Transformers movie UK - Nexus 7 General

Hi all got my nexus 7 yesterday I'm very happy with it but.... How are we meant to redeem the Transformers movie as in the UK at least jt doesn't appear to be in the play store?

I got my n7 this morning and the transformers movie seemed to be preloaded. I just had to make it available offline

It's in your library, or if you open Google movies. It should be sat there.

Nope

Nope I've got nothing in there.... How strange anyone else have this issue?

tried a reset
After reading a few other forum posts I even tried a full factory reset still nothing appears.

Did you get the £15 credit & the book or none of the extras?

You're on the "Personal Videos" tab, it wont show up there as it is not a file on your device. Click films at the top and you will see it, then you can click in the bottom right hand corner to make available offline.

pics
I got the £15 credit but nothing else this is a screen from the other films screen there is nothing in there either :s

I would see if you have the software update available for jellybean and also for the play store. I had to go into the play store to see mine. Go into the movies part of the play store. Mine isn't stored on the tablet but is able to be streamed.

go to the google play store on the pc and click on my movies, is it there?

nothing
There's nothing in software update and nothing on the PC on the play store when I go to movies .
Is it anything to do with I can't even find it on the play store to buy ?

UK Market
Can anyone else living in the UK see the Transformers film in the market? As I only get only get a movie called "leader" when I search for it.

Anyone got any idea where it is stored on the device after download?
I want to back it up so I don't lose it when I flash a new rom
Thanks

When I bought it it came "pre-installed" but it was just streaming and I had to make it available offline.
I did a factory restore and it was not in the market ON MY PC, however it was on the market ON MY TABLET.
Make sure you are using the market on your tablet or it will not show up.
nm-Looks like you've done that....

Once rooted can you play movies from Google Play?

Either the Transformer movie or one you bought.

Yes, It seems that Google now lets you use the Movie/TV app while Rooted.
I haven't bought anything else, but Transformers plays fine on my rooted Nexus 7.
Plays fine for me.

Does anyone buy or rent new Movie/TV from Play Store?
After you bought, can you play video?
My rooted Xperia Play cannot play video, so my Nexus 7 does not root.
I'm pretty sure you can play movies /w root because of the encryption scheme in jellybean. I'm guessing that the actual videos get encrypted as app data. Root or no root, I doubt they can be copied off the device and played.
Honestly, I have a lot of respect for google in this regard....they are the only company that has figured out a way to allow users to tinker with their devices and still uphold whatever the copyright holders and developers want...don't get me wrong though, i HATE drm. Google is awesome for figuring out a solution that makes both sides happy.
I bought the season of Breaking Bad since rooting my Nexus7.No problems with purchase or playing it.Transformers plays great just as before rooting.I am stock JB except for the rooting process.
Yes you can use the Movies/TV app now.. i just bought a TV Ep the other day and it streamed just fine from the cloud.. i don't know about on my Gnex or other rooted devices
EDIT: Looks like its still not working on other devices.. just tried watching the same episode i bought on my Nexus 7 on my gnex and it kept saying " can't fetch license 901"

That's interesting. I wonder if it's actually a hardware thing after all? Well for other devices you can just use the Temp Unroot feature in the Superuser app. I've been testing this feature and it's worked flawlessly. Flixster streams Movies fine when enabled and so does Google Movies on my other devices.

Share some good video apps

I thought would start this post since I didn't see one where people could some of there favorite video apps that don't come stock on the N7. Her is my list:
1. Netflix - pretty good app and greatest availability of streaming movies you will find from a monthly service.
2. Xfinity Player: Nice updates to the UI for 7 inch tablets and really good for catching up on old episodes of Spartacus.
3. Crunchyroll: The premiere app for watching animes that are subbed and best of all they have a free option that works over Wi-Fi. Doesn't work over Bluetooth tethering, but ICS built in Wi-Fi tethering is just fine if you don't mind the ads.
4. HomeDia: A nice free app that allows you to stream videos on your home network. I paired mine up with plex media server since you have to pay for tversity and it has worked well. If it doesn't play a video just use a third video player app like rockplayer.
5. Dailymotion: To be honest the only reason I use this app is to catch up with subbed anime episodes of OnePiece, outside of that nothing really else for me.
The good thing about these apps are they are free to download and numbers 1, 2, and 5 have apps for the Xbox 360. Well those are mine, so what are yours?

Crackle has some good free movies and tv shows. I also like to browse vimeo using the app, there are lots of cool videos on there.
If you like to watch current TV DROID TV Primetime actually works very well on the N7. There are quite a few free shows but for @$9 for three months you can get shows like Game of Thrones, Mad Men, Greys Anatomy, and dozens of others. I have used it for over a year on my DROID X and it sizes up really well to the 7inch for factor.

Are you doing this on a N7?
I had problems with it on my N7 in that I couldn't get it to lower/hide the info when the video was playing. Unless I am missing something .... On my phone it worked just fine.
UPDATE
Now if this isn't stupid on my part..... if you touch the video when it is playing, a icon shows on the bottom left to make it Full Screen... thought I had tried everything...

Thanks I didnt know that Crackle would work with the N7 unless I installed flash. So far it looks pretty good, I just dont like how the UI doesn't work that well in portrait mode. Hey that's what updates are for.

Why is it a joke...... Spotify charges the exact same amount for mobile devices.
If Google can get the deals in place and match their library, there is no joke about it, especially if you get in early on for the $7.99 price.

It's 7.99 a month if you sign up for the free trial before mid-june I think? http://www.androidcentral.com/google-play-music-all-access-unveiled
I'm a long-time Rhapsody user, but I've got to say, being able to combine the music I already have or have purchased with a subscription service is awfully convenient. On the other hand, only being able to use it on the web/my phone instead of also on my xbox for living room listening is less wonderful.

Yea I signed up for it because it would be nice as you said for streaming plus songs I already have. But with so many companies offering music services it's going to be hard to have a single solution across all platforms. With this and my xbox/win8 set up I'm pretty much covered.

i really want to subscribe to this but im outside US any ideas how i can achieve this?
I've been on Spotify for over a year, tried MOG, Rdio, everything. So far this has the best interface, with more music in some respects, with notification bar controls, and landscape mode, for 7.99. Great job Google! Just won me
I ditched MOG for All Access. I don't use all of its expanded features, but it does exactly what I need it to do.
I've not previously subscribed to a music service, couple of questions some of you may be able to answer... I have some guesses. Let me know if there are other use cases:
[Q-1] Why is there an option to still upload my music library when I've already purchased all access? I can play anything I want already, on demand or radio-like.
[GUESS-1] Is this to upload music I write, or music that's not licensed through the service (like a certain artist I want is missing, or not commercial yet)? Anything else? Should I "upload" music that I own that is available for streaming play? Will that impact anything like the quality? I'm guessing not, and I'm hoping if it detects a match it won't waste my 20,000 song space, or bother shoving up data it already has a better copy of.
[Q-2] Why can we still "buy" songs when we're all access? I can already play anything Google has. Why are you showing me this? I have seen a few comments (while searching for these answers) of people actually saying they wish their $7.99/mo. subscription came with 10 free songs... Why? That doesn't seem logical.
[GUESS-2] So I can still play it if I drop the subscription?

1) It's a holdover from when Google Music was upload/purchase only and didn't have a streaming option. I already had most of my albums uploaded to GMusic for streaming purposes. Now, though, I guess it's only if you want to upload stuff that isn't in Google's catalog.
2) For when you unsubscribe.

You can't download all access music on your pc, just purchased tracks or your own. Also, Google doesn't have licenses for every label and every artist/album. Uploading your own supplements this. I also suspect their purchase library is larger than all access streaming but I can't confirm this, just guessing.

It's there, you sure you are not looking hard enough?
I checked on my Galaxy S4 and Nexus 10, it's there under the settings. And I am willing to bet if it is one my Nexus 10, it should be on your Nexus 4.
The one thing I LOVE about Google Music/All Access is that it displays the song playing on my car's radio, Spotify doesn't. Spotify is also finnicky with headset controls...sometimes when I hit play the stock Android players kicks on.
But what I do give Spotify props for are the nice little features - the desktop program is really easy to use, easy to create and modify your playlists, easy to see what's new and trending, and I really use the Popularity feature a lot. Also the app has crossfading, which is a little but awesome feature, it's also an easier interface.
I'm really on the fence with this one.

Unable to watch movie via 'play movies?'

First time I've ever downloaded a movie from the playstore onto my htc One. When I go to watch movie on 'play movies' via 3G it's unable to play movie. Anyone know why this is? Is there a way round this at all?
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Anyone???
It was my understanding that once you root your device you can no longer play Google play movies or shows.
Not sure if that's the cause for you.

Amazon Instant Video app now available

Probably too little, too late, but then again, maybe not, but Amazon has finally released an android version of the Amazon Instant Video app:
http://www.droid-life.com/2014/09/09/amazon-prime-finally-comes-to-android-after-all-these-years/
However, no Chromecast support. Boo!
It does work. I've installed it on both my RAZR HD and my Nexus 7. However, you must also have the Amazon store app installed as well.
On the Nexus 7, you MUST install the non-tablet version of the Amazon store app. Until I installed the non-tablet version, it would keep telling me I had to install it and then would redirect me to the Amazon store web page.
Anyway to get it to work offline? Looks like you can only stream. I tried to purchase a video and download it. No dice.
Amazon and Netflix are streaming services.

That's kind of short sighted.
On the kindles, you can download videos for offline play. A buddy of mine does this frequently for long flights.
I meant that Amazon prime is streaming. Maybe it is different on an amazon device..I don't know. I think you may be able to download if you rent or buy but I'm not sure.

Doesn't surprise me Amazon didn't include Chromecast, even though it is the #1 selling devices in Electronics on Amazon.
Maybe they think this will increase their streaming player's popularity... They'd be wrong. But maybe that's what they're thinking =).
There doesn't appear to be a way to download currently on Androids. Hopefully, this will be in a future update, but I'm not sure. I'm just glad I can access my Instant videos from my Android device now without having to use the Dolphin browser. So much better.
Maybe now I can remove Flash from my device as that was the only reason I had it installed.
