Hello everyone. I've tested a log of roms lately, and almost all removed other languages except English and Spanish. It seems, just to decrease a big 8 mb of space ¬¬
Unfortunately, a lot of people still doesn't know very well other languages (my english still bad, but i can comunicate sometimes). So... i'll not gonna ask to get those language packs again in those ROMs, but upload the original language packs (Portuguese Brazil, Japan, whatever...) All it was originally found in STOCK ROM.
That could be possible to do?
Right now, i need these language pack for Motorola Milestone 3 XT862/XT860.

I don't know if this will work but look in the stock rom in /system/tts/lang_pico
I'm running ics so I'm not sure if gb roms will be the same. But looking at mine the file names appear to be languages. Try dropping these into your rom of choice the same way you did to port it to the xt860. It might not work, but worth a shot

I'm still confused by android and language.
I have a verizon XT862 that I use in Holland. I've set it to country: holland and language: english. This works fine.
When I press the mic key in my homescreen, it uses dutch voice recognition (which works flawlessly btw). However if I try to use it in any other app it says: current language does not support voice dictation.
Others here CAN use dutch voice dictation
but why does anyone take out the multilanguage support if it's only 8mb?!?!!??!?!

That's EXACTLY what i do think too.
It's very stupid in my opinion.
I do it for Polish users, but its not that easy as you think
motorola make a blur "rom" only with es and en lang.
In all aplication ( system, framework, phone, camera , browser and rest ) there a file with lang.
And when you decompile someone (by using apktool) you will find a files with
only with EN and ES and its no possibility to add other lang there.
it is not a simple one 8mb file with all words what is includet in rom
for example to translate only Settings you must translate 1875 lines of text

That's strange... How my STOCK ROM of Motorola XT860 have English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Portuguese Brazil?
And I don't mind to translate, but your info seems wrong to me. MIUI and CyanogemMOD for Defy have ALL languages, and those roms is only in China/United States.
Stock rom for XT860 have that lang make by motorola. I spoke about XT862
MIUI is created on CM7 (CM7 is not a ROM based on motorola orginal software 890 / 905 / 906 etc)
But all customs rom for D3 (without ICS roms) is created on stock motorola rom and this is a problem, btw on translating CM7 works a lot of people.
Ok... So, there is a way to translate, right?
How do i do that?
The best way on start is pull out Settings.apk from system/app folder
Decompile it with APKTOOL, and find in decompiled apk open and translate to your lang. below file
settings/res/values/strings.xml
Also you make download CM7 and pull out that same Settings.apk and also decompile and find there strings.xml with your Lang. and do a COPY / PASTE
But you can't replace strings.xml with your lang. from CM7 with this one from motoblur or other rom created on motoblur becuse this files do not have identical content, so you must copy line by line.
When you done again you must use a APKTOOL to Compile a new Settings.apk
ps. pull out your Settings.apk file and host it somewhere and give me link, also tell me what lang you need i make try to do it for you.

Settings.apk from your current rom, or you make wrote what rom you use and i download it by myself.
I've found how to decompile apk files... I'll study it and translate.

Now if you install a more locale 2 from market you make have all app with lang. as you need but ... menu in phone was possible only in EN or ES.

Dear Nexus S MIUI Community, I have announcement to make:
I can't continue to work on my MIUI ROM and will probably not publishing or releasing any MIUI ROMs in the future. If I get more free time, I will reconsider my decision.
But, I'm not leaving you just like that. In the last few weeks I was also working on my tweaks and have come to the state where I can't get them even better then they are.
Today I'm gonna release a compilation of my tweaks for the MIUI ROM as a flashable zip file that can be applied on ANY MIUI ROM.
I hope that in the future you'll get another MIUI Dev.
I want to say Thanks to all of you for your support and that you've used my MIUI ROM.
To the MIUI DEVs:
If some of Devs want to use my Tweaks on they're MIUI ROMs you are free to do so.
But you can't just take the scripts and put them in the ini.t folder of your ROM, because they wont work.
You need to activate the init.t scripts support in the RAMDisk and you need to have a proper Busybox version installed.
None of these two conditions are present on the current MIUI ICS Releases for the Nexus S.
You need to do this manually every time when you make a new MIUI Release. The custom kernels like Matr1x ot GlaDOS scripts for enabling the init.d support DON'T work on MIUI ICS.
Installation:
- Full wipe is needed! System, Boot, Cache, Data partitions.
What is this about?
I am modder and tweaker that likes the MIUI ROM. I didn't compile the ROM, I am using the compiled ROM as a base for my tweaks. In fact, only MIUI China can compile ROMs as they have the source code.
This is what you get:
ROM is themed, rooted, deodexed, zip aligned, optimized, full of tweaks (LibSQLite tweaks, EXT4 tweaks for reduction of CPU cycles, RAM Optimization - very smooth UI with no redraws, faster GPS Lock, ADFree hosts - more then 25.000 pages blocked, custom Bootscreen, 4-Way Reboot, skip volume track, USB Debugging notification disabled, ... and, and, and).
Languages:
Bulgarian, Catalonian, Czech, Chinese (simple), Chinese (Traditional), Croatian, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Latvian, Netherland, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovenian, Slovakian, Spanish, Suomi, Swedish, Tagalog, Turkish, Ukrainian, and few other languages.

1. How to remove the Provider text from the status bar?
Since the Extended settings are not working on my ROM, here is a small "How to" for the tweak.
Go to Settings > Network Settings > Access Point Names. Click on your default APN. Scroll down until you see MCC and MNC number:
That is my default APN. The MCC number is 262 and MNC number is 07. Write them down.
In RootExplorer open the /system/etc/spn-conf.xml file.
This is how mine looks like:

Edit the "numeric" value with MCC+MNC number. In my case 262 and 07.

About Italian language - adding other languages is very time consuming. Per release 4 to 5 hours. If enough people say that they would to have another languages beside English and German - I may think about it.
You can also suggest some tweaks - or useful apps and tools, or post a link to them. I might consider including them.
May you plz add the traditional chinese language back??

this here looks interesting. had appreciated the Norwegian language, but do not have high hopes that it will happen. Anyway, won't be much on XDA for a while. Will be busy elsewhere.

This app was initially ported by MadTeam's member DSM. It just needed a twist to make the 3x4 portrait mode work... and I found it!
It works a 99% ok, but...

The APK is reported to work in CM10 too so it probably works in all CM versions. I haven't tested myself yet.

I've been using Samsung Keypad for CM7 from Parasmi, any difference from yours ? Haven't tested yours though, I have some problems with superuser (all apps got auto-denied instantly), but Iwill do in other time.

I've checked parasmi's emanoN ROM thread and found only Skype and AOSP Gingerbread keyboard (which is default in CyanogenMod 7) I have not found the Samsung keyboard that comes with stock Touchwiz phones. That is one of the reasons I created this thread. If I'm mistaken please point me to the file or the thread where the keyboard you are refering about is located so I can check it out.
I've also added some screenshots in OP of the ported Keyboard to clarify.
Root shouldn't be neccessary. Simply apply the zip via ClockworkMod and you're good to go.

You can try but the keyboard apps from Froyo and GB are different so I'm not sure it will work. You need 3 files that look like this:
phonepad_XX.kdb
qwerty_XX.kdb
Samsung_400_XXlsUN_xt9.ldb
where XX is the two letter code for serbian (i.e. "es" for spanish, "en" for english, etc).
You should paste the three files inside the /system/T9DB folder, give them the same permissions as the other files and then select Serbian language in the options.
I don't know which is the code for serbian but if you tell me I can try help you find the GB version. Most likely it would be found in a branded firmware from your country

So for your questions:
1. Yes, it's the same app, I just tested parasmi's on my phone. But they are different ports so they may behave differently, I guess you should try both and see which one suits you best.

I have tested it several times in my phone and it's working just fine. I'm using tj_style's CM7.1.0

Was the .zip file applied correctly via CWM? Did it show any errors?
Can you find the "Samsung Keypad" option in your settings? (like on 1st screenshot) Are you sure you have selected it as input method??
I am using the same ROM.Installation of samsung keyboard (if you are talking about that zip) went smooth with no errors.I am using that keyboard with 3x4 layout and everything works great,only problem is that i don't have serbian T9 dictionary and i don't use xT9.I have imported 3 different files with same code like you told me to.Gave them permissions and change owner to be like other files in T9DB folder,reboot my phone but nothing happened.I still don't have serbian language on list of input languages in samsung keyboard settings.

Then Froyo dictionaries are not compatible with the Gingerbread App I'm afraid
I have searched but so far I couldn't find any Gingerbread ROM with Serbian language. Perhaps you could play around with CheckFusDownloader (it's a windows app, search the forums) and see if you can find an official Gingerbread ROM for any of your country's CSCs where you can extract the language files from. I'll keep looking too but can't promise anything, sorry.
More info: I pulled the Serbian language files from the latest official serbian GT-S5830 ROM (it was a long shot but worth trying) and had no luck also I noticed that serbian doesn't even show up amongst the languages to select and the list is fixed no matter how many are installed...
@lexonic did you have any luck with CheckFusDownloader? Can you find out and post here your product code to see if some gingerbread is available for your specific product code?

It might have something to be with the theme you're using. If you are using a custom theme please try changing to the default CM7 theme and see if you still have the issue

Avicho MIUI ROM
This is the most updated Miui Rom - 2.3.23 including the English, chinese, Hebrew(Full UI Translate, RTL support and Hebrew T9 dialer) Languages.
Enjoy.. and remember I'm not a developer...
Use doom's miui kernel or blendmiui kernel(my favorite..)
This Miui Rom needs baseband 56 to run - If you don't have this Baseband

Install instructions:
1. Put the rom zip file in your sd card
2. Make sure you have the desired kernel - doom's miui kernel or blendmiui v09(my favorite) kernel. if not flash it using fastboot.
3. Recomended - wipe data factory and cache, especially if u come from other rom (like stock or cm7), if not it's not so important
4. Flash the rom using the cwm recovery.
5. Reset and enjoy.

Hello, thank you for your ROM update. Just FYI, MIUI extended settings (the version for 1.11.25) is not working with your version. Something you removed or added to this ROM broke the update. But everything else seems to be working fine.

I found a solution to this problem - download the attached files and put them on your sd card. the file named "Signed_NoOverscroll.v1" flash through the recovery but before you flash this file mount the "/data" and the "/system" through the cwm recovery 'mount' menu (it's easy). after the mount thing flash the file and reboot.
Then go to file manager program (like es file explorer) and then install the MIUIsettings.apk file(check before that you can install file from unknown sources in the aplications settings). After this easy operations u will enjoy the "miui control" app.
Anyway, I'm here to help.

tried both mods on super rom v3 and worked like a charm but two question is it only for the keyboard or for the whole system and will i be able to receive messages in arabic if it is only for the keyboard.

yes, if you want arabic/farsi languages with default keyboards, you don't have another
i think you can install and use (any soft keyboard) from market with language packs "anysoftkeyboard.apk"
or others keyb with lan packs

copy files from app to System/app folder of your phone
copy files from fonts to System/fonts folder of your phone

To Install:
This is a no wipe ROM. The minimum you need to wipe is cache and dalvik.
I would recommend a full wipe though (system, preload, cache, data)
Be on a safe kernel (philz, speedmod) Stock kernel, specially ICS, WILL BRICK your device. I do not think anyone has been brave enough to try wiping on JB kernel.
Boot into CWM recovery.
Perform full wipe.
Install zip from internal/external card.
Wait.
Reboot after the installation ends.
Install and enable Xposed framework.
Reboot to activate the framwork.
Install and enable Xposed Per App Settings module.
Reboot
Run Per App Settings and search for internet and change settings to 240 dpi and screen to 600*1024

Can i use Alliance Mod in this Rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2171688).
If yes which mod i can Choose( system or Preload )
I am not sure if alliance mods will work or not. I haven't tried it. If you want to try, make a nandroid backup (preload included) of your existing rom and then install the alliance mods for preload. I have left most apks as per the default rom. If it doesnt work, you can revert back to the nandroid backup.

you said that CSC data removed, yet you include CSC selector?... i don't understand. personally i never play with csc thingie..so i see CSC only is fine by me.

kmokhtar79's multi language pack is multi csc as far as i know. I myself havent used it, but his post says this:
By flashing this rom your sale code would change to UAE. So if you need to change CSC code first use CSC_Changer.apk to change your CSC to your region.
I figured, since the apk has a really tiny foot print, and people might want to install their languages. So i have included it too.
WARNING: Changing the CSC *WILL* do a factory reset.
you can add Polish language to the software?
They is no way to change csc if csc data is removed..

My pack doesn't change System languages properly because apk file are required to be translated means a translation xml should be added to each apk file. It only can be used for Input languages for those who are not going to use system languages: for example although using my pack can change system language to Thai or whatever but since mms.apk is not translated you can not send Thai sms by Stock Messaging app. You can only use it to write in user apps.

Polish language is in each apk.
I've never seen a Samsung stock apk without polish. (like Hungarian)
You need only your CSC files.... (or must set everything manually, language, input language, internet settings...)
If the language.xml is modified and your language it's deleted "in the CSC/common folder", then you can't use your language. (edit it before flashing)
I am not adding any language to the ROM. I actually removed all CSC data and language files, except English, from the stock ROM.
As kmokhtar said, just adding a language pack will not give you languages in each app since to have a language in the app, it needs its xml files editted to include the language pack for that perticular app.
As I said, i have not used kmokhtar's language packs, so I do not know if it includes the CSC data from other stock ROMs or just the language files.
When I was toying around with CSCs of different regions' ROMs, I found that if you put all the sub folders from the CSC folder into one and edit the sw_configuration.xml file, you should have all the CSCs in your rom. But that still would not give any language not included in the particular app. Multiple CSC will only give you the general system languages and input languages.
Again, I have not used ThaiDai's Pristine ROMs, but from what I understand, he has modded files to include all the possible languages provided by Samsung in each of their regional ROMs. Single ROM with all languages.

anyhow, i think i will be fine with only english. downloaded but still doesn't have time to flash yet.

I myself do not use blue tooth, but I do have a non A2DP blue tooth device. I tried it to make and receive calls and it is working just fine.
Anyone else facing such problems with blue tooth?

If I try to connect phone it disconnects using a Moto S10HD works fine on other roms
