Friendcaster is a hands down, far superior app for Facebook, then the Official Facebook app. It does it in less room, with a plethora of options the Official app doesn't have. I can do almost everything on Friendcaster I can online, and faaaaarrrrrrrrr more then the FB app. Try it!!
hmmm, I will have to check it out. Thanks for the 411
Thanks sinsin it is a better app than facebook android.
Bummer it doesn't have chat.

seems to me that what this app does os mostly provide notifications of updates and then send you to the facebook app or the webpage to do updates or even simply reply to messages. Will have to play with it some more however.

Been forever. If you're using the free version it doesn't do half of what the paid one does. If youre using the paid version there are options in the settings to choose actions for things. So it really does everything better. Even the FB app forces you to the website for stuff. Plus the paid version of Friendcaster has a black theme, to answer the post before yours. Not sure what options the free version has so if you're using it read up on it. It may be limited to certain things and options.

I really like keeping notes on my phone but there's no Notes app in the AT&T ROM. I tried pulling the one from RumRaider but it FC's on opening so I'm guessing it's missing dependencies/framework or something. Is there a notes app that will work with Sense 3?
Thanks!
I too have been searching for a good notes app, but haven't found one yet.
I use aknotepad from the market. Unless you're talking about something different.
Evernote is really good, free, and syncs to their server (a must if you flash a lot).

"Only" 5 million + downloads from the Android Market. I use it to sync between my work and home PCs and my Vivid. I figure it's as easy to enter a text note in Evernote as it is in any other stand-alone text editor or notes app.
AK Notepad was a great suggestion. Pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Although I might have to check out Evernote.
I tried several, and Evernote beats em all hands down, IMO.
I'm surprised nobody mentioned Gtasks.
I use Gtasks for the convenience and simplicity of use. You simply download it and it syncs immediately to your google account. You can enter notes from your phone or pc (from your gmail calendar) and even while reading articles or websites on your phone, you can share the webpage or article directly to gtasks, so it sends a link to the app. You can further use it as a task management tool by setting reminders and alarms for each note item.

evernote has similar functions. Plus there is a really good chrome extension so you can clip text or send a page directly to your evernote account.. I use this all the time for recipes and stuff. Also it looks like HTC built a native note app that will sync with evernote now and it works great!
I use gtasks for a long time, I might give evernote a try

If your an MS Office user, OneNote is now available for Android. Cloud syncing via LiveDrive works well.

I am running stock AT&T .56 ROM & I have the built-in HTC notes app that syncs with Evernote.
I use colornote. its quite convenient to me.
U can find it on Google Play!
As an MS Outlook user, I like MyPhoneExplorer for syncing contacts, notes, calendars and tasks. The developer is actively engaged, and responds quite quickly to support issues.

Second this, is not the same nice voice I had on my one x. Is there a way to change or download a different module?

Supposedly, should go to settings - controls - language and input - text-to-speech (TTS) options - Samsung TTS engine and press configure cog. Then install voice data and download high quality voice female, but it doesn't do anything (in my case just a popup window that says it will download and nothing else happens). Can you please check this on your device also? It might be a software bug

You have to have Samsung apps enabled.
At&t Note III...& At&t G Pro
I did that too and mine downloaded but still Samsung voice. On Google map it used to be more human voice .

Yup, same here. I want the Google voice, not the HD samsung voice.
I have this problem on my Huawei P6, and from doing reseach I believe it's the TTS. If you look at under language and input, there is no Google-Text-To-Speach engine, but instead just the Samsung one.
I still couldn't find a way to download (or where to download the app for that matter) the Google TTS engine.
I hope some can figure this out, because that Samsung voice is really annoying. The funny thing is, Google Now have the correct voice/sound.

in the text to speech menu under advanced samsung has HD voice downloads and they all sound really good. and there free
I took a peek on the link provided as far as a work around for this issue/annoyance, and seems like a lot of work.
Anyway, I've found an easier solution. You have to be rooted and have Titanium backup. Not sure if it will for everyone, but it sure works on my phone.
All I did was freeze the Samsung TTS engine, and like a miracle my Google maps now sounds wonderful (it use the Google voice/speech) now.
Let me know if this works for you guys.
I'm happy now.

If you do this then when using navigation it will not say the name of the streets. It will only say turn right in 1000 feet.

This ^^^ /Agreed. That's probably why it's called voice guidance
Voice sound
Google's map navigation function is pretty better than apple's. It shouldn't be lead you to lost at a different location.
i don't like samsung text to speed engine even with the HD voice, i am using my google map every day and now it is using samsung text to speech voice on google map, was wondering if there is a way to install google text to speech engine.
My Note 2 was using google text to speech voice on google map which was more human voice but with note 3 it is big step down .

here is how i got it taken care of.
Downloaded the new beta version of google map Here
the you download IVONA text to speech here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ivona.tts&hl=en
next step download the voice from here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ivona.tts.voicebeta.eng.usa.kendra&hl=en
once you downloaded both of them go back to setting and choose language input , go to Text to speech option and choose IVONA text-to-speech HQ
Restart Your phone and you are good to go.

Thanks! Just out of curiosity, why is the new Maps beta needed? Does Ivana not work with the current Maps version?
I did it when I was still on the latest version and for whatever reason didn't work for me so I downloaded the beta.
I think it should work on both of them

Everyone should be happy to know [at least I was!] Google did something right! Since Samsung screwed us over, Google released their text to speech engine on the Play store for anyone to install this morning. So just search for it in the store and you can be rid of the horrid Samsung voice for good!

Dears, sorry if this was already posted, but the email app from kitkat android i found over at android police just rocks and beats the crap out of the sony stock app.
Here is the link: http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/...4-4-with-gmail-style-ui-and-a-slide-out-menu/
FYG i downloaded both the email app and the exchange app and just installed those as usual apk (no flashing or system pushing), then disabled the stock app via settings native function (but as i can see these two can coexist, though cannot imagine who'd want to keep the stock email when having this).
have fun
PS
Sorry, but no screenies, but it looks just like the latest gmail app.
