Hi guys,
I get a "crypto error" when trying to update to Froyo on the latest version of Kies. While downloading the firmware on to Kies it suddenly stops and says "crypto error".
Can someone please help me with this?

hii i faced crypto error, but i did it 2nd time successfully. So try again..it works

The problem seems only for UAE users lol
its server problem not the phone maybe we are far away to much? lol
my proxy program is not working to test if i can do that cuz my ISB will be changed to another world lol. can someone of you guys try to use a proxy and give it a shot?
im doing my best with kies i even added some DNS to test but it didnt work
i just dont want to use odin kies is better -.-

Like what i said my VPN had problems so i used hotspot shield you can download it from download.com
start it when it load open your kies and try again it will download it i even didnt lose any app
i dont know why we cant use our ISB but i think its ****ed up

I am going to try the hotspot shield later today. Can anyone else try it and let me know if it worked for them. I read on some other forums that if you turn off your anti-virus and firewall it has worked for some people.
Please keep updating here if you are able to get it to work or not.

I tried this and it did not work. I tried turning off my Anti-Virus and Windows Firewall. Also downloaded Hotspot Shield but then the internet was not working and was unable to upgrade on Kies. Does anyone know how to use hotspot shield in the UAE and to make it work??
crypto errors - samsung server
I've tried to update about 50 times over the last week. It finally worked.
It's Samsung server probems. When you start downloading via Kies, the download breaks but it does not stop the installation programme. When it tries to decompress and decrypt the damaged files you get the CryptoError.
Finally it worked for me today. There is only one solution to this at the moment - keep updating till you drop dead or manage to do it.
Kies is a joke!

Updated finally to froyo. I think it was something wrong with the samsung server. In a day I used to try least 5 times. Phew! I think you guys must try it. Maybe they fixed it now. The update is really good. There are some UI changes but minor. Best of luck.
@imad604 Many users are not able to use hotspot in UAE. Try updating to froyo now i think it's fixed.

I just got my new Optimus 2x in.
After 2 days using it and draining a lot of battery life installing apps and getting the phone the way I liked it.
The LG apps installed on it started to annoy me bigtime.
So i did the most respectfull thing every tweaker does, i rooted the phone.
Installed the Titanium Backup software and started deleting LG apps.
The deleting part went perfect, then my screen turned black and the only thing working was the kill andriod app software on top.
So i pulled the battery and rebooted, nothing.... the phone got stuck at the LG logo.
Did a Hard reset Volume down + the power button.
It started the installation --> google login --> setting up extra account --> and then got the error about a wizard having problems.
So i guess my rom is corrupt.
Tried updating trough the LG software - emergency and got the message "not possible anymore".
Tried updating trough KDZ firmware update tool but it can not find the phone*.
*Downloaded the original firmware from a thread located here.
Does anybody know how to get in emergency mode so i can try different things.
Or maybe other options i could consider?
If not i'd might considering sending it in for warranty.
But it boots so there must be a way to get things working again.

I rooted it with superoneclick.
--small update--
If i skip the setup part after my google login, i can force stop the wizard error.
But it does not go into android itself, i get the top bar but thats it.
The LG software recocgnizes my phone but says it's OK and it does not need a update.
Wait for android 2.2.3?
That might do the trick, but then i might have to wait more than 2 weeks
1.Turn the power off. If your LG Optimus 2X is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
2.Hold the Home and Volume Down button
3.Press and hold the Power button until the device turns on
4.Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your device
That's the only option, on this time.

Try boot your phone to android then connect it to pc and run adb shell if shell working put all apk,s from rom dump here.
You have to copy all files to /system/app.
I'll give it a try tomorrow, have to get to work in like 3 hours =)

Actually, if you get the notification bar, Android is working.
Sounds like you just deleted the Launcher, did you replace it?
If not, adb install and new launcher and you'll be good to go. Although you'll want one on your system partition too!

Thanks i downloaded it.
But the thing is i can't run adb it gives me the error: device not loaded.
Tried installing the google usb drivers, gives me a no can do.
Another thing i figured out is this: Installing LG PC Suite IV.
It does give me the device connected, but i can not update.
* Can sync contacts
* Can sync Favourites
* Can sync Memo's
But no update (because it's not out yet)
Isn't there a way to fool the suite there is an update but in fact it's just the old firmware and replacing it (making it a repair).

Obtained the LGLauncher.apk and emailed it to my google account!

as i said in the other thread you should use root explorer to copu the launcher to /system/app
if you dont it will be gone again if you ever factory reset.
And next time dont delete stuff... just freez it from titanium... Frozen apps are gone (cant be started by the system or seen in launcher) but you get them all back if you factory reset (so no risk of bricking)
OK... we dont get the few megs of free space by freezing... but that is not really an issue on this phone.
Ok, If like me you should have your Mango update official through Zune and you haven't there's a way to force Zune to update your Windows Phone 7 Device.
This worked for me on my HD7.
What you need to do
1) Connect your Windows Phone to Zune.
2) Make sure your defiantly connected via USB.
3) Navigate to the settings and then to phone settings.
4)Click the update button. (Zune will now check for updates for your phone)
5) After a COUPLE of SECONDS when Zune still says "checking for update", quickly disconnect from your internet connection. Disconnect whilst Zune is still checking for updates.
6) You will either get a connection error, or you will get a message saying there is an update available for your device. If may take a few times of connecting and disconnecting but you will get the update available message.
7)After receiving the Update Available message, connect back to your internet and click update.
8) Complete the update process. This could take up too 50mins depending on your internet connection.
9) BOOOM. Hello MANGO! =)
One thing to add that I've been reading from folks; if you have 7008, 7390, or 7392, you will get OS upgrade 7403 1st, then it rolls into 7720.68..which is Mango...DO NOT DISCONNECT YOUR PHONE AFTER 7403!!!

Dude... It worked.... awesome... installing right now. tried first it showed update then in the middle it closed cause Zune was updating at the same time. So had to complete zune update first, then tried again and again and again... 6th try it showed again and now in the middle of update 7.5..

Works a treat - but what about firmware
Hey, just updated it and Mango is working a treat. However a few of the live tiles are broken now...most notably the music and video tile for Zune.
Do you know off hand if forcing also installs firmware? I'm on HTC HD7

For those who haven't completed this yet, keep trying, it will work, as for network branded im not all to sure. But im sure if there is an carrier update version available,. you will also get it via this method. I cant imagine you will install the unlocked version if you have carrier locked device.

I'll never buy a Mac again.
Having a complete and utter ***** of a time waiting for, then updating Parallels, then extending my virtual disk, etc., etc., just to install this update.
Update: Some time later, after extending the virtual disk (Parallels), re-installing a bunch of stuff, etc., etc., the update is downloading. All of this is to say that you can follow the forced update procedure using a Mac and Parallels. I probably could have done it using W7Phone Connector and the wireless toggle method, but I live the hard way.
[Just make sure your SIM card is actually IN the phone ... and] [C]lick "Yes" when Parallels asks you whether you'd like to continue the USB device settings in your virtual machine; i.e., when your phone automatically restarts, Parallels won't automatically assign its USB connection to your virtual machine unless you've already set it up to automatically assign the connection to XP/7.
Just tried this for my HTC Trophy I had the and it worked after 10 times...
Just to let you know... Patience is a must I noticed... I found it play up when I moved to different usb port that worked straight away

Waited about a second before flicking off the wireless on my laptop.
Had to do it 4 times to update Zune and then get all WP7 updates but it was all pretty painless..
WP7 Mango on Telstra in Australia working nicely.. Haven't found anything that doesn't work so far!

I have a HD7 with software version 7.0(7032) i disconnect and all i get is the checking for updates and then get told my phone is up to date (current software 7.0(7032) I do not get any error, am i doing something wrong?
I have an HD7S, When I did this i was on 7390. It updated me to 7392??? Shoulnd't it have gone to 7403 1st, then Mango??? Do i need to rollback and try again???
Hi, I've got P7-L10. I'm a programmer and I've realized that each time I disconnect my phone from pc usb debugging is turning off and in "connect as" window (which pops when device is connected) it's forgetting what was set before and switching to usb sd mounting (even "don't ask again" doesn't work). Why is that so? It's pretty damn annoying.

I've manually updated my software (ota wasn't available) to 609 and problem no longer occurs. At least for a few connects/disconnects.

Im on B123 (vodafone) right now - I dont care one damn about losing the custom stuff vodafone put on, if anything i want it gone... Is there a way to flash a full package of B6** rather than upgrade?

unknown to me, I purchased a Gear Live that was developer edition and would not update... I used one of the tutorials on the site to get it back to 4.4 ( thank you ) ... it will boot now and connect to the phone, but when I hit SYSTEM UPDATE it displays a big GREY X and then says ERROR, TRY AGAIN....How can I get it to update ?? I have reset the watch numerous times and as I say, have finally got it to software version 4.4W from the developer edition 4.4W1.... thank you for any help you can give me...I also tried Samsung Kies to update it but it wont recognize the watch

I had a similar problem once and could fix it using that thing.
Got it figured out...spent 6 hours trying to get it to download the update..reflashed, rebooted, used the tool, EVERYTHING !!! Gave up on it at work as i kept getting DOWNLOADING,OOPS SOMETHING WENT WRONG, TRY AGAIN ....ONLY to find out that when i left work and tried downloading AGAIN away from the works network, IT DOENLOADED FINE ! Something on the network blocked it i guess and would not let it download. ARGHHH ! Thanks for your help !
