I have a problem viewing Arabic messages that I receive from my operator (Vodafone Egypt). I don't mean normal text messages, I mean the messages that pop up after a call or when I execute USSD code.
The messages appear in numbers instead of Arabic letters, like this:

This problem exists in every CM ROM I tried, they have perfect Arabic and RTL support but this issue is really annoying.
I really hope someone can help me with this.

I think this is a problem in cm roms because I have it too but here in KSA I read my operator msgs in English so no problem
The issue could be the translator of CM has mismatched language encoding

A KANGer is someone like temasek. He has the ability to compile but no ability to fix bugs. he uses cherry picks(Commits to CM7 For eg) which are not used in the official CM version. maybe useless picks like the operator stuff could be left out

Ok so MIUI is now open source well parts of it including framework etc,its only the gingerbread branch at the moment. the only problem is, all the infomation and the website is in Chinese it needs translating, ill post various links to information as soon as I get access to my laptop... to much hastle to do it on my phone.
Meanwhile Google and xda are your friend.

That is a porting guide its different, the framework and certain apps from miui are open source as from today... no need to port the framework. It can be built from source.

Maybe the miui team will not provide roms for new devices any more bacause they already opened up its source and relevant documents.

I guess KoolSavas95 was trying to port it,I have tested the beta version he PM me,It needed some heavy resizing.Has it been re sized to ldpi ?
It's booting right now, but the boot animation nearly burned my eyes out.

Okay, it's booted and well...I like it!
Just a couple of issues:
The notification pulldown handle's right half is transparent
In the settings the "Personal" tab is too big
The long-press-home recent apps needs resizing
When you select the "dropdown lockscreen", your phone will reboot and will bootloop from then on out, untill you do a data wipe.
There's probably more, but I need to check it more

ROM is Great..bugs is the same as cm10.1..so if there is a bug on cm10.1,there is the same bug on mokee..
but in last release is very smooth,stable..not much battery drain..so it's good..
