound, Sidekick and G2X? Would they even release 2 high end phones on the same day?
April 6 would be great..Sidekick and G2x would make a big sales date!
hey guys i heard april 20th from pocketnow.com
Isnt april 6 next week already? And still no major ads and advertisements and price? So i doubt it. But i wish t-mo would release it early.
that CSR is wrong as of right now the G2X is set for April 20th check out Tmonews. On April 20th 3 things are set to come out as of right now. The Sidekick 4G, G2X, and the G-Slate. I am a RSA and T-Mobile would of let the stores known if it was April 6th. We already have the new Nokia phone at my store for April 6th. So that CSR must of been thinking about the 20th when he was telling you what he told u.
I heard the phones were shown off by lg reps in the store, is this true?

I would not bank on that with this device, as it will work on AT&T - no out here.
Other devices, like MT4G will no work on #G/Hspa+ if they drop TMo bands - that would be a contract out.
I heard it'll be from $450-500
If there is somewhere cheaper and faster, that would be appreciated also.
I was wondering if anyone who ordered their Note from handtec can tell me exactly how long it took for the device to arrive. I want to try and get this for a christmas present, but would hope for it to arrive in time. I live in Northern Utah, if that would help you with figuring out how long it should be. Thanks!
$699 on Newegg
Or if you're OK with buying from overseas on eBay, I just snagged one with free overnight shipping for $669 USD, but YMMV due to whoever has stock ATM.
Thanks for the info. I may just go the eBay route, ill have to do some searching around. Maybe it would be worth waiting a little longer to see if a non-European version can be enabled to support Tmobiles bands. Either way, I must have this phone!

Roger that but everything I've read thus far indicates both the HSPA+ and the LTE versions are missing the T-Mobile 1700 MHz radio. Latest version going through FCC is still the HSPA+ version modified with capacitive buttons, so you may be in for a loooong wait fr T-Mo. Good luck!

In that case, I am prepared to switch over to At&T, although I don't want to...
I ordered mine on Nov 29th. It got shipped on Nov 30th. It would have been delivered on Dec 1st, had it not get delayed by Customs. I ordered several accessories along with the phone, so Customs wanted an itemized breakdown. Once they got that, they wanted an FCC form. Plus the weekend. In the end I got it on Dec 6th.
Handtec could have done better and included those required papers but other than that, Handtec's Customer service was very good. They are very responsive. They even credited my credit card for 20 pounds, because the price of the Note dropped after I ordered it but before I received it.
I would not hesitate to buy from them again but maybe just mention it to them they need to include the required papers to avoid Customs delay.
