Hi I'm using my GT-N7000 international unlocked version using T-Mobile service, recently moved from AT&T service, now I have a internet speed issue, it's too slow and top of the screen just showing me E, when I was using At&T service I was getting pretty good speed and usually showed me H plus on top of the screen. I looked on online that said flashing over to KID radio might help boosting the speed, and I did it, I don't see any difference. I using ICS, and CWM with franco.kernel-r5. any help...
they use different network , you only get is 2g on tmoblile(E stand for ethenet) so dont try anything its not work ..

Are you using aluminum bumper in your note, it decreases the signal.

I hope this thread hasn't already appeared. I searched on these forums but cant seem to find a similar problem!! SO here goes: I have an issue with the reception on this phone. Incredible S S710e,
Baseband version: 20.4802.30.0822U_3822.10.08.28_M
When the network mode is on GSM/WCDMA auto i seem to lose signal suddenly even in the middle of the city. I got a few suggestions that i should flash a new radio. But while messing around a little i changed the settings to GSM only i suddenly got a very stable and strong connection even in places where i used to get a weak 1. But by doing so i cant use 3G. Only edge. And my phone was bought in india. Its almost stock. Only rooted and unlocked at HTCDEV.com . Any idea why this is??

Gsm only supports edge connection. Cdma supports hspa and hsdpa+. Not sure about your whereabouts but Cdma is usually only strong in north America.

Did u have this issue even before activating 3G?? Because i started noticing signal loss only about a week after buying the phone when i activated 3G. Till then it was fine.
Firstly, when I'm not using wifi my internet seems awefully slow. I try and use it when the signal is on G and about 2 or 3 bars, but it takes forever to load pages. It also takes ages to load the facebook news feed. Any ideas?
I have heard about ICS, but I don't know if my phone is actually running this. How do I find out?
Lastly, what is LTE? What does it stand for? Does it make the phone any better? How do I find out if my note is the LTE version?
Yes, you have only got 2.5G, not a 3G/HSPA signal. Check your phone network settings to ensure your mode is set to AUTO and not GSM only. Check your manual.
As for LTE, google is your best friend.
I have found out that LTE stands for long term evolution, but how do I know if my phone is the LTE version?

This what LTE stands for
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/4G
Since you don't know what LTE is, I would assume you don't have it at your locale, i.e. there is no point knowing whether your Note supports it or not, am I right?

You've used 'i.e.' where you should have actually used 'therefore.' Let's not try and be clever. All I wanted to know was if my phone was the LTE version. It is quite a simple question.
Maybe there is no point in me knowing, but I am just interested. Your comment was of no use.

The LTE version is the I717 model, not the N7000, which is the international HSPA version.
Did you get your connectivity speed back up to 3G?
Hi Joe
So are there any I717 models issued in the UK or is it mainly for other countries?
Well I have done, yes, but even with H signal (which I think is 3G?) my internet is still very slow on some websites. Just for example, it took a good 5 minutes to try and load the xda forums yesterday.
With wifi on everything is super fast and after doing a speed test I think it achieved 9mbps, but with 3G it only managed 1mbps.
Just another point. I used to use my iPhone as a hotspot and the speed of the internet on my laptop was really fast, I think it was running at around 5mbps.
This just seems a bit strange. It's almost as if something isn't working properly.
Bump.

HTC Vivid Antenna Help. I Get Bad Signal i get 3bars of LTE but it slow Data like 5MB DL I got better Signal & Speed using 4G non LTE I don't know how to explain this but I can get 5Bars or 4Bars of LTE almost everywhere in my area except where I live and a few more street's. Can I try something like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1863590 ?
I really doubt it would do you much good and I dunno if there's even anything like it for the vivid. What kind of case are you using? What ROM/kernel setup are you using? Are your APN settings correct?

Should get a yr warranty , call att they will help ya get a replacement
Try switching back to normal 4G instead of LTE and see if that does anything for you. It's just APN settings, so you can set up both and switch between them for comparison.
Could it be your location?

If you are getting 4-5 bars "almost everywhere in my area except where I live," then it might be logical to assume that you are in a "dead zone." Radio signals go in a straight line. I live in a hilly area. When I drop into a valley driving home, I lose my call signal. It returns as soon as I get to the top of the hill. Similarly, I get a very poor signal at my work location (1st floor interior office), but I can step outside (100 feet away) and get a good signal. You simply are not going to get full strength signals in every single location.

exactly a dead zone I live on a Dead end Street anyway LOL but thanks anyway for the help people i was hoping there was a way like the guy did it to his phone but whatever it all good
My phone is SUBSANTIALLY slower than my wifes Sensation, some of which I understand is because I am using a phone not designed for T-Mo's network, but what is the optimal setup for this phone to run on T-Mo's network
thanks
For me running the t-mobile T879 stock rom and radio on the I717 seemed to work best. I noticed better data speeds but I only ran it for couple of days before I sold the I717 and got my T879. Just follow the instructions in tomin.fhl's thread in the dev section.
I'm also getting horrendous speeds, using stock rom and radio for the i717. Also tried blaze and got about 10kb's more in downspeed. my average speed is about 80Kb/s

I'm running an i717 on Tmobile also. Was able to fix my speeds using this-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1931679
1. Must be on a tw rom
2. Go to service mode by using *#2263#
3. Go to wcdma per. and click on wcdma 850
4. Signal bar will be replaced with a circle with a line thru it.
5. While about 5-10 seconds. Your signal bars will return but you will have no 4g.
6. Hit settings button, go back and click on wcdma all and 4g will come back.
7. Do a speed test and profit.
8. Every time you reboot you must do this every time. Only takes about 30 seconds
Currently running objection UCLE2. Works on the Black Star Rom also.
holy cow, thanks
I get WORSE service using this. I tried flashing other modems as well, but then my sim stop working. I'm beginning to think some i717s just don't work as well as others.
Hi I hope you can help me out or know someone who can. I have a i717 note unlocked and rooted using straight talk service with a tmobile compatable sim card. Before root I was running 4.0.4 now im on 2.3.6 but my basband say UCLF6 my talk service is great it shows a data signal (g) or (e) edge but it wont let me connect says data error. I need a detailed guide step by step (pictures) of the tutoral if possible. I managed to root my device but there are still alot I need to learn. XDA ROCKS!
THANKS. Hope you have the time to help me out.

Hello guys,
I just noticed my LTE speeds were horrible (2.24 M/b download/2.03 M/b upload via internet speed test). My coworker who is using a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 on Verizon is achieving speeds well over 20 M/b. Neither of us are connected to WIFI. I tried to do some research to see if anyone else was having the same issue but haven't found anything on it yet. I got really good speeds on my S6 before the upgrade. I tried to phone in with Verizon's tech support and they weren't much help. I'm wondering if this might have anything to do with the DQA pop-up errors. Hoping an update would fix it but just wanted to isolate the issue if it's software or hardware-related.
Has anyone experience similar issues?

I am not using verizon network but i am using a verizon s8 on a different network and already using the latest update. i am able to get 37Mbps for download and 27Mbps Upload speed on my company so i dont think your problems are related to the update but to verizon itself

Anybody on Verizon able to check if their LTE speeds have been bad? I could just rule out that I am in bad area but since I have other coworkers getting better speeds just trying the diagnose the problem.
Thank you all,
Thought the dqa is for wifi only
I'd say they're pretty damn good on this phone.
47mb down
20mb up
in KS, testing a Dallas server on speedof.me
Sometimes, this is due to a bad sim. Did you get a new sim for the S8?

Who do you use on your Verizon S8? I am using at&t but can't get LTE connection to stick. I boot the phone, I have LTE for 2 minutes and then back to HSPA+
Wondering if you are on at&t as well?
Thanks

I am using ATT but in Mexico and here ATT only use band 4 and 5 so i dont have any issue. I use ATT (roaming) every time I am there and I do notice that with my old phone (HTC 10) in my area this phone was constantly using band 30 and 4 and changing between them, so after I changed to the verizon s8 I lost band 30 and i was only able to connect using band 4 hence some times i was losing my LTE.
You should do the test with your old phone and LTE discovery and see what bands are you using most of the time and see if your verizon phone have them or not.
I am also having this issue after the update. Slow LTE speeds even when I am in line of site of a tower.
