From what I had read, this is a pre-order, so they probably haven't taken a picture with the Nexus 7 yet.
I have attempted to make contact with the maker to see if I can get a more recent photo with the N7 instead of the Kindle Fire.
They have not responded yet.

Rev, please keep us posted. Looks like a good non-bulky case.
They keep changing the price... I pre-ordered that exact case when it was $4.99+ free shipping and expected to ship on August 3rd. The other day it was $8.99 and $5 shipping, and now it's $6.95+ $5 shipping and not expected to ship until August 15th! I might have to cancel the order though, I can't wait that long to get a case.

Surprisingly, mine came last week. I haven't had a chance to do any sort of review (urghh college!!) but I'll be looking forward to your review. I agree, it's definitely worth the money.

I have this argument all of the time with a friend of mine.
I got the Blurex brand version of this on Amazon. At the time it was $7.26 shipped. Differences are stylus loop, flap strap and hand strap.

English is made up of made up words all the time, enough people use it, it gets incorporated into it's vocabulary eventually.
Example; okay, o.k. aka oll korrect... It's not a "word", although it's used world wide and has an accepted meaning..

I would stay away from ROO cases. I had one for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 white and it left two marks on the back of it, where it seemed to have rubbed the finish off.

Shame they got shipped and delivered to the UK first yet there are very few accessories released here yet. Will be a while until we have a genuine leather case with the 'smart' magnetic bit.

I say patience is a virtue. We all know the tablet for what it is. You either like it or you don't. Most of us have already pre--ordered and are waiting for them to arrive right now.
As far as the caes go, I'd rather feel what they're like in my hand. Via pictures of cases online, 10 look great for ipad and other devices, however only 1-2 actually feel and function as nice as they seem to be described and pictured online.(not cheap feeling, or feeling like they'l literally fall apart, lacking features cleverly not pictured, etc.

For me none of the cover/cases on Amazon (I was at the local Best Buy to take a look at 7" stuff) are aesthetically pleasing. I ordered a "padded pouch" off Etsy.com and I'm gonna get a sturdy "case" when one becomes available.

I would love to see Speck make a Nexus 7 FitFolio Case so I have submitted a request to do so, if you like the idea please go vote for it as per there feedback email the more votes they get the more likely they will be to build the case.
Here is an example of there current FitFolio for Kindle Fire which I would like them to model the Nexus 7 after.
I'm looking forward to this too. Speck already confirmed via Twitter that they are making it!

Really this is what I got from there team when I emailed them last night:

It looks quite difficult (read: impossible) to press the physical buttons on the kindle fire version, and with the nexus 7 having the buttons on an angle, it seems like it would be MORE impossible on a model fit for the N7. I do hope they do something about that before releasing one, but I agree that I would definitely hunt one down if they made one
Man, I would get it too. Too bad I ordered the TreeGloo case already . It's not coming til Early August. This Speck one if made, would come even later though..
I'd be all over that in red. I'm gonna have more backup cases than I know what to do with I think. Everytime I buy one something else comes out that I want. Fortunately neither I have bought have cost very much.

I think they would have to include two different magnets for that since the screen sensor is right above the pogo pins and in order to keep it closed you would want another one on the far side of the tablet at the edge of the cover. It could be done but I doubt they will go that route.

Not to hijack the thread. Just a question for everyone. It has probably been discussed elsewhere but you all seem interested on the topic. I know people have discussed if Google was in violation of crapple's patent for the smart cover. Do you ever wonder if Google decided to launch the device without a smart cover in order to not draw attention to it to avoid a lawsuit knowing others would make accessories utilizing it? They could claim it was for a dock or something.
I know this is a stretch, but how else do you explain such a pointless accessory? Also I know the Apple patent was very specific to the actual smart cover and that Google will be fine.

the cover doesn't stay closed. if you drop it and the cover is open, the screen is going to get damaged.

I dont want it to stand up. I know its not a smart cover.
I want a thin case with a cover for the screen.
Seems like it should work for me.
Also I currently have a leather case that is smart and fits perfectly in.... but I want it thinner.... And I can't get the "looks like a 15 year old nokia case" out of my head.:laugh:
The rubber rounds the edges and raises the screen. Good enough for setting it down and providing some defense from casual tumbles from the bed or couch. I don't want a smart cover, I use a password every time and the button is right there. Why do people always find stuff to complain about, instead of ways to enjoy what you just bought. There will always be something better, find what works for you.

I like it.. But i tend to put my tablet down on random surfaces so i need a back cover as well
Most of the other cases are better thats just covers the screen and is more expensive but it would be nice if google could release a good hard case

Mine came to $38 with shipping and tax (FL).
I always buy the cheap crap and really want a official case, loved it in The Verge review and have waited for the Scarlet one since I saw it... I also hate my Moko Ultra slim because of the back cover, I want a minimal case

Its unreal how long it took for this to come out. What excuse can there possibly be for a 6 month delay on the first official accessory? So strange to me. Looks decent though.

Ordered the scarlet one too. I'll post some pictures when it arrives. Including shipping to Germany it came 35,98 €. Compared to eg official Samsung covers it really isn't that expensive. The thing i wonder is, if we may see some more accesoires in the near future (dock perhaps)? Hopefully Google has something more to come...

I like the concept of not covering the back, but I agree it should fold. It´s seems prety rigid, making it even somewhat uncorfortable to hold the tablet. I will wait for some reviews and photos around here.

Same here, its a crap design for $30. I'm going to stick with the poetic case. Id prefer something that just covered the front (im not clumsy) because the tablet is so thin and light and then folds into a stand but this isnt it.

I'm coming from a G3 with an Incipio case on it and side by side the overall size is almost identical so getting used to the size won't be a problem. The 6p and the Moto X Pure while nice are just too big for the way I use my device.
Now I just need a phone, F5 F5 F5 F5...........

Phone came today along with this case. FYI for anyone thinking of purchasing this case..... Don't. The outer bezel of the case is loose and makes it unusable. Thought maybe I just got a bad one, but look at the reviews on amazon, all having the same issue. It's a shame because this is a really nice looking case. Glad I only paid $2 for this.
