Go Here!
Changelog:
July 28th
Based of ArcKnight Kernel RC3.3 Release for Arc and Arc S
Included Riyal's Recovery since I wasn't sure if Arc S recovery would work
OverClock up to 1.6GHZ.
Init.d Scripts Support.
Slightly Modified voltages Table (UV).
CMW Pre-installed
Tweaked Sio Scheduler.
Two Way Recording Call patch
Support for ext2,ext3,ext4 and NTFS FileSystems.
Latest Adreno Sources patched.
KGSL power Management Tweaks. - Super Smooth UI
Wifi Voltage Lowered
Charging power increased, now charging from USB ports should be a bit faster
LCD Panel voltage Lowered - It should use less battery when screen is on
PU Driver based on my own modified sources, it is the same as per the previous versions of ArcKnight Kernel
Tiny RCU instead of TREE RCU
SLQB Allocator instead of SLAB
CFQ, SIO and VR IO Schedulers modified and optimized fo Flahs Memory Devices
Memory Allocations tweaks like Kernel Granurality and Vm Dirtinesss
rcKnight CPU Governor modified to work with the NEW CPU Table, I know it was slow the first time but TRUST me it if smooth and fast and it will save your battery better than ondemand and intellidemand
ArcKngith_II CPU Governor
ArcKnight_II is my own CPU Governor based on the "Conservative" Governor but with some interesting addons specially when it comes to smoothness..
I've added static look up tables with arranged frequencies. So the CPU governor will look up on this table depending on the Average CPU load the phone is having to accomodate the best Frequency for the task running. For example when you're gamming or doing something heavy with the Phone the ArcKnight_II will push the CPU to the highest frequencies but when the CPU load gets reduced it will inmediately put the phone to lower freqs...
Users on the Arc and Arc S thread have reported great smoothness and good battery life when using the CPU Governor.
USB OTG Support
The Kernel should Provide full USB OTG Support for Mouse, Keyboard and Pendrive devices... However the .ko modules should be loaded separately since my aim was to keep the Kernel as slim and debugged as possible...
Instructions - How to Flash?
Flash as any other Kernel you have flashed before... - I strongly recommend a Clean install of both Kernel and ROM to avoid any leftovers or issues with any previous Kernel you might have...
DOWNLOADS:
Downloads will be placed in 2nd Post for Stable Releases and 3rd Post for Test Releases if any comes...
IMPORTANT:
Remember I don't own this device, I've ported the ArcKnight Kernel based on xperiaap request... So it will be really difficult for me to test and debug any possible error... You'll have to help me here
If you feel like supporting this fellow dev don't hesitate on clicking on the Thanks Button and if you have any spear bucks over there just click in HERE or in the donate to me button and you'll be helping me like you have no idea...

^ He has a point.
I was about to download it thinking it was for Arc / S ^_^

Sure... I just put that name since the Kernel has created some sort of "Fame" with the ArcKnight Kernel...
I would like to hear some ideas from the Users, actually the ArcKnigh kernel was proposed by the Arc Users so, PRO Users I'll expect for some Ideas...

Can I flash this kernel on my arc s?
Tapatalk @ Xperia Arc S

You already got ArcKnight kernel for Arc. This is a port for Xperia Pro..

Can you read? I think both the Title of the Thread and the 1st POST clearly state that the Kernel is for Xperia Pro...!
You know where the ArcKnight Kernel for Arc / Arc S is...

BTW, i still haven't flashed the wfi modules yet but booted it already... on FW .58 but the title clearly states ICS... is this expected?
i just don't know if the combination will still boot after flashing the wifi modules...

After restart the i/o sheduler is on deadline ( allways reset to that if u choose another sheduler )

Nice kernel, will use it for a while thanks for your work

I'd like to see more feedback about this kernel as it looks promising. Thank you
Sent from my Nexus S using xda app-developers app
Kernel is good.. snappy.. nice performance..
There is no 1000mhz on the clock, so it's always on 1.24ghz ..
Pls add interactive governor.. I can't change the governor, only shows smartassv2 ...
Battery life not gr8.. But runs well.. power hungry games are smooth.. good overall..

This is inspired by SAMSUNG Infuse 4G, which use the same CPU and do not have 1.0GHz step in its stock kernel.
when there are both 1.24 and 1.0GHz, the governor will prefer to use 1.24GHz. And i thought it may help governor switch between steps faster.
so it won't eat more battery in this case.

I only built smartassV2(tweaked) into kernel. because it balance between battery life and performance.
There are also include kernel module of ondemand and conservative, you could load them by insmod if you like.
Thank you very much and must try it .

thanks for your kernel! i will try it now and report back
EDIT: unfortunately kernel doesn't work for me - i use it with paranoidandroid and rom was really sluggish at first (maybe cache-related...). then i startet setcpu for adjustments and the phone stopped responding with "colorful snow" on the screen. i pulled battery to reboot. - maybe my 9023 doesn't like 1,24 ghz (it is a bit picky, but 1,2 ghz at stock vol was never a problem).

yea, well, with stock kernel (and thalamus and matr1x and air kernel) everything runs fine, but i wanted to know, if there is a way to find out what exactly causes the problem with your kernel and my phone (which also might help somebody else). - raising the vol does not help that much, still some freezes from time to time (even though i'm above stock vols).

[KERNEL][CM10] CM10 kernel for ICS bootloader (RAM hack,OC)

This kernel is no longer being updated. Please refer to kowalski kernel thread for CM10 ROMs.
Presenting CM10 kernel built from source with ramhack and OC/UV support by wkpark
Only for the new (unlocked ICS) bootloader!
This is RC's kernel, with patches by wkpark for ramhack and OC/UV. Supports OC upto 1.5 GHz.
Thanks to them for all their work. Also, thanks to pengus77 for bringing CM10 to the new bootloader
Built using my guide over here
Uses spica's HP supersonic toolchain
Works with CM10/MIUIv4 ROM on new bootloader only
Download links:
New and recommended powersaver version!
Includes pengus77's wifi drain fix (All credit to him for that)
Non-OC, to increase battery life and stability
RAM hack values 24 MB, 32 MB, 48 MB for increased smoothness
New experimental governors are absent in this ROM, which is meant to be a stable version for daily usage. The new governors have not been properly tested yet and are unlikely to be used by most of the users. They may be included in later builds after more testing. If you want to use them, flash the experimental kernel on the previous page.
This is the version recommended for daily usage. Try the 48 MB one first, and if camera gives problems, then try a lower RH value.
Download link for stable, powersaver version
Link to latest experimental version
Download link for older experimental versions
This is the link to my folder with all kernels for the new bootloader so far, in case you want to try some other version. Ramhack values are mentioned in the file names, and if it supports OC (not every phone will like OC) it is also mentioned in the file name.
Thanks to RC and wkpark, this would not be possible without them.
Warning:
I am not responsible if anything goes wrong with your phone.
If your phone does not like OC/UV, or freezes when overclocked, reduce the max frequency or dont use the OC version of the kernel.
If apps like camera give problem, try to use a version with reduced ramhack value.
To be flashed over the ROM without wiping data. Wipe only cache and dalvik cache
If you are having problems with the new kernel and wish to revert back to the stock kernel, flash your ROM again
Credits:
arcee and the rest of the CM team. Its their work it is based on
Donate to RC
wkpark for cracking the bootloader, new his patches, without which, there would be no ramhack or OC/UV
Donate to wkpark
pengus77 for bringing CM10 to the new bootloader and wifi battery drain fix.
This wouldn't be possible without him
spica1234 for his wonderful HP Supersonic toolchain
benee for his anykernel updater for star, and for all his work
Other devs for all their work (PM me if I forgot someone!)
Source: https://github.com/rugglez
Changelog:
29/12/12:
New version built with spica's supersonic HP toolchain
Integrated pengus77's latest (v3) wifi drain fix + bsod fix
27/12/12:
Experimental version released with new CPU governors (smartass v2 and hotplug), and simple I/O scheduler (default is still cfq), max frequency=1.2 GHz
Power saver version released without OC or new governors, and with pengus77's wifi battery drain fix
26/12/12:
Initial release
Max clock frequency is 1.5 GHz
Trying the 32mb oc kernel, seems ok so far, will report back any oddities,
I'm on penguss cm10.
i tested..............
Great news. Just two little questions:
- does this work with cm10.1 as well?
- are the Wifi drain patches from pengus77 included?

You could try it with cm10.1 but im not sure if it would work. Take a backup first. Wifi drain patches will be included with his permission and when he feels it is the right time (after the testing phase and all)
thanks for the hard work i think u can put like a changelog in thread and the features of kernel listed just avoid people asking same thinks all the time
included wireless.ko is the one patched by pengus? thank you in advance
edit: just checked, it's not the patched one
First impressions are good! Not much room for UV as 1ghz is already at 1000mV which is quite low already I think? But that is not important, just an observation.
Thanks Rugglez. Been waiting a while for an OC kernel on CM10 and no call bug either. This is the future for our phone I think.
I ´m testing the 48M_OC-Kernel on CM10.
I set max OC to 1,2GHz, but Antutu CPU Master shows Peaks at 1,5GHz! The Kernel is always scaling in its full available Range.
I tested it with different Settings and Gouvenours, nothing helps.

I just checked with "CPU spy" and yes it is hitting 1.5Ghz even though I have it set lower than that.
Noted. Will release 1.2 GHz and 1.4 GHz versions separately from next time
With pengus77 permission now, i'll integrate his wifi drain fix too.
Probably tomorrow

[KERNEL][TW]Forest-HelloWorld-Make-II kernel_JB N7000_V201-P_Final

*** THIS KERNEL ONLY SUPPORTS SAMSUNG TW JB 4.1.2 ROMs (STOCK and CUSTOM). DOES NOT WORK IN CM or AOSP!!! ***
*** The Kernel is Safe (MMC_CAP_ERASE disabled) and the included PhilZ Recovery uses delete recursive and avoids brickbug ***
*** Stiil, I take no responsibility if the provided KERNELs causes any problem to your phone, you are warned! ***
Hello Friends,
I am no developer, just an Android lover. I share with you my first custom kernel for Note N7000 JB building from sources. It was made mainly for my hobby and my own needs, but hopefully can be useful to other members.
Forest-HelloWorld-Make-II kernel
As the name suggested, it is essentially a continuity of the C.O.H HelloWorld kernel.
FEATURES:
Features added by me:
- Implement r3p1 GPU driver to JB4.1.2 (from V2.0.0 (Credits and thanks to @GeeckoDev for this excellent work)
- OC OLED panel refresh rate to 60 (from V1.9.1)
- Remake GPU to 4 steps (V_1.9.0) (Very capable for gaming why maintain good battery life)
- Compile using Linaro toolchain 4.7.4.(12.2013) (V1.9.0) (it feels silky smooth)
- Update recovery to PhilZ Touch 5! You have a more beautiful and intuitive GUI. (from V1.8.2)
- Use LZMA compression (from V1.8.2).
- BLN support (only for V1.7.3)
- Enable OC CPU to 1600 (from V1.6.4 for OC CPU versions)
- Exfat native support (Now you can enjoy unlimited file size and fast speed on ext-sdcard)
- Kernel linux version 3.0.31, build using Ubuntu 13.10
- Toolchains: CodeSourcery G++
- Some optimization of the config file
- Su binary is updated to the latest version.
- Made three versions: 1) With OC of both CPU and GPU 2) With stock CPU and OC GPU and 3) With stock CPU and GPU.
Features benefited from C.O.H kernel:
- CPU Hotplug support from Speedmod kernel (only 1 core when not in load, battery friendly)
- Disabled logcat and dmesg and unnecessary Samsung debugging.
- UV capability.
- Increased Touchscreen sensitivity even when charging (Best touch response to date in Note).
- FSYNC Control 1 (from Ezekeel's GLaDOS kernel for Nexus).
- Tweak GPU in GPU OC version: 133, 267, 400 MHz (3 steps),
- Many cpu governors and schedullers: Defaults are Hyper-Row now (You can also tried noop-pegasusq as recommended by C.O.H)
- Fix for wifi drain on standby (disabled all multicast).
- Speedmod K5-3 fixes included
- Other features are the same as in c.o.h’s HelloWorld Kernel.
-------------------------------
HOW TO ENABLE LOGCAT (Only for V1.6.4 and lower!) .Credits to @hardcore:
If you want to re-enable logcat for whatever reason, do this:
adb shell
su
mount -o remount,rw /system
echo ANDROIDLOGGER >> /system/etc/tweaks.conf
mount -o remount,ro /system
exit
Reboot android system. Then can take logcat as you wish!
--------------------------------
The kernel is very smooth, stable and battery friendly.

HelloWorld-Make-II-V1.7.3:.
- BLN support added.
HelloWorld-Make-II-V1.6.4:.
- OC CPU to 1600 (you can enable it using Nofrills or SetCPU...)
- UV 25mv for each steps, for balance performance and battery life.
- Include VR I/O scheduler, leave out Deadline
- Tweak thermal threshold (first level from 64 to 70, second level threshold keep the same).
Significant improvement for heavy games: I can play my favorite Let's Golf 3 super smooth now.
Bugs: stock video only play from gallery. Use MX video which is much better, btw.
HelloWorld-Make-II-V1.5.5:.
- Leave out some Governors, keep only 5: Hyper, Performance, Ondemand, Pegasusq, and SmartassV2.
- Leave out I/O Schedulers, keep only 5: Row, Sio, Noop, Cfq and Deadline.
- Padding zImage to the full size of the Kernel partition, 838808 bytes (Thanks to the trick by Chenglu and PhilZ!) this should help make the flash of kernel always clean.
- other minor tweaks
The new version is leaner, lighter. Should help improve performance and battery life!
For those who is on V1.4.5 it is recommended that you move to V1.5.5

Thanks NokiaModeln91!
It is harder than I thought building a custom kernel from source, and unpacking Initramfs from zImage. I am very happy I made it.
Try it our! I find it really good indeed!
Anyone flash this kernel im on sweetrom 10.5 with speedmod k5

Great work I can't try it atm. as I am on a stable OmniROM which I have had for a month but once this breaks I will give it a go
Are there any plans to add more tweaks?

My bad . Thanks for pointing that out. Links are corrected now.
forest1971, quick question. How can i edit mount points ? Example, /system is mounted in /dev/whatevah and i want to change that. Is it possible ?
You can find mount points in the guide in my signature.
Btw, the question is not relevant in this thread.

Speedmod k5-5 seems to be the benchmark for performance and battery life. I suspect too many governers and schedullers may harm the battery life. I will make a new ones with only few of them.
Still, kernel takes time to settle down with rom. So it is still too early to judge. Cheers.

This kernel work with Omni 4.4 for Xperia Z. It's tested on Omni 4.4.4 nightly build 20141031. Please update your rom if you're using an older version.
INSTRUCTION
Make sure you're using Omnirom build 20140324 or later. Download here. Flash the zip in CWM or TWRP recovery.
NOTES
To change CPU governor or min/max cpu frequency (i.e. over/underclocking), first disable MPDecision and enable Intelliplug using an app like Fauxclock or Trickster Mod. To over/underclock, use Omnirom's performance setting. Third-party apps might not work.

ok first im updating my rom DU...new test build then once booted in to the system will flash the kernel and update how things go...
---------- Post added at 02:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:17 AM ----------
flashed the kernel on Dirty Unicorn Build 25...every things good...no graphic glitches like Meow Kernel...
Bugs:
1) WiFi doesn't work. @aidfarh it would be good if you provide a Wifi module zip file till u find a way to resolve the issue.
2) A little digestible lag... while scrolling list view in settings and i also while scrolling side wise in the app drawer...
Suggestions.
1) More CPU governors. i know will happen today or tomorrow
2) Release Wifi Modules till the kernel is compatible with omni based roms
3) GPU overclocking can be peaked a little more higher (meow kernel had achieved it 450Mhz u can look in to it)
4) Never leave devloping this kernel as its the first for Omni and we got limited choice when it comes to kernel based on aosp and cm
But still for this stage the kernel is "remarkably good". lots of high expectations from all the omni rom and omni rom based rom users
Keep up the good work
I can confirm that it perfectly working with aslyum rom latest..nothing find unusual.. Post it soon regarding the battery life..
Edit: wifi reception was lower than stock omini..

I expected that wifi might not work with other roms or older omnirom builds. The latest omnirom kernel has updated wlan drivers but it also need updated wlan firmware to work. Try flashing the attached zip that contains the updated wlan firmware and see if it works.
Lags are hard to quantify and hard to fix. Try other CPU governors or I/O schedulers and see if things improve.
What CPU governor to do you want?
GPU overclocking is planned, but I can't promise anything.
FINALLY!!!! When i sow the thread title i couldn't believe my eyes
Long time we are waiting for a kernel that support Roms that are not based on stock, specially when u bring to us Gamma control and fast charge pleasure.
So i want to say thank u aidfarh from all of my heart, and yes plz don't stop this, keep the development up as much as u can cuz we need u
(now i feel like i am a little girl who asking too much LOL).
I am about to flash PA today, will flash it and I'll try your kernel to see how it goes, and if it doesn't then i'll back to my favorite ROM Dirty Unicorns then i'll try again.
Thank U :victory:
works good in DU

off-topic: hahaha ROJAK kernel. typical orang malaysia in naming mixed things!
back to topic, could you include FIOPS IO scheduler by faux123? According to faux, intellidemand/active works the best when combine with FIOPS scheduler.

OK.. It's working on DU 15/03/2014 build, had no WIFI but after flashing wlan firmware the WiFi get fixed.
I don't have any random errors, FC's, Reboots, lags... everything is perfect.
One thing I've noticed is Gamma control, the sittings doesn't stick after reboot and i don't now if that is the same for fast charge or for the
o/u clocking.
Will keep testing...
Its working flawless on infected's omni build 0324. Hope u keep updating this Bad ass. No issues at all so far. Cant wait for the sound control! Thank you dude.

Hi Raisul do you think there are any gains to had with a version 3 kernel? or is it simpler to backport newer features to the 2.6.x branch.
Another idea I saw in a tablet forum, internal storage was "switched" to sdcard as the media was faster than internal mmc.
Now running android M successfully, but they do have 1gig of ram.

Glad that it worked, I dont have armv6 devices for project anymore, so the project is discontinued sadly, but good news is, its compiled as best as it should be So cheers, even if anyone one to develop this kernel, feel free to use my source on Git, but, never forget to use credit part
Has anyone kept a copy of this kernel ? I recently unearthed several GT-S5839i that I'm trying to bring back to life.
