The best ICS or JB rom in this moment? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm going to flash a new rom because I'm still on Gingerbread 2.3.5 and It's outdate now...but I like the fast browser of Gb...so in this moment what Ics or Jb rom that you tried do you recommend for daily use without bugs and with fastest browser?
Ps: I don't like rom where I have to flash other things to get it works..so give me your opinion!

Hey
JB still has some minnor bugs..ICS doesnt but ICS is not as fast as JB..

My opinion is CM10 from DerTeufel -
I have question about JB Rom I have more than 1000 photos on my DCIM folder but the Gallery only show 500 photos

Im quite interested in ICS myself so would love to here the most stable one out there, closest to 'stock' would be good. Loving stock ICS on my Nexus S

ATM i'm using the tajb mkalter JB port it s already fast and regurarly updated

Are over the air updates doable for the custom jobs yet?

For ICS:
- CODENAME ANDROID 2.0.0 RC, my version with Aroma is a more! Not because mine but thanks to Aroma!
For Jelly Bean:
- CM10 of Derfeutel1980
- TAJB of Mtalker
ENJOY!!!

Jelly Bean is at a very preliminary stage now and is very sluggish. Give it some time to mature.

CM9 RC2 is basically stable and issue free, I'd stay under that tree until CM10 Beta 1/ RC1 are available.

Tried Cm10 and tajb , but don't look so fast, I wait a mature version, free bug, and now I've slim ics, it is wondefoul, no bug, very smooth...only browser is slow, does anyone know a tweak for the browser?
Inviato dal mio GT-I9000 con Tapatalk 2

Probably not yet, try another play from Google?

For ics, I'm running cm9 blueberry for couple days, so far so good.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2

I'm running CM 10 Alpha, build 20120725. It's very smooth and fast and I'd recommend it for daily use.

totally agreed mate i installed cm10 but no use jb is alpha not even beta yet i use REM-ICS fast smooth stable...

Best ROM
The best i think is JellyBean 4.1.1, you can find it on this forum

I don't find to use jelly bean now a good idea, I think is better to wait a "candidate release" that will be more affordable

Hi, sorry to interfere but just to avoid opening another thread: which is the most stable and issues free ICS rom for i9000 at the moment? CM9, AOKP, Tsunami ICS or Slim ICS? Which release exactly? Where can I find it? Thanks in advance

i cant install slim ics.....always bootloop....huhuhu

Stability wise, they're all reliable (unless they specifically say they are unstable).
Speed wise even CM10 is perfectly usable for me.. the more lightweight ROMs may be faster, but I prefer the features to a fraction of extra speed.
Definitely a Jelly Bean rom is your choice. Like already said, all of them (if listed here on XDA) are good for everyday use unless stated otherwise in the OP.
Which JB one? That is your job through trial and error. Because what's best for me, is not necessarily the ideal one for you.
Would you also recommend SlimBean already? I'm still on SlimICS, which is a really good rom for me...

But what if everyone provided a benchmark score (eg AnTutu) when they report about the speed and stability of which ROM they are using. Then we could all make a direct comparison and find out which ROM really is the fastest. (As for stability, that is more subjective.)

I'm on SlimBean but I wish I'd stayed on SlimICS.
I got 2 days of battery on ICS but now it's struggling to get half a day.
I wonder if they archived SlimICS anywhere, I'd like to reflash it
Actually I don't find the stability of any JB rom to be as good as GB's one. You might be interested in trying GamerzRom v9 (GB 2.3.6). I think it's THE cleanest rom ever made for this phone.
Anyway, at the moment I'm using CyanAOSP v0.52 which is pretty stable(not much rubbish installed), lightning fast(with recommended settings) and has a great battery life.

You should try the latest SVA rom, it's TW based rom and the best JellyBean rom so far (for me).
I use it everyday, no memory leak, no freeze, no FC, no SOD and good connectivity on both WiFi/Data.:good:
any JB leak flash via odin seems to lag a lot. have you rooted it and removed bloatware to free up some system memory, if not try that.. also if you can.. try install eybees XXLSA.. its good. no freezes for me
I'm on XXLSC Angrt vT1 Rom with floating multiwindows and I never had a single freeze too...
Tw based jb leaks are known for freezing...there is no fix for it right now...

Try Union ROM. Though it's not posted here, you can search it in google.
Previously on eybee1970's XXLSA & now using chronosmachine's Xxlsc (25-Dec) build. Both Rom are stable and never encountered a single freeze mate. Of course need a full wipe and follow op exactly.

Smoothest JB TW ROM Available

?Can someone help me pick their favorite smoothest ROM available now. I think ThaiDai's leak is pretty smooth but overnight gets all freezy and I usually have to flash again.
PLS HELP!!
All living JB Custom Roms are based on the XXLSA leak from sammobile with my OTA updates to XXLSX and the dump of it. Until Samsung provides a new version you'll have problems with the leak - no matter what Custom Rom you choose.
Stay on ICS or GB and wait for OTA updates from Samsung. I'm using the stock XXLSA right now (and still hoping and waiting for new developer updates like XXLSB and XXLSC) and it's ok.
go for any custom LSA (eybees) of LSC (ultimate)... good stable and smooth. but will require a reboot in a couple of days to keep it working smooth.. Yes and as ThaiDai said.. use ICS stock rom for rock steady
I'm currently running Ultimate 5.1 with Philz 3.99 as a daily driver and am loving it. No sleep of death/reboot of death. Great performance, great battery life. Stable as hell.
my two cents...
i've used ultimate (xxlsc) for some time but changed it with BurtROM. i find burtrom much more smooth than ultimate's
If you like tablet mode RevengeDevTeam and xperiacle made an awsome tablet mod... search for Angry vT1 rom and update with OTA its great....
Cheers

I have Ultimate ROM but it just seems EVERY TW ROM FREEZES
I have been using SVA v4 XXLSC for weeks now without any problems.
Fast and smooth.
EDIT: It is worth noting that I have had problems with a number of apps on TW JB that have been resolved by the Dev of the app.
I have been using TW JB custom ROMs since XXLSA.

+1. But not putting the device into regerous tasks for lack of confidence and unknown doubts. Just using it as a phone, listening some music, watching movies, light browsing. As said in earlier posts, ics or gb is best for the time being.

Strange, I just tried Alliance ROM XXLSZ and found it not very smooth as compared to CM 10.1 nightly. I did a full wipe for the installation. Sorry for the (noob) question - can I ever achieve the same level of smoothness on TW based ROMS as the stock ROM on Note 2?
Thread closed as it's basically a best ROM thread.
