Otterbox Cases

So, I sent an e-mail to otterbox regarding the future of otterbox cases for the NS and I haven't recieved a response back yet, but i'm sure with enough requests we could see a case soon! I asked specifically for a defender

Would like to see an "Impact" series for the Nexus-S, I like the thinness of the impact, and the cool rubbery grip, without adding too much bulk.

Wow they responded to me in less than a minute here's their response " At this point we do not have any information if a case will be made at this time for that device, but it is something that has been requested a lot. I would say to keep an eye on our website, as it will have the most up to date information on any new releases that we may have."

My Evo's defender was the worst piece of garbage I've ever seen excused for a case. Worst quality control and customer service I've experienced in recent years. Did not email. The vast majority of people on the Evo forums have had terrible experiences, and most of the feedback is crap. Otterbox used to kick ass, not so much anymore.

The Otterbox defender for my Nexus one was the best case EVER (and I had a commuter, tough case and a seido innocase II) Great quality and great protection

Yeah my old defenders for iPhone and N1 rocked socks. My Evo's case had a crack and broken kickstand in less then 12 hours. Without dropping it once. Just normal use and setting it down. Honestly the worst case I've ever used. From what I've heard, the rest of otters Evo cases were ok, but apparently their redesigning the defender due to "design issues" but they still wouldn't refund or replace mine.

Nexus 7 FitFolio by Speck

I would love to see Speck make a Nexus 7 FitFolio Case so I have submitted a request to do so, if you like the idea please go vote for it as per there feedback email the more votes they get the more likely they will be to build the case.
Here is an example of there current FitFolio for Kindle Fire which I would like them to model the Nexus 7 after.

I'm looking forward to this too. Speck already confirmed via Twitter that they are making it!

Really this is what I got from there team when I emailed them last night:
"Thank you for contacting us. I took a look and there is no word on if we are making a case for the Google Nexus 7 at this time. You can submit your idea for a case for it to our design team! You can submit your idea to our Feedback page found on our homepage on the far left side of the screen. You can submit the idea for voting and the more votes it gets, the more likely our team will be to consider it. Please take a moment to do so!

It looks quite difficult (read: impossible) to press the physical buttons on the kindle fire version, and with the nexus 7 having the buttons on an angle, it seems like it would be MORE impossible on a model fit for the N7. I do hope they do something about that before releasing one, but I agree that I would definitely hunt one down if they made one

Man, I would get it too. Too bad I ordered the TreeGloo case already . It's not coming til Early August. This Speck one if made, would come even later though..

I'd be all over that in red. I'm gonna have more backup cases than I know what to do with I think. Everytime I buy one something else comes out that I want. Fortunately neither I have bought have cost very much.

The Speck looks like JUST what im looking for. Hopefully they make it!
If only the cutouts for buttons on the KF case were the same i'd buy it...

I'm not holding my breath either lol. I'm using my Kindle case for now and just waiting patiently to see what case to get. I saw a Speck for kindle today at Marshall's and it looked nice.

I think they would have to include two different magnets for that since the screen sensor is right above the pogo pins and in order to keep it closed you would want another one on the far side of the tablet at the edge of the cover. It could be done but I doubt they will go that route.

Slim Cases

I loved the case on my Kindle Fire, as it was super thin, didn't add much weight to it, and still acted as a stand. So far, all the ones that have been released are very thick and do more than I will need. Are there any comparable cases to this one at the moment? Thanks!

I've searched far and wide, but have not seen anything similar yet. It reminds me alot of the incase case I have for my iPad.
Can't wait for something like this to come out, but I have a feeling it will be a while.

and this is their reply:

We are working on some cases. However, nothing has been announced as yet. Please continue to check back with our website for updates. We expect to have something within the next 4 to six weeks.

Thats a nice case. would like to get something like that too.

hopefully they make a green one. even better if they have the android robot logo hehe.

That's probably the first N7 case that I've seen that I liked. I live in the USA and I don't know how the price translates to dollars but it seems high for me.

I also made another thread to tell people about an email I received from Marware as well. Here's what I got:
"Hello WindyCityRockr
Thank you for contacting Marware.
We've been told that Nexus 7 cases are being prepared and should be shipping in 6-10 weeks. We do not know which styles or types of cases are being made at this time, but yes, there will be a few offerings soon.

The case isn't an official Nexus 7 case, and I don't know how well it would fit the Nexus 7, as it was nicely snug on the Kindle Fire. I'm just hoping they release a similar one for the Nexus 7.:fingers-crossed:

I've had one of those on my TouchPad for about a year now, it offers great protection but adds a lot of weight and bulk since it's virtually two cases in one.

Incipio are making cases

Hi Folks,
I emailed Incipio last week to see if they intended making covers for the N7 like they do for the Ipad and they emailed me back last night to say they are releasing a range of products but no details are available yet, but to keep an eye on their website and there should be info there soon. Would really like a Incipio feather case for my 7 along with a smart cover..
Hopefully in the next few weeks we'll have more info

Pretty nice leather products, but I guess they are sitting back and waiting to see what we prefer.

Hope they make the legend case! Its the best case I've seen so far

These cases are amazing. I've Put some cash aside for when these are released. Even the international shipping seems reasonable. I'm surprised there isn't more mention of these on the forum rather than all the cheap plether bulky rubbish everyone seems to like! No accounting for taste!

Any updates on this?

I got this response from them yesterday. I did ask about which specific cases might be available but no details yet.

Exactly. Google is selling tons of these things and it's been over a month now. I want to give my money to anyone that comes out with a "tank" case but no one is stepping up to the plate.

...or maybe it's because one size fits all and so it's easier to get one to market early.
No company can set up, tool up and manufacture quality products at the drop of a hat never mind them wanting to make sure there's going to be a sustainable market for it.
I realise that moaning is one of the US national pastimes but these forums are international and believe me it gets very old very quickly having to trawl past all these whinging posts to try and find the good stuff.

Oh please. I'm not one of the complainers on this board and my post was not whining. These tablets have been selling like hot cakes and it's been out for long enough where someone should be making a hard case by now.

i agree with this. i also believe google announced the tablet and released it 2-3 weeks later and didn't work with anyone on accessories. perhaps it was to generate sales of their case, but the consumer got screwed. i'm not a fan of the asus case. from day one i wanted a leather case and over a month later, i'm still limited in my choices becasue companies are still working on their cases. i emailed marware last week and they still said 4-6 weeks.

Incipio makes decent cases, but they're always way overpriced. I got the N7 because of its value, and this is going to carry over with my accessories for it. If I wanted to overspend, I would have gotten an iPad.

Awhile back during my investigation on the Next Nexus phone I went searching through Accessory/Case makers hoping that they would give me any information/potentially leak information on the Nexus 6.
Ultimately I found Seidio referencing the Google Nexus 6 in their requests page http://www.seidioonline.com/Articles.asp?ID=303
Hopefully they will be releasing cases soon for the N6, what would you guys like to see? Personally I am hoping for one of their durable cases since the one I had for my N4 protected it for the entire time I had the device. Hopefully we will not have to wait long for cases to come out!

seidio drives me crazy. iphone 6 comes out and they have every case under the sun ready to ship the day the damn thing is ANNOUNCED. google releases nexus info (including specs) and you get crickets from them. here, fill out this request form and wait

Moto x 2014 is listed in request area too, but they've confirmed on Facebook to me that there is no current plan to support.

I hate apple, but they are king of accessories. Guaranteed millions of sheep will buy their phones.

Hopefully it means we will be seeing something come down the pipe in the near future for the N6!

i find it fascinating that i have to tell a company to make cases for a phone that nobody is able to keep in stock. sold out on 2 different days via google in 0.5 seconds and today sold out on motorola's site in less than 5 minutes. and all this at $650-$700. if they need me to request that they make cases for it then they are incredibly stupid and don't deserve my business...

Being sold out because you sold 5 million in a couple days is different than being sold out because Google doesn't know how to do retail launches. I would imagine it is quite difficult to gauge how much interest there will be in this phone after the initial sales.

perhaps, but it doesnt change the fact that this is a flagship release and their lack of support is dubious. take a look at their site. they offer cases for just about every phone in the universe on there. but nexus 6 which is launching on all 4 carriers they have to wait and see? beyond lame

Yea they already missed the window to get buyers...all the pre-orders are shipping soon and they don't even have products ready yet.
There goes 1000s of sales. Poof. I'm one of them. Got a Moko holster/case for $2USD and not buying a Seidio for this device.

I got the $1.95 Moko, and the case seems solid! But I hate the Moko holster with a passion. If Seidio did come out with N6 cases, I'd buy one just to use the spring-loaded holster.

I didnt even know Best Buy sold decent holsters lol You have to let ME know if they get them!
I have only been particular to otterbox and seidio. Hopefully Seidio comes out soon (since otterbox hates nexus for some reason)

I have used the Platinum brand case from Best Buy a few times on some of my older phones(it's been a couple of years). Those were just re-branded Seidio Surface cases. That's not a bad thing though. The case and holster were much cheaper at Best Buy than on Seidio's website. So, unless it's different now, you won't see a Nexus 6 Platinum case without seeing a Nexus 6 Seidio case first.
