Since the last update I can no longer install endomondo sports tracker on my htc hero.
Are there people with the same problem?
And even better, is there anyone who knows a solution for this? I realy love the app.
Thanks,
Jerodev
It probably requires android 2.2 or 2.3 as minimum version. And as i remember the last update for hero was 2.1. So i recommend root your phone and install CM7

Yes, I did a factory wipe every time.
I didn't do the cache wipe though, is this a problem?
No, when you wipe data it wipes cache as well
Sorry for the bump, but I would realy appreciate it if someone could help me.

Hi all,
I have read around the forum that once you flash a new ROM to your phone that all your apps will be automatically reloaded? (assuming you log into your Google account and you don't begin downloading apps as soon it reboots after the flash)
Is this true? I have never waited after a flash for the apps to "auto re-install" ... I just begin re-installing my apps straight after a flash, but it this necessary? It would be great if it's not, as re-installing everything everytime is very time consuming!
I am running CM 5.0.8, and I want to upgrade to CM 6.0 once Cyanogen releases it... (Thanks Cyanogen!!!! ) Assuming my understanding it correct, the apps should all auto re-install after I do a wipe and upgrade to CM 6.0 yes?
Thanks.
Cheers,
Ross
I thought that was a Gingerbread only feature?
Well it happened to me when I installed a modaco rom...was great

Hey Guys,
Hopefully someone can give me a hand. I have recently flashed my i9000 to Doc's Froyo Rom. Everything is working fine but I can not seem to download any of my previously purchased apps.
Anytime I try to download them, market wants me to repay for the apps.
I have wipe cache in market, through recovery, wiped data, installed eris market fix, and wiped cache + data after that.
Nothing seems to work,
Can you guys give me some advice?

When android 2.3 comes out for the nexus one, I might want to switch from my current cyanogenmod 6.1 to 2.3. Will i need to wipe my phone or simply wipe cache and dalvik cache as usual? I would rather not wipe the phone... its just a bit of a hassle, even with titanium backup

It's a completely separate rom with an entirely new base.... full wipe or you'll be in a boot loop
Well in that case how bout if I were to revert to 2.2 froyo from cm 6.1? Would i still need to wipe, since they are both froyo based? And from there stock froyo I could update to 2.3

Whenever you switch ROMs and they are from a different developer you need to wipe. Sometimes even a ROM update from the developer requires a wipe but its always specified in the instructions if it is necessary or not.

Thread reported, but to answer.
You have to do a full wipe whenever switching between two different ROMs, regardless of base. Cyanogen to Enomther? Wipe. Stock to Cyanogen? Wipe. 2.2 unofficial (meaning not OTA, but via flashable zip) to 2.3 unofficial (meaning not OTA, but via flashable zip)? Wipe. Yes it sucks, but that's the nature of things.
No one knows how different 2.3 will be. You may need a new radio also.

Didn't 2.1 to 2.2 require a new radio?
Can this new recovery be used to flash CyanogenMod 6.1.1??? I just got the new recovery update on rom manager and was going to flash cyanogenmod 6.1.1 and just checking. I thought the new recovery was for flashing Gingerbread roms?? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Vinny
I don't see why not. You can try and if it don't work you can flash an older version in ROM Manager

I am not sure about that. But one thing for sure is it is not good for MM's CM7. I have loop-reboot problem with this. I cannot even restore to any custom roms except my froyo stock. :-( Now, I have to downgrade to 2.5.x.x to see if my custom roms work again.
See development section.
EDIT: I successfully restore other custom roms using lower version of Clockworkmod. But the loop-reboot problem of MM's CM7 remains the same.
I guess I won't find out until I try. Newly rooted and going to give CyanogenMod a try. Know I am going to be happy as hell with it.
Thanks
The new recovery should be fine with flashing any roms. As for any standing problems with it, im am uncertain. You may want to wait 2 weeks or so to see if their are any problems from people using it. Personally I like Amon ra so i cant say.

I used it to flash and install tonight's build successfully...
I have a "side question".
To flash any GingerBread flavor, do we need 3.x.x.x ou 2.5.x.x is working?
I haven't give CM7 a try yet, but I'm not sure if I need/want to upgrade to 3.x.x.x, 2.5.1.4 work well for me.

I got it too. No more crazy rebooting. I solve it by reformatting my SD card and recreating ext3. I guess 3.0.0.5 recovery messed up my ext3 partition. Now, MM CM14 is working pretty well. FYI, I am using 2.5.1.4 recovery.
Yeah it was working good till I try to do a restore, lets just say I;m up all night trying to restore my phone. I think my EXT partition messed up too as DTa2sd is giving me all kinda of headache.
doesn't work with MIUI for me!
don't understand that, but luckily its not a big deal flashing older versions!

I hear you there! That was me last night! DON'T USE 3.0.0.5! The only fix I found to actually work was to completely format my SD card and then re-partition it, then use RA and a fresh install. What a pain in the arse!
Same thing here. Switched to 3.0.0.5, and the next thing, my ext was fried and I had to reformat the entire card. Could be coincidence, but...

Hey guys, I'm having a problem
Sorry if I'm posting this in a wrong area
Well, I'm using CyanogenMod 7.2.0 stable by Kabaldan for Milestone A853. Then I tried to install CyanogenMod 9 Nightly (from Skrilax build bot), the latest version. Everything was going well, then when I tried to boot, a screen about "Android is updating applications" appeared, and then after updating, the phone hard rebooted, back to the M logo. Then I left it booting again, and it rebooted again, though this time the update screen didn't appeared. Sometimes I get the first screen to appear, but I can't even touch the phone because it reboots before I try to do so. I tried installing CyanogenMod 10 (Skrilax nightly build bot again) and the same error happened! What is happening to my phone? I've never found anyone with this problem
Please help me! Thanks.
Did you perform a full wipe before applying CM9/10?

If by full wipe you mean the three wipe options in OpenRecovery (Dalvik, Data and Cache) then yes. I even deleted the /system folder and nothing!
UPDATE: I tried to install CM10, removed system, data and cache through ADB and dalvik cache, installed CM10 and gapps. When booting, the first screen asking for language rapidly appears, and reboots. I tried to boot again, then I rapidly touched the screen when the screen appeared, and it didn't reboot! Well, that's better, but CM10 is too lagged for daily use, that's why I want to install CM9!
I'm using CM10 from couple of days..
I get enough RAM to run apps that I daily use...check for unwanted apps that are not being used, disable it through hwa setting app. Just use it for a day .. IMO CM10 is better than CM9.
BTW I removed gtalk, maps, email, exchange service and other unwanted apps from OR...which I don't use at all..

If nothing solves your problem, you should reflash the SBFs and start all over again. I had to do this sometimes. Formatting the SDCard (after backing-up your personal data) also helps to prevent this from ocurring.
Well, never mind, I was robbed saturday. Thanks for the help folks
Sad! But it's a chance to get a better phone. Good luck!

and BPSW for 2.1.1 is needed? or optional?
It's optional.
You only have to wipe data,dalvik-cache and data (you will lose all your information, so backup everything) and to create an ext partition on your sdcard.

yeah I know, I read the dev thread but can't make replies there. I am now on CM10 from 09/24 (last 4.1.1) and considering about CM10 4.2 but I was little bit confused about BPSW. And will there be problem If I will uprgade from 2.2? Because I don't have nandroid backup of 2.1
(FYI, the current CM10 is based on Android 4.1.2.
4.2 will be the next version of Android and probably CM11 will be based on it.)
Anyway, i upgraded from 2.2 to 4.0.4 and then to 4.1.1 and now 4.1.2.
I believe you can upgrade from 2.2 to 4.1.2 without any problem.
(but always make a nandroid before upgrading)
Yes, it's perfectly possible upgrade from 2.2 Stock ROM, although it's more difficult to root it.
I did it without any problems.
Is there any difference between upgrading from 2.1 or from 2.2?

Yeah, sorry for that mistake, my fault. I upgraded from 2.2 to 4.0.4 and now I have 4.1.1. I tried to upgrade to 4.1.2 from 4.1.1 but it was laggy (10/16 and 10/17) so I restore it back to 4.1.1 which is pretty stable and I will wait to better time for this upgrade, because it is my main phone and my boss is upset when I am not available when he calls me

I've read somewhere, that one must upgrade to 2.2 because upgrading from 2.1 will cause problem with some hardware module.

Kabaldan is working on it. It seems, if the CPU's clockspeed is under 600MHz, then something is wrong with the GPU performance. (So you should consider using Performance CPU governor.)

I know that someone wrote it in dev thread for CM9 or CM10, but my battery is pretty weak, I am glad that with Juice defender it lasts for 12 hours and Performance governor is pretty aggressive to battery drain. Anyway thanks for answering my nooby questions
