Root your phone here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
After that use mobileodin from goggle market to flash speemod in tar files. This will not produce binary count or yellow triagle.

Stock LRG with kimi's 15 toogle systemui.apk on the speedmod 3.9 kernel.

ok... we got speedmod and note core..
only 2??
list your kernel!!!
thanks

Im sticking to 4.0.4 stock kernel since I benchmark with antutu got 6600 point compared 5385 with 4.0.3 speedmode 3-7, battery life can reach a day plus

Goku safe kernel
Cf root 5.6 safe stock kernel
Franco safe kernel, i dont know if its been already deleted in the forum, last time i read the moderator are going to delete it.

AOKP Milestone 6. With CM9 kernel.. FTW!!

Criskelo v9 franco kernel
Criskelo v9 with franco kernel, but i think i will change to speedmod in 9.1.

Recommendable are cf-root (attention, brick bug), gl_notecore and the latest speedmod (both safe). My favourite would be goku but unfortunately funky81 hasn't adapted it yet to 4.0.4, bluetooth does not work.

[Q] Easiest way to CWM v3 -> v5

Hello everyone,
I had a quick search but couldn't find the answer so I do appologise if I missed it.
My current S has CWM v3 on it and I would like to upgrade it to v5.
What is the best way to do this? Thank you.
Flash a kernel with the CWM you want.
I see so it is that easy
Any urls to exactly which one I need and the way to do it - Really do not want to mess this phone up Thank you for your reply.
Well, assuming you are on Cyanogenmod 7.2, a gingerbread kernel would do.
[KERNEL] Semaphore 2.7.4 (CF-Root + Voodoo Snd v10 + OC/UV + BLN)
It comes with CWM v5.0.2.7
I am on stockginger bread rooted with cmw v3. Just got the phone. Does the fact I am not on CM 7.2 mean I need a different methoe? Thank you.

Is your phone a Galaxy Ace (s5850) or a Galaxy S (i9000)?
This is important because I've been giving you a link for i9000.

Just flash another kernel using odin. Devil is a good one to use. All the latest ones use cwm 5 but it doesn't reallty do anything the older one doesn't. I would stick to chainfire on Stock rom mate.
You have an i9000 with stock gingerbread.
Which version of GB?
Since you are on stock you'll be using ODIN to flash the kernel. Are you familiar with ODIN?
yes I have already gone this but the kernal was cwm v3 I need to find one with v5. And thank you for your replies and help
Sent from my M1001 using XDA
Well then, if you've flashed a kernel via ODIN before, then grab the kernel as suggested and flash it.
Check if CF-Root has cwm 5, I think it only goes to v3.

From Samsung ICS to CM10

Hello,
Right now, my Galaxy Note is running a rooted version Samsung ICS:
Android Version: 4.0.3
Baseband Version: N7000XXLPT
Kernel Version: 3.0.150N7000XXLPY-CL474507
Build Number: IML74K.XXLPY
I'd like to try CM10, but I've been reading a lot of issues from people flashing ROMs from Samsung ICS. What would be the safest way to install CM10? Should I downgrade to a Samsung Gingerbread ROM first? What procedure would you guys recommend?
Thanks,
Tiago
It is important to downgrade first to samsung stock GB.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JO93XJ2C8pc&feature=plcp
Follow his instructions to a tee and you should be good to go.
The youtube video is courtesy of aphroditelikesme(all credits to the dude, as I constantly subscribed to his youtube videos)
Don't forget to hit the 'Thank's button if I have helped you in some way or the other.
Thanks a lot!
But should I flash a stock Samsung GB ROM or a rooted GB ROM? Should I use CWM or Odin to flash GB?

you can flash the pre rooted GB rom by Chainfire...then flash the cf kernel....do a full wipe and then just flash CM10. Find the procedure here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784
Go to section 1.3 and u find the way....hope it helps....:good:
Flash it to stock GB
here's the other link for the video.. again all courtesy to the creator of that video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr3DDEh8vyc
There's also the links of the ROM (choose checkROM GB or RocketROM) and the kernel you need to download.
Just follow his video bud, (I'm following his video for flashing roms and I never miss going back to this video to downgrade to GB)
Cheers!
I see. So flashing Abyss kernel from Samsung ICS (LPY kernel) using CWM is actually safe? I just want to be sure because I've seen many people advising not to use CWM at all if you are on a Samsung ICS ROM.
abysskernel is not an infected kernel, that is why mostly when your going to downgrade to gingerbread.. most flashers will tell you to flash first to abysskernel then flash the GB rom after.

OK, I flashed Abyss kernel (worked fine), rebooted recovery, made a full wipe, flashed Rocket ROM and rebooted the system. I see the boot animation, but after that, nothing happens (blank screen). I've waited over 5 minutes, but the ROM doesn't boot. Anything else I can try?
I'm f*cking tired of explaining this over and over again...MY GOD!! You could've just read the CM9 installation instructions, CHECKED OUT THE STICKIES, ANYTHING LIKE THAT!
THE ONLY 100% SAFE WAY TO GET RID OF AN INFECTED KERNEL IS TO FLASH TO GB THROUGH PC ODIN!! Why the F*CK does everyone prefer to flash abyss and take that risk...!?
IF!! You're confident that RocketRom flashed correctly, you could probably full wipe (AGAIN) from recovery (you'd be on a safe kernel) and that should solve your problem...
Wait for a 2nd opinion though...

You guys got me worried for a second. I guess I just had a bad download of Rocket ROM after all.

CleaNote V5.00

Double checking flashing procedure.
I am new to this forum and the Galaxy Note don't have enough post to post this question in the development section yet.
I am currently on stock rom android 2.3.6. the kernel version is [email protected]#2
The phone has been rooted.
I was going to install a different rom but decided to stay with the more stock looking CleaNote rom.
1. boot into recovery
2. wipe cashe, delvek cashe
3. install Franco Kernel R5 optional right?
4. reboot and then flash the CleaNote rom.
are these the correct procedures?
thanks
Franco its outdated.. Cleanote has the v11.3 notecore kernel as default after you get the rom running go to notecore thread and get the lastest.. 12.5
And yeah your procedure its good if by recovery you mean cwm and also wipe data

Flash latest Notecore kernel using pc odin, it will root and install cwm recovery as well, once you are on this safe kernel you can flash any custom rom via cwm recovery. No need to flash GB for this.
Note- you have to use triangle away to reset binary count after flashin custom kernel.
You can also follow flashing guide on your selected rom thread after flashin custom kernel.

Whenever you change the base like cm9 to ics then it is recommended to flash gb to be safe. But you can use shortcuts too like abyss or direct wipe and flash from cwm. The first way gives you full performance with extra juice. No fcs and sods.

Yes GB is definitely safe from Brick Bug.
You can downgrade to GB from ICS (I presume you are on ICS right now). But please follow to the point instructions given by Dr. Ketan for downgrade to pre-rooted GB ROM. The link can be obtained from his signature from the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801341
you are right but you can be safe on ICS too if you want to
depends how you want to use your Note
If you're rooted on ICS - Just flash a safe ICS Kernel;
Speedmod
NoteCore
HydraCore
