Is anyone else receiving an OTA right now? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is anyone other than myself receiving an OTA update notice this morning?
After successfully flashing XXLRG the day it was released I began receiving those nagging XXLRK reminders every few minutes even though I check off "hours later" tab. Eventually I ended up giving in so I could stop those nagging notices & that was a HUGE mistake. Needless to say I ended up fudging my GT-N7000 big time!.
Finally after tireless flashing - my Note came back to life but it took me all damn day to finally have the Note accept XXLRG back onto it? This is why I am so hesitant to pull the trigger on this OTA update. It's not even stating the name of the update which leads me to believe it may be the XXLRK update again.
Anyone at all receiving an OTA Update notice this morning? Anyone?

just flash through pc odin already

Wifi not working after ota update

Hi,
I have a rooted I9295, after the last ota update (2 weeks ago) i noticed that my wifi stopped working and i get an annoying message "Prevention Information". I think the update failed on the radio part which is causing this.
I'm currently on android 4.2.2 with baseband version MF5 and ML3 buildnumber.
can anyone point to a fix ?
thx !

I'm not sure if this is the right modem, but it could be. Hopefully somebody else will reply with a proper solution.
The latest OTA update was for 4.3. Looks like you didn't update at all, but the process borked something up on your phone. Maybe a factory reset will fix your phone. Yeah, major pain, but had you gotten the 4.3 update you'd really be screwed since going back would not be an option and you would have lost root.

Unfortunately we're not so lucky in Europe, still no 4.3 update.
The latest OTA update we had here added some more Samsung bloatware and a nice message warning you to close the flappy charge port after charging.
I had a rooted 4.2.2, and i think that caused the problem.
Going to try to update the radio with Odin.

So i ended up doing this:
First i flashed the entire phone (since i couldn't find just the modem)
http://honai-android.blogspot.nl/2014/01/how-to-update-galaxy-s4-active-i9295.html
After that i rooted the phone again
http://androidxda.com/root-samsung-galaxy-s4-active-gt-i9295
And that fixed the issues.
Everything works fine again, and i didn't loose any data in the process.

[Q] Update

Recently my phone received an OTA update that I didn't want to install. I kept pushing remind me later but for two days in a row around the same time (between midnight and 1:30 am) my phone showed me the update with no option to remind me later. It then proceeded to reboot on its own and try to install the update. It failed both times thank GOD! However, my real concern is likely with AT&T because I believe this update will patch the exploit TowelRoot used. Once I calmed down (I was highly pissed) I used Titanium BackUp to freeze the app AT&T software update app, and now I've not been bothered with those irritating update prompts. Has anyone else tried to install the update while rooted? If so, was it successfully done? Has this issue I described happened to anyone else?

[Q] Received OTA but cancelled and no OTA now (Update: received it)

[Q] Received OTA but cancelled and no OTA now
Hi, I have the Moto G XT1063. Some minutes ago I received the OTA for Lollipop 22.21.25.en.us version . I started to download it, but I wanted to grab the link using my PC as hotspot and using Wireshark but when I cancelled it I was told to go to System/Check updates to update it again later, and when I tried to update it again I got the message saying "Yout device is up to date". I tried different Wi-FI networks, USB update via Motorola Device Update but no update found.
Did this happened to any of you? Could you resolve it? How?
Thank you!
I got the OTA notification on my XT1064 earlier today at lunch. I am rooted (TWRP, Xposed, debloted) so I know it would fail anyhow, so I cancelled it...I am counting on the fact that we will have CM or slim for the phone soon.
I had the same thing happen to me for the last update when I was on vacation a few weeks ago. I had spotty hotel WiFi so I decided to cancel and try again later. Still haven't had a second chance.
Wow, WEEKS? I've already waited 6 weeks. I thought I would get the update in a day again but it doesn't look like I will.
I guess we will have to wait until the official version comes. I like how Motorola keeps their phones updated but their way of updating them is horrible and they have really dissapointed me. I hate the rollout being in phases and on top of that when I finally received the OTA after more than a month waiting and tried to update it later I cannot get it anymore! They must be joking! Besides, I don't know why they take so long! What's the mystery Motorola?
They keeping everything in secret god knows why or 2 russian engineers.
Even who is invited to soak test shouldnt talk about the update. I think they hate Europeans, because the difference between the two device (the EU version and the US one) is minimal.

Motorola does the same stage rollout update methods as Google, although personally I find Google to be much worse.
They do this to steady the flow of updates (to save their servers some stress), and to catch early bugs that are noticed by the first or second 'pool' of users.
Apple does this right in my opinion. Once an update is pushed, every single supported iOS device can update immediately.
Patience. We just need patience
It's only software...
Found a solution!
The same thing happened with me when we get the first sw update (stock launcher - Google Now launcher) I tried a lot but I was not able to update it. After 2 months I did a factory reset & then tried to do a system update & it worked I again got an option to do software update!

Sorry but I don't find what you've said as a solution. I definately don't believe that waiting 2 months after you received the update is a solution. I think that you got the OTA for a second time.
I will not do any factory reset: doing a factory reset DOES NOT do anything. In fact it changes an unique Google ID that Motorola uses to update their mobiles phones and could actually reduce your chances to receive the OTA. This was explained by a Google engineer- So for anyone reading this DO NOT FACTORY RESET your phone. Let's just wait; we are already in the batch-
You all can force OTA.
Go to settings => Apps => All => Find google service framework.
Clear cache and data of it, stop the service & then reboot the phone. Then again try to check for update.
Do it couple of times if did not work on 1st try.

NO! That's actually the same as doing a factory reset or even worse. It's a myth proved wrong. Just google "google engineer OTA" and you'll see how the rollout is done. I can't post links because I'm new here.

Thanks for letting me know, that was an interesting read.
Finally I got it today. It didn't show up as a notification but I checked for updates and Lollipop 5.0.2 was there! Jumped from 4.4.4 to 5.0.2 (412.3 MB). It's very nice. I believe Motorola is rolling it out officially since it showed up in the System updates check.

Wait... So you're saying since I rooted my phone with TWRP I have to then not accept the update and THEN wait even MORE? How can I use it now? i.e. is there anyway of reverting it to where I can use the update.

5.1.1 update keeps failing

I have tried twice now to update my phone to the new 5.1.1 update. Each time it downloads. I tell the phone to restart. When it goes to install it states Error. Then just reboots with out doing the update. No information what is causing the issue.
Now after this 2nd time my phone is stating I have to wait 17 hours to check again to try the update! No idea what is causing it to fail. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue. If not I am thinking tonight I might do a clean wipe of my phone and restart.
If your rooted or where rooted it will fail the update...have to odin back to stock first

Same issue here. After reboot the install fails. Have never rooted this phone.
Quoted from the Android Police article "As mentioned, I could not get my personal AT&T S6 to install the update. I finally got it to work after enabling all the system apps that I had disabled before trying to do it. I have seen others report success with this as well. If you have already tried and failed, just manually set your date a day ahead to check the servers for the OTA again."
check this

Thanks giving that a try.

After trying to root, will I still receive any OTA's?

**I don't condone anyone using a Note 7 since the recall. **
After spending a lot of time trying to root and failing. I was able to get a slightly different stock rom and now have full battery 100% capability (V2 and previously had update to block at 60%)
What has me excited is when I go to manual update it gets a "Processing Failed" message right away. Tried over wifi and both with a live SIM to make sure.
My questions is, if I can't force update, will I now avoid the OTA coming in couple weeks?
Thanks
Edit - so if I can't get the update to limit charging to 60% again, then I shouldn't receive other OTA's?
I was thinking of rooting mine too but instead of I flushed firmware and rolled back to the green battery and blocked packages with Package Disabler PRO.

It's for a friend so I'll factory reset the device before giving it back. I can advise him to download package disabler once he gets logged on his gmail account etc -
But if the phone gets a "Processing failed" error right away when clicking on check for updates, will it receive push updates still since it can't register and download any of the previous updates at the moment?
Unless your on the orig note 7 firmware rooting isnt going to happen.
Unless you have a paid license of package disabler before it hit version 7 using it to block an OTA also isnt going to happen.
