Is my Nexus 7 defective? - Nexus 7 General

So I downloaded a movie on my phone from the play store today. I checked the playstore website on my computer and it shows the movie as downloaded there as well. The problem is it won't show up as downloaded on my Nexus 7. It keeps giving me the option to download it, but when I try to download it, at least 6 times now it gets hung at some random point in the download. Finally a red exclamation point pops up and tells me the movie could not be downloaded.
I have checked my internet connection, but that is not the problem. I ultimately just want to have the movie downloaded on my device so I can view it without an internet connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I almost forgot, I have already tried clearing cache and data within the play store app.

That would have been my suggestion. Hope you get it figured out though!

Go to apps and go to all and go to Google frame work and clear it out and force stop it then clear data out of market and try again

Apps Not Showing

I tried searching because I thought I'd seen the answer to my problem before but I came up empty so I apologize if this has been asked and I missed it.
I did a data wipe on my phone today to see if it'd clear up some issues I was having. After the wipe non of my apps from the play store are showing up, regardless of free or purchased, the only thing that comes up is the preloaded apps.
What's the trick to get the play store to refresh and load my apps?
I tried to restore the backup I made before the wipe but it fails to reload.
Wiping data will remove your downloaded apps. Open the Play Market, hit menu, "my apps" and you'll see a list of everything you currently have downloaded/installed. Swipe over and you'll find the list of everything you've purchased and downloaded recently (free or not).

Thanks, I didn't realize it did that.
I thought there was a way to get it to reload most of the apps automatically but this will have to do.
I appreciate the help.

[Q] Google play music

So I made a booboo... I tried to set up a subscription using "bill to account" while connected to WiFi. Of course it errors out but unlike buying an app in the play store this one keeps the error. It will only give me debit or credit option with a message at the top pretty much saying billing to the account was not allowed. I've tried uninstalling the app and wiping cache but when reinstalling the app it gives same code. Any help would be great...
When I set up a new gmail account the option is there but not with current one. Is there a way to wipe all saved settings from her gmail account. Maybe that might help.
Stupid stupid stupid Google. For anyone else. If you want Google play all access don't try to add it to your account while connected to WiFi

Try clearing the cache or even data for the play store.

Stupid as it is, that definitely doesn't always clear relevant settings. I have no idea why (other than sloppy uninstallation routines), but it really doesn't. Has billing to your account worked elsewhere recently/how long has it been since this started? It might be a server-side issue.

I've been able to apply this setting on several phones. Before and after. 2 just today. But with the others it was done through sprints network not WiFi. This was done through WiFi and got stuck. Now I can't get it to reset so I can setting up the subscription properly. I got in contact with Google and all they can tell me is if I'm trying to apply something to a bill I have to use the carrier data not WiFi. And if I accidentally use WiFi and it fails to just back out, disconnect WiFi and enable carrier data and retry. But Google play music is the only service outside of the play store that uses these same methods but can not be undone as instructed. I told them that and I have not gotten a response yet and it's been several days.

Google Play Store problem?

I have a Sprint HTC One, I'm running it rooted and with a custom rom. It used to work fine until about 5-6 days ago my Google Play Store App would not display any apps at all. I would go in and everything would be blank. I've Factory reset phone, wiped phone, I've tried 3 different ROMS and am having the same problem with all 3 (Rage, DigitalKarmaZen, and Stock+Goodies) With Rage I would get just a blank store, Zen and Stock the store immediately closes. I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find a fix. I'm really hoping I can find a fix so I can get the store working again. My phone is S-ON for what that's worth, I don't quite know the difference or if it matters

I'm using TWRP I go into Wipe and go to Advanced and check everything except the last option which says something about USB which I wasn't sure what that was. So I think I'm wiping it properly. I'm not 100% on that though

Thanks for trying
I've done pretty much all the common sense things I can think of. So hopefully someone knows something to help me get it back! Sucks not being able to get apps easily

Hmm. While this isn't the source of your problem, why would you do that? A wipe of cache, dalvik and /system is all you need, I believe.
The basic wipe in TWRP is enough, and all I ever used as a flashaholic.
I tried that at first without the advanced wipe but it didn't work so I figured I'd just try to wipe everything and see if it helped lol

OK. So lemme get this straight. You downloaded a (sense) ROM. You did a full wipe. You flashed it. You booted. You set everything up the way HTC/Google told you to. Then, Play Store wouldn't work?

Correct. It was not instant though. Google Play had been working for a couple weeks and then recently it stopped working.
Looks like the Play Store has me marked as a different country or something?
I did a wipe and reinstalled Rage (The only one I could get to show Google Play store at all), opening up Play Store still no apps showing, but I can search for apps as long as I type exactly what it's called (IE: I can search for facebook but I have to type "Face" and click on the facebook icon once it pops up, otherwise it doesn't allow me to search for apps. And when I click on the app it says "This item isn't available in your country"
I'll try to do some research with this new info but if anyone has any idea on it, some advise would be greatly appreciated
Also I created a brand new GMail account thinking it might have been something to do with my GMail account I was using or something.

That's what I wanted to say, but I thought it so unlikely.
Go to wallet.google.com and check your stuff. Also check in accounts.google.com.

Play Store Error

I have searched and called high and low all over Google and talked to reps. Can't seem to kick this Error Code 403. It is only the paid apps that won't download. Tried all sorts of methods of clearing cache to play store, Google services, Google framework, Uninstall updates, Factory resets, Removing accounts and re adding. Clearing cache in recovery. All with restarting before attempting a redownload on both WiFi and mobile networks. Please someone help. Out of the box it does this to me and it sucks.

Update the latest version of play store.
Did you have multiple Google accounts on your last phone? Make sure you are downloading the app with the same account that you originally made the purchase with. I had multiple accounts on my S3, then when I got my S5 I only put one of the accounts back on and was getting this error for a few apps even though GPlay said "purchased". You might also want to check that the date and time on the phone are correct.

You were absolutely correct. For some reason some of my purchased apps were showing on the wrong account under the all section. It went away after wiping and being careful which account I downloaded from. Thanks for the help guys.

Just use only one account in play store. don't do multiple.

Your issues with Play store, reminds me of 2 x similar incidents, i had with my old Note devices.
Think it was Note 3 and my Note 4. Not sure.
Unfortunately It was a few years back!
eg.
When i tried to download, an apps update etc and
app size was eg 2mb or 5 mb.. etc I struggled to download.Very frustrating!
Eventually after a week or 2, maybe 3.
i was able to pinpoint
the the "suspect"
(Unfortunately i cannot remember clearly ,
but it was either, that i had sideloaded
wrong updated version of Play services apk
(Cleaning Play services cache did not help.)
or it was an Xposed /Xposed model.
(So phone was also rooted)
Anyway ,
i then decided to factory reset and Playstore
was working fine again.
Bottom line is
you can either look for the "suspect"?
causing this.
( I know there was a few threads about similar issues with Playstore, on XDA... way back then ! )
or save yourself from the frustration it's causing?
and try a "clean" Factory reset.!
Good luck
Have you tried cleaing the cache data in the internal storage? That usually helps with this sorta issue.
Tried that not working in either what you said

Is it on wifi or data?
Reset router modem.
Do other apps lag like YouTube or Netflix.
Download speed bad in your area.
Uninstall GP updates and try to reinstall them or apk from web.
Is updating apps through wifi only ?
Clear out all pending updates and restart device.
Do you have another device or friends to see if it's the same problem on theirs too for your region.
Try a different proxy.
Just throwing some ideas around!!
Go into your Google settings and see if you have it to update using wifi only I personally always turn auto updates off.. I had this problem with my Note 8 when I 1st got it. How I fixed it was I went into settings and went to apps and cleared the cache and data on Google play services and playstore and foreclosed them and then went to accounts and removed my Google account and restarted my phone.. when my phone rebooted I went to the playstore and had to login fresh again and that fixed the problem.
I fixed it by factory resetting phone. Thankfully I backed it all up
