stock rom and everything, just no bloatware.
this morning it worked perfect, about 2 hours later is all retarted.
1)the backlight is dim and doesnt get as bright as its supposed to unless i plug it in
2)when i slide the phone open the screen doesnt flip the other way
3)getting multiple "cannot execute" errors of clocknot.exe, repllog.exe, calnot.exe. these pop up and i have to click OK 20+ times and less than a minute later they came back on again. actually now i cant even get them to go away.
4)i left my phone alone for a while after realizing something was wrong with it and when i came back to it was just constantly vibrating, i dont know for how long but it killed 60% of my battery.
software i installed is just your basic stuff, tomtom, touchflo cube, htc touch dialer and touch today setup, htc home customizer and battery status and i think thats pretty much it.
anybody have any idea on what might have happened? like i said, the phone worked perfect this morning. i put it down, went a swim, came back and it wasnt working right so i did a soft reset and it didnt fix anything. i put it back down, took a nap, came back and it was vibrating and then i did another soft reset and thats when i got all the error messages. so i did another soft reset and still doesnt want to work.
wait, now for some reason it seems to be OK after another soft reset. I DONT GET IT.
so now i received and sent a text message and then closed the phone, it locked and turned the screen off. i then put it on the charged and the screen wouldnt turn back on now matter what button i pushed. but the lights on top blinked and when i opened it the keyboard lit up. so once again....another soft reset
you probably should hard reset your phone. but be aware that it will erase evrything on ur phone and return it back the way it was, so backup ur info
Yes, I second that. Make sure to back up your data before hard-resetting, though, as you will lose it all (contacts, files, everything).
To hard reset the phone, press and hold the two soft keys (buttons on the front that have a dash on them; next to the send and end buttons) while pushing the stylus into the reset hole in the bottom. If you do it correctly, a white screen will come up asking you if you want to do this, and just follow the steps until it is finished.
Please post back and tell us the result.

Use the latest version of "SPB backup" to backup all data before you hard reset and you restore the all applications after a hard reset or even a ROM Upgrade.
P.S: I don't work for SPB... I just like the software

Don't just back everything up as you may just re-introduce the problem on restore!
Back up your contacts and volotile data only (sync it with Outlook if you use it).
Hard reset and then install 1 app/util at a time and test the device each time to check stability.
Hang on a second...
Before you hard-reset...
Open your favorite file explorer application (I use GSFinder, but the default WM6 File Explorer should be fine), and browse to the Storage Card folder. If there's more than one, keep reading.
I store lots of applications on the microSD card itself, and I often take the card out of the Tilt, and put it into a card reader for faster file transfer. Sometimes, this results in the Tilt thinking I have multiple microSD cards when I put it back in. I haven't quite nailed down what causes this (I haven't searched, either, the answer might be on XDA-dev somewhere).
The end result is, the Tilt is looking for stuff that isn't in the /Storage Card folder. Instead, the phone recognizes the card as /Storage Card2 or /Storage Card3.
I have run into the EXACT same problem you've got, with the same errors. Every time, I've been able to correct it by removing the physical card, and then deleting all the /Storage Card (1,2,3) folders that are still on the phone.
After you do that, just insert the card again, and it will be recognized as simply /Storage Card without any numbers after it. Now the applications will work properly, as WM6 will be looking at the right folders.
ok sorry, havent been back on. phone was working great until last night and then it started acting up again. after multiple soft resets it started working fine again this morning.
there is only one storage card listed so thats not my problem but thank you for the idea.
looks like ill just take any stuff of the phone i want when i get home and do a hard reset. do they replace these phones for software issues with a stock ROM?
happened again, should i try to see if they will replace the phone?
anyone know if i need to call to do that or do i need to go to a certified at&t place?
If you are using the Stock ROM and have performed a hard reset and it still has problems then return it under warranty.

There are no more certified ATT places around here, everything is by phone and mail. If it is still under warranty thats what I would do if you are unsure of it's long term condition.
i am still stock ROM. it locked up on me again yesterday and i did a hard reset. hopefully it wont happen again. i dont feel like customizing my phone from scratch yet again
Its not letting me receive any calls. Because by the time I press "Accept" it becomes unresponsive for like a couple of mins and the call has already ended.
Its taking forever to load any apps too. It takes forever to open the Programs folder or the Settings folder. Everything takes like a min on the phone now.
I don't know what has caused this. It was working fine yesterday. I haven't installed any new apps either.
I have the HTC stock ROM downloaded from this website. I've had it installed for a few months now without a problem.
Can someone please help me in understanding whats causing this?
I've restarted the phone a few times now. The boot time is around 15 mins for some reason. It stays at the Window Mobile 6 screen for 15 mins before starting up.
Hard reset anyone?
Is that the only solution?
I'm sick of this and slowing turning anti-windows.
Some times things need to be refreshed. Don't be scared, it will be ok.

Somebody please explain to us that this slowness/unresponsiveness is unique for the TYTN II?! Should I expect the same from a HTC Touch or a Samsung?

Have you, by chance, been experimenting with network folders? I saw something similar with the file explorer, after I had connected to a network drive at home. It was trying to reconnect while I was away from the home network.
You should expect it from any electronic device like this. Maybe not 100% of the time and not 100% of them, but things like this do happen. There are too many things trying to live in harmony and not step on each others feet for there to never be a problem.
Do a hard reset and see what happens. If it doesn't solve your problem then it's time to look into a warranty claim. If you can use the phone, just backup your numbers and then reset. It's really easy and doesn't take much time to get things back to normal.

I didn't touch any of the system folders. In fact, nothing was done to the phone since yesterday except send/receive phone calls and play Solitaire.
If you don't reset it then don't complain.

I've done this (hard reset) before and I have every right to complain. Not trying to be a troll, but sometimes I feel I should've bought an iP***e instead.
Right now I'm trying to take a backup of my files on the Storage card, but Total Commander is unresponsive (trying to copy 5 files for the past 30 mins).
I know I'll eventually hard reset this thing, but I'm just pissed right now.
So you don't think people have to hard reset their iphones? I laugh in your general direction.
If you can't make or receive calls, send or receive text messages, or access email or the web
Check the cell signal indicator in the status bar at the top of the screen. If there are no bars, or if it says "No service," try moving to a different location. If you're indoors, try going outdoors or moving closer to a window.
Check to make sure you’re in an area with network coverage. Go to your carrier's website to see network coverage areas.
Make sure airplane mode isn't on. From the Home screen choose Settings, then turn Airplane Mode off.
If that doesn't work, turn airplane mode on, wait 15 seconds, then turn airplane mode off again.
Make sure to include an area code for every phone number in your contacts list that you use to send or receive text messages.
If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: If you enter the SIM PIN incorrectly three times, you may need to contact your carrier for a Personal Unlocking Key (PUK) to enable your SIM card again.
If that doesn't work, there may be an issue with your wireless service. Call your carrier or go to your carrier's website.
If that doesn't work, restore the iPhone software. See this document or see "Updating and Restoring iPhone Software" in the iPhone User's Guide.

Come on now. You know what I meant. I wasn't trying to imply that at all. I was just venting. Sorry if it offended anyone.
is it possible that its just having trouble reading the sd card (if you have one?) maybe the file system is becoming corrupt on the card and its constantly trying to read it?..

I thought about this. I tried using the phone without the SD card. But the behavious was the same. Currently I'm hard resetting it
So how did it go?
Just finished hard resetting it. The phone works now. Fortunately I had an export of my contacts in an XML file (using a .NET utility that I wrote.) Unfortunately, I haven't written the import part of the utility yet
The phone works, but my docs and pics are gone. The SD card works fine. Thanks for your help guys.
Outlook works nice for backing up contacts and there is also a program you run from your phone that does the same thing. I think it's PIM backup
use cleartemp from now on to clear unneeded items on every start up
it is pim back up
its the BEST

More junk to cause this sort of problem.
Hi guys
Please help! Basically, I bought an item off ebay on my phone. The seller then sent me a question which I picked up through my gmail email account on my T-Mob G1 and when I clicked 'Respond Now' in the email...
My phone just died and went to a multi-colour screen saying the following:
DREA110 PVT 32B
HBOOT-0,95,0000
CPLD-4
RADIO-2.22.19.261
Sep 2 2000
I am sooo worried that I've lost everything... my pics of my little boy, contacts etc etc... is it a lost cause? Am I doomed?
Please help me fix this I can't find my user guide or a backup disc if one was supplied in my pack I've lost it!
Nat x
That's the boot loader screen, nothing to panic about. It's accessed by turning on the phone with the camera button held in.
If you pull the battery and restart the phone, does it go straight back to this screen?
Hi GoldenarmZ
Thank you sooo much for your reply!
Yes when I turn it off and back on it takes me straight to the screen... took my SIM card and memory card out too and still takes me to that screen.
N
It's possible your camera button is stuck in.. give it a wiggle and pull the battery again.
If that doesn't work, Pull the battery, hold down the [home] button, replace the battery and power on (still holding home).. see if you get a different screen.
Should I leave my SIM card and memory card out when I press the home button or does it not matter either way?
Camera button isn't in by the way

Put the sim back in, memory card doesn't matter at this point.
You're great!! Thanks, it now has a pic of a phone with a triangle 'i' symbol?
Sorry for late reply, had to quickly bath my baby!
Well the phone is probably fine since you can get bootloader and recovery screens. There's no reason to think you've lost any data, all your photos will be stored on the memory card anyway.. but if its going straight to bootloader every time I reckon your camera button must be broken. If that's the case there isn't a great deal you can do except get it repaired by t-mobile. There's no point wiping the phone or anything like that as no matter what you do, every restart will come back to the bootloader screen.
All I can suggest at the moment is to take the back off the phone and hammer the camera button a few times.. really give it some agro.
If it were me, I'd be at it with a screwdriver and a good portion of fury by now, but if you're not a natural geek that's probably a bad play.
So the phone pic with the 'i' sign is basically telling me there's a problem with the phone not the data?
I've attacked the camera button but I really don't think it's the camera button stuck in?
Is there nothing else I can do?
in the i screen when I press home and power off the android system recovery screen comes up in front of the image with the following options:
reboot system now [home+back] - tried this and just turned off phone
apply sdcard:update.zip [Alt+S]
wipe data/factory reset [Alt+W] - will this delete everything saved to the hpone i.e. contacts etc?
wipe cache partition
Then at the bottom it says:
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command

No, that's the recovery screen.. you can use it to reload the phone's operating system. You can give that a try, but bear in mind you will lose all downloaded apps, system settings, sms messages etc. Your contacts should be synced with your google account so you won't lose those, nor will you lose any music and photos on the memory card.
Are you a t-mobile UK or US customer?
I'm UK, what's the cache partition? Will I still lose the above things i.e. txts etc if I clear the cache partition?
I'm not insured so don't think T-Mob will fix it for me

Clearing the cache partition won't help.. How long have you had the phone? T-mobile replaced my first g1 under warranty.. If it's under 12 months old and its not damage you've caused yourself, they should fix it.
had it 14 months nearly
Well if you don't want to pay for repairs, you'll have to try reflashing the phone.. there's very little else you can do at the moment.
Do you have a card reader that will fit your phone's memory card?
Yes I have a card reader... I don't know how to flash it though?

I'm going to tell you
Just give me a minute to find the files you need.
How good are you with computers..? Do you understand zip files and such? and are you using windows xp/vista/7 ?
Just so I know where to pitch these instructions..
Not to but in, because the advice is sound, but it may be wroth getting everything off the memory card before performing the flash.
am sure you already thought of that, but I know whta its like to miss that one step and lose something important.
and yeah I know it shouldnt make a difference, but safety first.
Had the phone for few days and a problem when i clicked for example the "MESSANGING" on my home screen it lead to aim screen to i click back it went to another app then i lcicked home i went home and clicked messanging again and it went to another screen of a app why isnt it go to messagning? it works now but it did that twice!!!! it froze everytime i tryed to quickly share a photo via facebook it froze one time there.well a new problem happened..... i locked it the nwhen i lciked the power to unlock no puzzle unlock wasnt there it was just my backround.. then i keep lockign and unlockign no puzzle i shut the phone off and restated?
Your best bet is to wipe your phone and flash a fresh rom onto it. What rom are you using?
its regular updated 2.2 nexus build number FRF91 idk anything else? its not rooted
Oh ok so purely stock.
1. Backup all your contacts:
*Open Contacts app
*Press menu softkey, select Import/Export
*Export your contacts to sd card
2. Go to settings -> privacy -> factory data reset [THIS WILL WIPE ALL DATA ON THE PHONE]
Your phone should restart, and you should be good to go.
thanks bro... why u think its glitching liek that because maybe all the apps i got like 20 from market and task killer? or what can it be? by the way i factory restored it once not because of this problem but jsut to clear all apps quickly... so i just did it lets see how it goes from now....
No problem, I'm here to help.
I remember reading recently that task killers from the market actually may do more harm than good. I don't exactly remember why, but that may be your problem...
P.S. I always thought task killers required root...I guess you learn something new every day
hahaha true true.. so these problem u heard about before or first time?
I've never heard of your specific issue but anything is possible
gotcha so right now i download most apps such as aim, calorie counter, magic marker, pandora, yahoo mail, drink recipe, shazam, shopsavvy, WHERE thats about it.. no task killers no battery displayers no nothing.... hopefully this problem wont occur....
Good. Just send me a PM if you run into the issue again
gotcha.. thanks anyone got any ideas why it would occur..... apps? virus?
Were you using a program to customize the icon? Like Folder Organizer?
nope.. but i did have astro zipper program i had lock up 2.0 i had werid thigns just got a habit of downloading i enedup delting lots but problem occured i just did a factory reset so far no problem.....

From what you're explaining, its seems you're experiencing the touchscreen issue. Most if not all of the N1's have this problem. It's a known defect that HTC chooses not to admit too. As of now there's only a temp fix which is to press the power button on & off. Its a problem that randomly occurs. There's nothing that'll specifically trigger the problem, it just happens when it happens. Flashing to a custom rom will not solve your problem becuz its hardware related. If you haven't voided your warranty in any way, your best bet is too warranty exchange/repair your device until its fixed.
ya im going to call warrernty now and see what the deal is!
hey guys, I don't know what's going on with my S7 but yesterday was working fine and out of nowhere everything started to FC! From twitter to "Google Services Framwork", Gmail, browser, tweetdeck, calendar, voice, I can't pretty much use it anymore, I haven't done any new app installations so i don't know what's wrong! is it just me, or anyone else having this problem??
Any help will be much appreciated!
Thanks
That has happened to me 4 or 5 times. It's like half of the device gets erased but the apps are there. Everything force closes. I end up having to erase the device and re-install everything. Reboot into recovery if you can't figure it out and format the system and data. For some reason when i do that, i keep root. Not entirely sure how that happens, but one less step for me. I think root is power and one of the volume buttons.

ha! i remember I already did that. After the Update we had, and I exchanged mine for a new one I decided to stay with no root (i don't know why! lol) so I guess I'll reset everything and go back to root I figured at the end I was gonna do that, but I was trying to see if it was just me or there was a fix
thanks man!
ok, so since yesterday I've been trying to factory reset the DS, and when it boots back on, everything stays the same!
I'm a little confused now, if I take a picture and I turn the tablet off, when I turn it back on, the picture disappears. Same thing happens if I move widgets, delete or create new ones on the screen, they go back to as the configuration was on friday night! GV not working, and the last message that shows there, same thing, shows the last one on friday. I don't know what can I do.... should I call dell??
duck tape and dynomite
stupid thing started crashing yesterday FC this and FC that ....cant restore it as i no longer have write access to the internal sd card
1) tried nv flash
2) tried restoring from clockwork
3) tried pushing files through adb
4) tried fastboot ....
if i didnt just dump money into this thing id blow it up ......
any help would be appreciated.......any tips to fix it or kill it completely so i can get another one
actually deleted all of the files on internal sd card and uninstalled every program on the device looked completly stock ....rebooted it and it went back to how it was yesterday ......theres gotta be a reason why other are having the same problem that started on the same day .....maybe dell pushed an OTA update and screwed us ......just a thought cause mine was fine till i went 4g yesterday so my sis could post facebook pics ....not sure but hope we can figure this out
Samething happened to me

I'm running stock, and I discovered the hard way that you can't let the S7 battery run all the way down. The S7 will not power itself down in time. I had the same issue, and the only way around it was to do a complete factory reset, using the menu button from the main screen. I think the reset is in the "About" section, but I don't have my S7 with me now.
Being used to WM6, which powers the device down at 5%, I was not expecting the device to do this, but there it is.
dell streak 7
im not sure if I am the only one with this issue you but becareful with the streak 7 mine well both of mine wont charge properly and the newest one wont charge at all. i have to send it back to dell for them to fix it. Im not sure what cause this but my only advie is to never use a different charger for it only dell chargers. Im guessing that it messes up the battery callibration and then it gets really hot when charging
