[Q]Some problems about ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0 - LG Optimus 2x

Hello , recently I tried flash my kernel , when I did it my phone didnt recognize my sim card
Later , when i tried come back my recovery said:
E:Cant mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Cant open /cache/recovery/log
E:Cant mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Cant open /cache/recovery/last_log
... I tried format sd card but it nothing happened. What i can do?:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
PD: I have lg optimus 2x , vodafone , Spain
Pd: I read my sd card is corrupted but when i introduce my sd card in my pc it read it .(I FORMAT MY SD CARD IN MY PC )

It will be good to read [RECOVERY] CWM-based Recovery 5.0.2.8 for Internal & External SD Cards, if you already haven`t, and ask there if you have not find your answer by reading first.
Then, it will be nice to provide some more info, to get better answer.
What rom/kernel? Can you boot into your android? Or just in logo screen? Can you flash other things with cwm? Cwm backups on internal or external sd?
As you haven`t provide much info, I will write some general things.
First, try wiping cache in cwm and see if it works now.
If not, try to perform other mount/unmount/format in cwm. You should also try to install latest cwm from the link above (espesially if you have instaled current cwm with Rom Manager).
If none of this work, you will must try with nvflash/smartflash.
See this ROM] NVFlash Opti-3D v-1.4.4 V20s Stock GB Clean CWM | UNBRICK
This if you can`t boot. If you can boot, it is possible that it was a bad backup. Just flash another rom.
P.S. I have this kind of errors often (due to lot of flashing), wiping cache, and rarely data, have solved problems almost always. Or formatting my sd and putting backup folder back on it. However, few times it was a soft brick and nvflash was needed.
Hope it helps.

Thank you very much, i use NVFlash ,i could repared my phone
Well i want chance my kernel , how i install another kernel? Do i need only install .Zip with recovery? What kernel is the best if i want OC?

Dear Dasavi
best kernel depends on how you want your phone to perform.
My recommendation is that you purchase the PRO edition of CWM and try out different combinations of ROMS and kernels, both GB and ICS based. With the PRO version, flashing new ROMS and kernels is a real breeze. With GetRIL you can make sure your radios perform optimal.
In the process, make sure you read what our talented developers have written about their ROMs and how to make them perform best.
I use the NOVA HD 1.1.0 with the NOVA kernel 3.0.36 pure edition. They work together like magic.
I also use Wajks WIUI 2.5.25. It is android 2.3.7 (GB). Very nice design, with working video recorder.
Baseline is: Read, read, read, try, try and then ask.
Modding is fun!!

[Q] CWM internal SD card, cant restore

HI guys!
I want to flash cm7 to my new p990 but for some reason the SD card I used in my old phone wont mount. "Alright no problem, ill just use the INTERNAL sd card." Probably not the best idea.
Phone is rooted, installed rom manager and flashed CWM 5.0.2.0.
I tried to back up my stock image to the SD card but CWM wont mount the SD card, and I cant choose internal. I managed to do a nandroid back in CWM, but I had to choose where to put it in ROM MANAGER. All went well. Flashed CM to the phone. Now im on CM and got a hold of ROM MANAGER again and I want to flash the stock rom back.
The thing is, this time rom manager doesn't recognize my internal SD card either, and neither will CWM. Any way to flash the new CWM 5.0.2.3 through CWM?
CWM 5.0.2.3 supposedly fixes my issue but I have a feeling i cant do it that way.
Any help would be appreciated

You don't need anything fancy to install 5.0.2.3 (which I suppose you meant to write.) Just download the latest here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098745 and choose which version you want to install, external or internal, which in your case seems to be internal.
That should put you right where you want to restore the backup from your internal card.
EDIT: Oh, and remember to turn the phone completely off instead of just rebooting, to get your sdcard mounted again (could be that's all you need to do.)
EDIT2: I've never used ROM Manager to backup, but if it gives you the opportunity to put backups somewhere else than the root of the card (your post seems to imply this), use a file manager to move the backup to the root of the card before rebooting into CWM.
Thats what I want to do. But I need a way of installing it. CWM cant flash over itself, cant it? And I cant get rom manager to do it either.
EDIT: LOL, im a RETARD!!
All the files I need to flash it through ADB are all there in the download...
Thx again man!!

You don't have access to a computer? You need a computer to install another version of CWM. (Well, there are other ways, but it's much easier from a PC.)
Again, thank you so much!

5.0.2.0 is compatible with 5.0.2.3 right?
After restoring it wont boot. Restoring again now.

EDIT: sd-ext.img not found. Skipping restore of /sd-ext.
Does it matter?

You may have to convert your partitions back to ext3 before restoring with this CWM-installable script http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=720818&d=1316120010. (CWM 5.0.2.3 should in theory do it for you, but I've never gotten it to work.). Mount your sdcard from within CWM, copy it from PC to card, then install it.
No, the sd-ext message does not matter.
Does this format my entire phone with backups and all or does it just convert it?
Did my filesystem go over to ext4 when i installed CM7?

It formats the /system, /data and /cache partitions, but doesn't touch your sd-cards, so your backup is safe.
Yes, the latest versions of CM7 use ext4 for /system

It depends on what I'm doing. Right now I'm on MCR GR3. I frequently flash back to stock 2.2.2 to check if the app I'm currently making works as expected, and sometimes I flash CM7 to test some specific features there.
If you're asking what I'd recommend I'd say go with MCR GR3 when the prebake comes out, or Topogigi 1.8 which will be based on said prebake.
Hmmm. okay, thanks
I kinda like the stock rom but I would like the overclocking and possibly undervolting that aditional roms have. The battery time I had on cm7 was SICK. I fear I wont get that on the stock rom. Im having a try at topogigi v1.7, but I having some problems. Like, can I use ur baseband switcher app to change the baseband I have, and is it necessary? tried flashing it without flashing new baseband (cuz I dont know how ) and then it just bootlooped.
Ill check out MCR GR3

Slight misunderstanding here, it's not a baseband-switcher, for that you need to go through the whole smartflash-dance again. It allows you to install a different ril, that's all.

Topogigi 1.7 works fine without a new baseband, but not all phones can boot with the undervolt of the default kernel. (He has an optional kernel with stock voltages available which probably will fix the bootloop for you.)
Ill check out MCR GR3

The prebaked version isn't ready yet, but will likely be very soon. I expect Topogigi to release 1.8 not long after that.

If you had backup the original rom, just restore it with cwm
Or
Search smartflash on google. Download it with the basebands etc and flash it. Just search it and you will find the steps.

Why not flash CM7? Everything is working and the rom is very fast and stable.
Try temasek's builds, I never had any problem with his builds (no OC).
Just boot CWM, make a full wipe and flash the ROM.

no you cannot just restore to original rom, cause it uses different file type cm9 ext4 but stock rom ext3. you should flash back to ext3 which wipe your internal sdcard, so you should backup. after you can use nvflash or kdz updater to install stock rom.

normally you shouldn't need to go back to ext3 when using NVFlash because NVFlash recreates all partitions before flashing the firmware
working
Follow the guide step by step...
Pull the battery push volume down and connect phone to your computer - now it says S/W Update please wait - and if everything (all the drivers) are installed correctly the Smartflash/LG Updater should see the phone and you can begin flashing.
If you phone isn’t seen by the software almost probably the driver isn’t correct.

I have two zips of baseband (823-V21b-Baseband.zip, 824-V20f-Baseband.zip) that I want to try to install it in my phone. There are in the sd card (it works perfect in Android).
It's rare: in other phone, LG Optimus Sol I can access to sd card when I click in 'install zip in sdcard', but I can't do it in LG 2x Optimus now
You can't install basebands using CWM. You need Smartflash for that. I believe there's a sticky thread at the Development section about that.

[Q] Stuck in CWM 5.0.2.6 Recovery - Flashing ROMS doesn't work

Hey,
I am trying to fix a friends optimus black. He has CWM recovery installed but when I flash ROMs then reboot system, it just boots straight back to the recovery. Is there anything I am doing wrong? I have tried 3 different ROMs from the dev section, ICS, GB and JB. I make sure to do a full wipe between flashing.
Many thanks, as I don't have much experience with this phone. (Although I have many years experience with flashing android roms)

What do you need? Some ROMs to flash? Find links to kdz files in post 3. Extract and root it yourself (also see post 3 on my how to).
might be redundant saying this but in cwm itself have you flashed the 6.0.1.4 update within itself ald?

Hi, none of those ROMS booted. However, I did find a 'G2X' ROM running Android 2.3.3 that could be installed using 'NVflash'. This does work.
I really do want an ICS ROM on there though.
Yes, I install CWM using 'Superoneclick' and then factory reset/wipe the device before trying to install the custom rom and gapps zip via the SD card.
Is it worth trying CWM 5.0.2.7 or 5.0.2.8? Please can you provide instructions on how to do this as superoneclick just puts the cwm it has built in (I think).
Sorry, i've not done this sort of thing many times so am quite new to it all.
