hello all
i would like to discuss about bugs in roms + kernels that you use or have used, so we can easily choose the one we like/need/choose
so far i have tried:
1. CM9 + Nova HD 1.1.0
- couldn't get over the fact of non working camera and video acceleration
2. CM 7.2.0 stable + default kernel
- main problem was random network loos and bricking over night while charging...
- any other CM7 nightly or stable rom + any kernel haven't solved those 2 problems...
3. DjangoManouche 1.2.1 + Harsh kernel
- when starting Wifi hotspot, it reports error
My current setup:
ROM: DjangoManouche 1.2.1
Kernel: guestekrnL-v1.8.1-HighOC-BestBattery
ICS Transformation Pack
been using my current setup for 7 days now, no bugs detected yet...
What about you, your setup and bugs you've noticet in time...please write here...
The latest Temasek CM7 build along with his kernel. Currently I'm using the Etana Kernel without OC though. Works fine too.

ALL CM9 ROMS - after flash - smooth and fast, after few days of using slow as hell
I am using WIUI 2.3.7 for 10 days now. It's so bugless and stable and responsive that it's boring to use after I've set it up to my liking. It just works and it's so battery friendly. Three days phone usage with music playing like 1 hour a day and talking for like 15-20 minutes. Oh and yeah, data is OFF only during night. It's the best ROM I've used. Ever.
cm7
Cm7 kang 121 or what ever i think tesmaks kernel had a other but was to compliqated but now i still nit happy because for driver with any over clock app i only have power save or perfemance, but i like ondemand but yeah so
Same ass you cm7 phone off after charge at night need pull out battery and put it back in to restart phone..... ow and i have a sd bug
Some times the phone doesnt see my 16 gb sd card but keeps looking for it, so the sd card slot is over heating but realy hot like to hot to touch so yeah.
Somw bugs but yeah wait for cm9 i mean full ics and then cm9
But battery is okay i have baseband 725v10(something) and rill same and is realy good and i think powersave helps to but voila.
My setup
I am using
ROM CM7.20120701 with
Kernel CM7 ETaNa_LOC_DS
overclocked to 1216 MHz
only issue so far is the dock dissapears once in a while and i have to reset ADW EX. then it comes back... other than that its an amazing setup and kernel...BIG thanks goes to the developers :good:
1. Temasek Build 130
- best ROM without any BSOD problem im using temasek rom stock kernel
- no leakage of ram after 60hrs up time
- BUGS: i dont konw if its bug but the widget of application that i installed is not shown in widget selections
2. Paranoidandroid
- super smooth perfect font size but the ram is too low as i remember its around 140-200mb newly flash
3. chuck norris
- great rom but after a few minutes it have BSOD i test it by locking and unlocking my phone quickly in temasek rom i do that also never experienced it when im using stock cm7 kernel
- low ram because of the go launcher it have a lot go launcher processes
4. MIUI
- iphone experience very smooth but same thing as chuck norris lot of background process because of the go launcher

Tried many, including owen's cm9 and temasek's cm7. Problem is they all end up being sticky as syrup unless you do a factory reset every fortnight or even more frequently. So for me, the best solution is stock LG ROM with stock kernel, rooted. I still need to do the resets, but I am experiencing fewer bugs. I still appreciate all the hard work from all of you developers, though.
Temasek 135 on v20q(italy) BB : gps drains battery
Hi all,
my first post on XDA, hope it helps.
Temasek 135 on v20q(italy) BB
Phone sold (and bought) in Italy.
LG original USB Charger
LG original included Battery
(LG FL-53HN 1500mAh)
Battery age: about 1 year
OPERATOR : WIND Italia
initial ROM : Stock V20Q (italian original ROM)
phone rooted, CWM installed
installed TEMASEK 135 (all default : ril 0218, Temasek135 kernel)
installed gapps
installed Google maps 6.11.1
CPU : Default (frequency range : 216/1000)
TESTING :
Short version : everything ok, except
- battery drain with gps/wifi localization
- volume keys sometimes don't wake up phone.
Long version:
OVERALL STABILITY : OK
1) RADIO HW:
1a) 2G : ok ; 2G/3G : ok
1b) WIRELESS
-Wireless client : seems ok
-AP(hotspot): no encryption : ok ; encrypted : ??
1c) GPS : may fail to fix. Solution: start gps and reboot phone.
(this appears to be a generic android gingerbread problem)
1d) Bluetooth : still to be tested.
2)TEGRA2 HW Acc
2a) GAME : GUERRILLA BOB THD v1.0 : 1hr of continuous playing, OK.
2b) VIDEO RECORDING (internal memory; temasek135's stock camcorder): ok
2c) VIDEO PLAYING
MXplayer + "codec armv7" (optimized for tegra2) : seems ok
3) UI/SYSTEM APPS
Volume keys to wake phone : faulty
4) BATTERY
phone had battery problems:
-reduced cpu mhz range to 216-500 : didn't help
-lowered display light, didn't help
- locked to 2G, helped a bit
- stopped localization : (close GPS AND wifi localization) : PROBLEM SOLVED
so, it seems that google maps 6.11.1 + gps AND/OR WIFI location is a problem.
Eagles blood ics build 4 seems to be great working camera video and pretty much everything else.

New Sheriff in town?
with NOVAHD i had a strange bug... i kept loosing the networkkk over and over...
paranoid android is the best ICS rom so far! with only cm9 native bugs cause of drivers and etcetera.... =)
Hi guys, I've tried some roms and here are my experiences:
Gueste2X v3.6 Hybrid Revolution: Really smooth rom, had to remove the battery when I charged at nights and when the phone wake up the airplane mode was on
ParanoidAndroid [Build 10]: Smoothest ICS rom I've tried, had problem losing the network, only a reinstalling I could fixed the issue and stability issues.
DjangoManouche 1.5 RCQ 4 SpicaKernel : Stable rom, it's not the smoothest but does the job, no random FC or bsod issues. It's the rom I've always returned.
MIUI v2.3.7f: Had some issues with it, performace related and some bsod when charged at nights.
WIUI 2.5.25: Nice rom but for me Django's performace was better.
Nova HD Rebuild v1.1.0: Good at the first days but then went all laggy and lot's of FC.
Eagles Blood: good rom but had a problem where my battery stats disappeared and the only way to fix it was reinstalling.
Hope it helps. Sorry for my bad english.

Are you sure? Because the usually, the CM9 roms have working camera app, when you switch to video you still have running picture, but then you hit the button to record, the app goes FC.
Ola amigos !!!
Its nice to have everyones opinions ! Pritty easy to find out whats the best rom currently out!
So here is my short report!
ROM - MokeeOS -v1.10.436-V2 for O2X
Im using this rom for about 7 days (1week) and the complete rom is perfect. The 1 and only reason Im hitting an other one is becouse Mokees port is getting every single night a BSOD! Oh, Im sorry, and when you make a longer call, about 10 mins or more, It just freezes. Wont let you back into it. Just black screen and you can talk onwards.
Pritty sad about that point but what can we do hopefully the devs are gonna fix it !

I tested Nova HD Rebuild v.1.1.0: At first it got my approval. But after a while it got laggy. So I share your experience.
After that ParanoidAndroid now on build 11: Great rom. I had no problems losing network. Even battery life ist good. I got stuck on it so I can recommend it.

Installing as I type! Can't wait the original kernel to get the battery related patches!
I am having a wired problem - after a while on standby, upon waking up the phone, it freezes. Clock doesn't advance and phone does not respond on buttons/slider. So I do a soft-reset after which in winmo I get a message sdcard is not formatted, do I want to format it. and indeed file system is damaged. And this happens for a second time in a row now! I havent had problems like that with other distributions, at least ones that require ext2 partition. Anyone have advice?

So far, it's perfect. Two issues that need to be resolved before I use it permanently is the charging and the battery drain.

Which kernel did you use? Included one (=21/8) or that from SuperFroyo??

Sorry, was in a bit of a rush
Working: Marketplace, WiFi, GPS, battery meter, sound, messaging, gmail app, browser, ( bluetooth, I think )
Not: Camera, charging, power management
Used: Only the included files, nothing more.

@all Developers:
Thank you very much for the good work, keep it up
@the rest:
I wish you good luck, that you can enjoy android on your X1 as i will do it on my new phone.
Maybe i'll look back in here from time to time, to see the progress.

report?
Total performance is smooth
My location , Wi-Fi, Market , Battery Meter , GMail, Sound, Music is working
other function. i didn't use it.
Overall performance is good, but Force Close dialog is too much show..... when i try to do anything. there's a delay (about 5~10sec?)
All of you guys should really post which kernel you are using. It will be very helpful for the developers!
I am downloading at the moment, will try the kernels and post the results
Original kernel + points about FroyoRedux:
- Charging works (I had it plugged when I launched Android, actually does increase WM battery percentage, too)
- Battery meter shows too much, but I think it will calibrate itself if I finish charging
- Speaker bug is there, headphone plug and unplug fixes that
- A bit faster than CyanogenMod6 with Tremere's kernel
- Nice theme
- Mass storage does not work (should I install a driver or something?)
- Sometimes stops responding to any other key than the top power button = home
- 3D does not work
- Sound and calling work fine, cannot adjust in-call volume (possibly due to the keys not working, but I had this problem with CM6+Trem too)
- Pretty much every app works, YOUTUBE TOO (lags a bit, but works)!
New testkernel:
- Phone reboots when first screen of android comes up
- I just replaced files, it crashed at lockscreen
- Ran a new installation, it crashed at black android system (title) -window
SuperFroyo kernel:
- Fastest one, menu scrolling is pretty nice with this kernel
- 3D does not work, Neocore crashes
- Sound works
- Youtube works, and lags less than with original kernel
- Charging does not work, battery meter shows what comes to it's mind

Tried copy/paste of those two files straight into root of SD-card (can only guess as it's not written anywhere). Phone reboots as soon as it comes to PIN-code page. Tried to restart a couple of times but nope.
Tried the SuperFroyo-kernel as well. Much faster in comparison to kernel from tremere's build 21/8.
Else, nothing more to add other then lkoljo wrote.
Big thx!
tried this kernel
xperia-xdandroid-kernel-20100922
Sound didn't work??
I'm useing the test kernel now, and it booted up without any problems
Gonna test Battery life for 2 hours, then switch back to vm to see if it gives good result's
Did you use the test-kernel from scratch. I mean when first booting up? or did you try first included kernel then after booting up you replaced kernel? I ask this because it's just not clear for me: You say it works w/o hassle and others report that they can't even get into the Launcher or that they have a black screen. I am just confused now
I did first use Tremere's Kernel with your build, and then i just copied the test kernel start from vm and booted it up. It's fast and stable it seems, i did use Android in standby mode for one and half hour. Well i did look around in system meny and such tried calling it but no signal just vibrate wich i did turn on. Battery used in android is 20% from fully charged 100% Switch back to vm says 78% so the meter seems almost correct. Tried original charger but it didn't work, Then tried pc usb charging and it seems to work Gonna try Xdandroid's new kernel now released today. Will get back to you tomorrow
I have now tested the new Xdandroid kernel released 23/9/10 for one and half hour now, switched back to vm and guess what?
i had 100% when i started android, used it for one and a half hour and then i switched back to vm it had only used 9% battery
Thats the best result i ever had using android, so hey if only sound/ mic problem gets fixed then this would be great
Grab the new kernel from thier Xdandroid wiki
I have tested 21/09/2010 [Xperia X1][FroyoRedux-Port][CM6] with the latest kernel from xdandroid (23/9/10) and it works very well, stable and fast. And the battery is a big improvment!!
I also overclocked it to 640mhz and the UI is then superfast.
Keep up the good work

FYI: In the next days there will be heavy updates regarding some of my builds. Fixed almost everything I could! Just trying out today some of the kernels released lately and then I think we will have a really really good CM6-Ports ready for all of you! Everything that's working in XDAndroid "Final" should then also work for us! So maybe I will call my builds "Pre-Final". Another thing that I should mention is that user ferlanero from xda-devs has today shipped over his X1 from Spain to Germany (my location). Once I receive it I will be going to try some NAND-related stuff!
X1 from user sequester will be my porting-device to test ports and latest nightlies from Cyanogen
X1 from user ferlanero will be my nand-test-device
Be prepared to get the proposed updates (see above) on this weekend. Again speical thanx to sequester and ferlanero for supporting me! This really motivates me in doing all this stuff!
Yes zimage to at lest i did
o.k. These will be two posts actually.. I installed CM7 on my p990h-v10f using this very helpful guide http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/LG_Optimus_2X:_Full_Update_Guide . Backup didn't really work, but I didn't know until I tried to use Clockworkmod to restore and got all thos md5 errors (fixed) then another error. Anyways, I went back to a FIDO stock ROM using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1008070 , using the fido ROM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035041 . The aforementioned guide is talking about baseband , but you can use it for stock ROM. Now, FIDO ROM (p990hn-v21b) wasn't the original ROM, but it still worked. But once I connected to LG PC SUITE , checked for udpate, selected to go with it, it went back to actual original ROM (p990h-v10F) which was very weird for me. But, this means that anybody wanting to go back to original ROM, can just selected any stock ROM from those stock ROMs on XDA and LG PC Suite will get the device back to original ROM. Now why did I install CM7 then went back to stock, is in the next post...
---------- Post added at 03:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:21 AM ----------
Stock Rom
Pros:
-LG PC Suite Calendar, local (usb or bluetooth or wifi) sync , no need for cloud sync
- Compatible with LG PC Suite ( not very important though , as I mostly use my phone explorer ), just in case you need an official upgrade.
Cons:
- Froyo
-Bluetooth headsets (I tried a few) cont. disconnect while it still shows connected
-screen goes off once call connects when on bluetooth
-important screens don't rotate (settings , dialer, etc…)
-Voicemail indicator stuck on forever (unless you put sim card into another phone, call that phone, leave a VM, call VM and delete it, put sim back in P990), VM went on as soon as LG Stock rom was reinstalled… even before receiving any calls …
CM 7
Pros:
- Gingerbread
- super amazingly fast
- awesome animations, transitions
- absolute customization ability...
Cons
- On dialer; dialpad freezes after call connects if bluetooth headset is already connected
- no A2DP on bluetooth
-dialer screen rotates but dialpad will then be hidden behind other options
-dialer screen rotates but call reject button won't be there
- Battery EATER… BATTERY EATER …. BATTERY EATER
- VERY SLOW GPS FIX in GOOGLE NAVIGATION, even though maps get the fix normal
- GOOGLE Calendar is default, you can't install another calendar that would show up under Calendars in the Calendar app, which essentially means CLOUD Calendar.. I don't want that , -LG PC Suite Calendar, local (usb or bluetooth or wifi sync) , no need for cloud sync
---------- Post added at 03:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:32 AM ----------
So, will MoDaCo ROM fix those issues with Stock ROM and CM7 ... Any Idea ??? ..
Forgot to mention; Android is just awesome .....

Ive been using cm7 for months but i never see cm7 is a battery hog,i can say,i choose cm7(after tryin all,n i mean ALL other roms),bcoz of it gave me the best battery life so far.Maybe its depending on regions basebands etc2?
And as for gps navigation,i used sygic n papago x5,gpsfix is acceptable, below 40sec cold start.
You forgot about the stock rom leaked, the v20c. The OS Flair or the one by topogigi. I installed the Os Flair and everything is good so far! (with a2dp hdmi resolution auto and radio).
Or and I was in CM nightlies and it was a disaster in battery usage, even with setcpu.
With CM7 i have strange noises on the other end (during calls, like di.di.di.di.di.di) and loosing mobile network connection always.

Am I the only one that cant get contact with my carrier with all gb roms except for CM7? Its so weird...
"And as for gps navigation,i used sygic n papago x5,gpsfix is acceptable, below 40sec cold start."
What is sygic n papago x5 ???
"You forgot about the stock rom leaked, the v20c. The OS Flair or the one by topogigi. I installed the Os Flair and everything is good so far! (with a2dp hdmi resolution auto and radio)."
As per my post , whatever stock ROM you flash back to, once u update thru LG PC Suite , you get back to the original rom. Plus, even with the v21b, my device still had same issues as with v10f. Also what is OS Flair or the one by topogigi ? are these custom roms ?
Papago X5 n sygic is a navigation apps. Try google about it,lots better than google map. Ofcoz, its juz my opinion though..
I am opposed to buying any navigation software if you already have an A- one on your cell....
No body said anything about their experience with MoDaCo rom vs the stock or CM7 ????
for me cm7 is the best rom and i dont have any problems, i get gps lock in 10 sec or under, and the battery life is good, i get around 2 days.

Please tell me your baseband version your ril and nightly.
baseband 725 ril 725 i think i'm on 123 but i never had a problem with any of the nightly i have been using since i started use cm7
Been using cm7 for 3 days now, not a single problem (I don't use fm or a2dp). Great battery life and MUCH smoother than stock rom. Stock rom was good to (never had a crash or reboot), but CM7 is way better... Never tried Modaco.
For those of you who says CM7 didn't present any problem for them, you didn't encounter any of the issues in my initial post ?... Just read it again and please tell me you didn't .. for if you didn't, other the calendar issue , I would give it another try....
Please, any MoDaCo users come forward and tell us about their experience ..
You seriously compared stock to CM?
Haven't got any problems with my phone. CM7#127 + 823BB
No SODS, no reboots, 12hour battery life, no network loss.
CM7 a battery hog? No way, im still on 36 % battery after 20 hours... And thats on normal usage.. (music, calls, sms, games etc etc)
And with stock my battery was drained after about 17 hours normal usage..
i prefer miui..
my benchmark is 5000 with it.. hihi
Just wana bring this topic up again.
With the current status, stock , cm7 , and miui, which gives more stability and more battery ?

Every three roms are good choice. At this time all roms are very stable. The battery life is good and work fast. You need to focus other features, like functionality and appearance. (My favourite is CM7 with etana kernel. This is the winner combination to me.)

i think you should include MIUI rom.
Hi everyone
Recently, i've updated my i9000 from cm9 to cm10. But i found it a little bit laggy, there is too much data run in the background and my phone can't just handel it. Some app don't work anymore (i have some message after an unsuccefull update saying "out of memory").
Do i have to wait for further updates or should i go back to the latest CM9 ?
PS: Is there any tips to prevent the shuting down signal problem with the i9000 ?
Hey,
I've had the same feeling about CM10 being laggy on my I9000. Hopefully it's just another bug.
And it is a well known issue that some apps aren't still running yet.
I went back to CM9.1 which runs really smooth. I'm gonna wait for a CM10 stable version and check if it's still laggy.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
Yust move apps to SD, CM10 has a new partition layout.. That solve the problem of low space
Try elitemovil rc12.1 which is faster and smooter than stock sgs3
GT-I9000 cihazımdan Tapatalk 2 ile gönderildi
You should try the new nightlies, hardly any lag at all.
All jellybean roms get laggy no matter what you do, I tried most of the JB roms and I used HellyBean for a while with super launcher (a custom supercharge for galaxy s) and it kept working fine because somehow by flashing a new rom version often the phone would stay fine (wasn't just wipe cache and dalvik)
But I'm now back to ICS because even if most of the time the phone is doing fine, when you need it the most it starts failing even overclocked at 1.4 and with performance mode and swap, so I will wait 11 days and buy the nexus 4 !
Jelly bean runs fine on my phone to be honest. No lag or nothing. Only ROM that's ever lagged is hellybean.

My experience is the exact same as the one you quoted.
I believe the clue to having a stable jb is to avoid most of the non-vanilla settings. I.e people come in various jb threads claiming bugs and unstability, while having oced, deep idle, custom kernels with experimental settings, not having wiped, flashed the wrong package - lots of issues that are experimental and not stock and stable.
The question of what is stable is relative, but I'm convinced that the ability to read, knowledge, proper flashing and simple logic would help avoid 9 out of 10 "unstable" jellybean experiences.
I am aware this might come over as a bit condescending, and I guess that's partially true, but it's not directed at any particular person here.
Sent from horseback.
people, CM10 is the best. I've never had such a great rom, I mean, the SGS I is old, but with CM10, oh boy... I've never had such a good battery life, such a smooth rom, and non laggy ( helly bean was a disaster, it lagged a lot and very few updates).

people, CM10 is the best. I've never had such a great rom, I mean, the SGS I is old, but with CM10, oh boy... I've never had such a good battery life, such a smooth rom, and non laggy ( helly bean was a disaster, it lagged a lot and very few updates).

i cant believe that so many ppl are busting HB.
laggy disaster?
first of all, HB is a CM10 too.
and beside this HB isnt laggy!
sometimes it depends on the phone, cos a SGS1 is not a SGS1. so many differences available...
best is, just try some JB ROMs and decide for urself!
I never had problems with CM10 . Run smooth .
I think is the best ROM i had experienced on my SGSI .
I installed slimbean (cm10 based) recently on my i9000m and its a tad laggy when I am pushing it but overall its better than the last stock GB rom that I had been on for a long time (got tired flashing this and that). And its stable too. Overall the switch has been nice, for the main reason that I have less of a desire for the SGS 3 (hey there's always the 4 one day right?)
My experience with cm10.1 has been roller coaster. To day it is fast and smooth but yesterday it is leggy and gets stuck. I frequently get popups of applications not responding etc. The i click wait and it gets done.
Before you throw me with rotten tomatoes let me give you the steps that i followed.
Got a brand new i9000 from from a warranty claim a month ago.
Flashed cm10.1 nightly using Cwm after having to work around a few bugs with the new heimdall program not being compatible. But with CWM on I no longer needed the pc.
Download a nightly (26 Feb)
So did a factory reset and wiped everything. Flashed cm10.1 nightly again just to make sure. Then loaded a modem that seems to work for my area. The modem is a XXJVR and is a ICS modem. then flashed Google app for jb 4. 2.2.
Rebooted and logged in. Restored all my sms using sms+ backup and restore
Installed all my preferred application from play Store.
It started nice but soon became slow and large.
So I updated to 10.1m2. Same problem.
At this moment it is workable. It takes about 6 counts to respond to changing from portrait to landscape. If i turn it one the home screen takes about 2 counts to get updated and responsive.
Holding the home button gives you the recent application list. It takes about 2 counts to respond with a vibration and then 2 to 3 more counts before the menu pops up and the list of recent applications have been populate. I don't know if this is normal but 5 counts feels forever when you decide to do something and need to wait for the system to be ready.
I am not over clocking and I am running no custom kernels.
The notification bar at first comes down in jumps. If i do it again it is smooth.
But the biggest frustration is typing. The lag between presses and haptic feedback seems to be random. It is always under a half a second but when you want to type you never know if it got the press or not. Just as you think you need go repress the letter updates.
Battery life is also erratic. Yesterday the phone was uncomfortable hot in my pocket all day. Battery did not make 14h. Today it is cool and it is at 73 % for 9h.
The main battery life is taken by android OS and screen. Not calls or any of the chat apps that I use. Yesterday Android OS took half my battery life.
Going to apps the zoom is jumpy and sliding jumps. If i do it again it is smooth.
And today is a good day.
Any suggestions what I can do to improve the performance? Except getting a new phone.
H
I don't think I can quite relate to that, my phone runs CM10.1 quite well...
Had to be said though that I can feel my phone struggles running it, pushing the limits pretty hard.
My phone has the slow RAM, unfortunately, I'm sure a lot of the people posting stories of glory are ones with the faster version.
That said, I could never in a million years go back to an earlier version, I know my phones limits and work around them without too much trouble, mainly browsing (using Chrome) is the one thing my phone struggles with.
But regarding your erratic phone behavior, have you installed a startup manager and better battery stats?
Android battery stats doesn't always do a very good job of reporting exactly what apps or background processes are draining over time...

It been quite some time now, but have you been able to fix your erratic behaviour? Cause I'm experiencing something similar.
I tried Slim JB & Fishears Rom so far. Right after flashing, without any apps, the roms seem to be running smooth but Slim JB soon became laggy so I tried out Fishears Rom which seemed to behave smoothly even after installing some apps.
But after several month of usage the system slowed down almost as much as it was with Slim JB.
As both of them are based on CM I guess it's a general problem that the SGS 1 just can't handle the new Rom + big amout of apps. Sometimes it runs relatively smooth if I cleared RAM etc and didn't start any apps, but as soon as I for example listen to music in the background everything just becomes laggy :-/
I guess after 3 years my SGS1 is just too old now^^

Hi. No I gave up. My first SGS1 was amazing and did not behave like this. I think it had faster ram. Due to some issue it was replaced under warranty. The replacement looks the same but it is very frustrating. I am running stock rom now 2.3.4 with almost nothing installed. But it find that it is a pain. Calling takes long to actuality start to dial. The screens are smooth but when you do things. Like flip between apps or go to dialler it is almost unusable.
I think Samsung release more expensive variations in the beginning and then keep the look the same but drop the cost of the handset to the end.
Hi.
I'm a noob in this custom business and i have a i9000 and i just flashed CM10.1.2 and everything is ok but i want to use igo and after install i get an error about the sd card. How can i use igo?
What is best CM10 or ICS? Your thoughts and opinions welcome.
Especially regarding a daily use rom. What experince with H/W acceleration in both especially with gameloft gaming.
Glitches pros and cons for both roms?
What's your experience?
Here is mine
CM10 nightly.
Very buggy camera kills it for me for starters.
Odd lockups and random freezing.
Games work fine and external sd can be swapped with internal very easy.
Bluetooth okay
Wifi okay
Calls messy at times with noise dropouts.
Browser lockups
Sms fine
Battery poor life
ICS 28g Steffans build with clockwork nv flash partition.
Superb camera no issues.
Some slowdows in general but nothing to hard to improve or live with.
Games from gameloft run great so far.
Bluetooth ok
Wifi Seems to need turning on off every so often.
Calls again messy at times with loss of radio.
Browser lockups and hanging.
Sms fine
Battery Poor life at times then great at others. Very strange battery behaviour.
So what's you'r experiences?
I'am on cm10 for long time, have almost no issues but like you said cam is awfull
Is camera in ics leaks really soo much better like you said?Good camera is a must for me couse i take alot of pic's and record video much Tnx
I have been using both CM10 and ICS on mine, and I found that CM10 is smoother but ICS is way more stable of course. The cameras...I haven't found a difference but that's just me. I like a lot of ICS features, and miss some from CM10 too but I guess it's all right.
I'm currently running ICS for about a week or so and no problems at all.
As far as i know, until now, i liked to use ICS fresh from kdz..because i dont want my phone don't have basic function as a phone and i dont want stuck with GB..

ICS--> FC , BSOD and reboot. Better GB.
i have had no problems with the v28e by tony and harsh
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda premium
I do not have any problems with ICS V28G,
Tried ics v28g(old partition style) and no matter what i do i can't get even near to perfomance of cm10
Uninstalling all the lg software and putting no memory hungry launcher and ics still lag's and performes slow on my device.
Never had call issues on any rom so i can't comment on that part...
For me cm10 is much faster then ics i have tried but ics has better camera and looks nicer..
Can't wait for our devs to start kanging cm10
CM10 is the best ROM by far, but the problem Ive been having with no audio in calls made me switch fo ICS. Its not as fast as CM10, but at least ppl can hear me now =D
Have been using the stock ICS rom by tonyp, and I must say that it's great so far.
I have random restarts maybe like once every 3 days, probably due to low ram or my V6 supercharger script..
Camera works fine, I don't really use it though.
Fast, fluent scrolling and stable, no call problems.
The only problem I have is, Chrome and the stock browser lags like mad.. And I have no idea why.
Does anyone know why?
both rom gud,
camera also ok for both. just focusing bug on cm10, and low bit rate on ics video camera.
battery bug on both.
no call issue on both Rom for me.
hardware acceleration have some bug on both.
conclusion both Rom require further bug fixing(they are on their way i think)

I used v28G from kdz, no root, no cwm

I was on Temasek's CM7 Kang wanted to try ICS So First i tested Cm10
No Audio in calls meant i had to change , then came V28E by stefan
then shifted to V28G
Good Things
Camera is very good as compared to CM7
No audio issues on V28E/G although this happened to me once in few calls but it was back to normal in no time.
ICS is a good change, was bored using GB plus lockscreen is good.
Issues
Stock browser is near unusable, others work fine(i use opera mini).
I do notice strange behaviour with the battery sometimes, Wifi drain is hell of a lot compared to Cm7 but do tell me if anyone of u have noticed i think the battery drain on 3g is less with these new roms as compared to CM7
it is less smooth than CM10 but is bearable besides its not like there's a choice who wudnt wanna use CM10 but till the Call issue is sorted i am gonna continue with this one.
i really really miss the Led light notifications on Whatsapp, sms, missed calls, any alternative for that?
i really really hate when it starts to scan media 10 fkin times day, any alternative?
What is the best Threads are not allowed on XDA.
HELP , im using CM10 and i cant conect to my Google account,so no google play as well, dont have the option add google account just e-mail and corporate account.Haven't done a factory reset so i still have my app's from CM7.2,most works great
LOVE the camera app especially video focus in macro, but battery life is bad,
I think I speak for everyone when i say that the main reason people use V28 over CM10 is the call audio bug. I'm using V28E (I dont know the difference between the E and G so if someone would kindly explain the pros and cons) and it is significantly slower than cm 10 but still fairly usable. But honestly, cm10 is BLAZING fast, I've never used a rom that fast before. Its sooo sexyyyy. Damn this call audio bug :crying:
Hello everyone!
I have used both the CM10 and ICS (V28G co-developed by Harsh). The pro's and con's I've observed in these ROMS are as follows-
ICS (V28G leak)-
Pro's-
1)Very stable. No bugs as of now.
2)New interface is of joy to use.
3)Camera works.
4)I see that the CPU is set to a max of 1200MHz.
5)AnTutu benchmark score - 5530 , Nenamark - 42.9 Fps , Quadrant - Significant improvement.
6)No call drop issues.
Con's-
1)Wasn't reading the memory card (External memory) at all. (solved this by creating a new folder called "external_sd" in the root of the internal SD card.)
2)Slow USB charging. Wall charger just works fine.
3)Video recording has its own bugs, that refers to low frame rates.
CM10-
Pro's-
1)Ultra smooth interface.
2)Stable too. Didn't face any hangs after a day of heavy usage.
Con's-
1)Camera is awful. Video recording just lags everytime.
2)Slow charging, both wall charging and USB.
3)Lesser scores in all benchmarks. (Project butter eats them all up)
I'll update more on the ICS as i'm using it currently.
Cheers!
If u want stable better battery n smooth rom, then go for ICS......
If u can live with few bugs n want to experience the speed of jellybean then go for cm10....
I prefer ICS since ill b out for 2-3 days i need more stable n better battery life rom......
Finally its individuals call.......
I'm sticking with ICS V28E, but I'm having troubles with my battery. Seems to die very quickly and sometimes overheats and turns off when i try to wall charge. It also way too long to charge through laptop usb. Anyone having similar problems?
i use v28g by topogigi no bugs found ^^
Just two words... Absolutely Fantastic!
Afer being a CyanogenMod user for many months, the only usable version for me was 10.1.3 RC2. After trying all existing versions including latest CM11 nightly. All had some issue or another.
Then I tried different modified stock ROMS (including Rizal Lovins's modified JB4.3 leaked version -which is close to being one of the best ROMS out there), but none have the fluidity of a CM based rom.
Last night I gave a try to CyanFox, after all, the Tsubasa version was requested by myself. And they did deliver.
What an amazing Rom, love how fast it is and how 98% of the apps I use on a daily basis work perfectly.
I have only found a few issues, but I can live with them.
- Battery life is not as good as with stock rom, but it ain't that bad either
- Camera doesn't let me change location of photos, no option to select external SD card.
Anyway I automatically send all photos to Dropbox, so it doesn't bother me that much.
Having said all this, I strongly recommend everyone to give the rom a try.
You can find the links here...
http://www.cyanfox-rom.com/
I do recommend using Mr Rizal Lovins Z1 keyboard ports, they are a lot better than AOSP stock keyboard
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2196653
Good luck
And I thank all you amazing creators for the excellent work you are doing, my wife doesn't understand how I can fiddle for hours with my phone, but I'm sure you do, and I have to thank you for the great effort you guys put into all this!
:fingers-crossed:

Its based on CM11, but with more 'extras', and so far its working really well.
I got from play store a Z1 theme for Cyanogen, plus Rizal Loving Z1 keyboard and it just works as it should. No FC's yet at all (and strangely it is based on a nightly version of CM11.
I also tried LG Cybershot camera that was ported from Rizal Lovins (fantastic work in all he does). But the CM stock camera works really well and fast. So I'm happy with the stock one.
Best anyone can do is try for themselves. After all, we all have different opinions and views of what we need on a phone.

Guys, don't forget you'll need the Gaps from CyanFox for it to work properly.

How good is the stability when the phone is stressed? like running game and have gps on? Like ingress?
Instability is the only reason why I am on stock based rom.

I haven't got any random reboots yet... so it is a bit more stable.
Battery drain is high, but last night when I woke up only went down 3.4% per hour, according to Better battery stats:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
So when not in use, its not that bad... with stock I would get in sleep mode between 1.5% - 2% per hour.
But the rom is faster and more configurable than stock.

Ahahah not just those
Camera is flickering (green line) and poor quality;
BT is slow and if you try to use BT headphone and listen to the music the quality is poor;
BT Mic quality is terrible;
ART is not working properly (cause FC and reboot);
NO EXTERNAL SD.
IMHO it's not ready to be a daily use ROM

I haven't had any issues with BT, quality seems good to me, been using it in the car and with PowerAmp and sounds just as any other...
But I just had my first Blue Screen... for no reason really, so it isn't as stable as I thought.
Seems there are still issues... I apologize for being so eager to tell everyone how well it goes.
And yes, battery drain is huge... just like CM11 nightly. After all it is based on it.
I will use it a few more days and keep hoping for a Stable, robust and reliable ROM.
when i installed the rom it installed and when i first time used thje rom all going preety okay but when i turn of the screen the display gone blue and restared just like rizal lovins 4.4.2 any idea whats the problem is
Just found out that on 4.4 the WiFi cost more battery drain than 3G. It doesn't let the phone be into deep sleep. So when I turn it off, the battery drain status is better.

You can't flash KK ROM on jellybean ROM directly through cwm, to solve this :
Just flash this ROMs kernel with fastboot, then reboot to recovery and do a clean install.
The rom sure is fast, no bsod or random reboot for 16 hours usage.. The battery usage i think its normal if u think it drain too much revert the brightness to manualy adjust.. For who cant detect the external card.. U can install the CM 10.2 first then install this CF (wipe cache and data only) dont ever wipe system it'll make ext card can't read by ROM

Hi everyone,
Has anyone tried out this latest Nightly from Cyan-fox?? 29-January2014
http://cyanfox-rom.com/downloads/?folder=tsubasa/
Was hoping some brave pirate could give it a try... I am exhausted of trying different nightlies (CM, AOKP, PAC, etc...) and having to revert back to the most stable rom for me (CM 10.1.3 RC2) while waiting for the final release of the OFFICIAL XPERIA V 4.3!!
Which for some reason, Sony keeps delaying eternally.
Thanks in advance!!
Thank you for the sharing. I will still waiting for the more stabel version. Currently im happy with Xperia Revelation rom
What are bug?
