I've tried many launchers including Xperia S, GO, holo, etc.. their landscape behavior is same : stretched widgets..
I wanted launcher like SPB shell or nokia belle home, where we can configure different layout for portrait and landscape.. but I don't like SPB, that's too heavy and not matched with android theme..
I really miss my nokia n8 because of the home screen
I think adw

+1 for adw =/)
nothing yet
there is no launcher that can do LOGICAL LANDSCAPE so far to my knowledge.
I've tested almost all of them, and they all just put the portrait configuration into landscape. which messes up the look, leaves large unused space between the icons (when in landscape) and the widgets get squeezed into thin lines of available space and simply become unusable.
so, any other suggestions?
Just turn your head while keeping the phone upright. That gives a good working landscape view.... Well sortof.

Ive found this thread via google because i searched for a better way.. but ill tell you what im using now - which gives a quite satisfiying result - but it requires some workaround
First you need Apex Launcher - i have not found a different launcher which allows to set landscape grid different from portrait
then you can set your widgets and icons like that:
Have fun!

Hello folks, today I decided to try ADW launcher on my GTAB. I must say there are some really great looking themes, and its quite smooth and nice to use. The only problem I have went through so far is that wallpaper doesn't fit the all screen when in landscape mode. I have tried to resize them with the Gallery App, and I have also tried to download new ones from interfacelift with resolution of 960x854 or 960x800 but nothing has changed, and even wallpapers downloaded from the Grallery app doest fit the all screen in landscape mode. So I thought it must be a bug in ADW. Is there a way to make them fit the all screen ??
Thanks
not sure if this will help as I dont have a tab, but go into the ADM launcher setting and check or uncheck the wallpaper hack option....maybe that will help

Didnt help actually if I disable the wallpaper hack in ADW launcher setting the sensor rotation become really slow ...
doesn't anyone know how to make wallpaper fit the all screen with ADW or even Launcher Pro(as I have the same problem with it as well)?

It's old thread but is there anything happened with that problem since December? lol
Im still strugling witht that problem and half an hour surfing on the net didnt help. I sent mail to developer but so far no reply.
So the problem is old does anyone solved it yet?
What exactly is happening? Are some parts of the screen not covered by the wallpaper or are you only seeing a part of the wallpaper. I use ADW and in landscape mode. I get the top third of a wallpaper fully covering the screen. A live wallpaper I use works perfectly. Perhaps reset ADW to its default settings?

I AM using adw ex version...
Have you tried these wallpapers with any other launcher?
You'll find that its the gallery's fault more than anything. Try multi picture livewallpaper

I am experiencing this as well. Portrait mode there is no issue, it is just landscape mode.
The stock standard Samsung home screen doesn't have an issue, it is just when I am viewing the ADW Launcher EX home screen. It is zoomed in on a particular section of the wallpaper and is only displaying a portion of the picture.
I have a Samsung GT-P7510 running Honeycomb 3.1 and ADW version 1.3.3.1
I too have the issue with my galaxy note, and i started this thread and had no luck so far

ADW Launcher EX wallpaper rotation bug
Well, on my Nexus 5 using ADW Launcher EX :
I'm in portrait mode, I set a custom wallpaper (image fits full screen, sides as expected are scrolling left/right when I switch through the desktops).
Now, I just rotate the phone to go in landscape mode, the wallpaper rotates but is cropped top/bottom and left/right too. "Ok, whatever..."
Then I rotate the phone back to portrait mode : the wallpaper doesn't come back to its original state but is kinda "zoomed in" so cropped on the four sides... I have to re-set it to get my original picture back...
The only fix I found was to force ADW to be in portrait mode and not use the sensor (the default launcher sticks to portrait mode anyway).
So, there actually IS a bug in ADW Launcher EX...
I wish the developer would fix this...
I've got a bunch of launchers loaded on my EVO, but my favorite ones for the G-Tab are ADW.launcher and ZEAM (XDA developed launcher).
I like both of them because they're snappy and offer a high degree of customization (e.g. being able to specify the number of columns and rows for both the workspace and the apps).
ADW.launcher seems a bit more customizable since it supports themes, but Zeam is nice because it gives you an app bar on the workspace that you can load up to 8 quick apps.
I still have a soft spot for Launcher Pro. I know that ADW has themes, but LP is fast and does what I need it to do. I have not found a reason to change, yet.
+1 for launcher pro. I liked the themes on ADW but I like the customizable buttons, configurable columns and rows and the widgets with LP.
Perchance I will try Zeam at some point, but in general I am happy with Launcher Pro.

zeam cause its lightweight.
Launcher Pro here too.
I'm still playing with Sweeter Home. I like to completely customize the screen layouts. It isn't flawless in operation, but it does provide me lots of time to fidget.
LauncherPro. I like the features and being able to save/load my screen layout/setup is fantastic after flashing ROMs and reinstalling apps.
I prefer GDE but can't get it to work properly (menu's pop up flaky) on the GTab so I'm using LauncherPro.
Launcher pro. Light weight and fast.
Allways been a fan of launcher pro on my android devices it just works how i like
Do any of the themes allow more than sixteen icons per page? There is a LOT of space that more icons could go in.
Is this one of those "phone & portrait" os design constraints?
i'm an ADW fan on my Droid 1 and i tried it on my gtab but i found zeam to be better. its faster and smoother, more lightweight, and actually resizes wallpaper properly. i love adw's themes but i rather go with speed than with custom icons. also love zeam's dock, has tons of space for icons. only thing i don't like about it is that you can't save your configuration.
launcher pro i never liked. probably cuz i can get most of that stuff for free on other launchers. gotta pay to resize a widget? cmon now. also live wallpaper is really sluggish for some reason on launcher pro. keeps stuttering when i turn on the screen, no matter what live wallpaper i try.

Same here. Zeam Launcher + MultiPicture Livewallpaper.
thats really cool! The light effects of that background are live?
I like gde but no icons with all the the themes. But... +10 on launcher pro

Iam I weird for not running a launcher? I always feel like they slow the system down a bit. I might have to start because all these cool looking home screens are making me jealous!
Launcher Pro... but I think I might try zeam after reading this thread.
I prefer Tap n' Tap for my launcher... OK, who am I kidding
Actually, I use Launcher Pro as well, but I also noticed the live wallpaper stuttering and always thought it was because every app seemed to want to reload itself upon wakeup. However, with all of the love out here for Zeam, I'm going to have to give that a try as well!
has anyone tried the go-launcher?
SInce there are several launchers around I'm curious what the pro's and con's are for each... I think tis thread is going a long way to that. Maybe once we managed to get all the info together we could start making a sticky with pros/cons for each launcher...
Just a thought
Sorry if this has been asked before. I searched and couldn't find anything.
I bought the Nook Color today and it seems great, but I would love to get rid of the typical android phone dock that auto-installed with launcherpro when I downloaded it from the marketplace. The one with phone, SMS, email.
I haven't gotten side-loading apps to work yet on my Mac, but i'm going to work on it tonight.
The settings for that Dock will be specific to LauncherPro.
I personally use ADW.Launcher, which has an option to totally disable the Dock, or to make it be a single button to open the Apps Drawer.
Thank you. I'll try using it. I basically just want the cleanest dock ever with a few things on it, and then a side page with my apps
Try Zeam. It works the best.. You can configure the dock entirely.
Launcher pro has an advantage in that you can set the grid to 10x10 where in ADW or Zeam the max is 8X8. 10x10 works way better on the nook.
Actually, I fnd that 8x8 works best for launcher pro. 10x10 makes the widgets too small and overflow their their layouts if they were coded in dips rather than px, which most were...

I just saw this on the xda homepage:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1017451
Its a new tablet-centric launcher based off of the adw open-source code but removes the phone-like dock bar and ads launchers thatbare highly customizable and scrollable. It is also suppossed to add support for scrollable Widgets as well!
Here is the description:
This Launcher is designed with landscape tablets in mind! (that's not to say it doesn't also function well in portrait mode..... as it does)
First off this launcher is based HEAVILY on ADW.Launcher's Source code so I would like to thank anderweb for all the ground work.
What I have done is begun to remove the tired old Phone Like dock bar we are used to in just about every android launcher and replace it with a sleek Scrollable/Drag-able/Drop-able/Rearrangeable "ALONG the BOTTOM" (NOW WITH TOGGLEABLE SIDE DOCKS AS WELL!) Application and Shortcut Dock.
You can drag any Application, Shortcut, Browser Shortcut, Folder, etc. onto or off of and even drag them to different positions along the bar. Basically just about anything you can usually place on the desktop (except widgets, sorry that is not going to happen) you can place on the dock bar.
So feel free to fill your desktop with widgets and clocks and weather and that cool picture of your cat , because all your favorite apps are a fling away at the bottom.
So far scrolling widget support is fully functional. If an app complains/or warns that it doesn't detect a compatible launcher ignore it and continue they should work (as long as they are ADW Compliant).
This should work on virtually any device. Though non large screen devices may have issues with the layouts so you will have to play with the desktop column and row numbers etc.
UPDATE Info: -Fixed all Paddings to be dynamic with regard to which docks are visible. -Increased the Folder Columns by one for both Orientations. -Fixed Animations and Reflections for proper directions on all dockbars. -Added Toggle Setting to Show/Hide the dockbar when the app drawer is open. -Added Right-Hand Dockbar w/Toggle Setting. -Added Left-Hand Dockbar w/Toggle Setting. -Changed Dock Style to be be centered instead of left justified. -Fixed a fling issue when there were less icons than cells that would cause the icons to fing right and stick. -Changed the default setting of drawer type to the vertical scroll style as it is smoother. -Changed the default setting of drawer color to have a slight alpha to it so you can see your wallpaper a bit.
Latest screenshot shows the new side docks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------Project site: http://vegantab.gojimi.com/vt-labs/vtl-launcher

Here is a screenshot of my setup. The launcher is a little buggy but the concept is cool and if they can clean up the code, it could be a serious contender for the tablet launcher crown.

PS. sorry about the crappy pic and link for pic. Screenshot er isn't working and tapatalk wont let me embed a pic from my xoom.
Cool - I'll give it a shot and post results!
I like the stock launcher better. The widgets are too small. Unless there is something similar with how the stock launcher transitions from screen to screen I will be set with the current setup.
It still feels very beta, the transitions seem "meh" however, it being a beta and all its expected. Uninstalled for now, but I'll be looking for updates soon.
Thanks.
Looks promising. I ran VEGAN on my G Tab and it was a nice alternative to stock. I will be interested to see how it turns out in the near future.
silly question...is there a home switcher that works with honeycomb? if not how are you switching back and forth between stock and this launcher?
Awesome, I was wondering when some tablet based launchers would emerge.
And also can you share that wallpaper

As I said... I know I can lock my screen orientation on any launcher but I find that I like a launcher that I don't have to bread sideways, I use my tablet about half the time on and half the other.
Touchwiz does a pretty good job here but I must be honest the Folder bug is really annoying me - I admit I am a bit OCD when it comes to my electronics. Is there a way to get one of the third party launchers like Nova, Apex, or even Go Launcher HD to "letterbox" the icon space the way Touchwiz does so that either orientation looks just as good?
ADW Launcher EX just got an update with tons of imrovements, try it, it has all you need

NOVA LAUNCHER PRIME is Better !
I use Nova Launcher and you can set the borders and icon spacing to your liking. I have mine set so it looks good in both portrait and landscape
Nova, Apex and Trebuchet can't set separate settings for portrait and landscape mode, with ADW EX you can set vertical and horizontal spacing for both modes separately
Nova and ADW launcher is best for me...
Yes I've tried a lot of launchers, and i think that Nova looks better than the others and i also believe that is a little bit faster

nova is the best imho
Nova is the best for me. Window transition is very smooth
SPB works fine for me on both landscape and portrait... although I have to admit, when it's not an SPB widget, it requires a while to outline stuff in a way that looks good on both orientations.
I would suggest sslauncher the original. I've bought almost every launcher in Google store. This is the only launcher that has separate ui for portrait and landscape. So no widget messed up when u rotate.
