I was trying to restore my phone to previous state using Rom Manager. Phone restarted in recovery mode, formatted the boot partition and failed to restore. I applied existing of CWM ROM update.zip and snce then my phone restarts in Recovery mode everytime.
I tried one click restore using ODIN, Heimdall nothing worked. recreated the partitions wiped everything, loaded stock ROM but still the phone boots up in recovery mode.
Please suggest some pointers on how to troubleshoot this problem.

Files for my Nexsus S. I ended up wiping everything and flashed all the image files with TRWP cause CWR wouldn't work
for the stock ICS and and it worked fine. Now I'm running the 4.1.1 jellybean it sweet.Hope this helps.

Yes the one click package for installing Stock ROM. it did repartitioning, wiped all data, loaded everything successfully. but after booting it shows up the recovery screen.

Hmmm... i've heard of cases where the power button on the captivate refuses to be 'unpressed' which makes it boots up just by plugging in the battery,
Maybe it's like that with your volume buttons?
Does it feels a little bit weird like it doesn't click when you press it?

The buttons seem to be normal. I tried keytest and the results look fine
Volume Up : 115
Volume Down : 114

Moreover I can access recovery and flash any ROM that I have on SDCard. Funny part whenever I flash a new ROM I see a new recovery
Do you know of anyway use ADB without booting phone and putting it in debugging mode?
Thanks for your inputs.
Update: Issue is resolved
I'm not sure on exactly what worked. Using System Corps Recovery, I changed all the partitions to ext4. Made some random changes to toggles during boot. Restarted in download mode and flashed a one click stock rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18370912&postcount=3
it booted in recovery, then clicked on Flash Bootloader in one click and restarted the phone in download mode and flashed it again with the same ROM.
Thats it. I feel that Bootloader did the trick, but I had it flashed earlier as well.
Thanks irfarf & Sammyazel for your inputs on this.

congrats!!
i do also think that it was the boot loader is the problem here
i had a few problem with my friends cappy won't go into download mode and whenever it boots up, it shows a bunch of random colors than a boot image. turns out that the last bootloader flash wasn't done correctly or something.
Confirmed - the problem is with the bootloader. Once I flashed an original firmware from Samsung, I was then able to install CWM and any ROM I wish after that. Not sure what caused the problem, but this was the solution in my case. Thanks to everyone who pointed me in the right direction!!!

Try running the keytest from recovery mode to ensure all the keys are working fine.
In my case it was corrupt bootloader that caused this issue. you can try flashing stock ROM with bootloaders to fix it.
All the best!

What exactly did you do to get to this point?
You can find Odin KK4 with bootloaders here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18370912&postcount=3
You will need to flash corn kernel with Odin 1.85 afterwards if you wanna flash a custom ROM.

I see. The Overcome thread also has the CWM Recovery as a .zip file which is flashable through Stock Recovery (same procedure as flashing Root). You just put the file in your internal SDcard and flash away. If you still have doubts, read a little bit here, as I'm sure that will clear any doubts you might have.

Don't expect perfection from a port, ever (port = a ROM that's not native to the device). The motley kernel, along with UV can help you in the battery department.

The way I try to access the download menu is

4. when the reaching the menu between recovery and dowloading. Select dowloading with the down volume button and validate with the up volume button.

So I have tried reflashing the stock US retail ROM and ran the EULA3 OTA update over it. I can't seem to figure this out.
The OTA update entered the download mode for a few seconds during the update so I am wondering if I don't simply have a locked bootloader.

I have had my i9305t rooted with CWM since day one, and it has always worked fine. Today I saw there was an AOKP build 5 available for the i9305, and stupidly I tried to flash it, forgetting I needed a specific local version. It didn't even try to install, because CWM recognised it was for the wrong version phone, so I restored the backup file I'd made with CWM. It said there was an MD5 mismatch, but it booted back up fine and I could set up the phone again, however it had reset to base. So I rebooted, got into recovery again, did a factory reset, wiped cache and dalvik, tried to restore again... no difference.
Not sure exactly when it happened, but I tried to boot into recovery again and it hung on the 'Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9305T' splash screen. So I turned it off and it booted up into Android again as per normal. In an attempt to fix recovery (at this stage I was considering just reflashing the stock rom), I downloaded CWM off the play store and used the 'Flash CWM recovery' option. It said it succeeded, so I tried booting into recovery again but it hung on the splash screen once again. So I turned it off, tried to boot normally into Android again, but it hung on the splash screen again!
Now it doesn't matter what I do, trying to boot into recovery or Android it gets stuck on that damned splash screen! I tried pulling out the battery and leaving it out for a good ten minutes, plugging it back in and booting it up, but again it gets stuck. If I leave it on the splash screen, there it will stay. It doesn't pulse, it doesn't move, it doesn't reset, it just hangs there indefinitely.
Please help! Is there anything I can do to recover it, or have I just got myself an expensive paperweight?

Dude, reflashing your phone should work. As long as SW mode is still accessible, your phone isn't dead yet. Follow the instructions on this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35971349 Be freaking sure all necessary drivers are properly installed.
Or you can put your phone in recovery mode (power + vol +) and reinstall the stock rom using recovery LG tools providing your Internet connection is fast and stable

hey dude, i have flashed 7 times exactly since this morning only. and i have gotten that error 3 times of those 7. so it should not be a problem
Thanks!
After a few attempts, was able to go to the s/w upgrade mode.. (power + vol(-) )
Reflashed .kdz and it's all good.. (had to root again)
Actually, i was freaked out more coz it's my new phone and i didn't find others with the problem..
I hope that this thread would help if anyone faces a similar problem in the future..
Thanks for the prompt response, guys!

So if I understood you right, you tried to install CWM without unlocking your boot loader? So now you got a boot image error? I'd suggest to try LG Mobile Support Tool and flash V20A/V20B and then unlock Boot loader. I have reinstalled the drivers for my device, but the installation failed again.
What can I do else? :/
Yesterday I installed a custom ROM CM11 and also gapps and kernel. After reboot, it shows the logo but after that the device suddenly turned off. Then it can't be turned on at all. But fortunately when I connect to the charger/laptop I can enter download mode, but can't enter recovery mode. So I try to flash the stock firmware and success. But unfortunately, after reboot, it shows the logo but after that the device suddenly turned off. And if I disconnect the cable, the device can't be turned on. Any solution?

Yesterday I installed a custom ROM CM11 and also gapps and kernel. After reboot, it shows the logo but after that the device suddenly turned off. Then it can't be turned on at all. But fortunately when I connect to the charger/laptop I can enter download mode, but can't enter recovery mode. So I try to flash the stock firmware and success. But unfortunately, after reboot, it shows the logo but after that the device suddenly turned off. And if I disconnect the cable, the device can't be turned on. Any solution?

ROM: cm-11-v5.5-4.4.4-i9305.zip <- I get it from chinese forum romjd.com
Kernel: i9305-HboKernel-0.2a-20141007
stock firmware: I9305XXUEML8_I9305OLBEML6_I9305XXUEMK1_HOME.tar.md5
maybe it is because of the wrong kernel I've installed.Isn't it?
That kernel and for stock 4.4.4

successfully flash firmware I9305XXUFNI3_I9305DBTFNI3_DBT via Odin. But after reboot,it shows boot splash and after that the device suddenly shuts down. but sometimes it shows the 3D Android logo loading for a while, but suddenly it shuts down. I'm afraid it is the hardware issue..

You could try flashing CWM to see if that brings your recovery back, but apart from that, I'm not really sure what you can do. It's possible that you damaged your partition table and so need to repartition your phone using a PIT file. I haven't done it though so you'll have to ask someone else how.

Iv'e just "played" with pit file provided in some forum. I tried to flash it via odin, and it's failed, but it doesn't change anything.
Finally I can enter Philz recovery.but I get the new error while I do the factory reset: Error mounting /data
Any solution for that?

Format /data and /data/media. Doing this will completely wipe the personal storage of your phone though.

Also wiping Dalvik Cache and /cache wouldn't hurt.
So basically go to recovery and wipe:
/data
/data/media
/cache
And Dalvik Cache
Also see if you can repair /data.
Hope this helps![emoji3]

Hi mate,if I understand correctly you have flashed CWM.If you can get into recovery mode, you will probably have to try this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/how-to-fix-efailed-to-mount-efs-invalid-t2858056
You have to read it with great attention and apply the steps.Good luck!

I have try to root with odin and cf autoroot and all work fine, then I have installed twrp for 815 5.0.2 version. After the installation the tablet restart on recovery mode, I try to make a backup and twrp works good but at the restart the tablet is in bootloop.
I can’t shut down. I can only access download mode and not recovery mode.
I have flashed the original firmware with odin and odin says PASS but at the restart it is bootloop again. I try to flash twrp again and odin says PASS, after this I can read on the start screen (the only one I can see) “recovery is not nandroid enforced”. I tried different firmware but nothing work.
Someone can help me?

Boot into recovery POWER +HOME +VOL DOWN then as soon as the screen goes blank immediately change to VOL UP whilst still holding the other buttons.
Wipe data. If that doesn't work then factory reset.
Thanks for the answer. I try more than 100 time but it don't go in recovery mode. I tried to complete discharging and then recharging with the buttons pushed. Nothing. Every time it's stuck in the start screen and i can't shut down.

Not possible.
Try booting to Download mode then hit CANCEL then immediately hold HOME + VOL DOWN + POWER make sure you hold the buttons in that order and you must be quick.

Hi All!
I would like to share with you how I fix the preblem after root of my T815.
After long night and reading whole net I found the solution.
As you I also wants to root my device because of availible only one user. I wanted to have multiusers. So folowing the instructions downloading all software and after root I got bootloop. Trying everithing but no success. I wasn't able to flash even some of the stock ROMs.
Solution:
I found in Sammobile what is my current ROM and downloaded it. Then flash - no any problems. Went smooth. Then I root the device... and now I have rooted device with multiuser support.
It seems that after fresh flash everithing is OK. It seems that after you playing with your device for a while you enabled some options thats make your device to loop after root.
I wish you Happy New Year!
Nikog
Whoops sorry, I completely forgot to come back to you about this!
Glad you got it sorted.

It was a late night for me last night and working late again tonight.
If I get the opportunity after work I'll get something up, but if not it may be tomorrow on my day off.
