Is there a file that i can flash via mobile odin that would modify my quickpanel to show 15 toggles? I don't need additional themes. Just the toggles. I'm on stock german 4.0.4 and rooted. The ones i've seen require cwm. Just wondering if there's anything else that would let me use what i already have.

You can use cwm.zip (which you have used to root device)
Thanks doc. I've don't have cwm. I've been using mobileodin to update my phone since 2.3.5.

Fing installation n root ics link on my signature, you will get it from there.
Just read how to root, here you have to use toggle zip in place of supersu busybox install.zip. Rest of method is same

Ended up installing cwm. Already have the 15 toggles. Thanks!

I used the root tool at unlockroot.com. I am fairly new to this. I couldnt get the root to work using the zergrush exploit for my specific firmware. I was granted superuser access so I am assuming it went well. I guess my main question is how do I manage/add roms to my N7000? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

This program doesn't work on the last couple versions of 2.3.6, the exploit was patched.
I don't see anyone really trying to find exploits in GB with ICS right around the corner
So does that mean that the root didn't work? I have super user access. I need a good way to manage rooms. Maybe I should just revert it back and wait on ics?

Check once your superuser access by installing any app that requires it like Titanium Backup. If everything is fine you should also be having CWM in ur apps and if u dont have it then flash the CF kernel specific to your firmware from this thread- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
After you are done with all the check then you can go hunting for the available roms on GB and leaked ICS in this forum - http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1349
Read the posts....and the features u get in each rom and flash the one you like
Explore and make the best out of your already awesome Note!
Thanks! That helped a lot. I ended up rooting with galaxynoteroot.com instructions and I am running criskelo ics rom now and its great.
I've seen on the xda forums that some people have 'extra' toggling buttons at the top of their notification drawer(hope it's the correct term, 1st three months as Android OS user), My friend's S3 has them by default too, does the Note have it? or is there a need for root/custom launcher; since S3 has a newer rev of the Touchwiz Launcher. If possible, i would like to avoid rooting!
What the phone currently has, from stock is just 5 buttons at the top, which are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Profile, Screen Rotation, Power Saving.
Wish to add: Mobile Data toggle/ Sync toggle (dunno if there's any more available)
something like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=1620625
^yeap, that's it. but i have a query, it's my first time with an android phone, barely used for 4 months.
i don't get wat's flashing with CWM; does that require root? what exactly is CWM, apart from the full name?
does flashing that mod = voiding my warranty like what rooting does?
Bump. Anyone knows why the note doesn't have it o.o

You can use some app from playstore for extra toggles if you do not want to root but flashing this mod requires root and cwm.
If you are rooted, you can have 15 toggles without having cwm, here is a small guide- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30668303

To root your phone, you could simply flash a safe rooted kernel like Odin version hydracore through ODIN.
You will get yellow triangle and increased counter. But you can reset it easily with triangle away app by chain fire.A simple search would bring it up....

Thanks for the above confirmations/help provided.
One last query, how do I backup my current settings? I suppose the sequence is root, backup and then apply mod?

Bump!
Question in my above post in unanswered :x
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
when u root and apply a safe kernel like hydracore or speedmod.. u will get cwm thru which u can backup the ROM using the nandroid backup feature.
The best start is to get Rooted first.. then install the 15 toggles you want.. search threads and you will find a lot with different shapes and themes

That shouldn't be possible if you have done everything correctly with correct files. No errors during flash?
During boot-up, how far it goes? Kernel splash, bootanimation?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2
No errors, that's why I'm here asking for help.
Stuck at the 'Samsung galaxy I9000' guess it's the kernel screen?

Ah. Just noticed your tapatalk signature..you're using gt-i9100 ? If so, then you have definitely been flashing wrong roms..search for the correct sub-forum from XDA and get correct files
Edit: stupid me..if your phone doesn't boot..Then you probably ain't posting with it just ignore this post..

Try my recovery kit if you like, unzip it and read the .txt first,
http://db.tt/MOGZx01S
Just remember it can take up to 10 minutes to boot up after a flash
What does it mean, you're recovery kit?
Any explanations before downloadin?

It contains ezodin, ezbase GB ROM jvu, and cf root kernel, and.pit file also my instructions. the ez bits are just slimmed versions of stock Odin and stock jvu , so if you follow instructions you will be on the GB ROM with root and cwm, so from there you can flash what you want (following ROM specific instructions obviously!)
I flashed yesterday my SGS with JB v6. it's beautiful.
just a couple of things are out...
1) APN!!!
I can't set my apn manually and the option "restore default apn" doing nothing!
2) ROOT
Now the SGS is not rooted (don't know because after flash is unrooted).
How is the procedure to root it again on JB?
any idea to solve my problems?
There is a separate file for root, you have to flash that un cwm as well. Find it in the first post of the thread

Hi there,
I want to ask you all how do I root my stock ICS without installing other custom roms. I just need the stock to be rooted for me to install titanium back up and unroot it after the Jellybean official arrived.
I am having a lot of problem with game save files import and export. Cause most of the game save saved locally on phone.
Any help would be grateful!

Go through Dr.Ketan's guide..you will get to know everything about rooting.
I did the same thing when I first rooted my phone. Just rooted the stock ICS & was using it. So, under development section, you will find the kernel thread in which you will see Philz kernel. Select the one which is for your ICS version & flash it via PC Odin
just install the philz kernel using recovery and you will get root.
If I want to restore back to stock kernel, what should I do? flash stock kernel again?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
Yes using mobile odin..

Use Exynos Abuse.
It will work on ICS firmware only. (Not GIngerbread)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2050297
Its the safest, easiest and quickest method to root.

I just updated thru Kies in Hong Kong, to 4.04 JB. I tried to use the camera and I had an alert blocking the camera screen and a message bar as follows "Tap and hold shortcuts to edit them. Also combined with it where the OK button was was a text box with the words scanning media in it.
Now, its working after I played with it, first I reboot, that didn't help. Then I accidentally put it into third party mode but hit the up volume to get out of it before it went into download mode. It started to reboot but I held the up-vol, home and on button until it went to the rest screen. I tried to just wipe the cache, but it didn't do anything, moving the selector up and down worked, I tried wiping cache again, no luck, so I just reboot. After rebooting I laid the phone down and started to look for a solution in here. So I go to try the camera again to get the alert message it had, and
Wha La, the darn camera started working right, the alert blocking the screen was gone, it came up as usual for a new triggering, but it accepted my selection when I told it ok and then it went away as usual, computers, micro-processors, no matter what kind, if you have problems, some times just a long shut down to clear the electronic memory will also clear the problems.
