Hey guys,
Following my HTC ONE X BestSkinsEver Thread:
I decided to stick with them and go for the screen protector only, as i dont require the full body on this tablet.
ive had the Skin on for only a couple of days, and its already looking pretty close to perfect right about now.
things to know:
Wet screen protectors will always produce some Orange-Peel-effect, even if they say they dont - however, ive found BestSkinsEver to be significantly less than ie. Zagg's Invisible Shield, Bodyguardz, Skinomi etc
Touch Sensivity is the same, as seen the video.
Swiping has little drag as with any protector, it will never be as good as the naked glass screen, but VERY little.
Installation Tips:
Use large bowl of warm water, add 1 drop of washing up liquid and rinse bowl until all soap has vanished
Soak your fingers in this water before peeling off the protector from its backing to prevent fingerprints.
Peel it off & soak the damn thing, shake off the excess before applying.
Align skin completely before using the card/squeegee method of removing the water underneath.
Grab a card, if possible wrap once in a microfibre cloth to prevent damage (not essential, just recommended)
Squeegee from the middle outwards, and only Lightly press - use the side of the card, never the corners.
If you need to re-lift the skin to re-apply, completely remove it slowly to avoid stretching and soak in the water again. (remember - wet fingers)
Good Luck, All the best.

Thanks for the heads up!
I'm gonna return my XO Skin and order a BSE. I hate the rubbery feel of the XO skin when I try to swipe across the screen. I do love the smooth feeling of the BSE from my past experience of having it on my phones.
I really like the way it looks a lot ans thanks for the heads up about the future discount. Will be looking into it

Your welcome, hope I took enough pictures *sarcastic*
The video was just a bonus, as I did that in my previous HTC One X thread for BestSkinsEver

If SGP hasn't released a protector yet (I haven't looked) then this is probably what I'll be going for. I had a full body protector for my iPod Touch from them and it was great.

And today they announce their newest version of their skin materials. Hopefully anyone who has gotten one recently got the new stuff.

$4.84 USD for a 3 pack of matte screen protectors, not a bad deal! ***spoiler*** this thing sucks ***spoiler***
So I've had the TF101 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 both with Zagg screen protectors but ended up taking them off after a few weeks since there was too much drag resistance. Never experienced any "orange peel" effect many have noted. On my mom's iPhone and Sidekick 4G, I saw this matte screen protector, and I was very impressed with the feel. This was a while ago, but once I got the N7 I decided to grab some matte screen protectors.

-3 Screen Protectors with proper camera and light sensor cutout
-1 card to squeegee the bubbles out
-1 microfiber cloth
-1 white business card sized label (to remove lint)
Installation was dry, and some what easy. I'm no expert at this, but I was able to successfully put the screen protector on with no bubbles or lint (after squeegee and using the included sticker to get out a few pieces of lint.
I was so excited that I got it looking so nice, no bubbles, no lint, etc. I've done this before with other devices and whenever I had lint stuck under the screen it would drive me insane everytime I looked at it.
Anyways turned the screen on and it didn't look too bad, just a little grainy rainbow pixel effect. w.e. I'll get used to it, less finger-prints and anti-glare + screen protection is a fair trade off. Wrong. A few hours later I turned on my tablet to browse the interwebz and get my eyes accustomed to the new screen. Holy Shiz. I am on the computer for the majority of the day. I browse numerous forums, reddit, i've accumulated 120+hours on battlefield 3, even more on starcraft 2, Im almost always on the computer. Hell, I just got a circuit board tattoo a week ago. I rarely ever get headaches from looking at a screen, when I do, it's most likely from forgetting to drink coffee. I got a nauseating headache from staring no more than 5 mins at the screen. Needless to say I ripped it off, threw it away and thanked my lucky stars it was so cheap.
I concur I got rid of mine after a few days.

I like mine. No issues with install and I can use the N7 whereever I feel like. I had too much glare when using it in the office and outside.
Original Thread - Itskins Problem
ItSkins contacted me when I was desperate for an update on my order. Well, it's finally here.
I chose ItSkins Gla.Z for a few reasons.
All clear glass SP seem to work better overall. as per XDA threads.
I hate the opening under the home button. This one is enclosed.. Though the top is trimmed for the sensors and speakers.
Spigen wimped out, whom was my first choice.
It was $29,90. With shipping it came to $39.80
Onto the review.
It came in a box in a bag. The contents were well padded.
It did not come with h spray bottle, but it did come with
.
.
. WAIT FOR IT!
four round iPhone buttons, two white and two black. Thankfully I already bought the Spigen Aluminum Home Buttons. I told Itskins about it already and future shipments will have the right one.
It did come with the mini-credit card
squeegee, which I didn't use because I have a Skinomi soft squeegee that won't scratch nor require a microfiber cloth. I used their included one to dab any excess liquid.
There still is some moisture, but it can take a week to dry. It has been two days and the moisture pockets are getting smaller. I may grab the hairdryer again to speed it up.
So far I am loving it! I had a plastic SP before. But nothing is more like glass than glass.
With my metal case and the Gla.Z SP , my phone feels bomb proof!
If you have any questions, just ask. I'll do my best to answer them.

How do I upload a picture to the forum? The Picture Icon wants an URL. It been a few years. I think I used to upload them to some free, no questions asked website before posting. Any recommendations for a no sign-in picture hosting website?

I will take pictures again in a week to show how the moisture is dissipating. The blue thing was one of the pre-installation protectors. I thought it might give a better idea of the SP shape. With the glare on the actual SP, it might be hard to tell.
I spent the extra for the Spigen Vitreo. I must say that the dry install left me with no 'patches' like those wet spots on the wet install.

It might have been intended as a dry install, since they didn't include any spray. I used wet, because it gave me extra time to get the placement just right. It also means I have to wait longer for the best results.
Ordered it a week ago on Amazon and it came in Friday. Just picked up my device and it is a very high quality screen protector. I highly recommend it and it came out flawless. very easy to install with no bubbles or lint of any kind . Here is how the package looks

Font on the packaging looks like Spigen. I just ordered some too. Hoping that they are as good as you say.
thats what I thought aswell. its a quality protector
I got these on Amazon while I decide whether or not to keep the device. If I do I'll get a glass screen protector, but until then these are really great. Perfect fit and you can hardly tell it's there.

Going to have to disagree about these. I've owned multiple smart phones and screen devices, and have installed many different brands and types (dry install, wet). These went on terrible, even using the shower method. They are just a legit square, making it impossible to line up since you can't tell how much of the bezel or not it protects (tough to get on straight, tough to tell how far up or down on the bezel it goes). I'm going to have to order a better brand, such as Spigen.

mine fits perfect. I have no space on the edges and looks great.
I have 7 left. good enough for me :good:
Hi, I've recently found out about skins - an interesting alternative for cases. To be honest, I couldn't find any good case for this phone. Now I'm using Nilikin Case - it's slim, looking pretty good, but has cracks in few places already. I guess it doesn't give me any protection anyway in case of hitting the floor. But naked phone is way to slippery (especially the glass on the back). So why not trying skin instead? I had hard time to find something, which has (potentially) good quality. I had to find international (on eBay), because there was almost nothing in my country to buy (only printed crap with very bad reviews).
So I found this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/3D-Carbon-S...sh=item419deb1600:g:ie8AAOSwYHxWFs20#shpCntId
So, should I give it a try?
I'd vote for: yes! Looks definitely interesting, please share some pictures if you do.
Ordered Brushed 3D: Black. We'll see how it performs.
Just got my skin today! I didn't expect it so early. Anyway it's not easy task to put this skin (and any other as well i guess). I left my metal bumper, because it love how it's looking. So only top and back skin are on. Gonna post some photos maybe tomorrow

Thanks for the pics! Do you like it? Is the material nice to touch?
Yeah I like it. Material is nice to touch and looks durable. But who knows how really tough it is, we'll see in few weeks. One downside is front skin covers notification led! Because of that it's very dim.
After a week of usage I have to say it got some scratches on back (several). Fortunately there aren't that much visible.

Well, a lot of scratches, but they aren't that visible on black texture. However I've taken off front skin, because when phone was heating up (while playing some games) sticky glue was going from it. Fall damage? Well - it doesn't give you any protection from falling on the ground and any other skin won't give you any. For me it's great cover for back glass, because glass has a lot of fingerprints and is very slippery.
i prefer the case than the skin. the skins don't give much protection already the both side of my phone got cracked
DISCLAIMER: I am in no way affiliated with Slickwraps, nor was I reimbursed for my purchase. This is a fair, honest, and unbiased review.
Several weeks ago I started looking into the idea of buying a skin for my beloved N5X. I debated between Slickwraps or dbrand until this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3344854 made me decide to pull the trigger on Slickwraps. Their XDA promo skins (I ordered "XDA design 3") are priced nicely at $9.95, and including shipping I spent $12.85 - well below dbrand prices.
First impressions and unboxing: The package arrived 2 days after processing, in a thin cardboard sleeve. The skin itself feels somewhat like a thick vinyl. Product packaging was nice, with a microfiber cloth and several warnings of "STOP" with a notice to visit their website first for proper installation instructions. As there is not yet a video up for the 5X, I watched one for the N5, which should be the closest.
Installation: I decided on lining the skin up with the camera and LED/laser focus. There are also pieces that go on the camera ring and fingerprint sensor, which require some finesse to align properly with the overall pattern. I initially misaligned the back half a mm or so, but the adhesive was forgiving and I quickly corrected it. The corners were a bit strange at first, but once I started to smooth the edges out they worked themselves out. The skin is cut perfectly for the profile of this phone. Honestly this was easier than installing a tempered glass screen protector. There is even a tiny notch that goes around the headphone jack.
Reactions: overall I am very pleased with the skin. I put my Nillkin Nature TPU case over it, which helps the corners stay in place very nicely. Even though the TPU is smoke gray, the skin is clearly visible. My only complaint is that the fingerprint sensor does not work with its piece covering it, so I have removed it for the time being. I would have given it a 8.5/10, if only for the fingerprint sensor, but the quality, precision, and obvious concern for satisfaction bump it up to a 9/10 for me.
Apologies for no pictures, I did not have another device handy at the time and was too excited about putting it on :good:
