Hi guys...i'm from Greece and a friend of mine from the UK sent me a new Ace he bought as a present. I dont know if this device can only be used in the English O2 carrier but when the phone boots it shows this carrier's logo. When i enter my pick it says that i have to enter the network lock control key. How do i get it? Is there any way to bypass this? I read about a website that you must pay them and give them your imei to send u the code but i dont wanna pay so much money. Is there any way to unlock it for free? Do i have to root it, or even flash another custom ROM? How do i do it?
Thanks in advance guys!!

Free Way's to do a sim unlock are very very very very very very VERY dangerous therefor avoid them at all cost! pay 15 euros and get him unlock!
Otherwise you'll pay 250 to repair him os simple end up with an styled brick.
Removing carrier trash is other thing ... but that is far easyer and and safer to do!
Take care
What is the most trustworthy site to pay to unlock it?

If you can follow instructions to a tee try the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1335548
I did it fine.
(I assume no liability if you cannot follow instructions)
As someone else said, try Sammobile.

there is thousands of ways, I don't want to bay the unlock code.
can Anyone show me the guide how to unlock my phone?
The link I provided and the link to the app thread in that link has all the info you need..... The only way it could get any easier is if you had someone else physically do it for you. I'm unsure if anyone could explain it better than that.

Try downloading a program called Unlock Root (just google it) that should root your phone.
Then download Galaxy S Unlock from the Google Play Store and that should unlock your phone for any sim. (You also need busy box)
Good luck

Sorry for probably stupid question but I just panning to buy S3 mini with simlock (on O2 UK) and I would to install CM10.x on it.
So if is any problem with install it? Do I need to unlock bootloader first like on sony/sony ericsson phones or root is enough?
I tried to find and answer by search but there are not full, confusing or probably outdated.
Regards
Thom

Samsung has the bootloader unlocked by default, so you don't need that like in xperia devices. I had two xperias before the samsung too. You can install cm roms with your sim locked or unlocked
Hi everyone
I'm new in this things, and I want to unlock my Xperia X8 from the carrier(vodafone-Portugal).

Flashing/Installing a ROM or Kernel in your Xperia X8 is completely different from SIM-Unlocking it. I donĀ“t know where you read that Flashing/Installing a ROM or Kernel would SIM-Unlock your phone. No ROM or Kernel is able to do that. In order to SIM-Unlock your device you need to pay money. There are two methods of doing it, buying a Network Unlock Code or downloading a program, connecting your phone to your PC with your USB Cable an paying for credits to unlock your phone. In my opinion you should go with the USB Cable one since it is cheaper and faster (but a little more complicated). BTW before you ask, there is no way of SIM-Unlocking you phone for free, believe me I have searched.

I don't think he got does Usernames and Passwords in a legal way (Not that i care, i would used them if i was able to). Any way he inst posting any more Usernames and Passwords so that method is useless. Unless you pay for credits, like i said before.
Read this: https://loja.vodafone.pt/homephone/condicoes-de-desbloqueio
If you meet the criteria you can get it unlocked for free.

Hi all,
First of all hats off to all the contributors of this site. Really, without you guys, many people will be wasting money and wandering around for solutions. This site has amazing content.
So, to start with. I have a Sprint HTC One which says SIMLOCK enabled when i switch it on. and when I insert a SIM, it says some UICC code not set something..like that...
I am in India now, and I want to use this phone with the local carriers here.
Here are the details of the phone:
Model No: HTCPN072
UICC ID : Not available
IMSI(UICC) : Not available
After doing initial research on this forum, I understood that, I need to unlock bootloader first, and then root and flash ROM.
when i go to bootloader (press volume down + power button) the first line shows 'unlocked' on the screen. Does it mean , bootloader is unlcoked?? Please confirm.
All I want is to use this phone in India. I found various methods to unlock, root and flash custom ROMs, but I wanted to go with XDA - but unfortunately, when l opened forums for Sprint HTC One, I see lot of posts and threads, and the result is I am lost. I dont know where to start.
I know you would have answered many questions like this, I dont want to waste your time though so point me in right direction by providing links
I would be grateful , if you direct me to the right threads for this. Also please give me links where we have all-at-one-place.
Thanks again.

Ok read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2244060 You have already an unlocked bootloader, so skip this part and go directly to flash recovery (I suggest TWRP)
The recovery will ask if you want to root
Finally install the "Sprint HTC One SIMunlock helper" from play store and follow the instructions
