many thanks in advance
There are different ways.
If your device is Rooted you can use Titanium Backup from the Playstore.
You can Backup your Data with your Google Account.
With a Fullwipe your Data on your internal SD card stay untouched. So you won't loose your photos and Videos.
For your apps you can also use app2zip from the Playstore.

Titanium backup is the best if your device is rooted

contacts and calander in gmail, apps and app data titanium backup.
tip check my profile, statistics and thrn threads and read the one on full backup solution
edit, for sms/etc best use another solution. several in playstore.
another tip change backup location to external, that is less likely to be formatted by accident by yourself.

Google account for personal data (big brother yada yada)
Titanium backup for apps, however it is not advised to restore those data if you come from a radically different ROM.

Hi ppl
Is there any way to have all apps installed the way it was before switching to a new rom ? I mean when I try out new roms I have to install all apps again. I've tried my backup pro and titanium but they only restore all apps. Anyone has a faster way of doing this??

I'm using MyBackup root therefor. Here you can restore all apps with the data in batch mode. But I think MyBackup pro should also do it.
Did u backup your apps along with all their data? There is an option in Titanium Backup to do so in the batch option. I still have my high scores of Temple Run
MyBackup Pro seems to be the best bet considering Titanium does create issues for some folks.
But do remember restoring apps can produce errors in the working of the ROM which otherwise wouldn't exist.
Safest best is to clean instal your apps again.
Tx guys but I cannot get all apps installed . It only restores them with their respective data. I don't wanna install all apps again one by one after flashing a new rom

Titanium backup has a batch restore mode where you can restore more than one app at a time. If this is not what you mean, I don't have a clue what you're talking about.
I haven't used titanium but I'll check it out. Just to make sure do the apps get installed or just restored? I mean do I have to hit the install button for every app?

Listen buddy, this is a community here. Respect others to get respect for yourself.
Your posts are quite inconsistent.
In the same thread, at the start of the post you mentioned you have used Titanium & a couple of posts later you state you HAVE NOT yet used titanium.
with incorrect/incomplete info no one would be able to assist you correctly & your frustration levels are going to rise.
@letmedanz I didn't mean to disrespect anyone but the way nonverbose responded wasn't cool.
Anyway what I meant when I said I used titanium was that I installed it and removed it within minutes. But I'm not here to prove anything so am gonna forget it and apologize to whoever I offended.

That's cool buddy..
Anyhow, a couple of options are available...
at most times when you install a fresh rom, android automatically installs the apps you had on earlier.
This happens when you run the new rom for the first time, in the initial setup.
Provided you have synced your phone with your gmail account.
once you provide your wifi and/or apn details android will automatically download and instal all the apps.
your second option is as you mentioned, third party apps like titanium & mybackup pro.
personally, i prefer MBP cos titanium has given me more than one problem.
MBP is a neat app, you can either backup/restore all apps or just select a few.
howevre , i still believe it is best to reinstall all apps after a new rom instal, cos restored apps may force close or have other issues specially if you are changing between GB & ICS etc
+1 for Titanium backup !!!
You can backup personnal applications, but their settings and your system settings too !!!
The retore process is quicker than google process because you haven't to download applications from network.

I have titanium backup pro and have not figured out how to restore all the settings. Maybe I'm confused, but I have to spend hours setting all the preferences, screens widgets etc each time I flash a new ROM. I've heard you can "Image" backup. Does Titanium do that?
Go backup and go backup pro is best..It don't prompt to install each and every app every time..batch restore with data..easy than titanium backup..

Make sure you know what you're talking about before you post. Titanium backup pro HAS batch restore mode in which you don't have to INDIVIDUALLY install every app.

I am currently onZeus 7.06 from many months. Now I want to try any ICS based Roms.
If I do a full wipe and install the custom Rom, all my apps/games would be deleted.
I have Titanium backup, which keeps a backup of all the updated apps.
I have cleared many levels and have high scores in many games. I also have customized features of many apps to my liking. I don't want to lose all that.
As per my knowledge, Titanium backup keeps backup of the Base app.
What should I do if I want to retain the high scores of the games?
Please help me.

Just use Titanium Backup, guess why it asks when you restore if you want to restore just the app, just data or both?

Hi!
I have a question about data backup (I mean installed user apps, contacts,...) when migration to another ROM.
So. I want to migrate to cyanogenmod 10.1 (link) from official samsung ROM. Now I am wondering if it is possible to migrate all my data stored on the phone. Therefore I will not have to install all my apps from market again one by one.
I have purchased Titanium Backup Pro and I am looking for some help.
Thank you & I hope this is not answered already.
İ use nandroid manager for it . i didn`t see any problems. But you have to make a nandroid back up before flashin new rom .

For contacts, i recommend merging it with google and you can get it back on any device, including IOS
Backing up data
1. Open up Titanium Backup
2. Click the icon at the top right (a piece of paper with a tick)
3. Click Backup all user apps (choose the ones you want to backup)
4. Once you're done, repeat step 2 then click backup system data
5. Chose the yellow or green coloured ones, ignore the reds (read this for green ones)
6. ????
7. Profit

You might want to explore with the settings and batch actions
Make your back up from recovery
Wipe data dalvik cache and cache
İnstall the rom and gapp
After configration cm 10.1 download nandroid manager from play store
Select your back up and select install data and user aplication

Google contacts sync never works properly. Press menu in your contacts and select export to storage or SD card. You can import them from the file created on almost any ROM.

If you do a TWRP backup on the Gear, when you re - pair the Gear, it should restore all the Samsung settings, then if you restore the data only from the TWRP backup it will restore all of your sideloaded apps, Nova settings, widgets etc.
When going from one device to another, is there a way to back up all my apps, wallpaper, and other data and then transfer to the new phone? Does the Google backup that's built into the settings do this when you sign in on the new device. Is there a 3rd party app that can do this?
Thanks guys.

You can try smart switch. It doesn't automatically download all your apps but gives easy access to them. But it does recover other stuff from old device

Helium is great....but it won't backup or restore app data.....just the app itself. But that is better than nothing.....

Switching from my S4 to the S5 using Helium did bring the app data - for me at least.
From the app description:
Helium does NOT require root. All Android users can use Helium to backup and sync Android applications.
Helium lets you backup your apps and data to your SD card or cloud storage.
Thanks for the info. I will have to check it out again
