Hello,
I tried searching for my problem in the forums but I didn't find my exact setup and don't want to brick my phone. (Well maybe it already is)
I had Cyanogenmod 7 for quite a while and tried the Nightlies for 9 some months ago. In the early days of my phone I used ODIN to flash the newest Stock firmwares and then used the chroot kernel to root my phone and install cwm. Since then I installed Cyanogenmod 7 and later Cyanogenmod 9 Nightlies with cwm recover and there was never a problem.
Today I tried the ROM from DerTeufel1980 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28819140
I flashed the rom, the addons, the superuser and google now fix. Then I flashed the kernel Devil3_1.0.0-Rc5_datadata_i9000_CFS_BLN_CMC_20120719.zip and fixed permissions. After that my phone wouldn't boot. The boot animation was the old standard android logo.
I managed to get into Devil Kernel Recovery and thought to try a reflash of just the ROM but when I try to "choose a zip" it always tells me
E:can't mount /sdcard/
After that I flashed the kernel with odin and now the phone seems to boot but veeeery slow and it has a ton of flickering the whole time. The bootanimation is the cyanogenmod 9 boot animation. I got into Devil Recovery and I still can't mount the sdcard. And it seems that it doesn't detect my sim card.
I hope you can help me.
Edit: Actually after rebooting several times the boot sped up and I could get into the ROM. I still can't mount the internal sdcard though and I have no phone functionality. It seems that my IMEI number is gone.
Hey
Downgrade your sgs to 2.3.6 valuepack using odin3...
Then root it and use it for a day atleast..
Then flash CM9 nightly..use that for a day too..
Then flash JB...not the same one u did earlier..
Instead Goto teamjellybean.noez.in (ad www.)
Find d latest version of jb and follow the instruction there..
Cheers

Thanks that's exactly what I have done and it worked.
I've seen a lot of folks saying that they might have bricked their phones when some issue occured while flashing a new rom.
Personally whenever I face issues, I just goto the Download mode and Flash a GB rom and then move my way up (GB --> ICS --> JB).
As long as you can go into Download mode, shouldnt be a problem
Fwiw, I lost my IMEI for the first time trying out the JBs. Not sure if it was Slim or DerTeufel's. I ended up with the kind that allows you to connect to your mobile provider, a fake but working IMEI. But when I saw that I tried to go to GB and it didn't come back automagically. And the IMEI was totally wiped so I couldn't even register on the network. Ended up getting to ICS and only then did Root Browser let me write to the efs folder.
Lesson, in short: make a backup zip of your efs folder (to preserve permissions) and double back it up using Nitrality from the Play store.
Glad you got yours back, too.

OK, so I'm *definitely* a crappy speed-reader, because I missed this part about waiting on each version. What does the waiting do? I'm now wondering if that means I need to use the phone and, with the restored /efs folder, sometimes later /dev/block/stl3 will repopulate itself with the proper info.
Hey
I asked to wait on roms coz it can just make a few things working...like data..if it doesnt work on 1 rom it would not (probably) work on the next update..(personal experience)..
Cheers
If my post helped, don't mind hitting the Thanks button..

Hi there!
Recently I've been trying to upgrade my SGS with a custom ROM, Darky's 4.0. After installing the ROM as instructed (using CWM and copying the ROM to the internal SD card), the ROM Installs, after the 1st boot it keeps looping, see video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWrijyv-8PM (not edited, sorry for that)
Original SGS:
GT-I9000T
I9000TUBJG7
Product code: GT-I9000HKTPCW
kernel: 2.6.28
Build: eclair.ubjg5
The first upgrade I made was via Kies reg-hack to: GT-I9000HKDXEU, 'I9000XXJF3/I9000OXAJF3/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3, and it installed Stock Froyo update. The SGS worked fine with exception of the radio, which didn't lock my 3G over the 850 band.
Currently:
9000M running STOCK Australian I9000UGJG8 (due to radio issues, besides the Canadian ROM, this is pretty much the only ROM which modem.bin's works properly with my network, 3G 850MHz).
FW:2.1-update1
Kernel 2.3.29 [email protected] #2
Eclair.UGJG8
I tried with the following STOCK ROMs prior to the custom ROM install: I9000XWJM1, I9000XWJG5, I9000XWJM9 and I9000UGJH2.
I have ALLWAYS made an SD unmount and format, formatted the cache and factory reset. After it loops, the only way to get it back is using downloader mode and installing a STOCK ROM via ODIN (always do a .512 pit repartition)
Any suggestions to make this SGS get the ROM? maybe the kernel is bad?
Cheers!
Have u tried to format everything (exept for sd) and flash again?
Btw i love infected
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
Format everything? Using which app or program?
I've always used the recovery's wipe commands and the *2767*3855# command. Is that enough? or am I missing another cooler and invasive method ? A friend has suggested to use davlik.
Yeah! Infected rulz, that's what I listen when I'm in the bricking-mood lol
As i saw you have cwm installed... Boot in recovery and select mount and storrage and then select eveeything that contains format (boot wont work to format) and dont select format internal sd but DO select format sd-ext
Edit: if it doesnt work write again then ill upload u the kernel that fixed it for me yesterday. Its from this forum but since ive discovered it by coinsidence, i cant remember how its called. U can format everything then select mout usb storrage (in cwm) and push it on the root of sd. Its an update.zip

I gave that a shot, still no cigar. I guess that it goes deeper than just a formatting... maybe that secret kernel u have might brick me... erhm! I mean help me
Shoot! and I'll try it.... this OEM sucky ROM aint working that good over the Australian ROM lol. now I lost access to my cam ! sucks.
Thanx!
Try any universal lagfix kernel with clockwork enabled. Since ur phone is still flashable and ur phone still has funktionality (cwm works) im pretty hopefull that it is software/sd format related. Thats one of those cases where servic centre sais a full flash is needed by now only they are able to do that:-( but till now i always found a way to work around that by trying everything in every way. I always thought my phone is bricked anyhow so it can just get better and by coincidence it worked all of a sudden

Ihave I900T with same rom image
and am trying to upgrade to FROYO as well. Any advice on how to do so would be appreciated. Tried the various registry hacks and none have worked. I'm happy to use Odin but not sure which is the correct ROM image to use (from samfirmware). Thanks!

Well, first thing is first. I've been a couple of weeks away from my SGS tweaking. I'm right know figuring a way to make a backup of my ROM (non-nandroid), in which I can extract the Kernel, Modem and CSC (I received a brand-new unit from my provider, so I will take advantage of it )
That way I can flash them back in case of a screw-up. I didn't have that much luck with modems offered in other ROMs, so I need to keep an OEM copy of my stuff.
Also make a good copy of your /efs folder in case you mess it up. It took me around 3 weeks of reading before I started making any changes to my phone, so I'll recommend doing the same; there's no "quick-start" or quickguide on how to start. You will en up with 6 different windows open reading from everywhere
The FWs from samfw are OEMs. Theres like "not much" of improvemente if you switch to those. Take special attention to the one you chose cause most likely you will lose your 3G and/or 850MHz band. I recommend using only Australian and Canadian ROMs(I9000UGJG8 and I9000UGJH2 worked for me, you might try also I9000UGJK3). Regarding custom ROMs, you will need to try and try until you get it right as our SGS model is not the most popular. This means endless flashing
Cheers.
Sgs froyo flash nam bands
Thanks for the advice. This project consumed my thanksgiving but I finally got a good working SGS in the ATT network. I bought an unlocked SGS from Negri Electronics with the USA 3G bands but it came without FROYO and didn't have the 3 button restore available. After reading and reading (your note about multiple open windows at the same time is all too true!) and trying and trying, I was finally able to get to download mode by installing all the Android SDK tools onto my PC then going in by way of ADB. Far more complicated than a simple registry hack and ODIN but it worked.
I installed the DOC BUJP8 v9 ROM with all the enhancements and AOSP Email (I tried and tried to get stock FROYO email to work with 2 exchange accounts but it was impossibly slow and didn't work) while AOSP is working fine.
It seems, because my SGS had the 850 bands to begin with, that it's working fine. I found this other post on XDA (#770041) that had some keycodes I was able to use (*#2263#) and confirm I still have the 850 band.
Needless to say, make a good backup and be prepared - as already warned - to flash several times and it was ultimately a "trial and error" process that worked.
does anyone have the original brazilian/latinamerican i9000T firmware? I flashed the SGS I got from Negri with spike speedy and it looks like I lost my 850 3G band.
I never did find out how to totally back up the SGS as in back up each PDA, PHONE, and CSC file so as to be able to truly factory default it.
I live in Brazil and my sister bought this Galaxy I9000 in USA. Installed MIUI with a little bit difficulty, used some stock ROM that forgot which one... And threw MIUI on top. Since everything's was working fine, i deleted the files used. A month ago, the battery ended and shut off automatically. As soon as i could i recharged it and the phone would'nt turn on anymore. Cleared all though CWM (data/cache/Dalvik) and it was usable again. Since i lost all the apps and stuff, decided to update the version of MIUI. It failed and since then i have the /mmcblk0p2 problem when trying to flash any ROM. Tried RiffBox too, but could get nothing to work.
1 - ROM's i have tried (with and without partition): Darky Ress Edition, EZBase, XXJVU, XXJPU, XXJP1, Heimdall, XXJPC, XXJVS
2 - tried using ADB but the eMMC don't remove my partitions so i can't create them manually and it does'nt accept me to create a new one over the older doing /dev/block/mmcblk0 mkfs ext2 either.
3 - tried deleting the partitions using Gparted live with no sucess either
I can enter Recovery and Download mode, change though kernel's, copy the files using CWM Mounts and Storage, just can't delete and copy new files... Including flashing ROM's! The first time i installed MIUI i got the same error, just can't remember which ROM used before installing MIUI. I only remember that i needed to use a specific ROM to boot and then rooting and installing MIUI.
Right now the internal memory seems like uncapable of deleting/writing anything. When using mount in ADB, folders and files are r/w but the next time i reboot it is all over again. If only i could install the ROM in ext sdcard it would be ok...
Posted also on androidforums but still no solution... only ROM that seems to install properly is XXJP1 but it doesn't get pass the bootscreen. When rebooting it doesn't give me any errors, but still locked in bootscreen.
xsenman tried to help me but it stayed the same... Any ideas??
Maybe, maybe...
In a similar situation with a GT-i9000 bought in Europe, I did the following:
1) boot in download mode
2) use Odin and flash Semaphore kernel
3) reboot in recovery mode
4) wipe all data, cache, dalvik cache
5) install CM9 latest nightly build
But be aware that a Galaxy S bought in the USA might not be the i9000, which is the international model but rather a Vibrant, Captivate or another variant (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S#Variants ).
Maybe your problem arises from trying to install something designed for i9000 instead of one of these.
To check your model number goto Settings >> About >> Model Number :: GT-I9000
If you have i9000, it would worth trying this link https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum/threads/samsung-galaxy-s-gt-i9000-flashing-to-original-rom.46/

i remember installing MIUI specifically for i9000. I'll try using the ROM's for the variants since i can't boot anyway. One thing i remember is that since the first time i used another ROM it would keep giving me errors until i used one specific that worked.

oh i saw right now under the battery... it is written GT-I9000 SSN I9000GSMH
I've been trying to Change the ROM in my phone all day and I've had no luck.
I first tried Slim Bean and that worked no problems BUT...
I had a blank IMEI which means I cannot make calls and I also learnt that you can't go from GB to JB, you need to go in steps of each ICS
I think If I go back to 2.3.3, copy or back up the /efs files or something then go back to Slim Bean then copy them that MIGHT work but I haven't tried it.
[Would be nice if SlimROMs just kept Play Store in the Rom, it would make things easier but they don't call it slim for no reason!]
So I went back to 2.3.3 using an Ezbase Recovery and I've been trying to Install ICS ROMs and they have ALL failed when installing causing a boot loop.
I've tried Cyanogen 9, 9.1.0, Slim ICS and a few other I cannot remember.
Is their something I am missing? a certain kernel? Need to upgrade to 2.3.6?
I really just want to get to Jelly Bean, I've tried it first hand Via SlimROM and it's like BUTTER but It's useless at the moment if I cannot get my IMEI or network provider showing up.
Thank you in advance.

ok, for upgrades from GB to ICS, you need a 2.3.6 bootloader, you can use Ezboot without changing ROM ( link in My Android collections) and a CWM by flashing a semaphore kernel. Here you backup your EFS.
In ICS ( follow guide by developer of your chosen ROM) , you may need to flash twice, as first flash may give you boot loops
Worked like a charm.
You've been so helpful since I joined XDA.
I wish I had money to spare for the help but I massive thanks is all I can give at the moment!
OK before anyone flames me I already searched... and searched.... and searched & couldn't find the information I needed. I am only asking for assistance/input from members who are knowledgable on flashing ROMs & Kernals. Unfortunatly XDA is growing at a rate that makes searching almost unbearable.
OK to the reason for the post. I am finally looking to flash my AT&T Samsung Captivate to a custom ROM. No I don't need help flashing, got that covered. I am looking to upgrade to CM9 (Stable). I was also looking at maybe flashing the Devil Kernal also. I had originaly upgraded to ICS from Samsung via kies & rooted my phone. It ran fine with no problems for several months. Sometime a few weeks ago it started to random reboot or crash & reboot for no apparent reason. It finally locked up completly & could only use the 3 button to get it to move. I previously posted trying to get help with that here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957224). The only way I could get it to come back was to go into recovery, do a factory reset & wipe everything. So now I am back to 2.3.5 (2.6.35.7-I897UCkk4-CL614489). Also my phone is currently not rooed as a result of the wipeout. My phone is running like crap now after all that & what I consider fuctioning minimally.
So now the assistance/input portion of the thread. Because of the problems I had prior & the current state of the phone how should I proceed? Because of what I am looking to do with both the ROM & Kernal & being unrooted. Is there some app or PC program I should run to check my phone to make sure its not a hardware issue? Also should I get to a state & flash the kernal first then go to CM9? Do I need to flash the kernal at all? Forum posts are like a spiders web & some say yes, others no. My head feels like it is going to explode!
I am just looking to do this in the best way possible to achieve the best success. I unfortunatly don't have a lot of time to keep flashing ROMs all the time & funds are tight with family so buying a new S3 isn't going to happen either. Im hoping that someone knowledgable with the android system can help me do this right.
Thanks in advanced!
Chris
HELP!
OK so I took the plunge & screwed my phone up. I tried piecing info from about 20 different threads & somewhere it went wrong. If anyone actually reads this please take the 2 seconds to help. Another sites members already pissed me off with their "oh a noob" crap. I swear as much crap as people give the i-freaks its seeming more and more that the android community is becoming just as bad.
So here is where I am. I wiped my phone & tried to install CM9 (cm-9.1.0-captivatemtd). I installed it on the SD card via my pc/USB, booted into recovery, tried to install & got error. So I tried again using speedmod kernal (speedmod-kernel-i897-k13e-500hz) & got same results. The I flashed the corn kernal (CornKernel_UCKK4_v705) & made 100% sure was rooted, tried again, error. So I read yet ANOTHER thread that said to flash ICS CM9 you need a compatible kernal. So I flashed Devil (Devil3_1.1.3_ICS_cappy_CFS_BLN_CMC_20120807). There were actually 2 & ZERO info as to which of the 2 you were supposed to use. Well after I flashed it I got stuck on a boot loop & could not get into recovery after that. So I tried flashing back to Corn, now I am just stuck at the boot screen. I can though boot into recovery still.
So now I have no idea what to do. I have spent my whole day trying to get this done. I tried & I failed. Apprently easy for some, not for others. Someone please help me!
When u first flash the CM9 Rom it should reboot into the CM9's recovery within a few seconds. Then from that recovery just select install the CM9 Rom and it will do the full install of that rom. Should be good after that.
And what error are u getting when u have tried the install and it failed ??

Thank the gods I got a response! First off thank you 4-2ndtwin for even taking the time.
OK so I am still on the Corn Kernal which uses "SystemsCorps CwM- Based Recovery v5.1.0.7". Using the 3 button I selected I did the following
- Install zip from SD card
- Choose zip from SD card
- selected "cm-9.1.0-captivatemtd.zip
- selected yes "Install cm-9.1.0-captivatemtd.zip"
Then it says finding updates.... then opening updates...
The error flashes on the screen so quick I cant even read it before it goes back to the select location for zip. I did it several times and I did see something that said "E:Can't open sd card...." , "bad!". I had to do it like 20 times to get that much from it.
I am lost. I have been looking high and low & cant seem to figure this out.
If you can't help no worries. I am starting to price out new phones but really dont want to. But if you can that would be awesome!
R u copying the rom onto ur internal sd card and not the removable sdcard ?
Maybe a bad download of the Rom...Try fresh download or even a different Rom.
Have u ever seen the "Encryption Unsuccessful" error on ur phone ?? -- it is the cause/result of the internal sdcard gettin messed up. But people with that error are able to flash Roms from their external sd.

i installed it via usb/pc to the main sd, dont have a removable installed. its in the same spot as the "update.zip" is located from the ota/kies upgrade. I checked and apparently I am dislexic. the file size was wrong. I cant get my phone to boot anymore though. gets stuck on the corn start up & never goes past it. I tried using the odin3 one click & now my phone no matter what I do says "firmware upgrade failed" "try using recovery mode". so now I cant do anything.

*** Update ***
I finally got the Odin3 one click to work. I am now back to 2.1-update1, kernal is 2.6.29 [email protected] #2.
So I moved the CM9 zip file and verified 3 times the file size is correct.
So now do I just flash the kernal & then install from recovery or do I need to update to 2.3?
Im learning as I go, but damn its a painfull process! LOL

This problem is solved simply by booting into recovery and flashing the zip a second time.
You can flash from 2.1, but I recommend you be on Gingerbread bootloaders.
Well I am on the 2nd update & then should hopefully be able to try it all again. After this update I am going to flash the new kernal, root & then try the update again.... hopefully!

ive had the phone since at&t had it on display. rooted it and had various roms for the last couple years and never had any serious issues. last night i flashed jellycream v2 and then did a factory reset inside the rom. the phone prompted that it would reboot twice and that it was normal. it rebooted into twrp and did nothing afterwards. i rebooted it from the recovery and all it did was reboot back into recovery. i decided to flash a different version of twrp and still the same. then flashed clockwork and still got the same result. i wiped the bootloader and basically went through the rooting process again. flashed the latest version of twrp and the phone is still only booting into recovery.
i am at a loss because this is as far as my knowledge goes. its like the phone is stuck still trying to wait for that factory reset from the jellycream rom or something and it wont do anything else but load TWRP.
If factory hard reset will not work (with phone off, press power and volume up together for some seconds. You might want to try also holding home on the touch screen.) flashing firmware will fix it unless you have hardware failure, which I doubt.

Part 1 can be tricky, so take your time and get that right before proceeding.

so far i get the grey LG screen with 'booti mmc_read xxxx' at the upper left with the hard reset. it only takes 2 seconds to show up but the phone shuts off if i continue to hold the power and volume buttons. ill read up on that link here.
I missed that you wiped bootloader. You need that . So you could maybe just install the wkpark bootloader in recovery. You would do 1 and 3 here (1.25a file is down the page)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39130435
I think Jellycream actually requires you have it, if I remember correctly.
Not sure why factory reset would cause that issue, but it will definitely not start without bootloader.
Flashing firmware will also write the (stock) bootloader if that does not do it. It will also reinstall the OS if system is corrupt or missing.
I can't find the thread for Jellycream2. Would you post a link? Are you sure it is for P920/P925 (same device, one is AT&T branded. I have the Thrill P925). If it is not for those device numbers, you may need xbsall's unbrick guide.
Also, if Jellycream2 is based on ICS and you were on a GB ROM, you would likely have needed to first upgrade to ICS and then install the ROM.
I'm just trying to understand why a factory reset could brick your phone...

ok basic rundown of what i did in the last year;
when first played around with rooted it about a year ago i used all-in-one to do it. i had already upgraded to ics using the lg mobile support tool prior to rooting. rooting went off fine until i installed a Beats Audio app from the play store. when the phone rebooted after it would be stuck at the grey LG logo. i didnt know what to do so i used twrp and wiped the whole phone. then i used all-in-one and flashed the ICS bootloader and did the flash kernel 4 fix or something its one of the last options to do. then using twrp i flashed ICS_V20_P20, Stock_V20P_Rooted, and a Thrill Update, the phone rebooted fine in an ICS rom but it ran like complete ****, so i tried various roms and the one i settled with was called OptimusRS V1. i used that up until 2 days ago when i flashed the jellycream rom.
after i factory reset that i tried to flash the different wkpark bootloader and twrp that came with the megatron tool hoping that would fix the issue. but it did so i reflashed the original twrp and ics bootloader from all-in-one.
failed to mention this before but i tried 3 different recovery files in between each attempt and it would flash and reboot fine but the phone would still do the same thing and just load recovery.
ill find links when i get off work today. thats the basic history of the phone though.
Hmm. Stil not sure then . Maybe a corrupt zip or you wiped something important. Flashing with LG Flashtool should recover it. And always make a Nandroid backup before installing anything from recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2392309
thats the jellycream rom.
im downloading the files for your xbsa rom at the moment. i do remember yesterday when i used the megatron tool i saw an option to flash the stock bootloader and recovery. i tried it but all i got was the pink LG logo then a security error message below it and the phone shut off.
Oh, ok, OptimusRS's ROM.
Hmm, I thought v20 was GB or something... If it is not ICS then that would be the problem. Also it does say there you need wkpark bootloader for that ROM.
Also, xbsall's v28B includes recovery but it is in system partition. I don't know if that ROM requires you install it from recovery partition or not.
If you still want Jellycream you should be able to flash xbsall's ICS v28B (the normal partitions one, not large partitions), then install wkpark bootloader 1.25a in recovery, then the ROM.

Oh, ok, OptimusRS's ROM.

well that breaks down that a bit better. my progress at the moment is step f6. when i connect the phone nothing installs though. it just reconnects and disconnects every second or so. im guessing its because i already have those files. dunno though. i cant get my pc to install the adb drivers for the life of me when the phone is connected in recovery mode.it sees the new hardware just cant find the files.
actually i got it. for some reason the phone wouldnt install anything until i put the battery back in at that step. i continued successfully to step M. the phone is setting up my google account at the moment.
will flashing the baseband be necessary if my apn and sim work like the phone is now? my provider is h20(canadian i heard) but im the usa.
HUGE thanks regardless
Cool :thumbup::beer:
The no battery part is just for driver install, which is fiddly for this phone. Sometimes trial and error is a factor.
The baseband you have now would be the one you had previously. If it works, no problem. The one in the v28B pack is supposed to be optimized for the v28B .bin file, but hey, whatever works.

im only getting E for data. i tried to flash a baseband meant for at&t but it says failed after about 90 seconds. still no 4g though. i did flash the xbsav8 before i set my apn up. i might just go with an optimusRS rom again though. i was happy with it. probably not jellycream this time.
Baseband fail after 80 or so sec is normal. It means it worked. Check your baseband in android settings/about phone.
You might try speed test app to compare actual speed. ATT 4G icon is a lie on this phone IMO.
Now that your pc is set up you can flash any P925/920 bin. Kdz files (combo of bin and fls, there is another tool for flashing those files) can be extracted into separate bin and fls, but I have not done it. The advantage is you can flash baseband separately.
Xbsalls vX3D (see his page) with the P925G fls file gives me 4G icon on Straight Talk in the US, but I like his vR3D better, and I can't tell a speed difference, honestly.
I have not actually measured the speed in either, however.
And for either of those ROMs, you must flash his large partition version of v28B first...very important.
oh its definitely like 2g speeds. its pretty slow. i tried using my providers app and website and its saying the phone i have isnt registered to them anymore so it might be just that. if thats the case ill just bring it in so they can do that for me. when i rooted it the first time i wasnt getting any data and they had to re-register the phone to get it to work right.
my baseband says OMAPP4430/XMM6260. for comparison and/or confirm differences. i have no idea lol.
side question though; my sdcard still has recovery files for the optimusRS v1 rom i had on it. i really liked the setup i had when i made the recovery for it. Im tempted to reinstall it but im really not too sure if itll work or worse harm my phone again.
Lots of variables, but you must remember that xbsall's P940 recovery app he he uses has recovery in system partition. The recovery you had before was probably in recovery partition. They write restores from two different places. Probably you would get an error, but not positive. Understanding that may take some Googling...
If you try it, back up before trying to restore the old backup. Then you could hopefully restore if the restore fails, know what I mean?
Probably the safest thing is to use the all in one tool to install recovery in recovery partition and use that one to restore backup.
I do know when I have restored backups, I have wiped Dalvik, Cache, and Factory Reset (in recovery) and then restore. Then it works. Some people wipe system too.
You can usually flash to recover from a problem, but then you have to set your phone up again
Well I recovered everything. All settings and personalized stuff. Just everything. Everything is running normal again. Just now my data is saying im using an h20 microcell instead of just H20 with a 4g connection. This 2g stuff is for the birds. I'm almost thinking the firmware we flashed has something to do with it. The phone is functional though. Just slow and no mms. I haven't been able to find much on the forums about it. I'll poke around more tomorrow.
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda app-developers app
I'd try another baseband.
