Bluetooth Tethering with LTE? - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

To HTC Vivid users on At&t I have a question, when you tether via bluetooth to a tablet what type of speeds are you getting on the tablet? This is assuming you have LTE turned on the Vivid.
I asked since I am looking for to switching to an LTE phone since At&t announced a soft cap for LTE users that have the old unlimited plan. So far on HSPA+ I am getting 1.5gb/sec via bluetooth. Wondering if it will be any different on LTE.

My mistake I am getting 1.5mb/sec download on HSPA+.

caption to read 4g instead of h+

Is there anyway to make the phone show 4g instead of h+ on top....this is on the bwidow rom...i know it on the same hspap system, just a personal preference i guess
Are you sure its the same? Every port that I've tried my data speed has suffered....on speedtest.net I'm not even getting....well just look at the picture.

Is LTE/4G the same thing?
Or is 4g just faster than 3g and LTE is stupid faster than 4g??? I'm confused.
I always thought 4g and LTE were different speeds.

4g and LTE are different,
OK, so can we get 4g speeds w/o LTE on a RAZR port?

You get 4g but you dont get 4g lte.
Hmm, my wife's phone is 3g and her data speeds kill me on my 4g phone with a ROM that's been ported.
That's why I was thinking I am not getting regular 4g. On stock I put her to shame.
I'm fairly certain that I don't have LTE in my area .

Just look up what speed h+ gets compared to 3g. It should be faster though. You can also always give joker a shot. I get good speeds on it.

Unless you have a special Nexus with a built-in phone option, no. The Nexus isn't a phone.
It does wifi. And I use my phone as a wifi hotspot when I want to connect away form my home network.
Lol

I guess you didn't know that there is a GSM Nexus 7.... It uses the back hauled HSPA+ and will go to 2g/edge in poor signal areas.

In fact, on the GSM variant, there is an options for "only use 2g" the save battery.

In Algeria we have only 2g connection

Thanks, i can buy it now
Just wanted to confirm; there are actually 3G and an LTE version of the Nexus 7 out there. As to what dropofdreams2 said, there is an option on the 3G model to only use a 2G connection. The tablet will also switch over automatically when there is no 3G service available, or of the signal is too weak.
There is no LTE Nexus 7. It uses back hauled 3g known as HSPA+.

Nope. Each device behaves differently and every person uses theirs differently. The answer is that you will have to find out by doing it yourself.

[Q] T-Mobile 4G speeds.

I'm on the Viper One ROM. And my 4g speeds are relatively slow at about 3mbps. Does anyone know why? Before I rooted it was about 20-30mbps.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
My 4g speeds on T-Mobile are right around there, lte speeds are what hits the 30mb/s speeds. Have you tried going to a spot where you know you get lte? My phone switches between 4G and lte depending on what part of town I'm in..

Did u double check to make sure your network mode is on lte in settings?
Obvious, I know, but sometimes it's the solution

No More Internet while Talking Anymore on 4.3

Before with 4.1 I could of used the internet while chatting on the phone with someone, but since the 4.3 update, not anymore. Only WiFi. Anyone else notice it as well? Haven't seen no notice or mention it.

It's always been that way. Unless you're on lte before you shouldn't have been able to do both at the same time.

I did notice they removed the feature. The evo lte could do phone calls and 3g simultaneously, it's a shame they got rid of it

Which ever it picked, 3G or 4G... Now neither. Sucks they got rid of it.

I'm pretty sure I still have the ability to go LTE while I'm on the phone.

This is impossible for cdma 3g, which Sprint uses. It's not a removed feature. There was a work around - the phone had 2 antennas for 3g so this could work.

Gk it's right on. They did not so much remove it, but Qualcomm removed it from their soc.

The EVO 4G LTE could do it on cdma 3g because it had separate antenna paths for 1x (i.e. voice) and 3g data. The HTC One doesn't and can only do voice and on 4g or WiFi.

That is one of the things I liked about the HTC LTE because I could have the GPS up pulling data while on the Bluetooth headset in my truck at the same time.
LTE and voice work fine still. 3g, will never on this phone

Lte speed

Hello everyone,
I was wondering what speed I should be getting on lte. I did a speed test and I had 10mbps down and 3up. It seems to be a 3g speed.
Thanks

Network speeds vary across carriers. Just because its an LTE network does not mean you will always get super fast speeds. Sprint for example has LTE but their speeds are terrible. Generally I consider anywhere from 15mbs and up download to be decent LTE speeds. I pull at least 15-20 Mbps on at&ts network where I live and I consider that more than enough.
