I have a copy of this rom, labeled "IceCreamSanwich_M180S_Stable_1.21.3" but haven't tried it. Tried attaching it, but didn't work so I'll look for another file posting option. If you need other files for the M180s, I think I have most of the official kernel files as well as a supposed rooted kernel and default SKT apps.
http://main.develoid.com:81/@ SAMSU...180S/IceCreamSandwich_M180S_Stable_1.21.5.tar
here is the ROM but i want the steps to flash it...what do i need after rooting?!!!
Assuming you have an M180S:
With the phone off, press and hold the Volume Down button then press the power button to get into download mode.
Fire up ODIN
select PDA
select the ROM file
click START
wait
pray that you don't brick the 180s
Currently I'm running the UC27 ROM from Samsung with the Tegrak kernel on top. Although, Samsung tried to push the UF08 rom last week.

I have flashed with this rom. if there is someone from the support of the firmware, there is the question. it's good but have some bugs: 1. if connect charger, charging is going and when disconnect charger also going. 2. when using "Tethering & portable hotspot" with WPA PSK or WPA2 PSK can't connect.
sorry for bad english.
can i use tegrak to flash this ROM??

If someone else have tried please let me know whether DMB (Digital TV) is working or not,

Hi all,
I bought a second hand SGS and it has 2.2 froyo
How can i put it back to normal 2.1 android please?
i dont want root or anything...
can any1 help? ill put a few quid in your paypal if you can take the time to guide me through it?
Well, you could always just goto settings and initiate a factory reset... You'll lose root and revert back to the stock eclair 2.1 ROM.
where is that option?
i found sd card and phone storage and
internal sd card format option
i notice another option in privacy that says factory data reset. but that looks like it might be just personal data reset not full reset thingy,
if what your saying works i will be very happy!

Think about this for a second....a factory reset is somehow magically going to pull stock 2.1 out of .....where exactly?
the OP is going to have to Odin back to stock....plenty of info here on how to do this....
what is Odin?
the search functions are down at the moment so i cant search the forums
Maybe you can help mate? please!
Its laggying badly this 2.2

Why else would it be called FACTORY reset ? It would be the firmware provided with the phone, which would be eclair as opposed to the froyo build he received on a rooted second hand phone.
The option is in settings-> privacy-> factory data reset
You can't get Froyo without flash to a froyo ' factory' firmware. In this case, A beta firmware. Whenever you flash to a new firmware, you lost your old firmware completely.

will my samsung be 2.1 and non rooted after that?
will i be able to re-root if i need to? ie to apply lagfix

1. Download odin,
2. Download the needed firmware files from Samsung firmwares,
3. Phone off. Vol down, menu, power
4. Add pit512/513 (can't remember which), pda, modem, csc in odin
5. Tick re-partition
6. Connect phone to pc
7. Click start and wait for your phone to restart
All done, This is just a quick and rough guide how to do it, there's a much better guide on this forum what to do and how
do you kno where the firmware files are exactly? i cant search the forums for the guide.. search function is down.
A quick look and you'll find 'forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723596'
For firmwares, a quick Google 'samfirmware' you'll need to sign up to access the files in the firmware section That's if there not in the above link
the first one you must to do is download the firmware file through the internet,
then download the drives and odin and pit512 file,
and then install the drives ,then run the odin, select the re-partition,in pit, select the pit512,in pda, select the firmware which named with pda,in modem and csc is also select the firmware named with modem and csc,
shut down your phone then press vol- ,home ,power at the same time, you will see a android ,
connect your phone with the pc,
when the com is turn green ,press start.and wait..after you flash the firmware, you should format the sdcard and wipe your data..
thanks guys
i think ive sorted it, but still seem rooted somehow
is this the right firmware?
2.1-update1

If thats all good! then thanks very much guys.. but root still looks iffy to me.
will this stop me from receiving updates from samsung? ie propper froyo when its out.

You can get the firmware here http://www.samfirmware.com/home.htm
Depending on what country you are in, there are diferent firmwares.
Download odin from that page aswell.
They also have a how to guide on how to flash with odin.
From my understanding you won't be getting Froyo OTA, you will be getting it via KIES. But with all the modding going on I doubt KIES will let you so you like everyone else here will have to get it installed via ODIN, no big deal at all . Just check back xda when froyo is in news for sgs

I advice you to check if the 3 Button Combo works on your Phone. If not, apply the 3 Button SBL Fix before messing with ROMs to help recover the device in case of a brick.

This is taken from the Overcome post and should get you running again (I recommend using the overcome rom, it's great)
This all also assumes a GSM device.
IF your Tab does not boot after flashing the kernel and hangs at the Samsung Galaxy Tab screen, you must follow the following procedure
Get a stock rom package (any of Rotohammer's firmwares will work)
Get P1_add_hidden.zip attached to this post and extract the P1_add_hidden.pit file (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=538724&d=1299767473)
Using Odin 1.7, put stock rom (Roto-JME-Full-v4.tar for example) in PDA slot.
Put P1_add_hidden.pit in Pit slot
Check repartition box
Put Tab in download mode by holding Volume Down and Power, connect to the computer, and press start.
After this, the Tab will reboot normally. Shut it down and return to download mode.
Open Odin 1.7 and reconnect the Tab.
In the PDA slot, choose the Overcome Kernel v2.0 tar file for use with Odin. Press start
It will flash the kernel then reboot. Upon reboot, you should hear the sexy robot voices informing you of the status of the EXT4 conversion.
Once done, the Tab will boot normally. At this point you can load Overcome Rom (or any other Rom of your choosing)

Are you people seriously flashing these devices without simple knowledge of the search function or even LOOKING for it? It's perhaps the most popular post in the GSM forums at the moment...

Hey all,
I have some questions pertaining to the flashing of my Galaxy S. I'm currently running Gingerbread 2.3.4 on CM7-NIGHTLY-42, Baseband I9000XXJVK. I'm planning to install a stock version firmware from samfirmware. The problem is, the only regional version that has 2.3.4 support is the European one.
So my questions are,
1. Would it be ok for me to install the European version stock firmware (I9000OXAJVQ) eventhough I'm outside Europe?
2. Would there be complications arising from installing stock firmware outside my own region?
3. What are the appropriate steps to install the European stock version (I9000OXAJVQ) from my current CM7 NIGHTLY ROM?
4. Will my existing CWM get replaced by something else or what?
Thank you in advance.
Regards.
Hi, below is the method for instaling a FULL PDA to you're phone(it's quoted from rahulrulez guide for MIUI), if you follow this steps you will flash with a stock firmare by you're choice(in the example below is the froyo PDA but you can use any).
Edit:
- To answer your questions, about if it's ok or not... I don't have an answer but I don't see any problem working with any firmware....
- My advice is not to use a stock firmware because is not running smooth at all... try another custom rom if you don't like CM7
Flashing Froyo Base -
1. Unplug Galaxy S if it’s connected to PC and Switch it off completely.
2. Put your phone in Download Mode (Power Button + Home Button + Volume Down)
3. Open Odin 1.7
4. Click on PDA Tab in odin and select Select GT-I9000_FROYO_FULL_PDA.tar as PDA
5. Select 512pit as PIT and check re-partition tab.
6. Connect your phone to Computer’s USB Port.
7. Now hit START Button.
8. After successful flash, your phone is on Froyo 2.2 XXJPY with Froyo Bootloaders and Speedmod Kernel

Hello

recently i flashed it with gingerbread unoficially
now i need to flash it with stock rom for gingerbread in India

edit 2: Multiupload is dead so all links are too
edit 3: DDJPA You can download it from http://db.tt/E5bdK66R
edit 4: due to generating excessive traffic dropbox has disabled my public links. post your mail ids if you want it i will add it to shared dropbox folder
Same problem here.
Anybody please help.

CHECK, you will get your 'p1000ddjm2', flash with 'Odin', try rooting and change to Indian CSC (search..!) and Kies should update automatically...
Samsung galaxy tab 7" in India gets Gingerbread.
after installing DDJM2 kies goes into connecting loop
new firmware DDJPA 2.3.3 has to be manually flashed

Only if you have flashed another rom do you have to do it manually

there's another thing I need to know before i flash. it looks like the modem.bin and CSC files are contained in a single file in the DDJPA flash file you posted above. does this mean i do not need to specify the 'CSC' and 'phone' files in ODIN? I mean, specifying only the 'PDA' file on ODIN will be sufficient, right?

E-book and Daily Briefing - Missing !!
I updated the firmware with odin 1.7.
But later i found "E-book" and "Daily Briefing" go missing !!
Additionally i see "Music Hub" added in the menu.
Can anyone confirm if the missing apps are absent in firmware or just in my tab as i flashed it over "DXJPI" and didn't flash/reset the device to retain the data.

It was not that easy for me. The device was originally from Arab region on which i had managed to load Indian ROM.
GB loaded and Odin gave pass, but again went back to download mode. On a hunch i tried using the old CSC and Modem file and voila it restarted. But then went and got stuck with invalid certificate. Cleared up the cache and hurrah! restarted to Indian GB
Many thanks for the ROM file.
Hello all,
During my travels in China, I picked up a GT-I9228G galaxy note.
Back in the UK now, and hoping I could change the rom to the english varient of GT-N7000? I am assuming GT-I9228G and GT-N7000 is the same device, just different regional roms(?).
The boot screen is chinese. It has chinese apps on it which I cant remove and no app store amongst other things. Ideally, would like to make the phone all english. Is this possible?
Just a bit of background on me:
I used to own a HTC PDA which I swap roms from developers here and very familair with jail breaking on apple products. Andriod however is new to me. I am a quick learner, so any pointers would be great please guys/gals.

I guess you could... Lots of other people bought their galaxy note from Hong Kong and also from china and they all changed their ROM for a same reason of yours.
Does not the 9220 using a snapdragons and not exynos? I not sure but I thing I have read it somewhere so carefully before flashing.

So, potentially I could just change to the one below?
N7000XXKKA ## 2.3.6 2011 November N7000CPWKK3 United Kingdom (Carphone Warehouse) Download
The box says 1.4 + <insert chinese characters here>
From wiki -A dual-core 1.4Ghz Exynos processor or a 1.5 Ghz Snapdragon S3 processor (AT&T, SK Telecom, KT, LG U+)
So my guess is Exynos. Anyway to double check?
ok, so I have downloaded the above rom and Odin3 v1.83 from sammobile.
I have opened Odin3 and specified the PIT file (Q1_20110914_16GB)
I have also ticket re-partition, auto reboot and F.reset timer.
I have loaded the rom under PDA (N7000XXKKA_N7000CPWKK3_N7000XXKK5_HOME.tar), everything else is unticked.
I have the phone in download mode ready.
I just need to know if the above is ok or am I missing anything before I click START and brick my phone?
Thanks,
Chris.
well I tried anyway.
That didnt work.
Now the phone says "software update fail"
I can still get into download mode, buts thats about it.
tried with and without the PIT file.
Anyone know what I should do now please?
I'd say you'll have to find a rom for that model
maybe http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I9220&r=2#regiona
You might have bricked your phone by checking repartition in odin. You should not have. Now you probably need to find a pit file for your model.

If you could enter download mode then try these steps
1. Open Odin and flash Pit file only and Re-partition ticked. (do not attach any ROM)
2. After this again flash ROM without pit file and re-partition un-ticked
This should work.

Going to try the original ROM, but takes about 6 hours to download from china!.
Ideally, really dont want to use the original ROM though! I'm guessing the original ROM isnt going to work now anyway since ODIN3 has re-partitioned the device(?).

Didnt have the time to work out CWM, but was given a link to another rom which had three files for ODIN3 (http://hotfile.com/dl/149302861/1896440/N7000XXLA6_N7000XEULA1_XEU.rar.html).
So, loaded the above and the phone is back in action on a N7000 rom. Wohoo. Just glad it's working again more then anything else lol!
This rom is prerooted apparently too. know idea what I should be able to do now. What does one usually do when they have a rooted device?
