I deleted my Rom Manager in an attempt to refresh and install the pro version. I did this by using the force uninstall from TB, which actually did not remove it, but then I did remove it normaly via the TB remove app feature (not force uninstal). Now when I try install the rom, it will not load. I do not get any errors when I try to install it. It is just is not there / cant be seen by any app or in a directory. Any suggestions on how to fix this??? Are there any alternative apps???
Just fyi - I am also unable to install the latest CM7 version. It gets to the CM7 boot screen, but hangs on it ofr more than an hour with no progress. Just fro clarification, I have since reloaded the latest CM6 version, to see if Rom Manager would install, but it still wouldn't.
Current phone is a Sprint Hero, running the latest CM6 Version.
when you reloaded CM6, did you restore a backup or did you wipe everything and reload a fresh image?
I had a problem using ROM Mgr when I tried to flash the recovery. Ended up it wouldn't boot into recovery and after that it wouldn't flash the recovery anymore. I was able to flash the alternate ra recovery, wipe factory data/cache & davlik cache, reload clean CM6.1 with latest gapps. Still the ROM Mgr was goofy. I used the fix permissions tool in ROM Mgr and it finally allowed me to flash the CWM recovery (2.5.0.7) successfully and reboot into recovery mode. Maybe the fix permissions or making sure everything (besides your SD card) is wiped would help? Or, try using the ra recovery to load your CM7 image (not sure if that is supported).

You need to do a full wipe of absolutely everything and then update your recovery image. Do a fresh download(try from a mirror) of the latest CM7 version. Make sure that everything is fully wiped and you wipe your system, cache, data and davlik-cache. Do the wipe TWICE.
Once you are flashing CM7, make sure you only flash the rom first and then boot up and see if it goes through.
Thanks for the info, Waffle_.. So to just clarify... I need to:
1. wipe everything twice
2. get a fresh download of cm7
3. then install cm7
What do you mean by "Once you are flashing CM7, make sure you only flash the rom first" -- Like make sure it boots up before installing anything else????
Thanks!

Yes.
Meaning, when you flash the rom, don't flash gapps or anything else. Flash the rom only, then reboot and make sure it runs. And then you can go back and flash gapps, etc.
I have CWM 4.00.15 installed and I tried to install Ryyu's Rom (Wipe) by putting it on the SD card and rebooting into recovery, then selecting the zip file and hitting apply. When the installation tried to update my kernel, it just froze and rebooted. I was then stuck on a boot loop between the Galaxy S screen and the CyanogenMod boot screen. I know that Ryyu's did not install correctly because the CyanogenMod boot screen was still there. I had to use 3 button recovery and erase cache, davlik cache and user data before trying to install AOSP Essence, but same problem happened. Installation dies and phone keeps rebooting in loops. Finally, gave up and went back to CyanogenMod Nightly and it worked.
Why can't I seem to install any other ROMs besides Cyanogen? I know I am doing something wrong, but not sure what. Any advice/help appreciated. Thanks.
Have you tried starting from a clean install?
Try starting with a stock rom and then to activate Cwm flash a modded Kernel.

Hi,
this is what I initially did to get Cyanogen on:
1. Used Superoneclick root to root phone
2. Check that 3 button recovery and download mode works. Recovery version was 3e, so installed superlagfix from android market. This automatically installed ClockworkMod Recovery as well.
3. Use CWM and flashed recovery for Samsung Galaxy S i9000
4. Reboot into recovery and select the CyanogenMod zip file and click apply to install.
To install subsequent ROMs, I just put the zip file on my SD card, reboot into recovery and repeat step 4 above, after clearing cache and user data. It is after that I get stuck on boot loops.
I did do a Nandroid backup before my initial Cyanogen install so I can go back and restore it, but it would be Froyo.
when coming from CM / MIUI - Samsung based ROM
you MUST flash a 3 file firmware with pit and re-partition.
Cyanogen and MIUI use different partitions than samsung ROMs so this is why you are having issues.
Ok, just managed to flash Darky's EE 10.2 using Odin. Not sure if Odin is the ideal way, but it worked. Really enjoying Darky's. Thanks folks!
Hi... i'm from spain and i have several problems with the english,... so sorry.
I have an "orange spain" milestone since 1'5 years. Two months ago, i had a problem with the screen. I sent the phone to technical service. 15 days later I received the phone. They say my phone is not repairable, and send me a refurbished one.
When I tried to enter the bootloader, the phone froze. I sent it back for repair, not being able to access the bootloader.
Two weeks later I received the phone, and I enter the bootloader. Start the installation of a custom rom. The installation seems correct, but when I restart the milestone, it starts a loop.
In short, ... I can not install custom rom after sending my phone to qualified service personnel.
Currently, I have installed one of G.O.T. sbf
Any solution?
Sorry for my bad English
Tell us the bootloader version.
Version 90.78... thanks
Well... i'm trying to install Ho!No! using a nandroid backup.
If i install it, without wipes, the phone reboot correctly, but, when i entry in settings menu, the phone freezes and reboot. In the reboot, is freezes in the motorola "M".
If i restore the backup, and apply all the wipes, it not start, rebooting again and again in the "M"...
What can i do?

GOT 2.2 uses 2.1 kernel, you have to install leaked or any official 2.2 stock rom sbf in order to install any recent custom ROM.
If i install any official 2.2 sbf, i can't enter to the open recovery to install the custom rom.
What leaked rom can use?
After you installed an official 2.2 sbf you have to apply the vulnerable recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=698059
im using motrola milstone a853 my friends mobile when i took wit him it was rooted and running cm7 i flashed Singapore froyo sbf rom and wana install custom recovery flashed sbf recovery when i try to in stall recovery from sd card it shows installing update veryfing update package and cant find update binary and rebbots to stock recovery again i tryd minimod by fufu openrecovery .etc
If I understand you, you'd like to install a custom recovery, right? If thats what you want, then you need the original vulnerable recovery (which might been overwritten when you flashed the stock froyo rom) first. Follow THIS guide and it has anything you need.
Hi, have a rooted P990, did manage to install MIUI but wants Cyanogenmod. The only Cyanogenmod i can install is with the Progmaq-default-cm10 But i cant get into recovery after that install. If i use AIO and do a repartition and delete all then i can install CWM or TWR recovery, but i cant install ROM from any of them. TWR say that there isnt any OS on phone, CWM only goea back into recovery when reboot. Should i install the boot.img file on the phone, if yes, how do i do it?
What does CWM say after you installed a ROM, is there any error message?
Are you using old or new bootloader? Did you make sure to use a ROM that is suitable for your bootloader? You can use AIO to change the bootloader type.
